Where to Eat Ramen in Nashville | Eater Nashville

"The Las Vegas-born ramen spot expanded to Music City last year — and it’s the first Asian-owned ramen-specific spot in town. The Japanese anime-themed ramen shop is known for serving up both traditional and newly innovated styles and varieties of made-from-scratch broths and house-made spice blends, fried rice, beer, and sake at their 24-hour operation in the heart of Las Vegas’s Chinatown." - Kristy Lucero

24-Hour Ramen Restaurant Shokku Opens in Houston’s Heights | Eater Houston

"An over-the-top anime-, J-Pop- and video-game–themed ramen spot that started in Las Vegas brings a playful, pop-culture–driven atmosphere to the Heights. The menu blends cheeky concept items — notably the Super Saiyan Nachos (crispy dumpling skin, kimchi, pork chashu, and Japanese mayo) — with classic and creative bowls such as oxtail ramen, vegetarian ramen, dumplings, kimchi fried rice, and build-your-own noodle bowls featuring scratch-made broths and house spices. A famed highlight is the Shinigami, an extra-spicy ramen topped with pork chashu, soy eggs, chicken karaage, naruto, mushrooms and other veggies, finished with a house seasoning rated at over 4 million Scoville units. Chef Louross Edralin (a season 4 Hell’s Kitchen alum) plans a Houston spin on the menu, including a barbecue brisket ramen served with crunchy potato fries, cucumber pickles and pickled onions, and Tonkotsu pork broth enhanced with barbecue seasoning. The restaurant opens in the former BCK space and will operate 5–11 p.m. for its initial weeks with plans to expand to 24-hour service later in the year." - Brittanie Shey

ASIAN PERSUASION

Google
Everyone is entitled to their own opinions so here is mine. When you first walk in, it looks just like any ramen shop. Seating was quick but food was alittle slow on delivery. Staff could be alittle bit more attentive since we never got refills on our drinks. The ramen itself i would say is overpriced for what you are getting. The bowl in the picture alone was about $25 which i feel is alittle absurd. The soup base was bland, nothing stands out from it. The curry aged rice was EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTING. The chicken that came with it actually was soft, crispy, and tender but the rice was one of the saddest rice I have ever tasted. The rice was old and dry as if I was eating little clumps of sand. The chicken and rice was juicy and i enjoyed it the most. If it was just those two items I was reviewing I would have given it a 4 maybe 5 stars for sure. It does seem overhyped in my opinion .Again this is my own opinions and everyone is entitled to their own so let me know if you agree or disagree!

Google
Love the hours of this ramen spot. You can get your ramen cravings taken care of at any time. My friend and I decided to come check it out. Great flavor in the broth and tons of topping options. Cute interior design and clean restrooms. I'd definitely give it another try.

Our server Fernando was phenomenal!!! He went above and beyond for our first visit to Shokku Ramen. We came to celebrate my daughter's 20th birthday and the food, service and atmosphere did not disappoint! Fernando comped her meal AND brought her a choice of dessert which was equally delicious!! We drove from San Antonio and will definitely come again! You're awesome Fernando!!!!

Google
The food was good, love the dumplings! And THANK YOU Fernando for going above and beyond it is truly appreciated! You saw we didn’t have a waiter and had been sitting for a while and came up to us and explained the menu and options as it was our first time there we didn’t really know what to order.

This restaurant is not to be missed. Exceptional food that is above quanlity in taste and presentation, stellar service (especially by Kora, you are a rockstar!) And great vibes. The loyalty cards are a very thoughtful touch to keep customers coming back.... and... we will rest assured.

Google
The ramen was really good. My grilled chicken was a bit tough, but the tofu was delicious! We also got the dumplings, and was, by far, the tastiest part of the meal. The atmosphere was cute! If you're an anime fan, this is a place for you! I also loved the cassette tape wall ♥️ Parking is limited like all the other restaurants in this area, so I'd recommend going during the week.

Google
Great place for late-night food. I got the drowning gyoza and the da oxtail. I enjoyed both, it's been a minute since I had some good ramen. Definitely will recommend to my friends anime lovers and non-anime lovers.

