A very pleasant brunch eatery next to the railroad tracks. The food was decent, but our server was wonderful and attentive. The outdoor seating area was very relaxing and comfortable. The chicken pesto sandwich was pretty good and the thin cut fries was good as well. We also tried its appetizer of heirloom tomatoes, avocado, Burrata cheese and toast that was pretty good, but wasn’t memorable. It does close at 2:30 P.M. so plan ahead.

We LOVE this restaurant! The location is in the center of downtown and has an old school local vibe. We were stoked to see they have a dogs menu that was pretty impressive. They literally have excellent food choices with fresh eggs, breakfast meats for them and decently priced. We've brought our pug Jojo there a few times and they brought her food out in a nice bowl. We love how the place is full of locals and their dogs, families and people fresh off the train across the way. Its predominantly an outdoor seated scenario. There's definitely indoor seating, but outside is the best. The food is so excellent and has refreshing choices that break the norm. I'm having the Hawaiian pancakes with guava syrup next time. 🌺 The whole atmosphere is alive. If you don't want to stay and eat you can pop into the front part of the restaurant which caters to those who only want coffee and fresh bakery. There's breakfast items on that menu like breakfast burritos to go and other good choices. Its the best restaurant ever. 🌴🥥🏄‍♂️🌊🐾🐾

Delicious! This was my second time here . I had ordered the maple chicken lettuce wrapped with egg whites with a side of house salad. Others in the party ordered the steak/eggs and Monterey omelet with vanilla bean yogurt. We have enjoyed our food. Service was excellent and Ambiance was like an outdoor patio setting. Benches were a little high for my guests. I also ordered a Kyoto ice coffee. It was ok. I truly enjoyed the food and will come again.

This isn’t a negative review—just an honest one. We ordered three items: the bell pepper soup was okay, the chicken sandwich didn’t hit the mark, but the mushroom omelette was actually quite good. Service was very slow. It was a busy weekend brunch, so the delay was understandable, but it did feel like they could’ve used more staff to handle the rush. That said, our waiter was incredibly sweet, which made it hard to be upset about the wait. Personally, I don’t see myself coming back, but I wouldn’t discourage others from trying it. It has potential, just not the best fit for me.

Excellent service and super cute ambience! Food was amazing. We got the carnitas Benedict, angus short rib and hashbrown cakes and the cornmeal pancakes. It was beyond delicious and the portions are super generous. Would definitely recommend!

A local gathering spot for simple California breakfast options. Great people watching and al fresco dining. The food is decent, but not exceptional. There was a solid basic breakfast and a tasty California veggie omelette, but the disappointing breakfast "grilled cheese" had minimal cheese, just a sprinkle of partially melted grated cheddar. No melty cheese pull that the name insinuates. As a grilled cheese lover the dish needs to deliver on the promise. But overall it's an acceptable breakfast spot for an easy, breezy start to your morning.

Garbage service, took forever for everything to get to us, the food is bland with literally no seasoning whatsoever, they don't even use salt. The chai latte was good (you know, 10 minutes after I ordered it...), but everything else was tasteless and pricey. I would not recommend to anyone period

While the location and vibe were excellent, our visit was a bit of a letdown. The food looked delicious but tasted fairly average, and the service was slow and inattentive, especially since the restaurant wasn't busy yet. We even saw some dishes sitting in the kitchen window for a long time. The one bright spot was that the restaurant is dog-friendly and even has a special menu for pups.

Love the pancakes! Like a cross between a crepe and a pancake. Incredible flavor! Very busy so come early.

If you're coming here, YOU NEED to request Nikko!! Hands down the best server I have EVER had -- no exaggeration. He was so sweet, checked up on us the perfect amount, and helped us celebrate a birthday like it was his own friend's. His energy made the whole experience 10x better. He gave amazing recommendations (all of them were spot on), made us feel taken care of the entire time, and honestly just made our brunch so fun. Not to mention...the food is so good. This is officially my #1 brunch spot and Nikko is THE server to ask for. Highly recommend!!

Their vibe is cozy and chill and great for catching up with friends or grabbing a casual meal. The food hits. Their most popular dishes clearly stand out. Their fish tacos, crispy shrimp plate, and loaded nachos always seem to fly out of the kitchen. Also, don't sleep on their burgers. Juicy and well-seasoned every time. Service is friendly and the place feels clean and comfortable. Overall it's a reliable spot. Worth checking out if you want good food at a casual spot.

