Google
I recently tried Shiromaru, and overall, it was a decent experience. I came mainly for the ramen, which I thought was just okay. It wasn’t bad by any means, but it didn’t stand. The broth was a bit on the lighter side, and the flavor didn’t fully hit that rich, comforting depth I was hoping for. What did surprise me, though, were the sushi and chicken teriyaki rice bowl, both were actually really good. The sushi tasted fresh and well-prepared, with clean presentation and good texture. The chicken teriyaki bowl was flavorful and nicely portioned, with tender chicken and just the right amount of sauce over the rice. The atmosphere was casual and welcoming, and service was friendly and fairly quick. Overall, I’d say Shiromaru is a solid spot if you’re craving a mix of Japanese dishes, especially sushi or teriyaki. The ramen didn’t blow me away, but the other menu items made the visit worthwhile.

I decided to check out this place after a friend had raved. Overall I rate this place closer to 3.5 than an actual 4. Food wise it’s a solid 4. We sampled several selections from Ramen, eel, to sushi. The fresh ingredients harmonized well, like skilled ensemble. Their sushi, while still using top shelf materials felt premade, yet on the higher end of grocery store level. Our son, who is sushi fanatic didn’t finish (which was odd). For reference, we’ve partroned & enjoyed Sushi throughout N.A., various Asian countries (including Japan); we’re seasoned. I’ll say this is in my top 5 for the Detroit area. This is counter order, serve yourself drinks, & find your seat type place. While our server brought the warmest smile, holiday greetings, & great eats, the overall over-crowding, long lined queue, close quarter mall food court-esque atmosphere contributed to a lowered UX. I’ll try to give this another go after the holiday rush and see if my opinion changes. Regardless, I think you can’t go wrong with their offerings when you consider taste, price, & scope.

Google
We went to Shiromaru looking for ramen reminiscent of what we ate in Japan. This definitely hit the spot and exceeded our expectations. The ramen was amazing, the staff was efficient and kind, and the food was served hot and fast. There was about a 30 minute wait for a table but the line moved quickly. The wait is worth it for the thick tender slices of pork! I will definitely be coming back!

Google
Absolutely delicious! The sushi was super fresh, and the ramen broth was rich and flavorful. Everything tasted authentic and well-balanced. It can get a bit busy, so plan your visit accordingly but totally worth it!

Google
I can’t stop thinking about this ramen 🤤—the pork belly alone delivered one of the most decadent flavor profiles I’ve ever experienced 🤩 I clearly wasn’t the only one who felt that way; the moment we sat down, a line stretched from the register all the way to the door and even spilled outside. 🍜 It was truly a full sensory experience, and the perfect dish to warm your body, mind, and soul during this cold Michigan winter. 🥶 ✨

Friday night at 7p is SO busy! As first timers we had no idea! Waited in line to order for 30 minutes. You order as you walk in and fingers crossed on seating. They really cram everybody in- like sharing a table with strangers. Sharing napkins and soy sauce with them. The waitress pulled a couples 4 top table into a 2 top for us and it was snug! I don't see anybody commenting about that... it really kills the vibe of being able to sit and feel comfortable dining sitting lunchroom style. Otherwise, we got the classic bowls and the classic crunchy yellow tail sushi. The bowls were delicious and knocked our socks off! So much ramen to enjoy. The sushi was good but boring. I wouldn't get another classic sushi if i went back, but my friends was super good!! I would go back for sure, but absolutely not during prime time.

Google
We were in on Black Friday, the place had a huge line, but that didn't phase this team. The cashier was doing an amazing job keeping the line, phone and take out orders flowing. You can tell they have a cohesive team that works well. Place was really clean and bussers did a good job of flipping tables. The rolls are amazing, Red Tiger and temp mango were our favorites of the 6 we tried. All were amazing 👏

Google
The ramen and sushi were excellent, I've been here a few times and it has never disappointed. Service was very fast, food came out quick, good variety of unique drinks and meals. Would highly recommend.

