Shippy's - Review - The Hamptons - New York - The Infatuation

"A German beer hall transplanted to a cushy beach town, this Hamptons haunt dates back to 1954. Their classic German breakfast plate—potato pancakes, bratwurst, grilled tomatoes, eggs—definitely didn’t cost $20 then, but a lot more about the place seems to have remained the same. Shippy’s is the type of local mainstay that works as a home base for remote work, or daily vacation meals, with a solid kids’ menu. And their happy hour, with a half-dozen oysters for $10, and discounted apps, is one of the best deals out east. RESERVE A TABLE WITH RESERVE A TABLE" - Melissa Kravitz Hoeffner

Came here a few years ago and we came back for the first since the revamp and were very pleased! They did a beautiful job updating the interior and brightening the atmosphere. The food was delicious and service was fast. They also do breakfast during the week and brunch on the weekend. Will definitely be back soon!

Google
A charming little restaurant with a warm atmosphere and delicious, thoughtfully prepared food. The cozy setting and attentive service. Perfect for a relaxed meal you’ll want to come back for! Smash burgers were very tasty. A variety and big portions for kids, Mac&cheese was also nice.

We didn't like the food that much. It was cheese heavy and didn't feel that fresh. The chicken tender was over fried.

The food was ok. I was really hoping for authentic German cuisine. The mashed potatoes were not that great. Sausages tasted like Schaller & Weber. Service was great and accommodating.

Amazing breakfast! I've never had home fries as good as Shippy's home fries! Perfectly prepared and very lightly seasoned! Wow! Service was great...the addition at the new Beer Garden will be fantastic. Reminiscent of Oktoberfest in Munich with the opening roof and authentic Bavarian vibe to the place! For sure a "Don't miss" stop if you're in Southampton!

Especially the manager Patty! So sweet & nice & excellent @Her job! We had a party there that Patty organized & supervised! It was perfect in every way! & she stayed friendly & helpful all the way thru! Even with a smile & sense of humor! Kudos to her & whole restaurant! Definitely go to Shippys soon!

This is my first time here at Shippy's restaurant and I must tell you, we had an awesome experience. We came down tonight to listen to the live music of Monica, and had an awesome dinner. For starters, we had the lobster bisque soup (very creamy, buttery and full of sweet lobster that was so tender) and we split the wedge salad which was loaded with bacon, fried onions and blue cheese! For dinner, my wife had the delicious veggie burger and I had the smash burger! Both were amazing! The ambiance at shippy's is truly amazing! The place is decorated so nicely with subway tiles on the wall and panels. There are booths to sit at or tables along an open wall. In the back of the restaurant, there are 2 oversized semicircle booths. The place was great and I look forward to returning.

Google
First time here since the renovation. Everything looks great! Food was very good too, my friend got the house salad and the ribeye and I got the potato pancakes wurst plate. Service was on point. Only thing that threw me off were the costumes the staff was wearing. Made it a little weird.

Yelp
A relaxed and welcoming burger and sandwich , more casual than other eateries in the area. The staff were friendly and provided excellent service, making the whole experience very pleasant. Beyond the burgers, Shippy's boasts a great happy hour with some attractive specials. The bar itself is comfortable and inviting, perfect for a casual drink or a more extended visit. The overall atmosphere is far more laid-back than many of its competitors, creating a genuinely enjoyable and unpretentious dining experience. I highly recommend checking it out if you're looking for a tasty burger or Ruben.

Yelp
Really love this pub! The Turkey club is heaven! I had the spilt pea soup and wow! Great place , far from me but I stopped on my way back from being out east. Cute vibes!

Yelp
It's hard to choose a place to eat in Southampton. There are so many options within walking distance and all of them are on the expensive side, so you really want to choose right if you're spending the money to eat here. After looking at a bunch of options we decided on Shippy's. There's just something cozy the atmosphere of this place that makes it more approachable than other options in the area, plus it's been here forever so it has staying power. We arrived early on a Friday night without a reservation and were still able to be seated inside. I ordered a cocktail off the menu that was basically a Moscow mule with tequila, and it hit just right. Looking around at what everyone else was eating we decided to go with the wedge salad, mussels and French onion soup as appetizers. The French onion soup was just okay, but the mussels and wedge salad were stand outs. I loved the crispy onions on top, and the mussel sauce was so creamy. We decided on veal schnitzel and the sizzling steak (which literally comes out sizzling) for our mains, and they were outstanding as well. The sauerkraut and potatoes that come with the schnitzel go so well together, and the steak was cooked perfectly rare (even with it still sizzling on its arrival). If you're in the area and aren't sure where to eat you really can't go wrong at Shippy's.

