"Known for piping-hot bowls of umami-rich ramen at its Blue Diamond Road and Eastern Avenue locations, Shogun Ramen is opening a third outpost inside the Canteen Food Hall." - Janna Karel

Ramen: We ordered the shogun ramen. The broth did lack a little depth and umami, the egg was cooked perfectly, the pork was a little pale and lacked the crispness I am used to but did melt in the mouth, the noodles were the more thin type and slightly aldente. All in all though it was still tasty. Order through the kiosk and they will text you when ready, we opted to "dine-in" which involved sitting at the bar top. The atmosphere at this food court is nice and everything is clean. The staff is friendly and helpful, there is a station for utensils.

It’s been a while since I’ve been to the Rio, so I was really excited to check out the Canteen food hall. Out of all the restaurants, I decided to go with the Ramen spot. I ordered directly through the kiosk which made the process go smoothly. After 10-15 minutes I received the text letting me know that my food was ready for pickup. There’s a self-service area with utensils, napkins, and condiments that you can grab to accompany your meal. I ordered the Shogun Ramen and it was presented elegantly in a large traditional bowl. There was plenty of warm broth, chewy noodles, and abundance of delicious toppings. The pork was rich and fatty which paired wonderfully with the fresh veggies. Everything mingled so well together especially when you take a bite of that perfectly cooked jammy egg. As for the broth, it was definitely on the bland side. It was missing those deep and complex umami flavors, which to me is the most important part of the ramen.

I think it was good and not a waste of money not sure why there are so many bad reviews, nothing to write home about but it’s still really good and I am happy with my $15 purchase

Google
I ordered regular shogun ramen. Sorry to say but this is the worst ramen noodles I have ever tasted. both New York City and Miami offer much better choices. The broth tastes super far. The noodles tastes half raw. And the portal had too much fat on it. I couldn’t finish the bowl. Started it and just couldn’t after a few bites. Should have had a sandwich next door.

Google
Their Shogun Ramen signature bowl is one of my top favorites. It does have same flavor profile as from their other 2 locations. The aesthetic of this place is excellent . Unfortunately my ramen did not came with nori and tamago as they might have ran out that day. I wish they had offered to replace them with other toppings.

Talk about staple, consistency food! I’ve been visiting this canteen for many times since Rio converted this space to Canteen. Every here delicious, affordable! I have to mention Shogun ramen today because man how good and amazing portion and price this place is. Would definitely recommend to anyone if you need hot soup, savory broth, perfect amount of ingredients. Yum!

Google
I love Shogun Ramen. The rich broth of the ramen is truly captivating. The noodles have a perfect texture, firm and satisfying. Each flavorful ingredient complements the others beautifully. This is a dish that offers comfort and a delightful culinary experience. It's a pleasure to savor every last drop.

This Japanese ramen joint in the food court is a hidden gem! The chicken broth was packed with flavor—totally worth a repeat order. Don’t sleep on it!

Yelp
They ran out of Tonkatsu Ramen and everything else on a Saturday night 7pm (they closes at 9 pm) Chicken Ramen was only available so we ordered that. It literally was G.R.O.S.S. :-( The best part was the noodle. I wished the broth and the chicken breast meat tasted better. The soup broth was so bland! I even think they ran out of the chicken broth and just added hot water and a whole LOT of black pepper. It tasted like hot water broth with a lot of black peppper!! The chicken breast was thick dried tasteless huge chunk. It left a really bad taste in my mouth and I'm sorry to say it was the worst bowl of ramen I've ever had in my life.. Sorry. :-( we ordered 3 bowls and my friends all said it wasn't good at all.