Google
Hands down my favorite ramen spot in Houston! The broth is rich and flavorful, the noodles are perfectly cooked, and every bowl I’ve tried has been absolutely delicious. The staff is attentive and friendly, and the menu offers plenty of options for every taste. If you’re coming on a weekend late at night, just know it can get very packed. I recommend getting on the waitlist ahead of time or making a reservation to avoid a long wait. Happy slurping!! Oh and don’t forget to try the drowning gyoza (;

Kyle N.

Yelp
Fernando had great service, food was super good as well. Only complaint is that the music was only dubstep and that could possibly be changed

Johanna V.

Yelp
We visited this restaurant & the ramen was delicious, we also had the chicken gyoza, kimchi fried rice & chicken fried rice! Our waiter Fernando was amazing since the moment we entered the restaurant ! He went above & beyond to make sure we had a great time ! The restaurant was clean and loved that you could watch anime playing as you ate. Will definitely be back !

Yelp
Food: Ramen was delicious. 5 Stars Service: Friendly, warm, and fast. 5 Stars. Ambiance Inside: Like a fusion vibe of Japanese eatery and American sports bar. 5 Stars Ambiance Outside: Finding parking is painful. Even on Sunday night, had to drive around 6 times before parking was available. Inside, however, they have plenty of tables. 1 Star Overall: 4 Stars

Yelp
Came by Shokku Ramen on a Sunday evening for some ramen and sat at the bar for quicker service. I don't enjoy any ramen spots in Houston so I didn't set high hopes for Shokku. The bartender was really nice and attentive, which made the experience smooth from the start. I ordered the vegan ramen with spinach noodles, and my friend went with ramen that had a vegan broth, chicken, and spinach noodles. Both bowls were decent and relatively satisfying. The only downside was that it was so cold inside the restaurant that I couldn't fully enjoy the meal. I was ready to head out sooner than I would've liked. I even asked if they could turn the air down a bit but they couldn't. Aside from that, it's a solid spot with good service and tasty options, especially if you're looking for vegan-friendly ramen.

Yelp
Great service. My server Cece was wonderful and made sure I had everything I needed, and even recommended me new items to try. Will be back!!

Yelp
I actually had a good experience at Shokku ramen. A few notes: Food was really delicious. I got the Shokku tacos and they were really delicious. I'd 100% get those again. I can't speak for the ramen but I was definitely impressed by my tacos. I thought the vibe was nice here. It was cool that they had anime playing on the walls. I will say, I wish it was a bit more intimate of an environment. It was a bit loud inside. Overall, this was a fun and unique place to stop. Glad I checked it out.

Yelp
I was very impressed with this place. The food was really good. I went with my older sons and they both love anime so it was very fitting. I stumbled upon this gem because I was on a cleanse and not eating gluten so I wanted a gluten free ramen. They have Konjac noodles here and I was curious. Honestly I enjoyed this noodles so much I would definitely order them again not even being gluten free. My boys really enjoyed their ramen too. It was pretty busy, we had to wait just a little while for a table. There isn't too much parking around the building but there is street parking as well. They are open 24 hours too which I thought was really cool! I'm sure this place gets packed on weekend late nights! I would definitely go!

Yelp
Great service! Fun ambiance! Loved the drowning gyoza. It was very good with all the crunchy bits on top. Very thin gyoza. Which was perfect! I also had the Shinigami Ramen. This is their spiciest Ramen, but the spice comes on the side so you can determine your level. Caution, as it is very hot! At first taste of the broth, it seemed bland to me. This is not the case. Try to stir it as much as you can. All of the good flavor fell to the bottom of the bowl. Very good broth. Not your typical ramen, but it was still good. Only 2 things I didn't like. Paper straws. Why?!?! Those things always fall apart. 2nd was I love just a plain old iced black Unsweet tea. They had the raspberry kind from a fountain machine or green tea. I opted for the green tea as I usually like that. It was a little too sweet for my taste, and I don't believe there are free refills. Other than those 2 things, it was pretty good. A little on the expensive side ($37.89), but still a good value for the portions and quality.