Yelp
I've stopped by and had ramen here several times with friends and have been ordered take out once as well. I mainly stick with the Shoyu ramen with extra egg and pork with the spice on the side. It's absolutely delicious and my go to order! I recommend if you can coming here during the week and it's super crowded on the weekend and you'll more than likely have a wait but the food is well worth it. The staff seem to be working as fast as they can as well. My only gripe with almost every ramen spot is that I feel like it's never big enough. I completely get it, it's not a Texas road house but they always feel super tiny to me but it's a non factor really since the food is always amazing!

Yelp
Pull up to Shiromaru in Troy, Michigan, and the first thing that hits me? The crowd. This place is always packed--always a promising sign. I come on a mission though: ramen. Tonkotsu ramen, to be exact. Now, I don't throw this around lightly--I'm a full-blown ramen snob. But this bowl? Beyond reproach. The noodles had bite, the broth was rich and deep, the ramen egg was perfect. Justice was served. But here's the kicker: the star of the entire meal isn't the ramen. It is the gyoza. Yeah, I said it. Those dumplings came out with a level of crispness I can't even begin to explain. Gyoza is usually the appetizer you order by default, something to nibble on before the main act. Not here. At Shiromaru, the gyoza came to steal the show.

Yelp
Not sure why I haven't reviews this place before, but it's really taken off. Went a couple times over the last several weeks to try to dine in then to pickup a to-go order. Both times there was a line out the door and a slow, but moving wait for a table. We ended up getting our order to go because we had kids in tow so wasn't going to wait for a table, etc. however we probably should've waited since the line did move and patrons did vacate their tables at a decent clip. The staff are always very friendly and efficient at cleaning the tables. I always see the same few people working the register and they are good at their jobs. Online ordering was a snap although it did take the 30-40 min it said it would. Tip for pickup is to not wait in line but to go to the register at the side and ask for your pickup order (I felt bad doing this the first time, since you're skipping the line, but it's what is expected) Food is excellent. From the ramen to the sushi we've tried it all. The family + kids are fans of the sushi, miso soup, and ramen. We split a ramen and a couple rolls for our first meal for the adults with the kids wanting miso soup and classic rolls. Then I got a few rolls of sushi by myself another time. It's got some fun and different rolls plus the classics. It's right up there with noble fish on freshness but you have so many more options for food and dine in available. The space is similar to a fast casual restaurant where you order at the register, they give you a number and you find/wait for a table to open up and seat yourself. Then when your food is ready they bring it to the table. They will bus your table when you're done and you get your own drink from the cooler or soda fountain. It's pretty efficient.

Yelp
On our third attempt to eat here, we finally got a table. It was still packed with a line out the door for lunch on a Tuesday. Don't expect to get a table for dinner, especially on weekends. The ramen was great, definitely a good competitor with other popular ramen spots in metro Detroit. They have a variety of appetizers and sushi rolls as well. Prices are as expected. Employees were nice. Overall it's unlikely I'll return, there are many other ramen places around that are just as good and come with way less hassle, less waiting outside in the line in the cold!

Yelp
1. Food- this was beyond satisfying; it was my first time having a tonkatsu and it did not disappoint. So much flavor all packed into this amazing bowl. The pork belly was so tender and the mushroom was just as amazing. It says the noodles are made fresh in house daily, I guess now I can compare it to other places for reference. I will probably get this every time I'm here. The white dragon roll was fresh and delicious. The fried gyoza was some of the best I've had. 2. Service- you order at the counter, they give you a number and the food comes out surprisingly quick. They are polite and helpful and will gladly make recommendations. 3. Ambiance- it's a decent sized place, there are several high tops and regular tables that are shared. It's clean and they are on top of their game here. It's so hard now a days to find food that you get excited about when you go out, but this place will make it worth your time!

Yelp
This place is a sleeper gem. I didn't expect to have good ramen in the "middle of nowhere" as someone from California. I got the black king and there was SO much chashu in there I couldn't even finish. Flavor profile was awesome and getting the chili on the side was great to add however much we wanted.
google avatar

Billy L.

Yelp
I went here with my son based on Yelp reviews. It was like 4-1/2 stars with 300 reviews- way better than any other sushi restaurants in the area. It did not disappoint! Based on the look of the restaurant from the outside- this would not have been my first choice. But looks are deceiving some times! You go up to the counter to order and they deliver your food to the table. It was a small wait, but the place was packed and the food was so good! We both like spicy food, so we were picking spicy rolls and the server taking our order told us her favorites and other popular foods that people order. I'm not even sure which was which - but they were all delicious! I rarely give 5 stars but this place deserves it. The food quality was really good, presentation was great and the taste was amazing!

