Shiraz Market & Grill

We have a process that is basically a random number generator to pick new restaurants to try out. This time, I hit the jackpot. I had heard of the Shiraz Market for a long time. Even Andrew Zimmern has talked about this place. So we show up, place an order for takeout, buy some bonus Dubai chocolate, and get out. Ambiance is awesome. As a person interested in trying everything from every culture, it was very easy to kill time browsing the market while my food was being prepared. We were getting ready for a movie night, so we also got like four new beverages to try that we've never had before. Very fun. Service was awesome. Very friendly folks, very prompt service time for the food, just overall a very pleasant experience. The food was absolutely banging. Best Middle Eastern food I've had in all of Orlando. We started off with an order of falafel. Very crispy little fritters with a not-too-dry interior that provides a pleasant chew. Served with a delicious, smooth, tahini dipping sauce. Really good. For the main event, we got a big platter of kebabs. Chicken and lamb, some normal chunks and a couple of kefta style. Served over a giant platter of rice, some slightly pickled onions, and a nicely charred tomato. The meat was very delicious. Nicely charred, super moist and juicy, cut into nice, bite-sized chunks. Seasoned to perfection. No bland chicken here. Rice was well cooked and very fragrant. The fresh veg on the platter helped add a nice pop to everything. Very very good stuff. We also got a couple of desserts. Not sure what they were called, but they seemed to be combinations of phyllo, honey, pistachio, organized in different manners. Very delicious. I loved them. I wanted to try the whole dessert cabinet. Anyway, overall, this was a five star experience easy. I will be back very soon to try some more delicious food, and I recommend you come, too.

DELICIOUS FOOD! We ordered the number 21 on the menu, this is enough to feed 2 (with leftovers), the food was all hot and fresh, and I didn’t have a chance to take a photo of the baklava but it was delicious as well, definitely order ahead if you want to take out, will come again for sure!

Persian and Palestinian food is served here. My family loves the platter with multiple types of meat. Something for all pallets. The food is great. We typically get the Sabzi as well. It’s also a grocery store.

This place is so good that my buddy tried to take the Cashier lady on a date! jokes aside, this place is really a Hidden Gem in the Longwood area. Would highly recommend the New York style bowl with the Gyro meat. Their bread and hummus is the real deal too. Worth a try! Blessings.

YOU ARE MISSING OUT IF YOU DO NOT COME HERE!! This is place has the BEST food. Everything from the garlic sauce, wings, kebabs, everything, is legit amazing!! Most delicious food, and very peaceful store. LOVE the service, food, and vibes! Definitely recommend and coming back!!!

While Checking out a Mediterranean grocery store that has a grill...Food was hit or miss, desserts were fire, and the market itself is worth browsing. Just don’t go in expecting amazing Food: ***falafel platter *** loved the warm, fresh bread and solid falafel. But... hummus was way too lime-y, tabbouleh was dry and flavorless, and tahini was super salty. ***gyro lamb*** was a miss rubbery and not enjoyable, though the tzatziki sauce was good. ***Dessert***saved the day! the baklava was amazing not too sweet, super nutty. Ended up buying more!. Also tried a prepackaged Dubai chocolate from the deli delicious surprise! Vibes: Quiet, small grocery vibe with a few tables to eat at. The market side was awesome. Well-stocked with a great variety of Arab snacks and goods. I definitely stocked up 😋 Service: Not the best. I Understand is not a restaurant but the girl at the counter messed up our order and wasn’t very friendly, didnt even acknowledge the wrong order when we told her. it wasn’t busy either... Left a bit of a sour taste

I ordered the beef kabobs and some baklava… I paid $25. The baklava was good the plate of food however…. The beef kabobs were bland and flavorless nothing to it… it came on rice which was not the normal yellow rice I’m accustom to and about an entire red onion sliced and half of tomato barley cooked…. There was no sauce or anything… the platter also is supposed to come with bread and or a salad and I got neither…. Overall I don’t get what was promised and got a very expensive box of flavorless food.. For the price go elsewhere not worth it

