"A kappo with service by a couple in chef’s whites. Having both studied Kyoto cuisine, this husband-and-wife divide cooking duties between them. The husband prefers subtler seasoning, always to be accompanied by local sake from Yamagata. The rice, Koshihikari from Uonuma, is delivered from the proprietress’ hometown, cooked in a broad-rimmed cooking pot and patiently transferred to a wooden container. The aroma of incense wreathes the shop in a gentle, quietly soothing Japanese ambience." - Michelin Inspector

One of the most intimate, friendly, and welcoming atmospheres I've ever experienced. The food is nothing short of innovative and the menu chages everyday depending on what's freshly available. This wasn't just dinner, it was a cultural experience. If you can find a reservation, don't miss it. P.s. The value for money is extremely high too

Fantastic Japanese restaurant run by an amazing couple who are so warm and welcoming to their guest. The food is absolutely delightful. The chef will also give you good recommendations for Sake pairings in case you are a novice. The service is extremely warm and caring and both the lady and the gentleman chef’s went over and beyond to explain to us about each dish and the ingredients that go behind making them. As we left, the chef even gave us small tweaks from the Muji tree, which they had used to make the tea that they served at the end. I will definitely recommend this restaurant to everyone . It has a quaint neighbourhood feel and you will not be disappointed with the overall experience. Also, it’s one of the best value for money restaurants that I’ve been to in Tokyo

Best place we have been to in Tokio! The owners were very attentive and tried to explain everything in english as well as they could. It was a once in a lifetime experience, it was like watching two artist at work making our food. They were also super sweet. We had a great 4 hours and will return if we ever get the chance! Book in advance because there are only a few seats available.

We got scammed by AutoReserve - our reservation was never made (nor this restaurant accepts this website). But the person genuinely tried to help us by connecting us with English speaking customers to understand the situation. A unique experience of Kaisekiryoruri for a reasonable price! Certainly you'll fall in love woth the food and service. Only point is that its a counter seat restaurant. It may not be a choice for thpse looking for a table seating.