Yelp
It is crazy in here. So busy. We were unsure at first when we pulled in if we want to deal with the giant line. The parking is convenient is located in the plaza. We were able to do that easily. But we were in a long line and it was hustling in there. Basically you order at the counter. Find a table and I'll bring it to you later on. They make the Ramen noodles. Oh my gosh, I can see the hype . After trying the noodles understanding how delicious they were. I would most definitely want to come back. The flavor was so rich. The meat was so good. Everything was absolutely delicious and I want more and more and more.

Yelp
I think this was a sushi/ramen place before, but it changed quite a few years back and got remodeled. I used to frequent this area a lot when there was a bagel spot a few doors down but haven't really been to this corner in quite some time. I finally got a chance to stop in on a Sunday and I regret not coming sooner. It's a wonderful sushi and ramen spot with plenty of options to eat for everyone. I spent about 10 minutes studying the menu because I couldn't decide on one item to eat! The ramen and udun selection is good because not all the choices are pork based. Sushi has some popular picks and there's a few other good choices on here as well. I went with one of the sushi combo's for $16 which comes with 8 pieces of salmon (or tuna) sushi along with 3 salmon (or tuna) niri along with miso soup, my favorite. The food was fresh, tasty and hit the spot with portion sizes. The counter staff was friendly, educated and answered all the questions I had (and there was a lot of questions.) I love how the place is clean and well decorated with plenty of seating options. Will return in the future to try more off the menu!

Yelp
The BEST fried Gyoza you will ever have! We stumbled across this place a few months ago and have ordered here many times since for a quick bite to eat or a full meal. My wife usually gets multiple kinds of sushi rolls and I will get a noodle dish or rice bowl. The star of the show for us is the Gyoza! Cooked to perfection, not too greasy, full of pork or chicken! It pretty busy in the evening so order ahead! The dining room is a bit small but if you can find a seat, that's a bonus for you! If the line is out the door, respectfully of course, you can walk past everyone to the side counter to pick up your order. Bring the card with you that you made the purchase though, new requirements as of late.

Yelp
TLDR: This ramen place serves an impressive yet unpretentious ramen, complemented by other fresh dishes. The service was great. For my dinner meal, I ordered the Yellow Tail Ponzu and the Black Garlic Tonkotsu Ramen. When I got my food, I received both orders at the same time, alongside a chili oil container and a small dish to pour some soy sauce to dip in. The small dish was unnecessary for the Yellow Tail Ponzu. The fish, laid over thinly sliced cucumber and topped with ponzu and a pinch of chili flakes on top, provided a very refreshing start to the meal. It is unusual for the sashimi to be served already coated with sauce and served with anything but soy sauce, ginger, and wasabi, but in this scenario the combination worked very well. The ramen, though, was most impressive. It comes out unassuming in a bowl with not too many toppings, only with 3 chunks of chashu, some earwood mushroom, some thinly sliced bamboo, and half a poached egg. However, the deep flavor of the broth more than made up for it. Oddly, the broth didn't have a strong garlic flavor, but I assume it is because they roasted it all the way through to make it very subtle. The egg was cooked to gooey perfection, and despite one of the chashu piece being cut with the grain instead of against, the fat and the meat both melted in your mouth. Near the end of my meal, I was curious as to why I was given a chili oil to go with the ramen, given the ramen seemed complete in flavor. Normally, I would judge a ramen based on the broth that comes out with it, but I was obliged to give the chili oil a try. I am happy to say that it somehow added more flavor to the bowl beyond pure spiciness. The chili oil by itself tasted similarly to a Chinese meat sauce (家常肉酱). I would recommend for anyone coming here to add the chili oil to their ramen. This is a place I would come back to even if I needed to drive a little further.

Yelp
Tried this for the first recent after seeing their recent social media buzz. It seemed very lively on a Thursday night. The carry out was very well packed. I wasn't blown away by the sushi but enjoyed the ramen. I'll have to try it again sometime.
google avatar

Bedria P.