I had high hopes for Shiraz Grill, hoping to enjoy a genuine taste of Persian cuisine. Unfortunately, my experience was a letdown, as the meal missed the mark on authenticity and several key details. The most glaring issue was the rice. In authentic Persian cooking, the rice is a highlight—fluffy, with each grain distinct and separate, often featuring a delightful crispy tahdig crust. Here, the rice was dense, clumpy, and had a doughy, sticky texture, as if it had been overcooked and sat for too long. It was a poor foundation for the meal. The kababs were not bad in terms of flavor, but they didn't taste Persian. The seasoning and preparation leaned much more towards a general Mediterranean style. They were also noticeably overcooked, lacking the juicy, tender quality that is essential to good kabab. The side of hummus presented another baffling choice. Instead of serving it with warm, fluffy pita bread, we were given something that resembled tortillas. This completely destroyed the environment and experience of enjoying a creamy hummus. The texture and flavor of the tortillas clashed horribly with the dip. Overall, if you're looking for a quick Mediterranean-style meal, you might find it acceptable. But if you are craving authentic, carefully prepared Persian food, I'm afraid Shiraz Grill is far from the real thing. The combination of doughy rice, overcooked kabab, and the tortilla-with-hummus misstep made for a disjointed and disappointing dinner.

This is a small and intimate Mediterranean store and restaurant.We tried the baba ganoush.We tried the hummus.We got some baklava.Everything was phenomenal.It tasted homemade.

Found this gem while out in the area. Shiraz Market not only had good products, but also had great food too. Fantastic Mediterranean food with very nice people running it. Great value for money. Oh, and the samosas are amazing too.

You'll find all manner of Mediterranean foods and other items here. Get the gyro! Yummmm. Prices are fair. The market is very clean and well stocked. Staff is helpful and friendly.

Best Persian and Middle Eastern market and food in Central Florida. Ordered the falafel platter, consisting of rice, hummus and a parsley salad mix with bread, and easily feeds two adults! Add some other items from the market and we're set for yummy food for the weekend.

I know I have seen post about this place before, so when my honey told me she was craving some Lebanese style Chicken and Rice, I thought this would be a great place to try in the Longwoood area. I went with the New York Style Chicken, which came with some White Sauce covered Chicken, delicious and super long grained basmati rice, warm bread, hummus, and a small salad. For $10.99, it was a ton of food. My sweetheart had the Chicken Breast Skewer. Which came with a grilled tomato and the same rice, along with some red onion. The people behind the counter were very friendly, and knew many of the customers who came in. Both meals were absolutely delicious, and I am already planning to return next week when I am in the neighborhood.

My colleague and I both enjoy Mediterranean food and I suggested Shiraz Market after checking Yelp for nearby fast casual places with good reviews. Looking for a vegetarian option, I ordered the falafel sandwich with fries and a drink and agreed to spicy tzatziki sauce when asked by the owner, who took our orders and was friendly and helpful. The sandwich was loaded with fresh falafels that boasted a lightly fried exterior and a very moist and rightly spiced interior. You've probably experienced the crunchy and or dry falafels that makes you wonder what you'll get at a the next place you're trying out. No fear here. Enough sauce and green lettuce and red onions in the wrap. Let me tell you about the wrap: fresh in-house made naan bread! All of these ingredients combine to make this an all-around satisfying sandwich. The fries were solid and plentiful. Two small containers of ketchup are included. So good was the sandwich that I returned two days later to buy an falafel sandwich for my colleague who flew in from out of town and for me. This time while I waited, I strolled through the store and found unique (to me) canned and bottled food and candy items. (The grilled olives with garlic looked interesting to me.) I'm glad to have found such a good Mediterranean option in the area and look forward to the next falafel sandwich! Misc.: Seating is counter only up front. Location is a store front and can be accessed off of 434 and also by 17/92.

Anything you order at Shiraz market you can't go wrong. 5 stars for food I can't put down, literally won't put my fork down. We normally order the combo platter, $13 that comes with chicken and ground meat, a fried tomato, basmati rice, lime and some red onions. The potion of rice alone is massive and enough for two people. It comes with tahini and a spicy sauce, I have to say I wish they offered bigger containers. This time we ordered ahead but it wasn't ready when we got there. It was nice to check out their new space, much bigger than Shiraz's previous location. So many different things to explore. Grabbed some Paratha $2, falafel with sesame, $4 and huge pita $2.5. There were so many dips to choose from when we checked out, we grabbed Haydari. It's a yogurt mint dip, excellent with the combo. There's so many things on the counter worth trying, we also got some baklava for dessert. One order comes with 4, for $4. They even let us do two different flavors 2 pistachio and 2 walnut. I love this place I highly recommend it if you haven't tried it!