Yelp
Awesome service! Great food! Excellent ambiance! Reuben was great... Farm salad was delish and the a great variety of fruit and veggies. I added grilled chicken, which I highly suggest.

Yelp
Trying to really like this place. The concept is good. The space is also good. They just need to tighten up a few things. Notably the beer: an impressive selection of German beer, but unfortunately, they don't seem to know how to manage, handle, and serve it. Often under carbonated, served in a frosted glass, (which you'll never say in any German establishment) splashed into the glass instead of poured properly, and served in a mishmash of mismatched glasses: you're likely to get a Pilsner in a Weisse class and vice versa...simple things to address. It's just a matter of taking the very good beer selection imported from Germany and managing it properly.

Yelp
We have enjoyed "Shippy's" in its current and past iterations and routinely order their signature Veal Schnitzel - it tne past "augmented" with a fried egg on top! This week promptly ordered Schnitzel and a cocktail. The veal "cutlet" was a profound dissapointment. Advised the courteous server and the Manger of the "tough, tough" texture of the veal. The Manager suggested it had been "pounded" a little too much! Not likely. I took most of the not-eaten veal home, stripped the breadcrumbs and realized a not-so-tender cutlet. "I" pounded and tired to salvage the remains and it simply was not a great cutlet. Will definetly return and be much more cautious with menu selection. Sad as the new owner "John" has done such a masterful job in sustaining this otherwised outstanding eatery! Hope things improve.

Yelp
Went to Shippy's for the first time a couple nights ago with a group of 4. The atmosphere was really cute and lively, didn't feel like we were in the Hamptons. Much more of a New England casual feel than the typical Hamptons restaurant, but I liked it. We started sat outside but it began to rain and they quickly accommodated everyone who wanted to move inside with ease. However our food took about 2 hours to arrive which was insane and we didn't fully realize cause we were chatting but nevertheless that's absurd. The waitress was also very rude, she screamed at the hostess right in front of our table and then proceeded to not address us and just rudely stroll past. The food was good, we got the baked clams, fried chicken sandwich, and the smash burger. All were very good actually and comforting; again food that is definitely lacking out here. Overall the food was good but the service was not, hoping it was a one off experience but I most likely would not return.

Yelp
Visited on Friday May 30th with a reservation for 2 people at 7:15pm. Upon arrival we were told we'd have to wait for "five minutes" for a table. This was fine until we found ourselves waiting for a whooping 34 minutes before we were seated at a table. This was an insane wait time for a table we'd set a reservation for. Additionally, during this, another couple came in after we had been waiting for 15 minutes and greeted the main hostess/manager whom they were clearly friends with. They then received a table BEFORE we were sat down despite their later arrival than us. This clear bias is quite frankly disrespectful and unfair to other customers. We appreciated the male manager's attempt to make up for the time lost through refunding the cheapest dish we ordered. However, the female manager/main hostess's clear disregard for us did not go unnoticed. As returning customers, we were excited to revisit Shippy's. However, this situation put a damper on our experience before it even began. With reference to the food, the clams casino, filet mignon, and mac and cheese were quite tasty. The warm pretzel beer cheese and brownie however were not up to their usual standard. My brownie was quite dry and tasted stale which was unfortunate because It was the reason for our visit as we loved them previously. Based on our previous visit, and the recent visit, my partner and I decided 3 stars reflected our experience.

Kim G.

Yelp
Food is outstanding. It's one of our 'go to's'. Not only do they have a fantastic Ceasar salad, schnitzel, their filet mignon is amazing. Patty, the manager, is phenomenal with her attentiveness and attention to detail. They are lucky to have such an amazing manager. They are expanding and I wish them continued success!!!

Yelp
I've been going to Southampton last few years and was always intrigued by Shippy's from the outside - looked like a very cool vintage pub. Finally got an opportunity to try it and loved the experience. The restaurant has great decor, very comfortable seating on banquettes and nice chairs. Service was very friendly and super good value for the Hamptons. We had an enormous Turkey Club that was fantastic. Also the Pretzel as an App was amazing. Huge and Tasty. They have a $15 daily food special which offers an amazing bargain for the expensive town of Southampton. The bar also looked very nice so I plan on coming back many times in the future.

Yelp
Consistently delicious and fresh. Great location. Lunch is our go to - the turkey club is fantastic!