Yelp
Very good. I had the house special. I forgot to add heat. But did it when it arrived at the table. Broth flavorful and pork belly cooked to perfection. Place was packed but service was good. Got a table quickly! Will definitely be back to try sushi!
google avatar

Sohaib L.

Yelp
Regular spot we keep going back to. Sometimes they have a line out of the door, but line moves quickly. Their customer service is excellent although one time I felt rushed to finish my food as they kept coming to pick up the dishes before I was even finished
google avatar

Rena P.

Yelp
Brought my parents here and they both loved it. The ramen is probably the best you can get in the area! I tried their sushi last time and would definitely recommend!! You know it's good there's always a line out the door
google avatar

Jessica L.

Yelp
I think this is a ramen shop I'd be willing to travel for! By far the best and cleanest ramen I've had in a long time. Shiromaru is a sit down restaurant where you order at the counter and eat at booths. The cashier was super sweet and complimented my boyfriend's and my outfit. The interior is classic and simple, and you can enjoy a conversation with friends easily. The classic tonkatsu ramen was super clean and made from pork bone broth. It was delicious! I wanted to drink every last drop of broth. The black tonkatsu ramen is rich and had a pleasant garlic aroma. Both ramens had huge portions of meat, and they immediately melt in your mouth. Lastly, the black dragon specialty roll was fresh! The tempura inside was still crispy. I'll have to come back and try their other menu items soon!
google avatar

Izzy W.

Yelp
I've been hearing good things about Shiromaru so I was super excited to try some of their ramen! I ordered the black tonkotsu which is supposed to have a black garlic tonkotsu broth. I was really impressed with the amount of pork that they give you and the noodles were fresh and delicious, I love that you can watch them being made as you walk in! I was honestly a little disappointed in the broth, it didn't have a noticeable garlic flavor but it was nice and creamy which is what I'm looking for when I get tonkotsu. It's counter service and super quick to get your food. It was kind of packed in there and it got kind of loud but I'm sure that's only when it's super busy on a weekend night.

Shreya B.

Yelp
I got the veggie ramen and loved it! The noodles were incredible. The line was about 25 minutes for lunch on a Saturday, but it was definitely worth it.
google avatar

Ailun H.

Yelp
Shiromaru is a cafeteria-style Japanese restaurant where you order at the counter, take a number, and find an empty table to sit and wait. They're known for their ramen, but my friend and I were feeling something lighter and cleaner, so we ordered udon. UDON - 13 This udon came with imitation crab, 1/2 of a marinated egg, shiitake mushrooms, some green onion and crunchy flakes. The broth was light, but incredibly salty to the point where it was unbearable. I poured some of my water in it to dilute the sodium levels. The shiitake mushrooms soaked up the broth too well, so they were also really salty. There was nothing about the udon that deserves praise. For a restaurant, this was disappointing. My friend got the udon and thought similarly. Meh, I don't think I would be back. I hope their ramen is better than the udon we ordered.
google avatar

Queenieko M.

Yelp
Finally gave this place a try and it was interesting. I didn't hate it nor did I love it. I would give it another try. I did enjoy how thick the pork meat for the ramen was and the amount. It was filling. I wasn't too sure I how I felt about the broth. Prices weren't too bad either for the portion size. The tables were kinda crammed and I didn't like that too much. Decor was nice and fit the theme. Service was nice too. The people at the counter were nice. The cooks in the back also spoke to us. The watching of the fresh noodle making was cool too.
google avatar

Leah S.

Yelp
Ordered carryout and just WOW. This is the best ramen I've had in a long time. I got the veggie ramen with some spice on the side...absolutely delicious. The broth was so flavorful. My coworker got a different type of ramen with pork belly and she was equally impressed! She said her experience was a little odd with the employees when she picked up the food, but nothing bad at all. I can't speak on experience of dining in, so this review is purely on the food alone.
google avatar

Kate U.