Yelp
I came here on a random late-night Monday because I had heard about a 24-hour Ramen spot, and I had to try it. It was past midnight, and it was shockingly packed, but since I was solo, I was able to sit immediately at the bar. They have lots of Ramen options--especially some that aren't as 'traditional'. I went with the surf and turf ramen, and it was tasty! I also had a side of sushi (forgot the name), which was pretty delicious. And for my drink, my lemon drop was 10/10. Overall, I will for sure be back ESPECIALLY as a late night recovery food option :)

Yelp
What a cute anime themed restaurant! I stopped by with a couple of friends the other day to try out the Ramen. We also ordered a round of Gyoza which were delicious as well with a crispy onion or fried garlic on top. I built my own Ramen bowl, which was quite tasty. They are also 24 hours so a perfect spot for a late night craving. The service was pretty quick and responsive to our needs. All in all, a great dinner recommendation!

Yelp
Good option for late night meals. I'm not a fan of fast food, so when I can avoid it, I will, but seeing was a Tuesday at 10pm... the options were slim pickings. Luckily, we found this place and immediately had to check it out. Parking out front is pretty limited but the actual restaurant itself is pretty spacious, lots of table available. The restaurant is anime themed. There are multiple TVs airing different animes, anime character dedicated items on the menu, and anime plastered all over the walls. We were seated pretty quickly despite it being busy. The menu is pretty short and straight forward. As far as ramen goes, there are only 6 bowls of offered on the menu HOWEVER there is a Build Your Own Bowl option, so if you think about it... the options are limitless. I did the Build Your Own and asked for the Shinigami spice on the side. The server warned us of its potency, so I added a pea-sized bit to the broth. I thought it was fine and still needed more spice, so I added a fat glob. Big Mistake - the spice level went from a 3 to a 9 and my mouth was on fire. I still finished my bowl, the broth was good, and they give very generous portions of the add-ons. Only downside was that I request no scallions still received a huge portion of scallion in my bowl. The server noticed and offered to have the kitchen remake my bowl, but I declined since I felt it was wasteful. The service was great! The entire staff seems friendly and our server stayed on top of it. I did think the menu was a little pricey, but I'm thinking that's just the premium for 24-hour service. Adding this to my list of late night eats!

Yelp
It was an extremely busy night due to the DreamCon convention, but I have to give credit to our waiter for being patient and going above and beyond to take care of us. I ordered the ramen with chicken broth and added a few custom toppings: soy-cured egg, naruto, wood ear mushrooms, red ginger, and a side of premium sake. So far, this is the best ramen spot I've found in Houston!
google avatar

Wendy F.

Yelp
Anime themed when you walk in and plenty of seating. Parking can get a little tricky since there's a small amount of parking but some in the back. Had the Shrimp pops and chicken karaage as an Appetizer. And Da Oxtail Ramen. Pretty good and full of flavor. Only downside was service was a tad slow. Had to wait for our server to come around a few times until we got something we needed
google avatar

Wendy H.

Yelp
Stopped in Sunday around 1:30, it was lively but not extremely busy so we were sat right away. The anime decor is cute if you're into that. Our waitress was really nice and she answered all of our questions. We started off with the Kor-age and it was SOOOOO GOOD! The honey sauce was delicious. I ordered the Shinigami Ramen and the flavor of the broth was good on its own but adding a bit of the spice definitely made it that much better. My friend ordered the ramen of the month and she really enjoyed it. Overall, I think it's a solid place for ramen maybe a little over priced but it's worth trying at least once.
google avatar

Danny N.

Yelp
Pretty solid 24/7 ramen spot. They had anime playing on the TVs in sub which was a hit for me. I will be coming here when I come back to htown!
google avatar

Naomi H.

Yelp
This place had been on my list for a while in glad I finally decided to come here! Everything I tried was so flavorful my favorite was the SHINIGAMI RAMEN with pork and chicken and egg! The broth is so rich !! We also had some gyoza and kimchi fried rice and that one was also amazing and so big for a "small" portion! The server was nice and prompt and the place itself looks great decorated with anime legends and tvs blasting Dragon Ball, attack of the titan and others!! Definitely coming back to try more stuff! Their happy hour looks great so I'll be coming for that !
google avatar

Lizzy H.

Yelp
If you love anime ambiance and are looking for a decent bowl of ramen at 3am this is a good spot. Service was great, loved our waitress. And I get they are open 24hrs so their ramen has to be expensive, $23 for a bowl. Would I pay that for a regular bowl of ramen for a place open from 10-8pm? No. But I would pay it at 3am if I'm craving ramen.
google avatar

Lilly A.

