Where to Eat Around Tysons Corner

"Shipping containers give shape to this food and beer pop-up with almost an outdoor food hall quality to it, complete with firepits for keeping warm during winter months. The idea is an evolution of Tysons Biergarten and now includes dining from vendors serving waffles and tacos, fast-casual Persian, and sushi burritos (and even sushi pizza)." - Missy Frederick, Travis Mitchell, Tierney Plumb

Shipgarden is located on Coleshire Drive, right opposite the McLean Metro Station near Capital One. It’s slightly uphill but easy to reach. The place itself is quite nice — warm indoor halls, and a larger common area where people can sit, have drinks, and relax. During the Christmas season, the ambience feels festive and lively. We tried the fries, loaded fries with cheese, garlic fries, and a cider beer — everything tasted good, and we were happy with the food and drinks. Unfortunately, the biggest issue was staff behavior at the entrance. The person checking IDs — a man wearing a cap and having a beard — was extremely rude and aggressive. I politely informed him that my wife did not have an ID and that she does not drink alcohol. While I completely understand alcohol policies, the way he spoke was unacceptable. He aggressively said words to the effect of “we’ll kick you out if your wife drinks,” which felt threatening and completely unnecessary. Rules can and should be enforced, but there is a respectful way to communicate them. The tone and manner used here were harsh, intimidating, and disrespectful. Additionally, the shuttle driver (black guy with beard) was also rude when I asked whether showing an ID photo on the phone would work, immediately dismissing it by saying it could be photoshopped instead of explaining politely. So I would recommend the management to dismiss such staff who are disrespectful towards customers! Attached is the photo of the beard guy for management’s review! And at last, the shuttle driver denied the ride to us, we were waiting for him near the Shipgarten shuttle (shuttle which takes to their parking lot), so we had to walk about a mile in super chill weather back to our car - completely frustrated! Also I don’t understand the concept of adding 20% gratuity even if you are just one guest.

I hosted a friend’s birthday party at ShipGarten and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. From start to finish, the staff was absolutely amazing. They made the entire planning process easy and stress-free, with clear, quick, and efficient communication every step of the way. They were incredibly accommodating. The food was great, my favorites were the funnel cake fries and the guacamole. The Cider was delicious!!! The venue itself is fantastic for hosting events, and I highly recommend ShipGarten for birthdays, gatherings, or any special occasion. One of the things I love most is that they also host dog-friendly events, which makes the place even more special! I had an amazing time and will absolutely be using ShipGarten for future events!!!

Google
Shipgarten is a great hangout spot and the perfect place for a dog party! We celebrated our pup’s birthday with his friends and Shipgarten did a great job of coordinating the event and reserving tables. It can be a bit difficult to receive service in the outdoor areas, as we didn’t have any interaction with the staff. Overall, great place to hangout!

Google
This place is great for adults and children. I think they have this every Sunday but sometimes a little different. This time they had a small petting zoo. Definite good place to hang out and let the kids play while ya’ll watch sports.

No parking. Twenty dollar valet. Scary bounce houses (there are kids in there. That’s a cliff). Even the umbrellas are sad. We left covered in mulch. Good cotton candy.

Google
A great place that hosts fun events and decent happy house HH deals! With so many outdoor activities, this area is even child and dog friendly as well 👶🐶 I walked into the main tent (there were a couple around serving various food and drinks) and didn’t have to wait around during happy hour for a seat. We ordered drinks at the bar and food at the vendor stalls in the building next to the bouncy houses. The beer prices increase by a dollar during every hour of HH but the selection is great, and there’s a lot of other good cocktails and other Asian drinks to choose from too. We also got the tuna nachos, funnel cake fries, and some small pizzas. The parking lot is a little far away and has a shuttle leading to and from the lot, but there is also a lot of street parking near the surrounding buildings as well. I’d recommend coming here for a chill HH with games too (they’re a little worn down but still playable) and a generally good time!