Coffee - Meh. Muddy, weak flavor. Food - Good. We'll presented but not huge on flavor. Service - Friendly, but not super attentive. Price - Decent for area.

The food is good here... the problem they have here is getting people in and out... we added our name to the waitlist on Yelp...thinking it would be quicker... Not so...weekends are no fun here... The Staff is friendly ... and they bring your food out pretty quick... it's just the wait to get In that is frustrating... There is Parking behind the restaurant......

Had an extremely different experience this time!! Service was absolutely amazing! Nikko took such good care of us and made us feel so welcomed even walking in with our 4 little ones (our oldest being 5 years old) I know tables with kids can be a bit much for servers but not for Nikko, he was great! We ordered their maple fried chicken sandwich, salted caramel waffle, caramelized Tahitian vanilla bean French toast, and the kiddos had a traditional egg, bacon and biscuit breakfast. Everything was so delicious even their coffees were really good! Will definitely be back the next time we are in the area!

...and yet again, another wonderful dining experience here at Shorehouse Kitchen! Came here for lunch after playing 2 hours of pickleball, so needless to say we came hungry! LOL. As always it was a gorgeous day in Carlsbad, so we opted to sit outside. Still the same awesome service from the moment we were greeted and seated (always plus points for beautiful friendly smiles!). Even though we came at noon, we were still able to order from the breakfast menu! We all knew what we wanted and ordered the Angus Short Rib & Hashbrown Potato Cakes, and the Maple Fried Chicken Breakfast Sandwich, which were all spot on! We enjoyed our meal wholeheartedly and our bellies were happy and full! LOL. CHEERS and happy eating till next time...

First time trying Shorehouse kitchen and everything was amazing - ambiance, food, and service. I think I heard our server say her name's Ashley (I hope I heard correctly if there's an Ashley there), she was spectacular. Kudos to her for taking care of our group of 10 girls on a busy Saturday morning, along with the other tables around us. I shared some dishes with friends we tried the: - Angus short rib potato pancake dish and asked for a side of hollandaise sauce - Bacon Parmesan Risotto Benedict - side of breakfast potatoes - the mango & granola pancakes with guava syrup Everything was absolutely chefs kiss, a 10/10 - taste, presentation, quality. Highly recommend and would come back again.

Shorehouse Kitchen is a little overrated to me. It's a popular brunch spot both in Carlsbad and La Jolla with airy seating, but just okay food. We visited the Carlsbad location for Mothers Day, so the wait was understandably very long. Even getting onto the waitlist, given the size of our party, it took about an hour and a half. You do need to be within about a 10 mile radius to put yourself on the waitlist, so it doesn't work if you're trying to drive up from San Diego. They have seating in an "indoor" covered patio area, a back patio with umbrellas and a few seats in the front street. We were seated on the back patio area. The plus here is that they are dog friendly so we were able to bring our pup with us! They have an extensive brunch menu. I got the chilaquiles, which are my go to on a brunch menu, but they were just okay. They were really saucy and extremely spicy. The sauce was a little overpowering and didn't provide a great balance with the chips and other toppings. Overall, the sauce was almost too much that it was slightly inedible. I took it home and was able to add some more eggs and it made it better. I think people come here for the vibe. The food just isn't it for me, but I can appreciate that it's a nice spot to enjoy a meal and solid for group outings. Parking was also available in the lot next door, which was convenient, especially for this area.

Great brunch option in Carlsbad with its own parking lot and plenty of street parking. They have a small coffee shop location at the front as well for quick grab and go. Service was friendly and quick. They have a large outdoor seating patio with also heaters when it's cold. Also has an indoor area as well. Food was solid with their Smoked salmon bagel. I liked my short rib hash, but needed a little something to cut its heaviness. Their California omelette was a winner 5/5 would recommend.

It's definitely my new favorite spot in town!!! Definitely coming back every week now! Thank you guys! Amazing food and service!

Yelp waitlist for the win! I love that Shorehouse has a virtual waitlist. I think a ton of people opt to breakfast here because of it. So convenient & efficient! Vibes are great. Indoor-outdoor sea breeziness + great menu. I usually go with one of their fun Benny options, add extra hollandaise though. I notice they're light on it typically. Don't sleep on their drinks either! It's a full on fun cafe menu in addition to elaborate food options.

