Decided to buy the top version castella cake using separated pack (8-piece) because 10-piece pack is too much given the validation date. However, I am very disappointed to the taste as I can only taste the wrapping paper instead of the cake itself. The store should not sell this kind the package if they cannot promise the taste! They should also consider to sell 5-piece pack like Shooken do, which is more friendly to a family of two!

A famous Castella restaurant that supplies to the royal family. A set of five Castella cakes and tea costs about $10. I had a refreshing carbonated yuzu tea.

Eat-in is available. We can enjoy castella (Japanese pancake) with Japanese tea. There are three types of castella. “Kira" is the castella baked that day. “Gosanyaki" is a castella made with less flour and more egg yolk and sugar. It has a stronger flavor than regular castella. “A la carte” is chocolate-flavored or matcha-flavored castella. I recommend "Kira".

A nice castella shop in front of Megane-bashi Bridge. My groumand friend told me that this is the top-rank castella shop in Nagasaki if it comes to those where you can come and buy ones without reservation in advance or waiting in a queue before opening in the morning.

The tea is good.