Yelp
Came at 3 am with a couple friends and was surprised at how busy it was. They estimated a 45 min wait and told us they had a two hour wait earlier in the night. We waited about 40 min when they texted us. Over all the service by Maggie was pretty great. She was attentive and had a positive attitude even through the hustle and bustle. We ordered the chicken dripping Gyoza (8/10) which the dumplings themselves could have used some more seasoning however the sauce they drown them is was 10/10 delicious. After that I personally had Da Oxtail Ramen $22 (8/10), my friend had the Surf and turf (9/10) $22 and a custom Ramen order in Tori broth (10/10) $17. The broths are not greasy and the soups are full of delicious veggies. I will definitely be back. They had closed caption anime playing on the projector and a great playlist going to keep it lively. Overall great food and a great experience. And yes, it truly is open 24 hours.

Yelp
What's not to love about a 24-hour ramen spot? I always come here late at night after a few drinks and they always deliver. Food is really good here. And their drinks rock also. Service is always very quick and I've never had a problem finding a seat, particularly at the bar. Been here several times and definitely intend to come back. Highly recommend.

Yelp
I'd seen Shokku Ramen pop up a few times on IG/TT and finally got the chance to check it out after a workout with a friend. We like to try new places and picked this one since they're open 24 hours--definitely a plus. We didn't have a reservation but were seated quickly. The vibe was casual with anime playing throughout the restaurant. It was moderately packed when we arrived around 7:45-8:00 PM on a Wednesday night, but nothing too crazy. One cool thing they do that definitely earns extra points: the digital menu is interactive. When you press and hold the name of an item, a photo pops up so you can see exactly what it looks like. Super helpful if you like to visualize your food before ordering without having to hop on Yelp. We shared the Drowning Gyoza to start, which was good, but a little disappointing. Based on the name (and the menu photo), I expected it to be drenched in sauce--it came out pretty dry. I even asked the waiter if that's how it was supposed to be, and apparently it was. Still tasty, just not what I had in mind. For mains, my friend ordered the Japanese Garden, and I went with the garlic-based special they were featuring at the time (I think it changes weekly or monthly). Mine had a flavorful broth very garlicky in the best way. The portion size was great and everything came out quickly. As someone who's had ramen in Japan, I'll say this--it's not the best ramen I've ever had in my life lol, but it was definitely solid. The experience overall was good, and I'd come back, especially since they're open 24/7 and good for a post-night-out.
google avatar

Melissa C.

Yelp
August 17, 2024 Disappointed. "shokkuh" was a shock because it had no flavor. They had no chili paste or soy on the table . . . had to ask for it. That helped. On a positive note. I've always wondered what those white pieces with the pink swirl was.. I only know it to be an emoji!! LOL! But, my Hispanic friends said it's a fish cake ... it basically absorbs the flavor of whatever it's in. FYI Anyway, the ramen wasn't "bad" it just wasn't flavorful or memorable. [shameful chef] The chicken appetizer was good. Drinks good. Won't be back

Makayla I.

Yelp
The best ramen I've ever had!!! My boyfriend and I love ramen so we always try new spots and this ramen was SO flavorful!! Our waiter was so nice and our drinks were good, too. Definitely coming back.

Yelp
made a reservation for 11pm on a thursday night and was seated immediately upon arrival, restaurant had lots of seating and was decorated with anime graphics. multiple tv screens all playing different anime. we ordered "da oxtail" which included ox tail, mushrooms, soy marinade eggs, yellow noodles, and broth was a combination of their tonkotsu and oxtail broth. we also tried the "surf and turf" that came in a rich tori (chicken) broth and yellow noodles, topped with NY strip, 2 pc shrimp tempura, and soy marinated eggs. both ramen bowls were delicious in different ways, but we think that the tori broth had more flavor. the drowning gyoza was decent too. i had seen some negative reviews on here as well as tik tok regarding their service, but we didn't have any issues with that. our server, fernando was very kind and attentive and we didn't have to experience any long waits.
google avatar

annee n.

Yelp
your experience will always start with the host, name is kou from what i was told greeted us walking in and was not welcoming and seemed like she was just ready to go home which 20 minutes later she ended up getting off work which is understandable but if customers are being polite walking in you should definitely greet them she didn't do anything a host should do which threw us off because we were so excited to try the food and was having a good night until then. our waitress though, emma was sooooo sweet! she definitely made the experience way better and was very attentive. the food was great and it's even better that it's open 24/7. definitely recommend the drowning gyoza for an appetizer i also had this chicken dish as one but it was 5/10.
google avatar

Tiffany L.