Yelp
I've been going to the new Shippy's since the reopening and it keeps getting better. The happy hour food specials rock! The dinner menu has a few deals on there, the shrimp cocktail, shrimp scampi and the NY strip steak. French onion soup is the real deal too. I enjoyed a halibut special last week and was thoroughly impressed. Great enthusiastic service all around. Bravo!

Yelp
We went for lunch last week...first time since the renovation. The place looks great! Love what they've done and it is an inviting, clean space. Compared to how the building looked before, this is an impressive transformation. We had a half dozen oysters, flounder sandwich and a local salad (or whatever they call it) with grilled shrimp. I thought the food was pretty average...a salad is just that, a salad and a flounder sandwich is a Hamptons staple at pretty much every restaurant on the East End. Not bad, but also not the most unique meal I've ever had. From a food perspective alone, I'd have no hesitation on coming back. Portions were substantial and I like to eat a lot so I'm giving a solid thumbs up there. The service sucked. It shouldn't have taken 2 hours to eat lunch when the place was practically empty. When we walked in we were ignored at the hostess stand for a solid 5 minutes but another group walked in behind us as we stood there and were seated immediately. Not sure what that was all about...from the service alone, I would not go back. Slow, unresponsive and uncaring. For what it's worth, my aunt went with friends for dinner the same night we went for lunch. She reported the service was great but the food sucked. My mother reported the food sucked too last time she was there. She said she had the chicken schnitzel special and said it was like shoe leather. Sounds like the got the renovation part nailed down perfectly but food and service they can't get set.

Yelp
Ambiance- lovely Service- I sat at the bar during lunch and the woman bartender looked miserable. Food- got the veggie burger which literally fell apart when I picked it up. More like a very sloppy Sloppy Joe. Probably my 4th time here and the food needs big improvements.

Yelp
The staff were very friendly. The fella behind the bar was training a woman and they both were great! The food was superb! I'd certainly make my way back to this establishment again.

Yelp
Amazing Herman food at a very reasonable price on the heart of the village. Gorgeous place, wonderful people and great service. Had the best Turkey club sandwich there tonight, out in the pretty beer garden. Just go. You'll love it.

Yelp
I never like writing a bad review, but felt I had to check in. Not sure if was beacuse of the breakfast/lunch switchover, but went to Shippy's for lunch this Sunday with the family at noon and the visit was not enjoyable at all. I had a feeling things were not going to go well, when I was told that asking fries instead mash potato was "considered a substitution" and not allowed. Really? That is a pretty normal choice at a pub. So I had to order a side of fries as I was in the mood. Anyway, 30 minutes later, no food and the waiter comes out and says "we do not have any mash ready, do you want fries"? At the 45 minute mark, the food finally comes and its cold. We ordered most of their top line up, WURSTPLATTE, VEAL SCHNITZEL, Smashburger and Turkey Club. You would think they would nail this stuff. Mountains of fries on all the plates, plus that side I did not need (they said it was on the house for the wait), lol. Funny thing though was that half the fries were cooked and the other were white like they just had come out the freezer, slightly cooked in the oil and served. You would have thought that the food would have been hot if they were backed up and just running late, but strangely enough it seems like it was sitting around. Cold German sausages and veal cutlet, not great. S hould we have sent it all back?, maybe.. Wait 40 min for food with a hungry guest, you just grin and eat it, right? Anyway, I told the server the food was not worth the wait, "sorry" with a smile and that was that. Nice location, clean bathrooms, etc but not a great showing for eats today.

Debbie F.

Yelp
Shippys revamp... looks great on the surface but terrible service! Met friends for dinner last night. Waitstaff was scarce. Our dinner took over an hour to arrive my highly anticipated smash burger was cold and dry! Waiter never checked on us while we waited or after our food was served. The check took another 30 min to arrive... we couldn't find anyone to get our bill. I hope Shippys can get it together
google avatar

Yelp
This was my place. Sadly, post renovation/update, no more. I'm not going to recount my experience in writing because it was that bad. I am editing a 5 star review from 6 years ago to a 1 star review because this place is truly that bad. Everything about it. I've been going to Shippys for nearly 35 years! The new ownership/management has destroyed it.