Great place for families or for happy hour. I'm giving 3 stars for a few reasons. We came for the Mardi Gras festival, but didn't see anything related to this. Luckily it was free. They do check IDs at the entrance. The parking was confusing and we had to follow the shuttle to the parking lot. Entrance and parking were free. There were so many signs up--hot drinks menu, special surprise bucket for ~$30, etc. but none of these items were available in either tent. There were some stools available at the smaller tent, but some of the staff were sitting at one of the windows. It looked a little run-down in some parts of the smaller tent. The customer service at the small bar area with food order/pick up was great. The bartender was very helpful in providing suggestions for drinks. The food orders were placed at the self-service screens and only in one tent. The pickup windows were available on either side. Some of the food was too pricey for what it was--below average bar food. We ended up ordering the following items: -Peche mel scaldis - this was a, refreshing drink and not very bubbly a little flat, but too much lip -Cuvee des Trolls - light, slightly bubbly -Boneless wings - basic wings -Create your own pizza - not much flavor, except from the cheese -Jalapeno Cheddar wurst platter with potato salad and potato pancakes - this was terrible TBH--tastes like cheap hot dogs from the grocery stores! Would I return? most likely not

Wonderful place to take the whole family. Super kid and dog friendly. Also great place for a night out with so many different and fun events. Plus the endless drink options are amazing!

Yelp
The parking situation is a bit confusing at first, but once you figure it out it's no problem. The walk from the lot to the beer garden is easy, as long as it's daylight when you're trying to cross Old Meadow Rd. Otherwise, I wouldn't risk cars coming too quickly around the curve and I'd just wait for the shuttle. This is a great place to take the kids - not too many places around here have bounce houses with no fee to use. There's plenty of space for parents to watch the kids while still having a good time themselves. The menus are hard to track down. I searched online for ten minutes before giving up and decided I would just bookmark them this time since I've forgotten to every other time I've been here. The biggest negative is that it can get overwhelmingly busy and the beer prices are pretty steep but not advertised anywhere.

Yelp
Ok, this place is definitely cool in concept and space. It is an adult playground and has a lot of room for kids to run around also. There are couches, benches, lounge chairs and a mini dog park. The beers are good, they have popular brands, I thought it would be a brewery but no biggie. Administratively, operations, food and parking are a disaster. The food will take forever to set up, since you have to register to their site/app, which was having issues when we were there, then order from different spots. It took us 15 minutes to place the order messing with their app. The quality of the food is traveling carnival at best. Do yourselves a favor and do not order the tacos, unless you like cold tacos and poor quality meat. My best advice would be to get the Persian veggie pizza, it was tasty and at least it was hot. There is no parking, I'm trying to figure out how this plan got approval from the County. Will you have a good time, yes, the music is cool but after a certain time in the evening it is loud as hell where you can't talk in the main tent. You will definitely have fun if you know what to expect. And depending on the festivities it may be too crowded, but it is a cool spot. I would not go there hungry or in a rush though but worth checking out.

Yelp
Shipgarten is large beer garden style location with multiple food/drink stalls and a variety of seating options. They have games (for adults and kids), a section dedicated to dogs, and some general indoor/outdoor seating. My friend works at a building nearby and it's convenient to be able to walk over for a quick drink. Parking seems confusing - you can't park at the beer garden instead at a parking lot a few miles away and take a shuttle. I've seen people walking between the parking lot and the location every time I've gone. There are 2-4 restaurants/bars open - it's often confusing to understand which window to go to for what items - I find I end up going to the wrong place for what I want every time somehow. The bartenders and employees often seem confused or overwhelmed, often running between locations to get items they need. It took two trips by the bartender to get all the ingredients to make a Moscow mule the last time I was there. There are a lot of options for seating - either under a tent structure that provides share or out in the lawn. Be prepared though - it can get hot very quickly! Overall it's a great add to the area if looking for a quick drink and some place to connect with colleagues or local friends. The seating options are nice - just be ready for lots of people, a bit of confusion/slower service, and it to be a bit warm.

Yelp
I hosted a corporate event of 800 people at Shipgarten. The event was seamless. One employee said, it was the best event that they have ever attended, that our company has hosted. This venue has something for everyone. There is a variety of characters that you can pick from to do a performance at your event, you can add snowcones, a dj, our event planner added a 3-legged race that kids and parents had a great time at. Games are distributed throughout the venue. They are so flexible to work with with your budget. You have an all-in-one venue when you book at the ShipGarten. I appreciate the incredible staff and owners! Thanks for an amazing and memorable event!

Yelp
The ordering system is a little confusing. Staff are friendly and do their best to be helpful, but the kiosks don't match the options you see if you walk up to order directly.

