Yelp
To the Shore Pine Coffee management: We will never return and give our money to this business, due to the appalling customer service received on 7/25 around 3:30 pm by the blonde "barista" with glasses.
That "barista" purposely ignored your customers inside the Waterfront building for several minutes, while very clearly doing nothing. And when I say doing nothing, I mean absolutely nothing---not cleaning up, not restocking, not making drinks, not counting the till--I mean doing NOTHING besides standing there talking to the other barista who was actually doing her job making drinks. She did manage to make eye contact and continued doing nothing...eventually she did come over to us while we were looking at the sandwiches.
Instead of greeting or welcoming us (god forbid she drop a hello to waiting customers) the "barista" very condescendingly and with open hostility opened with "ACTUALLY-- we don't allow dogs in here.....unless THAT'S a service dog." And then glared at us.
I replied to her there was no menu outside to see the food, she insisted there was. There was no food menu outside and I would still personally like to see the food before ordering, so I wasn't sure how else to order. Plus, many Edmonds folks will know Shore Pine often runs out of sandwiches and pastries, rendering their menu outdated.
Please note: our 10lb dog was being held the entire time, she was never running loose, damaging property or disrupting the peace (as so many obnoxious children often do inside the waterfront center).
The "barista" rudely said, "You can go out to the window then" and crossed her arms.
We left immediately and will not be going back.
There's absolutely a courteous and respectful way to inform paying customers of policies--this woman doesn't know how to do that. Unclear exactly what her problem is--Would she have been as comfortable being bluntly rude and dismissive if I was white? Who knows. Either way, we didn't appreciate her unprofessional hostility. Especially when we've ordered indoors at Shore Pine with our dog being held MANY times.
Our experience in Edmonds is that we can quickly place our to-go order inside, as long as the dog is held the entire time. If this is not the case at Shore Pine/Waterfront center, please say so immediately instead of inconsiderately wasting potential customer's time.
On our way out, there was a line of people, which obscured the sandwich board menu for any one wanting to view it.
Get that woman with glasses some customer service training or else she will be the extremely unprofessional reason many more customers don't bother returning to Shore Pine.
Manners and kindness cost nothing.
There's zero reason to be such an absolute wench to customers.
Sincerely,
A Customer Retention Trainer for a Fortune 500 company