Yelp
Well I decided to try again after 6 years. The food was definitely better. Biggest issue was the staff. Arrived about 4 pm on a cold Sunday afternoon. Hostess said they were serving brunch. I asked about lunch and she was insistent it was brunch. She flashed the menu at me. I saw there were some sandwiches so I thought our group of 6 would all find something. After the waiter arrived I asked about the Sunday lunch special and he indicated no problem getting that. Shortly after we were seated another group came in. When their food arrived they were able to order soup. Would have been great but it's not on the brunch menu. Later as our group ate and chatted the hostess arrived to place 2 unlighted candles on the table. Was that really necessary to place them at that moment? The table would need to be cleared and cleaned when we were done. Then the bus person arrived and insisted we give him all the silverware not being used at that moment. No one was ever asked if we would like refill on drinks or if we needed/wanted anything else. Our interaction with the staff did not create an appealing dining experience.

Hannah R.

Yelp
My burger and fries were strictly proletarian The coleslaw was the texture of purée (yuk). The music was loud and lowbrow Unappetizing room temp tap water on the table an obvious ploy to get you to order a beverage to upsell you. The water timer on the bathroom sinks need to be pressed repeatedly to get an insufficient amount of water to wash your hands with. Not enough leg room in the booths for more than two medium sized adults. Needless to say I won't be going back there.

Yelp
Went to Shippy's recently and this could've been a negative review had it not been for the wonderful manager (sorry I forgot her name) who saved the day. We had a small issue in the beginning of our service that really wasn't anything that bad but it was how the manager handled it that will keep me coming back. She went above and beyond to fix the situation. I won't even comment on the food because it's always great. Drinks too. The bartenders know what they're doing. Thank you to Shippy's wonderful staff for making what could've been a negative night into a more than positive one.

Karen D.

Yelp
happy to find a new brea brunch spot just in time for summer great location great ambiance old world pub feel with complete update but the menu and food surpassed how lovely the restaurant is. Service was attentive and friendly, food was super.A creative menu and gourmet execution while still being brunch. newest gem in the Hamptons!

Yelp
I want to love this place! it's local, it has a reasonable menu, they did a wonderful job renovating the space AND my wife is of Austrian descent. so we love this kind of food. First visit last week we sampled a lot: veal schnitzel, wurst plate, chicken liver and chicken schnitzel. Everything good, but not outstanding. Veal would have been better with mushrooms, as would have the chicken, (yaegerschnitzel), wursts needed something, maybe just a nice roll to put them on, masked potatoes needs gravy, should not have had to have asked for gravy. But food was dedent, service very nice an decided then and there to return. So we went back for happy hour...Friends talked about it and we were excited: nice ambiance, reasonable prices, new business needing business, everyones a winner. Only thing was happy hour was only served at bar, bar had very limited seated and then standing room only, so we weren't going to stand and eat and drink. Yikes, so instead we sat in the main dining room and no longer had option for happy hour. Bummer. Whole restauart dining area was essentially empty and they really should have offered happy hour throughout, but they don't. Respectfully, a mistake. In fact we won't go back for happy hour unless and until they do. Lastly, for dinner wife and I both had the chicken sandwiches, quite the rave lately with Chick A Filet, etc, and we were excited to try them! Dissapointment!. Breaded and fried, not battered and fried like a Chick A Filet or Popeyes. Definitely not the same. Then the breaded cutlet is smothered in Buffalo Sauce, WAY TOO MUCH!, almost inedible. Very disappointing. And then to finish it off you use blue cheese dressing in combo with the Buffalo Hot Sauce and just not a great combination. Listen folks, I genuinely like your place and really, really want to come back. Just a few favors: Ever so slightly improve the snitzell, with perhaps a simple sauce of mushrooms; make a wurst platter with some nice half buns to eat them with. Definitely batter your chicken sandwich, don't bread it, and use chick a filet or Popeyes type sauce. They're tried and true! All lastly, most importantly, open you whole restaurant to happy hour, keep everyone busy, and we'll stay past six and order more drinks and food at full price and everyone will be happier for it. By the way, we love your staff! Good luck!

Steven L.

Yelp
in my 77 years I have never eaten in a worse restaurant.. not even close i began with potato pancakes which must have used sea moss for flavoring my next course was a chicken cutlet deep fried! thin as a piece of shoe leather it was thrown in a deep fryer with rancid oil the red cabbage tasted like ammonia even the pretzels were soggy ever have bad ice cream? try it here the owner held a high position at McDonalds.. Need I say more? The old Shippys was a wonderful earthy restaurant This place is sacrilege

B C.