Yelp
Fun casual outdoor biergarten to lounge around and grab some food and drinks with kiddos and dogs (yes - there's a small enclosed dog park!) There's plenty of space with rows of picnic tables and velvety plush comfy couches inside one of the tents. There are themed events catered to young adults on different days of the week and a party like atmosphere with hookahs at night. There are nice free family-friendly events typically held on Sundays. I really enjoyed the Halloween trick or treat for both kids (candy) and adults (samples of beer and cider). The small petting zoo with alpacas, rattlesnake, lizards, and bunny was fun for the kiddos and the 2 minute timer per family kept things organized! The moon bouncer and playground are a bit run-down. There's no parking on site. There's a free parking lot below the hill, and shuttle buses run frequently every ~10 min or so. It's only a 10 min walk up the hill to Shipgarten, good to get some exercise before the drink/food frenzy begins! The dining experience is a bit confusing, chaotic, and overpriced with the different concession stands/food vendors. You can use order from the QR Code or the kiosk and food times vary by concession stand/vendor. There's a full bar with 15-20 beers and ciders on tap inside the main tent with the velvety sofa. Recommend just standing in line, didn't see a QR code to order drinks from the tent. I enjoyed the dry Shipgarten cider and the sweeter Cobbler Mountain Cinnamon Cider (bold cinnamon flavor!). The mixture of both ciders was a great balance! The Mule cocktails are on the sweeter side and tasty. The bars in the other concession stands have a different selection of cocktails and drinks (the selection of beer/cider is more limited). Don't expect a culinary experience with the food - overpriced sports stadium food. Reheated and fried frozen food prepared in small kitchens. Tyson's Biergarten - Go for the fries, and skip the Latke pancake, pretzel, and the loaded fries. The Potato Cake was a lukewarm frozen hash brown while the jumbo pretzel was very dense and flavorless, notch below stadium pretzels. The loaded fries was disgusting with processed beer cheese, grilled onions, scallions, Keep it simple with just regular plain fries. Roll Bar - The Poke bowl was quite tasty and l loaded it up with crunchy toppings and a heap of veggies! The Wasabi and the Sriracha Mayo had a spicy kick and preferred the house-made Teriyaki sauce. While I was tempted to order the Sushirito, I'm glad I got the Poke Bowl, great bang for my buck! Waffles and Taco - Hubby enjoyed the Chicken Taco in a hard-shell taco. The taco bowl is underwhelming and bare bones. I asked for some nachos, black beans, and rice upon request which balanced out the bowl. Given that it's in my neighborhood and within walking distance, Shipgarten has become a staple!

Yelp
Came here for their Oktoberfest Beer Olympics day and it was a lot of fun! Overall. 4.5 star experience for my group. They have a lot of outdoor space but also multiple covered tents which was great because it was raining. Shipgarten has lots of games including jenga, giant chess, checkers, and connect four. They ran a bunch of fun competitions including keg curling, stein hoisting, and jenga tower building. They also had live music going. We also loved the free facepainting that Shipgarten offered for the event. One complaint is that the beer samples were a little pricey ($3 for a small 2 or 3oz sample cup). Also the parking is very far, about a couple minutes drive away. Thankfully they run a free shuttle from their parking lot (navigate to Shipgarten Parking on Google Maps) and the shuttle hours are on their website.

Yelp
What a great place to hang on a Saturday afternoon! Excellent selection of beverages. Beers (and not just 100 different IPA's), cider, frozen drinks, cocktails, and canned unusual drinks like soju yogurt cocktails. Diverse food options, but I love that there is one POS. So you can order whatever you want from one kiosk and they text you when it is ready. We enjoyed a salmon poke bowl over greens with fully customizable toppings and dressings, an avocado salad with a teriyaki dressing, and belgian waffle with nutella, bananas, and strawberries. All were delicious. Others have mentioned high food prices. I disagree. I did not think $15 for a poke bowl was unreasonable. The daytime weekend crowd leans into families, but I did not find this a problem. I'd expect the nighttime crowd to be more adult. True. The parking and shuttle bus is a bit of a PITA, but it is only a .5 mile walk from the lot if you are up for it. I also might like more covered areas. It was a HOT day and everyone was crowded into the covered tent area. The open areas are probably lovely in the fall or spring.