I love the food . There were many choices Breakfast and lunch . It's an outdoor cafe . The service was great too. It's a busy place but it was only a 20 minute wait . You get a text message wait list. It will be great for take out coffee beverages and a dessert scone or some pastry

So, so good. We stopped in due to my husband checking the yelp page and spotting a maple fried chicken sandwich he had to try. We were greeted immediately and sat at a really nice table. The wait staff was constantly checking on us and really pleasant. Our table had a view onto the main drag of town and had a lovely indoor/outdoor feel. We opted to have a vanilla latte and the kyoto macadamia iced coffee. Both great and if you don't finish they have a to go cup option. For mains, we had the mentioned sandwich. I went with the white chicken chili and the Caesar half salad. My husband loved the sandwich and he felt it was perfectly filling. The chili is more like an east coast chowder, slightly thin, but so damn good. It was so fresh and had nice chunks of chicken. We will add this to our regular list of stops whenever we're in town.

It was a very popular destination and there was a wait list for Saturday lunch. Status texts from Shorehouse were sent via a Yelp.to text which was something I hadn't seen before. Waiting to be seated, I saw something else I hadn't seen before -namely a "Doggie Menu" ranging from free water up to $8.95 for Fido's Finest - a mish mosh of ground beef, turkey and bacon! The menu for human beings is awesome -eggs, omelets, benedicts, carnitas, risotto cakes, pancakes, waffles, small Plates, salads, sandwiches, soups, flatbreads, etc. Three of us had $4.25 teas to drink, and one of us had a $6 fresh squeezed OJ for $6. My iced White Ginger Pear Tea was terrific. We went all over the menu for our food -Two eggs and toast ($7.95), Two eggs toast and bacon ($12.90), a Monterey Omelet ($18.95) and for me a Poblano White Chicken Chili ($9) and a Side Caesar ($7). My chili was very good. It was a generous portion of cannellini beans, roasted white corn, red bell peppers, red potatoes, white cheddar & cream with a big hunk of fantastic honey cornbread. The salad was Romaine, shaved parmesan, fried capers, garlic butter croutons, served with a house-made Caesar dressing. Our server, Daisy, was professional and helpful. All in all, we enjoyed our lunch at Shorehouse. The food, service, and menu variety were all very good.

Shore house kitchen is a great brunch spot. Lots of outdoor seating. Super cozy for families and larger groups. The staff were really helpful. The restaurant was super cute inside. I enjoyed the Caesar salad and chicken and Bree sandwich. It had lots of fresh pesto. The eggs Beni's were a big hit!

This place has become one of me & my friends' fave places for breakfast in the past couple of years. They have been consistently good. Went today at 10:15ish and knew that it was pretty risky because it's full-blown tourist season so we expected a wait. But surprisingly, we were able to get seated right away and had a choice of sitting inside or on the patio. We opted to dine al fresco. Our server was friendly, helpful & efficient. Food came out in a timely manner. We ordered the Beach Bowl and Roasted Veggie & Pistachio Benedict and had the Kyoto macadamia nut coffee. Each dish was absolutely delicious! They were perfectly crafted and flavors distinct & balanced. You definitely get what you pay for here. We love this place. It's casual and has a chill vibe. It's located in the heart of Carlsbad Village, has its own private parking lot, there's indoor & outdoor dining (some people bring their dogs), they provide great customer service and have great menu items including specialty coffees and drinks. We highly recommend! You won't be disappointed.

Sat outside on the patio on a Sunday morning. Ambience made it feel like we were on vacation. We ordered the classic eggs Benedict and the lemon blueberry cornmeal pancakes! Must try the cornmeal pancakes!!!! It was unique and delicious. My husband doesn't even like pancakes and he cleared the plate. Classic eggs Benedict was good too but the hash browns were a bit over fried... too crisp? All crunch and no actual potato in each bite. The Kyoto coffee was goood (not refillable lol) and their fresh squeezed OJ was great too. Would come back again!!!! Make sure to join waitlist on yelp if you go at prime time. I went right at 9am and no wait but as we were walking out there was a wait.

love love love! solid brunch spot for friends, family, and everything in between. they are alwayyyys busy, so make sure to arrive early and expect a short wait - but it goes quick, most we've waited is 25 mins for a large party. food is excellent for adults AND kids, my 5 year old daughter won't stop asking to go to shore house. 10/10 recommend, they get it right every time! staff and service is speedy, and the location/vibe is so cute and feels beachy + local at the same time. will be back again and again!