Yelp
Shippy's is the BEST restaurant in the Hamptons hands down! The new ownership did a phenomenal job renovating the space and creating a menu that has something for everyone. The service is great and the staff are all so nice and accommodating. We had a 15 person dinner in the outdoor area last summer for a family member's birthday, and it couldn't have been a better night. Run don't walk to Shippy's!

Frank M.

Yelp
Just found out that Shippys has breakfast and decided to check it out. Totally great food, had the best corn beef hash I have ever had and I have had a lot of it in my life! Place looks great and everyone at table had great meal.

Erin G.

Yelp
Place is amazing !!! Well staffed , all very friendly and attentive . Food was spectacular... Bartender Garrett was a solid 10/10.

Chip R.

Yelp
Very mixed feelings about this reimagined old guard restaurant. I had read the recent reviews and could not understand why they are so uneven. Now I do. Food is OK to good. Drinks seem tasteless and watered down. Thumping gay 80's disco music is the worst- and LOUD. The place is very dark. The servers are mostly young, unprofessional, and inexperienced. Bottom line - the renovation stole the heart and soul out of this place and it could now be any 3rd Ave bar that serves just ok food.

Yelp
One of the last handful of the original restaurants of Southampton's still thriving and operating in this town! And so happy it is! No clue what these negative nelly reviewers have to complain about. The food is solid and stick to your ribs good, the portions to price ratio is also very balanced plus the waitresses have been there 30-40 years and know their loyal based customer's usual orders over the phone just by hearing their voice. There are old pictures of what the restaurant looked like back in the early days and other fine memorabilia on the walls too. Menu is part German and part Americana but I'm not mad at that at all. Ordered the escargot stuffed into white mushroom caps with delicious generous dollops of toasted minced garlic and butter. The Bavarian combo platter was not too salty at the least bit, the wienerschnitzel a la Holstein came perfectly topped with a fried egg, lovely plump pan seared filets of anchovies and fresh capers. The mashed potatoes was super buttery, the creamed spinach was divine and the saukraut had just the right amount of vinegar fermented kick to keep you coming back for another bite. Loved their lentil and bean soup of the day and I'm usually not a fan of blue cheese dressing at a restaurant but this one was worth licking the plate clean for. Wish I had more space for dessert but that just means we come back for about visit very soon!

Charlie M.

Yelp
We just finished another lunch. This time we had soup and the split the Flounder Sandwich special. My wife had French onion soup which she said was delicious and I had the soup of the day, Lobster Bisque. I must say was one of the best lobster bisque I have ever had ‍‍. The flounder sandwich was also excellent.

Yelp
I've been going to Shippy's (my favorite restaurant) for 54 years. I would look forward to a muddled scotch old fashioned and an excellent meal in a friendly, comfortable environment. I knew the waitress staff by name, and ask for my favorite waitress (Dee) when making a reservation. THE NEW SHIPPY'S IS A TOTAL DISAPPOINTMENT. The atmosphere is not comfortable, the waitress staff is young & inexperienced and the food is bland. The sauerbraten had no flavor. I miss the black bread and breadsticks. I miss the surf and turf. Bartender need to make a real old fashioned, and not use a mix. I will not be going to the new Shippy's in the future. The new owner ruined this iconic place. He even took down the old pictures.

Maggie B.

Yelp
10/10 breakfast. Must try in Southampton. Service was impeccable. Veggies in my omelette were super fresh! Great indoor renovation.

Yelp
So, I finally tried the new "Shippy's". I ordered a Reuben. It was cold in the middle and came with McDonalds cut fries which were lukewarm and had no crunch. Nice staff. Nice renovation job but I'm not "lovin' it".

Katie K.

Yelp
Southhampton's hidden gem. The breakfast was amazing! Highly recommend trying Shippy's. Chef Josh (formerly from the Hampton Maid) has ventured into Southhampton making a breakfast you don't want to miss!!

