My husband and I visited Shooters Waterfront on a Friday evening, eager to try the restaurant based on its great reviews. Unfortunately, our experience fell short of expectations.
Valet parking was $8 (excluding tip), and we had a 7 PM reservation. We were seated promptly, and our waitress was friendly and helpful. However, the service was a bit slow overall. We initially hoped to sit outside for the ambiance but had to sit indoors due to the weather. The indoor ambiance was decent, though not as charming as the outdoor setup.
We started with two Spicy Mango Mule mocktails, which were beautifully presented and tasted great. For appetizers, we ordered a colossal stone crab with honey mustard (market price). The presentation was nice, but we were shocked to find it cost $75 for just one crab that barely had any meat. It was extremely overpriced and not worth it--something I highly discourage anyone from ordering.
I had a Caesar salad, which was standard, while my husband enjoyed a bowl of New England clam chowder, which he thought was very good.
For entrées, I ordered the Vegan Masala, which was just okay. Unfortunately, the chickpeas were undercooked, making them hard and unpleasant to eat. My husband ordered the Grilled Florida Grouper (market price). Before even knowing the price, he felt it was overcooked and lacked flavor. When we discovered it was $50, he was even more disappointed, saying it was overpriced for the quality.
Overall, the food quality and taste did not justify the $200 check (plus tip). We left feeling disappointed and won't be returning. While the service was pleasant and some items were decent, the overall experience didn't live up to the hype, and we cannot recommend this restaurant.