Yelp
Honestly - I was between a 3 and 4 star review, if I could give a 3.5 that's probably where I'd land. Pros: - a cute area - a nice concept - plenty of options for drinks - good options for food - a cute dog park if you want to bring your furry friend - seem to have fun activities during the week/weekend (trivia, karaoke, etc.) Cons: - food is overpriced and is a bit confusing to figure out how to order/pick it up (you also can't order from your seat which is a bummer) - the parking situation is pretty rough (we ended up just walking far - steps I guess?) - I wish the grass was a bit more maintained/cut down (don't need no bug bites)

Yelp
Watch out, look out; interesting place ahead! I actually watched this business being built as for a time I worked in the building next to it. That being said I was interested to try it out. For those not familiar, it is comprised of a series of tents on a hilltop. There is extremely limited parking and most will have to take a shuttle. The restaurant is a series of basically food trucks under the tent. There are several options and they serve alcohol. The food was underwhelming for the price. Granted we were there at lunch, so perhaps dinner/happy hour might be a different story. It is popular with the happy hour crowd, however it just was not a place that I would go back to. It was worth checking out, if nothing more for the experience.

Clay S.

Yelp
Food and drinks were okay, probably a bit overpriced for what the place is. We had a group there and were told after a couple hours that the table we were sitting at had been reserved all night. We were sitting there when they put signs on the table next to ours, but nobody ever said anything to us at the time. About the time the place was getting fully packed (no other seating available) the GM came to us and very rudely told us we needed to get up, and accused us of moving the reserved signs. No way I will support the business again based on his attitude towards us.

Yelp
Such a cute place to bring kids! A huge play area and two moon bounces! The only issue I had here was the parking and how we had to park somewhere and take a shuttle over. Not a huge deal but with three young kids, it was an ordeal. We stuck our youngest in a carrier so that was helpful. The food here was a little complicated because you don't really know which restaurant you're ordering from and you're walking back and forth between a few places. Their ice and water wasn't working when we first got there and I had to ask the bartenders for ice and water and though some were super nice, others seemed annoyed. We were a group of about 18 so I don't think a few waters would have worked. It's also summer soooo yeah. The bathrooms I thought would be a little sketch but they were actually pretty nice! We got the funnel cake fries (get these!), burger, sushi burrito, wings, tacos, and shaved ice. All the food to me was pretty mediocre and overpriced. The sushi burrito didn't have a ton of salmon in it and was mostly rice. I feel like I was paying more for the atmosphere and giving my kids something to do. I'd only get the funnel cake fries again. If you're not too picky about food and don't mind overpaying a bit and just looking something for your kids to do this could be a good place! I did see they do have some events on weekends for families and dogs so that's nice!
google avatar

Carla C.

Yelp
They advertised a Lunar New Year festival but there was nothing to do there, also charged a $20 valet parking, only served alcohol and overpriced disgusting food, photobooth. I have a pic of what they advertise as a photobooth (with old trashy props)
google avatar

Chandler D.

Yelp
Great outdoor venue. They have an area for kids to play, an area for dogs to play and a lot of space for adults to just come and hang out. They have a nice variety of drinks and various food options for you to choose from. You're also able to start a tab and are able to add items from various parts of Shipgarten if you decide to order from a different tent. The service here is also top notch!
google avatar

Kateleen H.

Yelp
The concept of this place is incredible. They essentially are a kid friendly and kid focused, dog friendly, bar. The play ground area is all on a hill so it felt like we were always on a slant. The bounce houses felt dirty to me, and I wouldn't let my kid get on because she is too young and would get trampled by the older kids. There should be a limit to the number of kids allowed at a time. That said, it was visually stimulating to my toddler and she was super excited to see a bunch of large toys. Fortunately we got here early and were able to do some exploring before the whole place was over run with a rougher crowd. They have a lot of activities for kids which I appreciated for Easter. They did arts and crafts, egg hunt, face painting, pictures with an Easter bunny. Lots of random toys and music and appropriate movies playing on large tvs in the main tent. Another reason I liked this place was that there was no judgement from the staff when I ordered a beer at 11am.