Yelp
I think we found THE best Ramen spot in metro Detroit after visiting this place yesterday. We tried both the red and black pork belly ramen and they were both incredible. They give you the hot chili oil on the side, word to the wise...use this sparingly. The flavor of the broth is so good on its own that you don't want to mask it with too much spice. The ramen noodles were delicious, the pork was tender, and the broth had a creamy taste to it. Honestly the best ramen broth I've ever had. We didn't try the sushi or any of the appetizers, but those looked delicious as well. From a service standpoint, it's really convenient to order. You put your order in at the counter, order your food, and sit down with a number and they bring it to your table. We came on a Sunday when it was relatively busy and didn't have to wait more than 15 minutes to get our food. The restaurant is very clean and there's actually more space than I thought there would be for seating. All in all, great experience and if you're craving ramen in the metro Detroit area, this is where you should go!
google avatar

Aliya S.

Yelp
The ramen was amazing! The broth is super rich with just the right amount of spice. My friend was able to mix two broths together and she loved it! The ambiance is very casual and clean. The service was nice, you order before you sit down and they do bring the food out to you. I'd give this restaurant a 5 star, but my only complaint is the buns. It seemed like just a cheap frozen chicken tender with a piece of lettuce and some sauce that wasn't even spicy. Definitely not worth the price.
google avatar

Lisa F.

Yelp
I get take out for lunch and it is fresh, and flavorful and oh, so filling. Pork belly bowl- get it!!
google avatar

Monica T.

Yelp
The ramen here is delicious. I been here a few times and alwaya had great food and experience with the service . The place is spacious so there is plenty of seats and family friendly. It is not a fancy place, just a typical design that offers delicious food.
google avatar

Vincent L.

Yelp
Shiromaru maybe the best ramen place in metro Detroit. Why, because they make their own noddles, and they give u good portions. Meat are thick cuts while other places are thin ASF or they only give u one slice. Broth are amazing too , u can drink the whole bowl. Back to toppings, they actually put efforts into making the toppings instead of only aesthetic looks. Same prices as Ima and other places but better quality. Because it is so good that there is a wait time even after lunch hours.
google avatar

Tony M.

Yelp
I've had Shiromaru in my bookmarks for a while, and we needed something different for dinner. We went there, and it's a lovely, small place. You put your order in at the counter and then pretty quickly it's delivered to your table. Service is great, but it's relatively small, so you may have to wait for a seat. Don't worry, it won't take long. The food was stunning. The broth is so silky and luscious, you're going to finish it all (or as much as you can). Come hungry, the portions are generous and very filling. Everything we've had, including the sushi, have been amazing. We've brought the kids several times, and they're also huge fans. If you're in the mood for this kind of food or something different, definitely give it a try. Easily the best ramen places I've ever been to. I hope to try some of the other things on the menu, but when what you've had is so good, you kind of want to have more.
google avatar

Abbie C.

Yelp
We waited in line for about 15 minutes in the evening. You order first and then seat yourself. It was busy and crowded. For the type of ramen it is, it's average. I don't think they really have any competitors in Troy for this style of Ramen at this time. I would say there isn't any service aside from tables being cleared at the end. Even the water and beverages are self serve up at the counter.
google avatar

Joie F.

Yelp
When we went it was super packed and the food explains it ! The ramen broth is so tasty and rich and the meat is super tender. We also got the pork bowl which was a great portion. Sushi was bomb
google avatar

Elizabeth E.

Yelp
Delicious ramen and sushi! We stopped in for some warm ramen and were not disappointed! The interior is pretty simple. The service once we ordered was quick, we'd tried to dine in last weekend but it was packed, for good reason. The food is delicious! I do wish they had a seafood ramen but overall would highly recommend checking this place out!

Alan K.

Yelp
First time. Not my type of food. I had a Deluxe Bowl, Poke Bowl, indifferent. No service to speak of. Wait in line to order at counter. You get a number and someone brings food to your table, open seating, wait for someone to clear table. The people that brought the food and cleaned the tables were friendly. Typical strip mall restaurant. Busy at lunch. Close seating, so serves a larger than normal crowd. Unlikely to return. I prefer Sashimi.

Ronald M.