2nd time customer...fresh tasty food, and great service...it's gonna be my go to for awhile, have to try more and more!! Pictured is a #6...the chicken was freshly grilled white meat so it wasn't dry, the beef was tasty as well, more lettuce is needed and when you get this is, it comes with a thimble sized container of dressing, get two.

I don't know if I can give any more (and very well deserved) hype to Shiraz that they haven't already gotten from Andrew Zimmern's Orlando apology tour, Orlando Weekly's resident gourmand Faiyaz Kara, OG blogger LemonHearted and even State Rep Anna Eskamani. But hey if you've been sleeping on it, gander below. Everything here has its roots in Iranian/Persian culture. In addition to being a great market for all things persian it's got an amazing food counter where you can order take out. Their kebabs are amazing, I typically go for chicken+beef kebab and rice combo ($13), Haydari mint/walnut/garlic/yogurt dip ($5.75) and a 4 piece walnut/pistachio baklava dessert ($4). There is MORE than enough to share here so pace yourself. They don't have online ordering, and they make everything fresh so we perused the store while we waited and I'm so glad we did. We went home with Ziyad Falafel With Sesame ($4), Ashoka Paratha ($2) and a massive pita bag for just ($2.5).

Worth fighting i4 traffic from Orlando! No matter where you live- you have got to try the food at Shiraz Market. I was devastated when the Persian restaurant I found in near UCF shut down a few years back and was so happy when I heard about Shiraz Market! I am Persian and moved to Orlando from the DC area almost 10 years ago and have missed the variety of Persian restaurants (and Persian home cooked meals) but Shiraz Market has filled that void for me. Not only does it remind me of the Persian restaurants in the DC area but it also reminds me of home. I have ordered online and in person and the service is always fast. They do not have much of a seating area since it is inside a market, so I suggest getting it to go and eating at home. 1000% recommend the beef kabobs they're my favorite but everything is great!

What a treat it is to enjoy authentic Middle Eastern food at Shiraz Market! The establishment is a hybrid offering both groceries, pastries, and an assortment of dips, spreads, and food. I like to wander through the aisles while I wait for meal prep. If you'd like to dine in there is a small counter top area at the front of the store, but take out is probably your best bet given the size of the place. My family raves about the gyros and kebab platters. I love the falafel. The best part is the hummus and various spreads. The warm pita is the perfect vehicle for soaking it all up. I also love the fragrant and flavorful tabbouleh. And most importantly, DON'T leave without bringing home some baklava! It is *chef kiss* AMAZING! Next time I am in the market, I am grabbing some Turkish coffee to brew with my next piece of baklava. Excellent prices, tasty food, and friendly service. The kitchen can be a bit slow but totally worth the wait.

I have been shopping at Shiraz market for a few years now. The Persian food selection is amazing! However, I had never ordered from their menu before and have been looking for a great persian spot for kebabs. There are so few in Orlando and none from my town. I placed my order over the phone, I asked for the beef and chicken koobideh. When I arrived I asked again to make sure i was getting the chicken koobideh and was assured it was. Upon making it home (50 minutes away) I opened my meal. It was not chicken koobideh but chicken chunks which was exactly what I did not want. I has requested the chicken koobideh and had asked not one person, but two. Next time I will look before I leave and make the long drive home. The dish also came with parsley and not cilantro which is not traditional Persian food. At least not customary from the part of Iran my family is from. This should be a five star review but it is a 4 for both discrepancies. The food itself was Devine! The rice was buttery and the grains perfectly separated. The kebabs were fresh, flavorful and so authentic! Plump and juicy. Very excited to try the rest of their menu. If only there was a location in the cocoa beach area cause I would go every week!

This is my go to store for deli pastries and take home Turkish coffee. Always a kind staff. I love the offerings here and the newer location is clean and spacious.