Yelp
My friends and I love to meet up here and hang out! Good outdoor space and often they have live music/weekend events. Very dog friendly and family friendly too. I haven't eaten here yet but no complaints on the drinks. I haven't taken many photos here but you can see some green beer we got during St. Patrick's day weekend :)
google avatar

Yelp
Had to give this event a 4 but leaned towards a 3. The reasons why I leaned to 3 was because the wait for food is pretty long, the prices are higher than what you could get down the street, and the quality didn't feel on par with price. The reason why I leaned to 4 was because the experience was unique and fun and I would go again if I am in the area. I enjoyed the number of drinks that they offered; wine, beer, and liquor. They also offer soft drinks and juices. I tried the chips and queso along with the IPA beer. I was happy with the beer and would order another one again. The staff was nice and helpful so it made ordering easier. They have kiosk that one can order from, but none of my credit cards could be read. I had to try two others to get it to work. I was disappointed with the food and will not order there again. Luckily they have several other eats you can try. They staff in the main bar area was nice and helpful and gave me a drink I was happy to pay for. The ambiance is great and spacious, it can get hot since it is all under a tent. I would go again and perhaps try other eats.

Yelp
A fun spot in McLean for a casual night outside of a bar! I used to visit the Biergarten back in the day before it closed down so I was excited for Shipgarten to open. I like the concept of 4 different shipping containers. I wish that you could order from your table and be served, rather than having to wait for your food and grab it but you do have the option to receive a text which is convenient. Overall, the food is good, not amazing, but good. The location is on top of a hill, they provide shuttle buses or you can walk up. They do let dogs ride in the shuttle and had treats for my dog when we went! I like their tents but I wish they had leveled out the areas with the picnic tables as they are slanted due to the hill. I like that they are pet friendly and do a variety of events all the time. Most recently, we visited for St. Patty's and they had various drink specials. In terms of the food: The sushi place has good poke, their sushi fries are okay (6/10). The Biergarten has good wings, brats, but last time I got their pretzel it was pretty dry. The Persian place - I was not a fan of their kabob at all. I've had plenty of good kabob in the area but this was not good. I did visit right when they opened so maybe it has improved. The waffles and taco place - I've only tried their matcha funnel fries and they were pretty good. Overall, it's a fun spot, drinks aren't too expensive and they will always have something to do. Views are also nice in the summer.

Yelp
Bartender in food cart was terrible. He couldn't even make a rum and coke. Embarrassing.

Yelp
Great place to come with the kids, had come by during their Easter event and it was absolutely packed and filled with things that kept my kid busy and happy. Food was just right and drinks were great ! Reasonable pricing. Parking is pretty scarce so had to opt for valet which was 20 bucks. All in all great place to hang or throw your next event especially when the weather is nice to use the outdoor space.

Yelp
Yesterday was my first time here. My cousin was one of the performers at Oktoberfest. The beers were great! I did not want to wait over an hour for food ( I over heard some one say it was an hour!). The Staff and security guards were all very friendly and just wanted everyone to have a great experience here. Plenty of seating and space for people to roam around and sit. Not all of the picnic benches have umbrellas though. There were a few birthday parties going on while we were there. Great place to celebrate. They have a bug tent with tvs and seating too. All in all, I would recommend this place to others.

Yelp
Shipgarten is a very cute beer garden with a variety of food offerings. We came here for a Wednesday night trivia and had a lot of fun. There is both covered seating and a grassy lawn with picnic tables. We chose a picnic table with a good view of the trivia stage. The trivia was legitimately challenging and super fun! I did not try the beer, but my friends enjoyed some beers and ciders. I had a root beer soda that was delicious. For food, I ordered the black pepper meatballs with parmesan fries. The meatballs were fine, but the the fries were delicious! I enjoyed the food. I regret not trying a sushi burrito from the sushi bowl/roll stand. This beer garden is conveniently located by the McLean metro. I recommend checking out this spot!

Yelp
Shipgarten was a neat spot!! The official grand opening of this place hasn't actually happened yet. I've gone to Tyson's Biergarten in the past a few times and always enjoyed it. This is the same owners as I understood it, with a new location. First and foremost, there is NO PARKING. Of course this is a downside and makes it more inconvenient. There is a lot just a few mins down the road where you can park and get on a free shuttle over to the Biergarten. They told us they plan on getting valet soon too. It's right next to a lot of business buildings that are gated off, so no parking will likely ever be available right next to this location. Ironically, I think the coolest thing about this place IS it's location. The view of Tyson's from here just looks so neat - particularly at nighttime (which is when we went). Another really cool thing is that there are a bunch of different food places to order at in the shipping containers. I am assuming this is where the "ship" in "shipgarten" came from. We already had dinner before coming here, but the food options looked really good. I'd definitely like to try those out another time. There seems to be plenty of outdoor seating and even a whole jungle gym for kiddos - tbh I'm not a fan of kids at breweries but I also get it, so this was a smart decision on their part to install. It was a hot night, so I got a grapefruit raddler - which I expected would be light and refreshing. It had a low alcohol percentage but it honestly tasted like soda to me. It was way too sweet for my liking. I wasn't a fan, but I'd love to try the Oktoberfest beer options and other beers. My boyfriend got the Hefeweizen and I thought it was really good - tasted like banana and clove. I'm excited to see how this place does in the long run. I was sad when Tyson's Biergarten closed, so I'm happy to have it back up and running in a new style and location.