Yelp
I've been a regular customer for a couple years. Best Ramen I've ever had. However, that is not the reason I'm leaving this review. I had lunch there today and I left my wallet behind on the table unknowingly. I had just received cash from a new client and had a significant amount of money in the wallet. About four hours later, I realized I didn't have my wallet. Fortunately I have AirTags in the wallet that showed it was at the restaurant. I went racing up there to discover the owner had wrapped it up in saran wrap to make sure that nothing fell out and had waited for me to return. His wife had found it. They returned it in perfect condition. Honest people. That's what I'll call them. Honest, good cooking people who have earned a very loyal customer.

Yelp
Food was amazing! It was pretty busy when we went but we were able to get our food pretty quickly!

Yelp
Scenery: 6/10 Nothing special here--just your standard restaurant setup with typical seating. There's supposedly a side room where they make the noodles, but I've never actually seen anyone in there doing the work. Taste: 8.25/10 The taste is consistently great, which is why I keep coming back, usually 2-3 times a month. The pork? Top-tier, no question. Presentation isn't the strongest, but hey, it's ramen--a budget-friendly meal where taste is what really matters, and they absolutely deliver on that. Service: N/A You order at the counter, grab a number, and they bring your food to the table. Straightforward and efficient, nothing to rate here. Value: 7.5/10 The Classic Tonkotsu with spice on the side runs $16 before tip. For comparison, in Japan, you can get top-tier ramen for around $12, and honestly, it's better there. But this is America, and inflation is what it is. If the bowls here were $10, I'd probably be here every week. At the current price, it's still worth it, just not a frequent indulgence.
google avatar

Dave M.

Yelp
Great raman spot with a nice buzz and great food. What a great place. The people are really nice and helpful, the food is fresh and well prepared. Tasty! Got the Black Tonkotsu per the chef's recommendation and it was really tasty! Casual, fast service and big menu. It's not cheap, but I think it is a good value considering portions and quality.

Dmitry K.

Yelp
Simply the best tonkatsu in Oakland county, very authentic. Great selection of food and fried gyoza is also some of the best.
google avatar

Claudia K.

Yelp
Holy hell. Best ramen we've ever had. Tampopo level slurping was happening with the chicken black garlic ... plus this spicy stuff they brought to the table to add to the top. As we were leaving we noticed a lady making the noodles in house. We got sushi too but it's almost not worth mentioning. It was great, but the ramen was next level.
google avatar

Jenny P.

Yelp
First time here and I'm really enjoying this place. Casual eatery and was fairly busy during lunch on a Saturday but no wait time while I was here. You order at the counter and bring table number with you. The sushi also was impressive so far and I enjoyed the ramen. Would definitely come back!
google avatar

Codie Nicole A.

Yelp
I could not have picked a better day then this snowy day I decided to pop in Shiromaru. It's been on my list for awhile; usually I go to Ginza. Was pleasantly surprised with this ramen, it was delicious. You walk in and order at the counter and take a number to a seat of choosing. Decent sized area to wait to order. Also menus to look at if needed besides digital board above. I arrived on a Friday around 11:30 and it quickly filled up! I ordered a hot tea as well. The flavor of the broth was delicious and hit the spot! I wish the spicy would've been spicier but regardless the flavors were amazing and everything was fresh and piping hot! I really like how thick the cut of pork were and also the seasonings on it! I feel like usually most pork's are bland this was delicious and left me wanting more. Good portions, clean restaurant, and friendly and hustling staff!
google avatar

Rodney P.

Yelp
Great food. The dining experience is very casual. Good for families. For the price, it is a very enjoyable experience.
google avatar

Rachel T.

Yelp
They expanded their menu and improved some of the items. The only con is the price is a tad bit too high.

Bobby N.

Yelp
Best ramen I've had since moving to MI. The staff are really welcoming and good vibes all around. Definitely will be back.
google avatar

Jennifer M.

Yelp
Best ramen that I've had in Michigan, and trust me, I've tried a lot of places. You order the food up front and they'll bring your order to your table if you dine in. This was mine and my friend's first time coming here and our cashier was helpful with answering any questions that we had. My friend and I both enjoy spicy food, per the cashier's recommendation, we went with the classic tonkatsu with the spice on the side. You can order the spicy tonkatsu (called red tonkatsu) but we wanted to try the broth without the spice as well. Glad that we did it this way so we were able to taste the difference. We both personally enjoyed adding the spiciness to the broth. Will definitely come back and will probably get the red tonkatsu instead next time. Very generous portion. I was starting to struggle with finishing my bowl. Packed with ingredients and broth was so tasty! Good amount of seatings and the tables were clean. Nice place for lunch/dinner. I plan on coming back and trying more things on the menu!