We had a nice breakfast here, outdoor patio. The spritzers are good, Bloody Mary too. The pancake breakfast just ok. They were hard on the bottom, stayed on grill too long. Sausage was dry. My pear and pancetta flatbread was good although it seemed like prosciutto not pancetta! Service dragged a bit.

Writing this review as we're still sitting at the table!! This place is AMAZING. Shoutout to Nikko our server for the amazing service and stellar menu recommendations!!!!!! We started our day here for my birthday breakfast and so excited to come back here!! Ambiance is so cute. Most of the seating is outdoor and it's sooooooo comfy. Modern farmhouse upscale surf shack vibes. Super cute for brunch with the family or girls. We're big brunch people, (we as in my parents and siblings) and are very satisfied with what we tried. We basically got everything off of the favorites menu!! Fresh squeezed OJ is solid!!! PORK CARNITAS CHILAQUILES, ANGUS SHORT RIB & HASH BROWN POTATO CAKES, MAPLE FRIED CHICKEN BREAKFAST SANDWICH, French toast, the short rib Benedict. I have no notes. This place is a must try if you're a foodie.

The portions at Shorehouse Kitchen are quite generous. We got the angus short rib & hash brown potato cakes and the mango pancakes with housemade granola & guava syrup. The hash brown was cooked to a perfect crisp and the short rib was so tender. 2 mango pancakes was more than enough though I wished there were more cut mango on the pancakes. Service was lacking and it is likely due to the busy Sunday brunch crowd. Our waitress did not check in on us throughout the meal nor fill up our water cups until she came to drop off the check with a "when you're ready" when we were almost done eating. Not the best service experience but had a great food experience.

I have only been here 1 other time and it was great so tried it again with my family. It's dog friendly and offers outside dining. Food and coffee were delicious. Service was again great too.

My fiancé and I have been going to Shore House Kitchen in Carlsbad for about five years now. When I first started coming to the village, Shore House was easily our favorite place for brunch. The food was always fresh, the service warm and consistent, and we loved seeing the same friendly faces each weekend. Unfortunately, over the past year or so, we've noticed a lot of changes--and not for the better. There's been significant staff turnover, and the familiar servers and hosts we came to know over many years are no longer there. That familiarity and consistency was a big part of what made Shore House special for us. More concerning, though, has been the quality of the food and attention to detail. The last three or four times we've gone, something has been noticeably wrong with our orders: Most recently, my fiancé ordered an omelet that was supposed to have cheese inside. Instead, it came out without cheese, and rather than remaking it, the kitchen just threw white cheddar on top and microwaved it. Needless to say, she was pretty disappointed. The time before, I ordered my favorite salmon salad, which usually comes with a great variety of toppings and sides. Instead, I was served salmon on top of plain lettuce, with many of the key ingredients missing. It felt incomplete and rushed, which was a big letdown. We've left disappointed several times now, which is hard because Shore House used to be one of our go-to spots in Carlsbad. We truly hope they can turn things around and get back to the level of quality and service that made them such a standout place when we first started coming.

Meh. My last review was from over 6 years ago, so I was optimistic about revisiting Shorehouse Kitchen when some girlfriends picked it as the place where we were going to have brunch last Saturday. Judging by the wait I experienced at my last visit and how many people I see lined up out front when I drive by at least once a week, I anticipated that our 10am arrival for a party of 6 might be a little hairy but I was pleasantly surprised when we got there and they were able to seat us straight away. We were seated out on the makeshift back patio at one of the white painted picnic benches. Seating was a liiiiittle tight for our group, but we made it work. We all immediately noticed that our sweater sleeves were sticking to the table, which was a pretty gross start. I had some wipes (mom life) that I used to wipe down the table as best I could, but they didn't do much so it could've been more the paint rather than grime, but nevertheless it was pretty nasty. Our server was fine - not incredibly friendly but she was consistent and checked in on us periodically throughout our meal. Everyone ordered some sort of a fancy coffee and a variety of plates. I chose the classic eggs benedict with potatoes ($17.75). Plates came out 2-3 at a time, so we all politely held off on starting to eat until all the plates arrived. Mine was one of the last to arrive, however on the first bite I was disappointed to find that it was already cooler than room temp. The last time I visited, food temperature was an issue at that time, too. Not a great trend. The other girls I was dining with all seemed to enjoy their meals for the most part (at least, no one said anything negative - nor did I). There were a couple of half-eaten plates that were scooped up by the busser, with no requests for boxes. This visit probably solidified my opinion that Shorehouse Kitchen is definitely overhyped and underwhelming. They are very lucky to have a great spot in the Village, drawing in all the tourists and perhaps locals who don't value or expect appropriate food temps or consistency. I, for one, am unfortunately not one of those - in my humble opinion, there are dozens of better spots to dine at instead.