Yelp
Probably one of the best beer gardens in the area. Lots of beers, wines, cocktails, and sodas to choose from on the menu. Then they also have a few different food pop-ups. Seating is both outdoor and indoor (and heated if the weather is chilly). There were long tables and benches throughout, with several groupings of soft seating in the indoor tent. I was also very thankful for the luxury trailer restroom situation as most gardens tend to have sani-cans only. I ordered just a beer- the Oktoberfest on draft- and was not disappointed.

Yelp
What a cute spot! Park in a nearby lot and catch the shuttle to this area where you can bring your pups, kids, AND grab some decently priced food and drinks. I loved the variety they offered, sushi, kabobs, German, tacos, basically you should find something you like here no matter what you're in the mood for. I enjoyed the sweet and fruity Delirium red as well as a beer made of elderberries. Lots of comfy seating and entertainment while we were here. Definitely want to come back when it's a bit warmer!

Yelp
No no no no. I can't say enough bad things about this place. If you're a young professional, I can't blame you. You haven't experienced good places and don't know any better. But I'll start with the good. They allow dogs and they were cute and well behaved. The bad: -There's no onsite parking. You can drive up and try to decypher their poor map and instructions on where to park. Then walk up a steep hill or wait for a shuttle to take you there. (the shuttles are pretty often, but it's still a pain). -The food is such poor-quality imitation. At least the "German style" food was. Didn't come close to finishing it. -There are no servers. You can get your happy tush up and walk to a separate tent for food. Drinks are at least in the same tent. But plan on not hanging out with your friends for a significant amount of time. -We were there for trivia. It's trying waaaay too hard. You better pay attention to the rough sounding speakers the whole time or you'll have no idea what's going on. Also, get your tush up to hand in EVERY answer. Hey, at least you'll get your steps in.

Yelp
Great vibes and staff. Food was hit and miss. Pizza was not good. Thai chili Wings were. German sausages were good but not the sides or the pretzel. Seems like they mostly cook frozen items. Came for the music and they have a convenientBiergarten shuttle from plenty of parking

Yelp
They do NOT have their food service together AT ALL. Terrible. I ordered something, they texted me it was ready, but when I got to the pickup window they were "out" of it and the guy at the window was totally clueless. The manager said he'd bring a substitute item right to my seat, but that was 20 minutes ago.

Yelp
Very expensive for terrible quality food. Pizza is horrendous--red baron is better. Generally nice beer hall atmosphere but food experience was very bad. Eat before you come, or maybe a pretzel?

Yelp
This place is SO chaotic! We came for the Fourth of July event but left after one drink because of the stressful environment. A motley assortment of sofas and picnic tables cramped together and kids running around everywhere. Not a relaxing location to bring your dogs and grab a drink. We left and went to Star Hill beer garden right next door which is awesome. It's unfortunate because the place has potential and the beer selection is great but the set up and vibe is just not it.

Yelp
Shipgarten is another zoo of a brewery where kids, dogs, birthday parties, and hookah smoking collide. Expect to be overstimulated by the sheer amount of people there and areas to sit. They have off site parking and a shuttle and when you enter you are greeted with a maze of a spot. They have live music, a semi enclosed tent to sit to watch TV (football, baseball), container areas where you order beer and food on kiosk machines. Bathrooms are clean and not just porta pottys which was a win. The food ordering was easy and some items came out quick, while others like sausage took a while and one of our friends orders just got stolen but there was no one to really complain to. They have a whole enclosed dog park and bounce house area for kids. The prices here were fair, which I appreciated. The cheese fries were ok, potato pancake was lack luster. The jalapeño cheddar corn dog is very basic, not worth the $8. They were somewhat inconsistent with the size glass they would serve the same exact beer in. One of the bartenders in the tent area was rude; when we asked for them to turn to the capitals hockey game, he flat out said no and proceeded to blast the baseball playoffs on all 10 TVS- a little unnecessary? We also had them pour the wrong beer once and only when we called them out for pouring a cider and pretending it was a pilsner, did they switch it out. If you want a one stop shop for drinking, food, and entertaining your kids/dogs this place is for you.