Yelp
This was our second time going to Shokku Ramen and it was so good! I ordered the Build Your Own Ramen with Tonkotsu broth, yellow noodles, pork, mixed mushrooms, crispy garlic, bean sprouts, and green onions. My boyfriend did the Exodia Bowl which is their featured bowl for May. It was really busy when we went, wait wasn't too bad but the bar ended up opening up so we just sat there. We love the anime theme of this restaurant, they usually have different anime's playing on all their t.v's but unfortunately when we went the second time it seemed like there was an issue with them because they were all blank. The service was really good as well, our server was extremely kind and willing to give recommendations and answer questions. Overall, I definitely recommend this restaurant and will definitely go again!
google avatar

Kelly N.

Yelp
The parking is terrible. There's way more seats inside than there are parking spots. Idk how they think people will be able to sit if they can't park, unless everybody carpools with cars full of people. We parked in the lot of the business next door after their business hours were over. It seemed like other people did that too, so we thought it was safe, but I wasn't 100% sure we wouldn't get towed lol We came at around midnight on a Saturday night and surprisingly got seated immediately, even though it was pretty busy. Service was nice, but seemed to be struggling. It could have been because we were a table of 6, or our server was new, or they were understaffed, or because it was late in the evening, so it might not be normal, but I experienced the most mistakes I've had at a restaurant in a while. An appetizer never came out and had to be removed from our bill, my friend's ramen was missing a topping, our server took 2 attempts to split the bill correctly, and my bf's drink didn't come out until everyone finished all of their food and it didn't taste like it had any alcohol in it. Nothing outrageous, but pretty notable. I got the DROWNING GYOZA. It comes with the option of chicken or pork. Idk why it's called drowning gyoza when it's not sitting in a sauce. It has sauce drizzled on it, I think, so maybe it should be called drizzled gyoza lol at most, the plate might've just been brushed with sauce. Definitely not "swimming" like the menu says, but, regardless, it's delicious! There's plenty of flavor despite the lack of sauce. Get it if you're considering it. I was fully happy getting just this after a night of drinking. My bf got a Tori (chicken broth) ramen and liked it. He added Oni (red) spice and the flavor of the spice was delicious! Too spicy for me, but definitely tasty! I thought the signature bowls were ridiculously overpriced. Maybe it's because of the area, but I can easily get a better bowl of ramen for cheaper elsewhere. Also, everyone in our party built their own bowls because there wasn't a great selection from the signature bowl options. All issues aside, everything I tried was pretty good. I'm not sure why their rating is so low, but based off of my experience, it's problems with everything but the actual food. It's worth trying out if you're craving this type of food late at night when everything else is closed, but I probably won't be back if other ramen options are open.

David

Yelp
Food was absolutely amazing, service was excellent Christian made sure that our drinks were refilled and kept making sure we had everything we needed! Ask for Christian to add onto the amazing experience.

Yelp
This place is now one of my go-to's when it comes to ramen. It was so delicious. The ambiance was amazing. All the cool anime drawings on the walls really set the tone. I was able to watch anime my whole stay which was a plus. My server was wonderful. He checked on us and gave some amazing recommendations.

Yelp
Food was good but had to be modified because they were out of basil & coconut milk Bartender was nice and knowledgeable about the drink menu and the cocktails were yummy

Yelp
Surf and Turf was amazing it is the best Ramen in the whole world (as per my son). I had the kimchi chicken rice, which was great. Good service and quick. Could turn their air conditioning down as it was freezing!!

Yelp
Late night ramen spot! Always packed on weekend nights. Got the Korean fried chicken, ramen, and cheesecake. The fried chicken was okay, but the ramen was hearty and flavorful! Quick service as well.

Yelp
Bad food. Worst ramen I've ever had. The service was fine, but really the only saving grace is the hours that they're open.
google avatar

Yelp
It's an ok Ramen place but definitely overpriced. I had the oxtail ramen, tonkotsu ramen, the gyoza and nachos. Nothing to rave about.
google avatar

Rachel M.