Yelp
3.25 Stars - Decent Eats, Confusing Service I stopped by The Canteen food court in the Rio and decided to get the chicken tonkatsu bowl from Shogun Tonkatsu & Curry. The food was decent, but there were a few things that made it kinda meh. Food: The flavor of the chicken tonkatsu bowl was decent, but it definitely could have used a little something extra. Unfortunately, they didn't have any condiments like hot sauce to top it with, which was a miss. Service: This was a bit confusing. The service was quick once I ordered from the counter, but they don't bring the food to you, even if you're sitting at the "bar" area around the shop. They call your name to pick it up at the counter, which I didn't realize until 5-10 minutes after they had called me. I was waiting for hot food and didn't know I had to go get it myself. Value: The bowl was $13, which is an okay price, but the portion size felt like it could have been slightly more for what you're paying. Physical Location: The area is clean and well-kept, which is a definite plus. Being part of the new Canteen food court, it had a good, modern feel to it. Overall, the food is a solid option if you're in the Rio food court, but be prepared to listen carefully for your name to avoid your food getting cold!

Yelp
I dined at Shogun Ramen located in the Rio at their Canteen Food Hall. I had a dining credit from Rio so it was free! Can't complain about that! I got the Shogun Ramen which for $14 is actually a pretty good deal for being inside a casino resort. I paid more at several places off the strip in Chinatown. It came standard with a decent amount of toppings. I ordered extra noodles which honestly wasn't necessary since the portions are already large and I was struggling to finish. I only did that because I was $3 shy from my $25/night food credit and wanted to fully use it up. I did wish the noodles were thicker though! You can easily order through the Canteen Food Hall website and you have the ability to apply the dining credits and also mix and match from a variety of vendors!

Yelp
Delicious ramen made fresh to order inside the Rio Hotel and Casino! The Shogun Ramen was cooked perfectly with amazing flavor and perfectly cooked pork, noodles and egg. Service was impeccable and my order was prepared fresh and fast. The decor is very modern with a Japanese flare of wooden accents and bar top seating as they would in Japan. The prices are very fair for being inside a casino and definitely recommend Shogun Ramen!

Yelp
First time trying the Rio Resort and Casinos - Food court and YUMMY ! Chef Damon Thomas was great ! They have six different food options - Burgers. Sushi Phillysteaks, Chicken fingers, Burritos and Ramen. I ordered the Shogun ramen and by far hands down the BEST for my taste and I've tried at least 5 other local spots in Las Vegas ! So if you are near the Rio or just wanna come check out their food court ... they have other choices if you don't want Ramen ! However, if you do order Ramen I believe you will enjoy it !

Yelp
It doesn't live up to the anti-hype at all. Shogun Ramen is a local restaurant that was formerly a chain but now survives only in the Canteen Food Hall of the Rio Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas. I enjoyed their location on Blue Diamond back when it was the best in town. Their Henderson expansion may have hit a snag because the broth was too salty, at least in my experience. And now that I'm getting promotional dining credit from this casino, I figured I may as well give them another look-see. Ordering can be done at the register or via one of multiple kiosks located around the food hall. I went the latter route, swiped my Rio players card, and took care of payment easily. The food didn't take too long to come out; I picked my bowl up at the window (and also got a cup for water, which can be obtained at the soda machines), but I saw other guests simply sitting at the counter and waiting for the cook to bring their bowls over. I went with my go-to order, the namesake Shogun Ramen ($15.00). The tonkotsu-based broth is not too salty here and at first seemed about as flavorful as I could remember it. However, it did feel a bit muted later on for some reason, so I didn't feel obligated to slurp every last drop. The noodles were firm enough, and the chashu was thick but tender. The egg yolk in the half-egg was soft enough, so it wasn't overcooked. The green onions, sprouts, and nori were fine too. Aside from the ramen simply not being the best in town anymore, there's an issue related to Shogun's presence in a food hall: they don't offer proper ramen spoons here. All you get is a flat plastic soup spoon. Not only is the capacity too low, but the angle isn't right to reach into the deep bowl. Overall, Shogun Ramen is a great option if you're eating at the Rio, and it could very well be the best food available in the building at any price point. I must have missed the growing pains in the first year, but I'd take the Shogun which I just experienced over many other ramen spots around town.