Situated off the beaten path of where I normally travel in Orlando. Shiraz Market did NOT disappoint. From the ample parking spaces, the vast array of middle eastern breads, olives, dressings, & sweet treats, not to mention the friendly people working this bustling marketplace - this place is amazing! I ordered the beef koobideh & chicken kabob meal along with a mixed grill gyro, hummus, & tabbouleh. The market was quite busy, with customers coming in/going out every few moments. There are plenty of chefs in the back creating beautiful meals for customers to-go. While waiting for my order, I decided to grab a seat inside (seeing as they have a few stools you can sit on and eat your meal while looking outside.) In all honesty, the way Shiraz Market is serving up Persian food is AMAZING! From the juicy chicken kabobs, tasty beef koobideh, all the way to the perfectly cooked rice - my lunch was delicious! Given the fact that inflation has hit, prices have increased by a few dollars for their menu items (understandable given the circumstances.) Overall, the best Persian food I've had since living in Florida. Come check out this place if you're in the area, I promise - you're going to LOVE it!!

I had the Koubideh Combo! It was very delicious with steak and chicken kabobs, Saffron Basmati rice, a grilled tomato, parsley and red onions. I'm glad I found this place!

Watched an old Zimmer List show about Orlando that featured this market. So I had to stop by this morning. I got the number 4 chicken and rice. It was so good and lots of food. Split it in two and there was plenty leftover. The market had all things middle eastern. The staff was friendly and helpful.

First of all, this place has the best baklava. The walnut baklava here is my favorite. I also had the pistachio baklava and the chicken gyro, both were also delicious and very fresh. There's plenty of other things I need to try from the menu and from the market itself which is packed full of Turkish goodies, so I'll definitely be coming back here.

Terrible food, way over priced. I cannot believe that they are still in business. For the price it is so basic and portions are relatively small. Better places for sure

When Faiyaz suggests you go, you go. This is what led me to a location I've driven past a million times before...the most delectable Shiraz Market. Oh, you'll wonder, how good can it be. Very, it turns out. This family-operated kitchen and market was a delightful surprise going on my 17 years here in Seminole County. My No.1 order was the chicken and beef combo with rice and, by far, the juiciest tomato I have ever been served. My wait was worth it. The chicken was fine, but that beef was outrageously good. Browse the market, as I did, and marvel at dried rose hips, apricots, and drinkable yogurt. I will return for the gyros and falafel plate, to be sure. Given the amount of foot traffic in and out during my visit today, I highly doubt I'll be the only one.

Love this supermarket with their small authentic restaurant! Staff is super friendly and attentive. Dishes are well proportioned for an unbeatable price. Also, try their pastries! Absolutely recommend this place.

Great shopping for Arab Middle Eastern Persian food items, I originally went there to eat. Unfortunately, I got there too early they said the foods not gonna be ready until like 1130, when I looked at the menu, the bread, the salad, everything with extra opposed to having a flat rate and giving you everything so I chose not to eat there because back in California I have great Turkish Persian Middle Eastern, restaurants to eat at

Nice store selection, but prices are high and the Persian food is just garbage. My mothers home cooked beats this place. What an embarrassment to Persian food.

A friend told me that the food was good. Gosh, that's an understatement. I got a beef & chicken kabob dinner. Both beef (ground beef) and. Chicken was delicious. Rice was so good, I could have eaten it alone. Can't wait to go back.

I cannot recommend this place enough! As a Mediterranean food lover, I am always on the hunt for authentic cuisine and this place delivers. Fun fact, it was even featured on the Travel Channel with Andrew Zimmern. It's a hidden gem and the prices are very reasonable for the quality of food. The desserts are to die for! Although it's not a traditional sit-down restaurant, they do have a small seating area. Overall, one of my all-time favorites.

Love this place. I was looking for Turkish tea and not only did I find that but a great selection of middle eastern goodies, hot meals and hot Turkish coffee while I waited for my order. It was worth the drive.

Amazing Prepared meals and also excellent grocery selections as well. I was introduced to this market by my friend Tatiana and I've enjoyed everything that I've eaten. The desert selections are well worth the visit. Stop in and spoil yourself with some amazing Baklava. Staff is very friendly and eager to share knowledge with you if you are new to Mediterranean Cuisine It's definitely a great meal with affordable prices. Homemade ice creams are also available

The food was really good, and soooo cheap! I love it. I was missing all the middle eastern food from where I used to live and this really hit the spot. I got the chicken kabob meal and they threw in a free salad. It was great to pick up food and head out. They also have a lot of great grocery products you can pick up while you're there.

