We dined at Shorebreak Lodge our first time last night and we were extremely happy with the experience from beginning to end. Our only complaint (albeit minor in today's restaurant scene) is that the noise level was a little higher than we liked. With that minor complaint out of the way, we were promptly waited on by Justin, who expertly answered any questions we had and steered us toward a few wonderful suggestions. My wife started with an 1838 Sazarac cocktail and I ordered the Long and Happy Life. Both were excellent choices and as we were enjoying them, we decided to order a half order of the char grilled octopus. It was absolutely delicious and the perfect size for both of us to share as an appetizer. When i came to ordering our entrees, I was focused on the Dry Boat Scallops and my wife, with Justin's enthusiastic recommendation ordered the Shrimp & Grits. When the orders arrived, my wife and I split each order so that we could try both. The Dry Boat Scallops were fantastic but the most amazing meal, quite surprisingly, were the Shrimp & Grits. We've both ordered Shrimp & Grits many times in the past, and honestly were not really considering them until Justin, when asked about his favorite entree, pointed to the Shrimp & Grits. Boy, what a great recommendation. We have never had grits in a tomato chorizo sauce before, but they were lick the plate delicious. The shrimp were perfectly cooked, extremely flavorful, and we honestly talked about them all night.
Thank you Shorebreak, for a wonderful experience!