Yelp
Ramen spot inside the Rio for anyone craving ramen while gambling. A decent spot to eat. You have to order via QR code provided at the front counter. The staff here are nice and understanding. The ramen itself is not bad and is pretty good! Easy to find. Recommend 10/10

Yelp
You wouldn't expect the ramen at a food hall to be good, but it's quite decent. It does take a bit to get your food compared to some of the other stalls, but it's definitely worth it after a whole day of walking or partying. If you're staying at the Rio, it's so nice to just take up your food and eat it in your room while enjoying your movie of choice. Solid ramen, at a decent cost for LV. Imo, it's worth!

Yelp
Would rather make my own top ramen. Hade a weird after taste, the meat was extremely dry and the noodles were just not it.

Yelp
Stayed at the Rio and ramen was sounding good. It wasn't very busy, so I stopped by Shogun Ramen. The chef/worker was really cool, he made some recommendations. I ordered the Shogun Ramen, since it was their top seller. Added egg... the egg was the best thing about it. The ramen was mid. The chashu was thick, flavorful, but very fatty. The dashi was salty... very salty. I didn't realize how salty until I woke up the next morning and my fingers were hurting and so swollen my wedding ring wouldn't slide onto my finger (and it's normally kind of loose!) Thankfully I took it off the night before. Had I not, my finger would have swelled so bad it would've definitely cut the circulation off! I'd say pass... unless you like high blood pressure and water retention.

Yelp
We were able to use our dining credits here. Broth is salty, to me it wasn't bad. The pork was tender and the noodles still had a bit of chewiness to it. Honestly, I was thinking worse but it's not bad. I understand if folks can't take a more saltier umami flavor it can be a bit much. Pretty filling as well you got two large pieces of pork.

Yelp
I really try not having to write bad reviews. Love the variety in this small food court but we didn't expect too much coming here as it was not a busy food court at all and it was prime time on a weekend. I guess nothing is really good here. We decided to go with chicken ramen (i am cutting back from fatty red meats and pork at the moment) and goodness the chicken looked dry, a huge chunky cut that lacked appeal in every way and as everyone said, they couldn't get the flavor right so salt it is to make it up. Unfortunately, it didn't help enhance any flavor but straight up salty bowl of noodles and soup. Chicken was dry and it was far from hitting the spot. We also ordered the Shogun ramen but somehow got the Neo instead and didn't know it was spicy. Luckily the spice paste was dappled on top and was pretty easy to remove if needed. That was also not great but descent. Sad to say, first and probably last time we will come here.

Yelp
I got the ramen togo but ate it within 5 minutes of getting it. Love the way they packaged it. 3/5: The ramen noodles were ok. Cooked well. Had a good mouth feel. The broth wasn't anything special. The chashu had some flavor but missing the typical strong umami flavor. The spicy condiment is basically sriracha. Overall considering the way they promote themselves I was expecting a new experience. Very lackluster as far as ramen goes.

Yelp
Shogun Ramen is located inside The Rio hotel and casino. During our stay, we checked out several places inside their new food court. We arrived shortly after 5 to find almost an empty food court. Ramen sounded good and was recommended upon check-in. Staff seemed to be new as they had to call the manager to verify if food could be charged to the room. The staff wasn't able to answer questions with confidence which made us a bit hesitant to order but we did. Got Tonkotsu ramen. Because we got it to-go, the noodles and ingredients were placed in one container while broth was placed in another just like any other ramen spot. After a short wait, our food was ready and we headed up to our room to eat. The noodles never soften or broke apart from one another, just stayed in their circle cake formation. The broth was UBER salty. The chatsu was fatty too. Finished about half of it and couldn't take it anymore. Comparing this ramen to ramen down the street in China town, there is no comparison. It's comparing apples to oranges and Shogun ramen is neither of those fruits. From someone who has tasted ramen from around the world, this is not up to par.