Yelp
First impressions: the hostess/waitress felt that packing to-go orders were more important than seating guests. Even though the restaurant was empty at 6 pm somehow they still had dirty tables and I had to wait for a table to be wiped down. It is also FREEZING in this restaurant. I shouldn't be shivering while trying to eat. Last two complaints: they sat me so close to the kitchen I was basically in the kitchen and had to hear the music the cooks were listening to. They also use paper straws which disintegrate and are gross. I ordered the November featured ramen- the Baki bowl made with beef bone broth served with yellow noodles. Topped with New York steak, bok choy, green onion, & a soy cured egg. Heads up, there isn't a price on the website but it's $25! Definitely not worth the price. The steak was ok, but over cooked. The only saving grace was the broth and egg. I will not be coming back. Better and cheaper ramen other places!

Yelp
Came for a late night bite, and it wasn't busy. I was immediately seated, and my waitress took my order quickly. The food was really good and very affordable. It's definitely a great place for a quick meal. Bianca

Yelp
The service was very welcoming throughout the whole experience. The ambiance felt very refreshing and the shows while having a meal was a nice touch to the atmosphere. And the server Christian brought the mood up and great vibes since I sat all the way to the end which made it more the reason to return here for another time. Especially when the food was delicious from the appetizers to the desserts.

Yelp
Sorry forgot to email but thank you! I decided to go back again taking my sister from out of town this time and she loved it as much as I did. I finally got to try the eggs and it's a big YES from me, definitely made my top 3 list they were so good and soft. Our server was so helpful in choosing spice level and made this experience better than the last. It was busier this time than last but he still made sure we were taken care of. Their drowning gyoza is a must, definitely order. I'm glad I gave them another shot I think they're my new ramen place in Houston!
google avatar

Li K.

Yelp
Apps: Ordered Kore-age and it was a great chicken with nice crunch. A bit too much gochujang and a tad salty even for Asians. Chashu fried rice was a bit too wet and salty as well. Ramen: I ordered shio ramen with pork, bean sprouts, naruto, and bamboo. Broth had an okay flavor, noodles were a bit too thick and al dente. Naruto maki they give way too many slices and it's tad too thick that it overpowers the noodle as you're eating it. The Chashu is a bit much as well and thick. Now this may not sound like a bad thing to other people as you're getting more for your money and already the bowl is pricey as it is, I can see why. But I believe that the toppings and ingredients are there to distract you from the main star of the show which doesn't really even stand out on its own. Packing on as much as the bowl can handle or that the server can carry at once. Look at the way the bowl is dressed. It looks like everything was thrown in without meaning and purpose. No respect for ramen, no spirit. I know some of the readers may not understand what I'm talking about and may say it's amazing and that I must be crazy. To the reader I ask you to really look into every aspect of the next meal you have. Look at it, talk to it, and don't just ingest it but try to savor it. One day, you might understand.

I am stuffed! This place is truly a gem. They have a variety of ramen broth options, proteins and toppings. I had the vegan broth with yellow noodles, no protein and green onions, mixed mushrooms, crispy garlic, bean sprouts and Red spicy sauce! DELICIOUS My boyfriend had Tori broth, yellow noodles, with pork and crispy garlic. The service from T was exceptionally sweet. He was very attentive to all his tables, and informative and helpful about the items on the menu. The ambiance was very chill and laid back. They have anime playing on the projector screen, and sports at the bar. The menu can be found on the table via QR CODE. If you check in, you receive a FREE MOCHI! Overall, I enjoyed my experience here and will be returning for another date night with my man.

Yelp
The ramen is incredibly overpriced for such tiny portions, unbelievably salty, and the few pieces of meat were almost entirely slices of fat. The to go ramen portion was less than two cups, and that is including the whole egg (costs extra). Yes, most ramen is notoriously salty, but this tasted like they dropped a whole salt shaker in it. In the end, the small portion wasn't important, because it was inedibly salty. I tried adding hot water to dilute the saltiness, but just couldn't eat it. The three tiny pieces of pork were mostly fat, one piece had only one cm of meat in the whole slice. Really disappointing. I won't be back.

