I am not criticizing Shop Rite but rather offering a helpful suggestion to protect the public, and individual shoppers, who simply do not have a proper understanding of how viruses (Covid, flu, etc) are spread. I, as a shopper, would never risk telling a stranger that they are putting themselves and others at risk, for fear of causing a public spectacle in today's volatile environment. But ShopRite, on the other hand, has that responsibility and already has an employee at the front entrance spraying paper towels and offering them to people for their hands and to wipe off their cart handles. I suggest that this person also be authorized to point out if shoppers are not properly covered either to the shopper or to management. I shopped at the Berlin ShopRite yesterday 7/24/20, and saw shoppers with their masks on incorrectly but MOST CONCERNING was a woman wearing only a plastic face shield and no mask. I have no doubt at all that she is simply misinformed. But it would be in the public's best interest if management were notified by the front entrance person of such instances. I know shop rite does not want to be a hotspot for spreading Covid (or flu as it comes this fall). I hope my suggestion is taken in the spirit in which it is meant. I normally shop in another region of South Jersey and have not experienced this lapse in my usual grocery store so was concerned by it.