Yelp
This is more of a walk in, place order, and then food is delivered to your table which is a great concept for those looking for a quick bite. Regardless, the service was quick and efficient. The ramen was amazing and the broth was well made. The salmon bowl had a very generous portion! My only comment is I wish it had more sauce and a larger variety of ingredients included. I would come back though!

Yelp
This lovely spot, nestled in the heart of Troy (off of Big Beaver), has redefined the art of ramen, offering a dining experience that is both comforting and invigorating. The minimalist decor, with its wooden tables, soft lighting, and open kitchen concept, creates a cozy yet vibrant atmosphere that will make you feel right at home. By the way, the last time I savored such fine Ramen was during my time in NYC in 2022. This is self-service, so you need to get your rear off your chair and go up to the counter to order your meal and drinks. Don't worry; they will give you a number to place on your table, and a worker will deliver your food to your table. Entree: Black Tonkotsu [Rich and creamy pork bone broth with freshly house-made ramen noodles, pork belly chashu, half marinated egg, green onion, bamboo, kikurage (wood ear mushroom). - blended with house-special black garlic sauce.] Broth: The soul of any exceptional ramen is its broth, and Shiromaru does not disappoint. The Black Tonkotsu, a creamy and rich pork bone broth, stands out. Noodles: They have the perfect amount of chewiness, retaining their texture even as they soak up the flavorful broth. Whether you opt for the classic straight ramen or the curly variety, the noodles are a textural delight. Toppings: The toppings at Shiromaru are where creativity meets tradition. The tender slices of chashu pork are marinated to perfection, offering a melt-in-your-mouth experience. The soft-boiled marinated egg, with their slightly runny yolks, are a must-try--they add a luxurious richness to each bite. The crunchy bamboo shoots and fresh scallions provide a delightful contrast. Overall, Shiromaru is a must-try destination for any ramen enthusiast or anyone simply looking for a memorable meal. Combining rich, flavorful broths with perfectly crafted noodles, and inventive toppings makes each bowl a unique and satisfying experience. I'm already looking forward to returning with friends and family to explore more of the menu and dive into other compelling offerings; there's so much more to discover and savor. If you haven't visited Shiromaru yet, make sure to add it to your list--you won't be disappointed!

Yelp
Best bao buns you'll have in all of Michigan, also recommend their tonkatsu ramen. Service is super friendly as well since it's family owned. Pork bao buns: 9/10 Tonkatsu ramen: 8.5/10

Yelp
Shiromaru kept popping up on my feed, so I had to give it a try. I ordered the Red Paitan Ramen and the Pork Belly Bun. The ramen came in a generous portion, the ingredients were fresh, and the flavor was solid, though I did add a splash of soy sauce to bring out the depth a bit more. The pork belly bun was fresh, with tender meat that hit the spot. Service was quick and efficient, but just a heads-up you place your order at the counter instead of table service. Overall, a tasty and convenient spot worth checking out.

Yelp
Wow! The ramen here is exquisite and it's a wonder why this place isn't packed all the time! I've been here a couple of times, and it has been a hit. The service is great, and I really love being able to order food at the counter and sit where you please. Makes the whole process so much more efficient. The decor is pretty standard and nothing to really write home about. The last time I came here, I got the classic tonkatsu ramen. Wow, the broth was so unctuous, creamy, and flavorful! Not too salty and delightfully sippable. It came with a great amount of toppings. The noodles were nicely chewy (though I prefer ramen with wavy noodles). The char siu pork slices were significant and so very tender and fatty. The egg was perfectly marinated and soft boiled. Excellent stuff! Will have to come back and try their other selections

Yelp
Shiromaru offers some of the best ramen in town, with rich flavors and satisfying bowls that keep customers coming back. However, the sushi is underwhelming and can easily be skipped. It's a quick, casual spot for dining, though it tends to get busy, so plan accordingly.