I really REALLY like this place. Always a lovely experience. The food is absolutely amazing. I've been here quite a few times and it never disappoints. Took my friends there this morning and they were also impressed. Two of us had the chilaquiles (I had the one with both sauces -red/green) and my friend just had the regular green. Both are a chefs kiss. My other friend ordered the pork Benedict which was also delish!:) Also! O server, Pedro, was very nice and attentive which made our experience that much better. Now you have two new fans!(my friends) because they can't wait to come back!:)

Wow - Definitely 4.5 stars. Give it a try. Place was packed, lines to get in. No wonder why - Great food, great service, indoor and outdoor options, and there is parking out front, on the side, or in the large lot a little behind over by the train station. We got there a little before the rest of our party of 7 to put in our name. They advised 20-30 minute wait and our table was ready right about 20 minutes, Then Nikko came over to take our orders, but before that, he gave us the break down, yelp style review, of the menu and his favorite items. Very unique approach, and I liked it. I went with one of his recommendations the Maple Fried Chicken Breakfast Sandwich. The menu describes it as, "All natural chicken breast, sunnyside up farm egg, maple dijon aioli, baby arugula, honey cured bacon, aged white cheddar, brioche bun, served with your choice of side". You can't eat words, but you can eat this delicious sandwich. I swapped out sunnyside egg for scrambled eggs, and for the side I went with the O'Brien breakfast potatoes. My breakfast meal was gone before anyone else was halfway done, it was delicious. I also tried the hot chocolate, and it was one of the best I have had. The whipped cream on top was unique, flavorful, and a sight to behold. They also have a sweet section up front, they look delicious too, but I didn't get to try any of those.

We sat on the patio which was heated and cozy. Nikko was our server and he is a gem. Nikko made us his signature mimosas with guava and OJ. Delicious. My friends and I loved the breakfast options. I had the Brioche Breakfast Grilled Cheese Sandwich Organic spinach and aged white cheddar omelet, with choice of bacon, sausage, turkey sausage, Canadian bacon, or fresh tomato, served with your choice of side. Spectacular and excellent portions. Too much to eat in one setting. My friends had the Maple Fried Chicken Breakfast Sandwich and the Angus Short Rib & Hash Brown Potato Cakes. Spectacular.

Good was great! I've been to the other location before. The wait was super long, I've noticed even though we were a 2 top, my friend got on the wait list at 11:30, we didn't get seated until 2:30 almost. We waited and checked in but everyone else was seated before us. I'm upset because on the waitlist, we kept getting pushed back in the line and it didn't make sense, even when we were there, we checked in and saw everyone else besides us had a table. We were seated, I would say standard time for the server to come greet us. This is where I had an issue, lovely place, but I wish the service was decent. She brought us the water and having waited so long to get seated we knew what we wanted so we put in the order as soon as we sat down, 15 mins later, food came out and after finishing the food, we still haven't seen the server come back to check on us. every time we had seen her she'd walk away, I think one of the main things was, we had 30 second interactions with her in the span of our dining experience, we weren't checked on, it took her 10-15 mins for a cup of water and we were just left on the back burner. Overall food is consistent with the other location I've tried. It was great and I absolutely loved the burrata share plate!

We were seated just a few mins after checking in with the hostess. I did put myself on the waitlist before getting there, which I highly recommend doing, especially on a weekend. Got a table outdoors, right next to the road which we didn't mind as long as a car was already parked there. Our server was very friendly and took our drink orders right away. We got the salted caramel latte (delicious!) and the Kyoto macadamia nut coffee (it's a cold brew and my husband enjoyed it). Food did take more than 20 mins to arrive but I'm going to assume it was due the usual weekend brunch rush. I had the mango guava pancakes as my entree. It was good, but hard to finish one all the compote topping ran out. My husband got the pork benny, which he did finish but gives it a 3.75/5. Overall, it's a nice brunch place but probably not in my favorites list of brunch spots in SD. May try a different entree next time, but would definitely get the salted caramel latte again!