Yelp
I will first say I don't like leaving bad reviews, but this was one of those times. We really were looking forward to dining at Shippys. We had heard mixed reviews, but being locals, we just wanted to see for ourselves. I had checked the reservation site and there were plenty of reservations open, so we figured we were ok. Granted, it's Saturday night in the Hamptons so we were fully prepared to wait if needed. The hostess greeted us immediately with a hint of an attitude when we said we didn't have reservations and immediately said "well we only have the 2 out front open". Ok, no problem. It was myself, my husband and our 3 year old son, so outside was no problem at all. After being sat we watched 3/4 other parties come in after us without reservations and were asked their preference for seating. Our server was so sweet, but we were never ready any specials. So we figured ok, no specials tonight. No big deal! Until we heard every table around us being read the specials. It really felt like we were bothering them. Ordered some apps, German pretzel, clams casino and mussels. Pretzel was very dry and almost burnt. Mussels and clams were lacking flavor. The potential was there, just missed the mark. My husband got the "worst" plate. Every sausage just tasted like Hillshire farm kielbasa. I got the sauerbraten and it was incredibly dry. Very very tender, but even covered in gravy (which was good) it was super dry. Mashed potatoes were good and braised cabbage was nothing to write home about (which made me super sad as it was one of the things I was really looking forward to). Our son got the chicken fingers and fries. They get points for hand breaded chicken tenders but they were so bland. The crispy fries were the best part of the entire meal. We will try them again for their breakfast as it's one of the only places that offer breakfast in the area, but all in all it was a big miss for us.

Liz K.

Yelp
We were in town for a wedding and stopped in for a quick lunch. The service was great, the hostess was very sweet and attentive with refills and service as well. Our waiter was very nice and it seemed like the whole staff was ready to accommodate us. The food was very delicious, fresh, and large portions. Definitely try the Shippys chowder and the fish sandwich. Would go again soon!

Rachel F.

Yelp
Dinner was delicious! Had the schnitzel and the sauerbraten- both were cooked perfectly and the portions plentiful. Service was outstanding as well. We will definitely be going back!

Taylor J.

Yelp
Beautiful remodel. Friendly staff. Great food. Awesome Happy Hour and outdoor area. Will definitely be a go-to spot!

Shari O.

Yelp
Ate at the "new" Shippys. Yaeger (veal) schnitzel was delicious as was the spatzel served with it. I won't even mention that there was a choice between chicken or veal. Unfortunately the only other German choice was sauerbraten and much to my husband's disappointment they were out of it. The food was very tasty but the restaurant is massing a lot of the German specialties like black bread and many more Austrian/ German dishes that distinguished it from the many other Hamptons restaurants. We were assured that the menu will be adding many more of the old favorites. We will be back when they return.

Harry C.

Yelp
We're anxious to go .....only reservation got that night, 5:00 pm. Arrived on time , seated , the reservation was very nice, open widows letting in light. Yelp
Our first time here since the renovation/ owner change. After some confusion in regard to our reservation (our fault) we were quickly seated by Mr. John Betts himself. it was obvious to us that the staff is still in its learning phase but we agreed the waitress was top notch and considerate. The pre food staggered its way out to us, with no plates but we procured some from an adjoining table... One of our party did not receive their salad in a timely fashion and was rewarded with a beer on the house... The food was decent, swordfish and Yaeger schnitzel in nice portions... Again, a newly opened venue with a learning staff has its growing pains but im confident they will find their way and be a go to place as it was known before under Mr. Betts direction. Ill go back August 1st! ( our mistaken reservation)

Yelp
It was great to get back to Shippy's! A little something was lost while it was closed, though. The ambience was pretty good, the service was pleasant, but the food was only fair - not quite what it used to be. Maybe in time, some of the old recipes will resurface!

Yelp
Outstanding food! Service was amazing with owner of establishment making rounds to tables and patrons at bar. Service was above and beyond.

Yelp
On this past Thursday I gave Shippy's another try. Just as it was last time the service was impeccable. Gina the lovely bartender made an amazing espresso martini, the hostess Patty was so accommodating and our waitress whose name slips my mind was delightful. Our table ordered a few apps, entrees and dessert. The food over all was good, the scallops were delicious and the apple dessert was amazing. Over all food wise it was a much better experience from my first visit. The staff is all very professional and friendly, definitely gets 5 stars for service! The restaurant is pretty inside, it is not "Shippy's" but a lovely new Southampton establishment. That being said I will definitely try it again, especially dessert ;)

Yelp
If you have a picky person in your party, DO NOT COME HERE. My teenager is eating french fries for dinner. She went to the bathroom to cry not even 10 minutes into us being here. Will not stop pouting because of how upset this is making her. This makes her seem like a brat but it is her going away dinner for graduation so I give her a brat pass for tonight.

Yelp
It is not our traditional shippys with great german and seafood options. The original was authentic. We tried to chicken shnitzel...too fried and the spaetzle had no taste. The breaded and baked pork chops are not on the menu, they have some smoked version which is not appealing. I know they are just starting out and the menu is changing and morphing but not sure I would venture back. The decor is beautiful.
