Shirvan Hotel & Spa

I've been to this hotel twice now. I enjoyed it last year when I came, and this year it has only improved! The staff are very courteous, the rooms are comfortable, the amenities are excellent. I especially enjoy the incredible panoramic views from the restaurant on the 10th floor. You can look out over the town of Shamakhi and see up into the surrounding mountains. It's breath taking.

the hotel itself was good. by that, i mean the food was good, rooms were comfortable, and parking spaces were provided. however, when we checked in & checked out, problems occured. as i am visiting with my family, they asked for a marriage certificate! never heard that from any other hotel before. so, just in case, i think you should bring your marriage certificate with you if you are married. when we checked out, they accused us of taking a water bottle from a mini bar! guests before us were accused of that as well. this is just horrible! also, on the phone, we talked about us paying 85 man. turns out, there's 18% tax added on to it as well, which wasn't mentioned in the call at all! so, either we paid 85man in cash, or 85+18%tax with a credit card. this is just madness. straight up madness.

Great sauna and heated indoor pool, both free to use for residents, which alone made the roughly 50 USD a night price seem very attractive. Breakfast is adequate but may fall short of the 5 stars the hotel boasts (several cheeses, cold cuts and dips but no espresso, only instant freeze dried coffee).

Well, I bet on that we were the only guests there, but everything was well prepared, except the breakfast, which was absolutely horrible, even for two star hotel, no juices, staff was not experienced. But the hotel has nicely done amenities like pool, saunas, spa at all, very friendly staff, but it was really strange that nobody can speak English, except the young, kind woman at the reception, day shift, who was from Russia, probably came only to serve us, foreign customers. But I recommend it.

Hotel declared as 5* hotel but while you stay there you can not find any stars :) this is pure 1 star , max 2 stars hotel. If you dont have any other choice to stay overnight here then you are welcome. Bathroom is awful. No hot water in tap:( sleep quality = 1star. ||The only good thing is nice view from the window

In the room, in the corridor, next to the lifts etc. Hello!!??? This is 2016!||||This hotel has a lot of potential, but doesn't really deliver. No one except one Russian lady speaks English.

Awesome hotel, was amazed to see from inside in a relatively not so developed area, we had the kings suite and it was too good. The room was divided between bedroom and sitting area by a revolving tv that can be adjusted for both sides, and view from the room is breathtaking , after stating here i realized that shamaki is underrated place.the hotel have its own parking which is very strong point for me as my last stay was in four square baku with no parking at all

The hotel almost maintains a level. Not very clean, I think this is due to the fact that there are not many guests at the hotel. The restaurant staff does not know English. There are no most dishes on the menu.