Yelp
An experience that everyone in Tyson's needs to try at least once! It's a great place to enjoy plenty of beer and some unique bites with a setup not often seen in the area. We didn't have an issue with any orders and the bratwurst was great. We'll be back.

Yelp
Great for families during the day and early evening. Has a lot of fun activities on the weekends. We've even brought our dog to play in the dog park there; there is separation between big and small dogs.

Yelp
Great beer + hookah + good vibes = hells yeah. They had trivia when we got here--excellent surprise! The food was stellar. I will absolutely come back here.

Yelp
DONT PAY $20 FOR VALET - you'll wait double if not triple as long - they use a shuttle service for parking because there's no parking nearby. Environment and set up is great! Also really like that they had a park for children and a dog park. They have plenty of tables as well. -BUT- They have a huge miss opportunity with their POS system. The food ordering system is a complete disaster. The QR codes did not work and you have to pick up your food at one of the 4 different shipping containers. Which one!?....who knows if you order on one of their digital screens - you can select a variety of different food but there's no distinction of what "shipping container" that the food will be served. So without knowing we ordered food from two different "restaurant" The staff did not confirm recipients with confirmation of order or order # ...thus half of our order was missing. It was very hard to get the staff attention because they were so busy and just putting orders on their counter but when I tried to notify one of them they had no idea what to do and just told me that somebody else picked up my order. (We went on Saturday night) Very confusing and even more stressful trying to figure out! We ended up never getting our loaded fries so whoever got them I hope you enjoyed it.

Yelp
Since some people asked for a follow up status, here it is: they did absolutely nothing to help me and continued to ignore me. Highly recommend to stay far far away from this place.

Yelp
This place rocks! Cool things for kids to do as well as season theme activities for the kiddos. I go for the German and Belgian drafts plus the food selection is pretty good, too. Everyone can find a favorite drink, food and entertainment here. They have a shuttle bus lot that picks up on the regular. Sometimes they also have valet, but the bus comes so quick that I don't bother with trying to find out.

Yelp
You have absolutely no idea how to run a special event. No one was checking tickets today at your ticketed event and it was completely overrun with people. There was no availability for kids face painting and when I placed an order for food, I waited over an hour and then ended up just canceling the order after standing in front of the ordering window jammed in with a whole bunch of other people that did not get their orders either. I would strongly discourage anyone and everyone from going here. Complete waste of time.

Yelp
I have been here twice now, once for a birthday and another time for a Drink NOVA event. The good: There is a huge selection of food and drinks, which I think really provides a good option for everyone. Most of the food is bar food, so if you're looking for something upscale, this likely isn't the place for that, but as a primarily outdoor venue, they serve the type of food I would expect, with a few fun added twists. Dog & kid friendly. Who doesn't like drinking and petting other people's dogs? Seating is varied in table size/height/shaded/unshaded, accommodating I would say, to any party size. The view is nice, especially in the evening. The staff overall seemed really friendly and there was an adequate number of staff for the number of people. Both times I went they had plenty of lawn games, live music, and then later in the evening a movie, so there is definitely plenty of entertainment. The less good: Parking is a little bit of a hassle. The parking lot is about a 10 min walk. There is also the option of a shuttle that arrives every 15 min, or $20 valet parking. Both of which are fine options, but less convenient than on site parking. The bathrooms were a little rough. In the evening they started out fine, but an hour or two in there was flooding happening and a bunch of other issues so I'm not sure if maybe they need to be checked a little more frequently, but both times as the night went on the bathrooms became a little more ick. The food kiosks-- so to me these actually fall under good and bad. Good that they exist, but bad in the sense that they are tucked away in the corner and there isn't really any clear signage what they are or what they are for. I think if I'd waited in line a long time and then was sent to go order off a kiosk I would be annoyed, so maybe better signage would be helpful. Overall, this venue is a fun place to visit. I think there are a few kinks that still need to be worked out but I would still recommend stopping

Yelp
Totally underwhelming and inappropriately advertised. Took the kids here for a " Harry Potter" festival. The only thing that was Harry Potter themed was a simple scavenger hunt. Nothing else had anything to do with Harry Potter. The playground is for kids 5 and younger. And the food vendors primarily sell alcohol (my kid wanted a seltzer but all of the ones available had alcohol).