I really enjoyed the breakfast at this spot. We came bright and early so we didn't have to wait for seating. The eggs benedict good and my kids' lemon blueberry pancakes were so delicious. I'd go back just for those cakes. They split them for my kiddos at no surcharge as well.

A friend and I stopped by for breakfast on a Friday morning. It was busy but no wait to get seated. They do not take reservations just FYI. This Shorehouse Kitchen location is in the heart of Carlsbad Village. The vibe is modern, casual, and coastal. It's a flowing indoor outdoor restaurant. There is a tiny parking lot next to the restaurant but it was full. There is plenty of street parking around. The menu has all the typical breakfast items and drinks. The food was good but nothing special. Our server was Pedro and he was great. He has the most soothing voice, was kind and professional, promptly took our order, and checked in during our meal. The minus one star is for the elevated prices (total ended up being $35 per person for basic food) and I realized at the end they forgot my toast :(

We stopped in for brunch after picking something up in the area and the outdoor seating was really nice, it was a beautiful breezy day but they had the patio heaters on so it wasn't too cold in the shade. The reason I rated it 4 instead of 5 stars is the food wasn't as flavorful as I had hoped, the carnitas were cooked pretty well and they weren't dry at all, just lacking in flavor. I did also notice they are a little light with the sauce, for the benedict and the chilaquiles. Other than that the service and the ambiance was fine.

We came to have breakfast at this local spot down in Carlsbad, Ca. It was super nice and had the standardized American breakfast. I ordered the two eggs, toast and a side of turkey sausage with hash brown. We also ordered a waffle that came topped with bananas. It was so delicious! I have to say my favorite part was ordering the Hershey's Classic Mocha! It really tasted like delicious chocolate. Unfortunately we are not local so we cannot visit anytime soon.

A really nice spot for brunch on a beautiful San Diego day. We went to the Carlsbad location and we enjoyed our family time there a lot. It gets the job done for brunch with some decent bites. I think there is two locations. Located in the Carlsbad Village, this place attracts a good crowd especially being next to a Handels. So depending on what time you go, parking is either really good or a challenge. They have street parking spots, but you're competing with everyone else. There's a small lot right next to the restaurant but its not a lot of spots. The restaurant itself was cute clean. They offer both indoor and outdoor seating and are dog friendly too with a doggie menu. I had no issues with service personally. I thought they did just fine. Hostess greeted us with a smile and was very kind. Waitress was very attentive, constantly checked up on us and even gave our dogs water. Personally no issues. I saw all the staff moving and hustling, so you can't really complain there. Food was good, but ran a tad bit more on the pricier end for what you get. Although, its Carlsbad, right next to the beach, you can't be surprised that it might be more expensive. I had the chicken, pesto and burrata sandwich. It was pretty good except for the bread. Bread was dry that I felt like I scraped the roof of my mouth. My favorite was the brussel sprouts. They were yummy and flavorful and the bacon was a good touch. It was a good place to try for brunch, but I think its more of an ambiance spot. Its in the heart of the Carlsbad Village, not far from the water, and has a good vibe. Food could be worked on, its your average and decent brunch food. I don't actively see myself wanting to go back, but if someone offered I wouldn't say no.

The spring rolls were many and were fresh. I had the shrimp added and it was flavorful. I also ordered the drunken noodles with shrimp and it was very tasty. I ordered medium spice and it wasn't spicy at all so don't be afraid to fire it up!

Cute spot for a day out and brunch meet up with the besties. We sat outside and it was such lovely weather it made the experience even better. Drink menu was my favorite aspect of the restaurant with such a list to choose from. 8/10: crispy parmesan risotto & honey cured bacon benedict with the breakfast potatoes. I enjoyed the pairing of different flavors that actually worked well. The potatoes were alright in my opinion

Came during a staycation in Carlsbad, there was a street fair happening but surprisingly the wait wasn't longer than 15 minutes. Tried to grab a coffee while we waited at the coffee bar that is attached to their restaurant, after waiting 5 minutes and studying the menu the staff didn't say hi or acknowledge us at all. Ended up not trying the coffee, bummer. Service was lacking, understandably they are busy but communication would have been nice. The food however was good. Not amazing, my bf tried the short rib hash and gave it 10/10. I had the shorehouse burger (not pictured) because it was nothing special. My favorite part of my meal was the house special salad but there was nothing special about it. Ambiance is the best thing about this place. Asking for the tab now, and oh look...my mimosa is barely arriving with it! Service: 3/10