Yelp
Went to eat here at 3:00pm, Monday, June 16, 2025. No one was there. No food was being cooked. No sign or indication of whether they were open or closed, just nothing. What a shame. The big flashing billboard really draws you in. People love Ramen. This place could be great, but the poor management and service is ruining it. I read all of the other reviews and it needs new people, that want to be there to make it what it should be. Master Foo is looking Foo-lish.

Ash D.

Yelp
I ate it because I was craving ramen for a while and got the chance to eat Ramen here. Food was ordered through a touchscreen, not much room forinteracting with the food maker, (I wanted to be friendly) so I was a bit sad about that. It was good, I've just had better ramen at other places and I'm not impressed. It's a food court after all, very crowded, very loud, the place was busy. I noticed that only a few people came to eat at Shogun, so I was worried it wouldn't be good. It was pretty hard to eat considering how high the table was. Couldn't see my food unless my noise pressed slightly against the bowl (risk of knocking the food over. . I was really hungry and craving ramen for 3 months, so thats probably why my expectations were so high . overall, decent place for ramen if you want a quick bite to eat, but there better ramen places outside of the state of Nevada that I've tried

Yelp
Really great ramen at a reasonable price. That could be the whole review really, if I was to have one complaint is they only have a couple of Ramen options but they are equally good. I think I had it three times in the time I was staying at the Rio, service was great all three times. It is located in the new food hall which has a decent amount of seating and you can get it to go if you prefer to eat in your room or elsewhere in the hotel. Of all the options in the food hall this was easily our favorite and the people we recommended it to also agreed that it was quite good.
google avatar

Brett B.

Yelp
Plenty to choose from here. My wife got the Chicken and I got the pork. It was so tender and flavorful, full of noodles and spices. If you need heat, they do offer Sriracha sauce on the side.
google avatar

Yelp
This place is worth more than the 3 stars it has. I ordered 3 shotguns and my whole family loved. Very rich and plentiful for just $15 each. Will come back again.

Alison C.

Yelp
Food was excellent. Their katsu is juicier and cooked perfectly, compared to a lot of other places serving katsu.

Dawod A.

Yelp
I swear the Noodels from 7/11 way much better , this place is just a scam ! They sing the cheapest noodle ! And it's not tasty at all , and not clean , and the guy with the tattoos doesn't even wanna be here ! He just put me anything to let me go. Shame on you and shame On RIO hotel !

Yelp
This place is AMAZING!! I felt like I was back in Japan with this Ramen! And it was the most affordable food I've purchased in Las Vegas so far. 100% recommend!
google avatar

Joselyn V.

Yelp
First time trying this ramen and I have to say it was not what I expected. The noodles were stiff and the broth was super salty. It was underwhelming especially since I was craving ramen. I would not recommend this place if you're looking for good quality ramen.
google avatar

Heather Lynn A.

Yelp
Service was fine. The food was mediocre at best and spicy despite my not choosing a spicy ramen. The noodles were chewier than should have been, even for ramen. I've had definite better even in the States.
google avatar

Briana B.

Yelp
Had the tonkatsu ramen. The pork had that gamey, extra porky flavor (if you know, you know) and seemed extra fatty. The broth had an almost burnt taste to it. Ramen isn't that complicated, and this was subpar.
google avatar

Jay J.

Yelp
Inedible.. after my first bite, I've already wanted to push the bowl away. The noodles weren't completely cooked. Was gummy AF.. Chashu tasted like it was boiled in water with absolutely no seasoning. On the other hand the broth was as salty as the ocean. The only good thing in the bowl was that half of an egg. At $16, I'd be more content with a Top Ramen brewed in hot water. Still can't that taste out of my mouth.
google avatar

Anthony N.

Yelp
food was great will recommend anyone to get their ramen. it's affordable and delicious.

Yelp
tasty yummy just the perfect food to have and lots of wonderful flavorful the service is kind and i love the ambiance