Love love love this place! I've been a few times now and experienced it again today with a new friend. He and I shared the mixed grill kabob platter and Ghormeh Sabzi. Both were delicious! The kabobs of beef and chicken were tender and flavorful. They were served over rice with a grilled tomato as well. Everything was very tasty. Ghormeh Sabzi is a stew of herbs, seasonings, kidney beans, and braised beef chunks. It does not look appealing - a mushy green mess - but we wanted to try something new and were so glad we did. This was delicious and my favorite dish here to date. I had it both over rice and sopped up with fresh lavash bread, and both options are fantastic. We also got tubs of hummus because there's is some of the best I've ever had and you cannot visit and NOT get the hummus. I need to make it on a weekend as they have fantastic looking specials. If you haven't visited Shiraz market yet, do it soon! You're totally missing out.

First time here and Everything is fresh and delicious! We ordered gyro combo,Greek salad , NY style chicken and rice and lamb special recommended by the owner. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Highly recommended

This market makes the best hummus that I've had in Orlando area. They do serve it with hot bread if you asked for it I waited so long to try that lamb shank. I finally tried it Saturday. I was so disappointed that lamb shank didn't really have a good flavor to it. The herbed rice that was served with. It was horrible. I had to throw the rice away. I've been eating, Middle Eastern and Mediterranean, all my life and I've love the white rice and yellow rice. This is so sad I paid 16.00 for that dinner. With the price of food. So disappointed. Oh well I'll stop by from time to time to pick up hummus. I will cook my own lamb shank or chops. Sincerely Cokie

I must review Shiraz before too much time passes. This is their new location, into which they moved in June of 2021. The food dispensing is at the front right where you enter, with a counter-top to your right where customers who want to can enjoy their purchase. The store itself is quite neat, and from what I understand, more spacious than the old location on 427. They have many Middle-Eastern goodies, many of which are, I'm sure, comfort foods and snacks to someone from Lebanon, Iran, or other neighboring countries. They also have a big bank of freezers with frozen foods. The only cashier is where the food stall is, operated by someone who must be the owner; I can see how things might get backed up if the groceries customers also happen to hit when it's peak meal service time. I took mine home to eat - it was good, but perhaps not quite the level of raves that drove my expectations high. I also got some pistachio baklava. Note to anyone playing their credit cards smart - use the one which pays a high cash back rate for GROCERIES, even if you're buying cooked food from them, it counts as groceries. Had I known, I would have earned 6% with my Amex, instead of 1% with my Discover, a difference of (gasp) 75 cents on my little purchase! Don't YOU go making that GRAVE mistake now that you've been warned.

This market is run by a small family with food served inside. My favorite so far is the #6 of two kabobs and a Greek salad. I like to substitute my chicken kabob for a second beef kabob. The beef is just so much more tender and flavorful. I would order the chicken more if it wasn't so dry. I can't wait to come back for more as well as some groceries! The cheese in the salad balances out the raw red onions really well too!!

I love Turkish food. Who doesn't right? First I love that this is a family owned business. They are always friendly and fast in their service. It's their food that keeps me coming back. The falafels are great, not too dense and good flavor. My favorite thing I tried recently was they New York style chicken and rice! I don't know the sauce that's on it but damn! I like spicy and it was the perfect level and the spices were off the hook! I've also had the chicken and beef kebabs which were full of flavor, tender and juicy. My favorite thing though is #10 New York bowl. It's served with hummus and salad. Highly recommend.

At this place you can buy meals but you can also buy groceries and ingredients. The meals are remarkably good, I usually get the chicken kebab combo and I love every single bite. As of the items, I buy pita bread here for my house and it's the best pita bread, the turkish coffee with cardamom is extremely good. Overall this is a 10/10 place and I have the goal of getting to try most of what this magical place has to offer!