Super cute, dog friendly restaurant with a lot of outdoor seating. Right next to the coaster though so it does get a little loud. Service was quick and friendly Chilaquiles: 9/10. Pretty good and filling. Tomatillo sauce wasn't as spicy as expected

Fresh squeezed oj is a bomb! I'm a coffee person. But really who can resist fresh squeezed juice. Unfortunately everything else weren't that great. French toast is alright. Average - nothing good or bad about it. Tofu frittata has no flavor at all. Had to adjust it with salt, pepper, and hot sauce myself. There's toast that came with it was not properly toasted - it was soaked in oil in the middle. The espresso in the latte was ok, but the milk is way too foamy. I'm sorry but the barista needs more training. The restaurant is cute, half-open concept. Quite loud considering it's in a busy area. It feels nice and alive if that makes sense. Our server was nice and sweet. 4 stars for the service and ambience. Not for the food unfortunately.

Amazing brunch place!! We sat outside in the patio and it was so cute and perfect weather. Our server was awesome and had so many good recommendations. I got the short rib hash and it was DELICIOUS! I can never finish my full meal at brunch but I almost licked the plate clean lol it was so good!! Not too salty and the meat was perfectly juicy! 10/10 would 100% come here again :)

This place was really yummy. We went on a Sunday so there was a little bit of wait (to be expected) but we left a phone number and checked out the cool shops nearby! They texted us within 30 minutes to be seated! Everything on the menu looked really good, but the Maple fried chicken breakfast sandwich caught my eye. Made a great decision because it was filling and soo tasty. I can't wait to come back and try one of the Benedicts. I tried one of the iced coffees and it was good just a little sweet! Next time I will definitely be trying the lavender honey cortado. Definitely check this place out just expect a little wait on the weekends!

Exceptional food, out of this world service. Shout out to Sally for making our 10/10 experience even better! The fried chicken breakfast sandwich was so flavorful and a perfect start to my day!

Huge shout out to Pedro, we came in on resurrection Sunday it was pretty mellow at 9AM. Hostess was super cute and helpful as our server Pedro was kind, patient and very friendly. He took the wonderful pictures of our family about to enjoy our fabulous food, I had the steak and eggs it was delicious with my delicious latte!!

We found Shorehouse on Yelp and decided to give it a try. The food was fantastic but the place can definitely use a bit of a pick me up. It's not that it's old but unfortunately it hasn't been maintained. Which leads me to...I'd like to rate Shorehouse Kitchen between a 3.5-4. Let's talk about the good. The food was so good that I didn't even get a chance to snap a pic of anything before we gobbled it up. Definitely recommend the brioche breakfast sandwich and the omelette (we made up our own) and it was fabulous. The kids split a French toast, a little disappointed they didn't include the chantily cream but I didn't ask for it because they were content with what they had. They were kind enough to do both bananas and blueberries so that was nice. As for drinks, the juices are cold pressed and our little ones were not a fan but to each their own. The coffee was so so. Not comparable to the food quality. I would recommend they look into new coffee roasts as well as cleaning up the bathroom area. Although the bathrooms themselves were pretty clean someone in management or staff thought it would be cute to hang signs on the doors made of cardboard and write on them "and everyone else". Meaning the restrooms are neutral. Why not just change the sign to unisex or all gender restroom that looks clean and professional? Or even copy paper printed out would have been classier than the cardboard. Sorry, but it really bothered me. lol Also, beware there is a train that runs right behind the restaurant. It was fun for the kids so it was fine for us but if you're sensitive to loud noise just thought I'd mention it as well. Overall, I will be happy to try it again. We were in town to pickup my new Tesla but plan to go back in the near future as it's such a cute little city. Also, the staff was nice but not overly nice.

3 star food, but 5 star staff The staff here was incredible. They were so very attentive and kind. I can't have any dairy so the extra care our staff member took throughout our time dining there was exceptional. the food is definitely ok, nothing too crazy or too horrible. The food is a bit pricey, but that tends to be par for the course when near the water. The vanilla latte was great and my wife enjoyed her breakfast burrito. My potatoes were soaked in oil so I avoided it, but the rest of the food was pretty good. again the staff here was very accommodating and I truly appreciate it. We didn't catch her name but her additional attention and care to the dietary restrictions was definitely appreciated.