Yelp
Stopped by for lunch on a Thursday around noon. The interior is full of anime art and screens playing anime from One Piece to Spirited Away. Together we ordered a small Niku Fried Rice (Egg rice, seasoned and wok-fried with seasoned ground beef, imitation crab, egg, green onions & ginger) which was very filling for 1 person, and the February featured ramen bowl "The Ribrianne Bowl" (Herbaceous biennial infused Tonkotsu based ramen. Served with yellow noodles, topped with pork shumai & pork chashu, scallion curls, woodear mushrooms, naruto, corn & a soy cured egg). The fried rice was flavorful but underwhelming and overly oily; the rice at the bottom of the bowl was mushy and there was a deposit of oil left. Unfortunately, the ramen's broth was disappointing, as its flavor was not potent or hearty as expected of a tonkotsu ramen. Overall, I would only come back here if I had a ramen craving late at night, and this was the only place available to satisfy my munchies.

Yelp
Shokku has definitely put it all together. Food is delicious. Service is courteous, helpful, and prompt. They've fully embraced the anime/manga theme which might not be my thing but it works for them.

Yelp
The food was very good. The broth was rich and full of flavor. The Koreage was beautifully fried and crisp. And the hours? This was up the street from where Andy's Home Cafe, my late night go-to used to be located, and being 24 hours, I can see myself going back. The service? The two folks front of the house were working super hard to get everything done. And there's the rub. Only two people. Restaurant wasn't even half full and took awhile to get seated. Took awhile to pay. And I blame NONE of this on the staff who were killing themselves to get things done. But when I see the same staff serving as host, bartender, AND server, that is a problem. Based on other reviews I read here, understaffing seems to be a consistent problem. And as much as I liked Da Oxtail, pretty certain that was not oxtail, more than likely stewed chuck. It tasted good but lacked the unctuous, texture and richness of oxtail.

Yelp
I was intrigued by the black garlic Ramen. It was not bad. Their dumplings were also pretty good but at night past 12 it was so packed. It was hard to get a table for three so we ended up sitting at the bar which wasn't too bad the bartender that served us was very kind. It was a pretty cool place to go and see as well. Would love to go back and try other Ramen. There were so many I wanted to try.

Yelp
Sooooo I've been coming here since they opened. I've only recently begun to have bad experiences. They are always out of something. They have a table cleaner who will literally sit across the restaurant and stare at me the entire time I'm there. (I thought I was tripping until my most recent date brought it to my attention asking me if I knew the person) The service has also gone down tremendously. Monday my family and I went to dine. There weren't any people standing around waiting and multiple tables open so an assumed it was a seat yourself kinda night. As we sat down the greeter approached us and asked us to get up. There was supposedly a waiting list. We got up and headed towards the door to get in line for the waiting list. He said he'd be with me in a minute. He began to do something on his tablet until a couple walked in. They were sat immediately. ( I asked them if they were on a waitlist they said no) I continued to wait. After a few moments he asked me how many and told me it would be a wait. Mind you. There are still empty tables at this point.. we were sat about 20 mins later after multiple walk ups. I asked to speak to a manager. Attempted to make a complaint. His response was, " so you guys placing an order". As if everything I said went in one ear and out the other. We ordered. While waiting for our food the same person who normally stares at me is now at the door with the greeter trying to look through my soul. I was so uncomfortable I canceled my order and left. Definitely sad to have to take this place off my list

Yelp
Anime and manga everywhere you turn. The Ramen was really nice! Would say it's one of the better ones out there. Probably a great spot to go for late night food and you're not feeling a burger

Yelp
I've been here a couple of times I went for my birthday and got a free ramen bowl and each time I got back I always try something different. The vibe there is so cool with anime characters and shows every which way you look. Must go I promise you won't be disappointed.

Yelp
I have to start with the fact that Shokku Ramen is open 24/7 meaning you can get a fantastic bowl of ramen anytime of the day or night! It's centrally located in the heights which gives it a great atmosphere and vibe for the area. We tried Da Oxtail Ramen and The Surf and Turf Ramen, both so delicious and creamy and flavorful. We also got the Karage, drowning gyoza and Niku fried rice. All the appetizers were excellent!! Service is good but can use a little organization. The bartender was out of house hot sake and instead of letting us know he just served us warm lychee sake (which wasn't the same for sake bombs). However, it wasn't that much of a issue. The waitstaff was running around and kept busy but got behind making the wait times a little longer. Overall, food was good and will definitely return!