I kept hearing from a handful of people how good Shiraz is. So I was excited to finally stop in. Even though it was just before closing time, we had a great experience...and lucky they still had food to serve. This place is popular! The grocery sections are filled with all kinds of goodies. Spices, beans, pastas, tea, coffee, canned goods, milks, cheese.. and much much more. You'll find fresh delicious hummus, tabouli, breads, and sweet treats like baklava. I ordered the chicken kabobs to go. It was delicious chicken a top of rice, onions and a tomato. The portion filled me up for dinner and lunch the next day. Note: they no longer make the falafel sandwich.

This place is fire. After a friend posted some pictures, and after Shiraz Market was featured on some publication, I had to put this market on my target. On previous reviews I have talked about pride, and having pride in the food you make. This place is totally in this mindset. In the exchange I had with the person helping me, he asked me how did I hear of them, and I told him I saw pictures from a friend's feed. He calmly replied, "well, the pictures don't do the food justice". Wow! Talk about being confident. And he was right. I ordered a chicken kabob, which comes with rice and grilled tomatoes. It was all made to order, and obviously delicious. Of course, who eats Persian food without bread or hummus. Luckily, Shiraz Market also makes hummus daily, and they sell an assorted selection of pita breads and others. And these were also incredibly good. The market is quite small though, so if you walk in and there are empty tables, you may consider sitting down. This is not always the case, so don't be disappointed if you have to take out. I think they take phone orders, but I am not sure anymore. If you have to wait for your food, you can walk around and pick up some olive oil, some olives, some juices, etc. Check them out, this place is legit!

This place is way over rated!! They should either stick to being a market or restaurant since they are failing at both!! Picked up two packages of feta and two bags of rice. Once got home opened the feta and it was all crumbled and had a acidic smell to it; on the container did not mention crumbled!! The bag of rice had insects and looked and smelled old!! The next day took it back to the store and the owners attitude left a lot to be desired!! Extremely hostile, rude and refused to to even acknowledge that they were selling expired or rotten food!! His comment was that that's the way he sells his merchandise!! I will be reporting this incident to Better Business Bureau and the Health Department!! STAY AWAY FROM SHIRAZ MARKET

I've been here a couple of times. I love Turkish food. Who doesn't right? First I love that it's a family owned business and they are always very friendly and fast in service. Their food is what makes me come back. Their falafels are not dense and have good flavor. My favorite thing here that I just tried is the New York bowl. I love spicy and it was delicious! You can also get it mild. I don't know the sauce that's on it but damn. They serve it with a salad and hummus. The chicken is so flavorful and not dry. I've also tried the kebabs both chicken and beef and both are flavorful and juicy. The bowl is my favorite. Highly recommend.

Great little market with some great options available for your Mediterranean shopping pleasure! The space is small but well utilized. There is one family sized picnic table if you'd like to dine in but due to spacing and the line invading the table seating I recommend taking out. All of the food is served in to go containers so you can always change your mind (although I would prefer a more environmentally friendly take out dish such as something more compostable or recyclable instead of styrofoam). The cashier was very friendly and inviting when we popped in for lunch. Of note, they do offer a lunch special that is only available on Saturday's- but being my first time in I wanted to try a little everything. So I had the #1 beef and chicken kabob over rice and a grilled tomato, while my wife had the lamb shish-kabob also over rice but came with a small Greek salad. We took this to go as we had limited time; our order took about twenty minutes (which the cashier advised); they were also taking many call-ahead orders during this time. Overall the food was good but a little on the bland side- if it just had some kind of sauce for a punch of flavor it would change the whole dish. Good portion for the cost and conveniently located. Would consider coming here again.

Thanks to yelp. I was able to find this lovely place. You can call ahead. 20 mins later your food is ready. I got the chicken kabob and it was amazing. Chicken was juicy and flavor was on point. I will be back! Loved the whole grocery store / restaurant.

Wow!! What a hidden gem! Finally was able to get some. Please note they stop serving hot food after 5 or 6pm so you'll need to go early. Only take out for now due to covid. The kebab was moist, juicy and perfectly grilled. The rice was so good also. Ohmygawd. Very reasonable price for MASSIVE portion. I'm so full as I'm writing this that I may fall asleep soon lol. You know it's good when it was featured on Andrew Zimmerman's show! Great job Shiraz Market!