Yelp
Price is ridiculous. here beer is $12 for example. ordered pizza but the quality has no difference like the grocery store and frozen one

Yelp
I really should have read the reviews before coming here but this was place was closeby so I walked over to check out Oktoberfest. The beer I got was warm and the bartender responded to my question with, "I don't know anything about beer, I only know liquor." And then proceeded to pour all foam into my drink I thought the racism I saw in previous reviews was just a one off incident but having received it first hand myself, I advise you to stay away from this place. They decided to run some games and straight up were unfair in the friendly competition. What a surprise when they disqualified the people who were working hard to just give a prize to a caucasian girl instead for "working hard" when she actually cheated but wasn't spotted. Like other people have mentioned, check out the Perch or any of the other bars instead

Yelp
HOW did I not know about this place over the Summer?? It is perfect for any need- family, date night, friends, colleagues. They have everything but for us the biggest draw was the amount of things to do for kids. Bounce houses numerous playground and they host different activities for kids on Sunday I believe. The staff is friendly and the food is good and not over priced. Drinks are great as well. I only wish I knew about this for my kids birthday parties .. it's a no Brainer - kids play while the adults get to socialize and drink. They seem to offer add ons too like face painting balloon animals characters etc. Food comes out fast, there is live music, there are different areas to hang. I just really love the concept it reminds me of something you'd find in Leesburg or Middleburg but it's way closer to the city. I was thankful for Jack to help us coordinate our reservation and he was so helpful with talking about events we could have there. They have awesome packages for food and drinks and no rental fees or anything. Can't wait to go back and bring more people !

Yelp
No outside food or drink but they don't sell milk or toddler snacks at a brewery geared towards families with young children. What the actual fuck?

Yelp
I came here Sunday afternoon for a surprise get together with the family. We were debating between Starr Hill and here. Seeing how we have not been to Shipgarden, we decided to check it out. I did not realize that parking was a few blocks away from the venue, but luckily they have a shuttle that comes by every 15 minutes. You can walk it in 10 minutes or so if you really wanted to. I was surprised that it was somewhat empty on a Sunday afternoon. First impressions, it looks pretty makeshift...Definitely not as nice as Starr Hill. There is plenty of outdoor and indoor seating. It is nice they have a lot of lawn games around and even a playground for the kids. We got a couple rounds of beers, and their selection was decent. They will let you sample. There is a full bar and a couple options for food. Service was good as well! We got some food as well, the sausage patter (hot dog and bratwurst), the wings, and the vegetarian sampler. The food was just okay, nothing special. The wings were pretty salty and the vegetarian platter seems expensive for what it is. I did not get to try the sushi place, but maybe another day. Overall, it was still a good day. Nothing too special to write about. Would I come back, maybe for a second opinion.

Yelp
This spot is the best! They have an awesome selection of food & beverages with a awesome vibe. There's a little of something for everyone to love. Stay & service are great - they always go above & beyond. Great space to hang with a group of friends and casually grab a bite & drink. Pups are even welcomed too!

Yelp
In LOVE with this place. Plus, the free shuttle because there is no parking nearby is a huge plus! There's 3 sections for food and a large selection of alcohol. I spent 1/2 a day here and you could easily spend all day here. It seems like every few hours they have something new going on. When I arrived it was live music and when I left we were finishing trivia night. The added bonus is it's dog friendly. Oh and did I mention the pumpkin cider?? It could rival the PSL at Starbucks.

Yelp
Went to check this place out with some friends, and was shocked when the owner, Matt, approached our group with a extremely racist and condescending attitude. He repeatedly made racist remarks about Asian and African-American people. On top of this, when my friends and I went to close our tabs, we were told it was "already taken care of". Come to find out, an extra $50 worth of drinks were added on to my tab. I went back the next morning to resolve the issue and was told they couldn't do anything about it. There are other places just like this in Tyson's. StarHill, which is right across the street, was a much better experience. Don't waste you're time and money here.
