As soon as Shoreline had this place built, they became quite stuck-up. Of the three suggestions I made, such as having a public bulletin board and having a map of the area (including local businesses), it seemed like too much clutter for them. To arrive at this location in the parking garage and then walk in any kind of weather to the other end of the building is not a good thing in the Pacific Northwest.

Someone dumped a couple shopping carts and many other items near the sidewalk across the street from where I live. After a couple weeks it was a soggy mess, and I was tired of looking at it. I called the City of Shoreline, and the Community Response team came out the same day and cleaned up the mess. I so appreciate this excellent service. Thank you City of Shoreline for setting such a good example of doing what it takes so we can have pride in the appearance of our community.

The city of Shoreline is a bad place. They fire their employees for calling in sick. They break into their employee's email accounts to recall the sick notice. They have the police harass them after they are fired. I know a Structural Plans Examiner they did this to. They told one employee not to walk his dog at the city parks.

The building on the outside has a bit of dystopian coldness to it but inside the people are warm and inviting. Shoreline residents should stop in and see all the city has to offer. They also do plays her in the outside courtyard in the summer.

Just a little racial insensitivity here today. They're getting better, but they need more diversity.

This place is the worst ive seen out of 982 projects. If you think your going to build here think again. Corrupt, confused, and lost! They fire employees and your paperwork gets lost. Where is enforcement to look into this shady place.

Yelp
The City of Shoreline City Hall on Middle Avenue North is a large building shared between the City Hall and the Police department. The court house is located in a different building a few blocks/streets away. On my most recent visit on Thursday 21 March 2024, I found two levels of parking, with a mostly full upper parking lot. Oddly, the electric vehicle spots were closer to the entrance than the handicap spot(s), for the upper parking lot, and there was only one handicap spot. Grounds were open for public access/exploring on foot. By one of the entrances to the City Hall was a water fountain(s) art piece. Other art pieces were located across the grounds. A benched sitting area was centered around a flag pole with the Washington State flag and the United States of America flag. Benches, stone pieces, and bricks were dedicated to past/present members of the military. Curiously, I found no voter's ballot dropbox. This is something a number of City Halls in King County are equipped with, however not Shoreline City Hall as of this visit on Thursday 21 March 2024.

Yelp
Over the years of living here, the quality of living has surely declined. With most businesses being closed and bought for apartments, including the post office, and the recent plans for school budget cuts made not by students, but for students, the city I used to love has fallen from its podium. I am truly ashamed of the city I live in.

Yelp
I came into city hall for Shoreline for a meeting on 3/10. This is a new building, and it's green, meaning it's built for the environment. The architecture is lovely, simple and modern. I love the long fireplace in the lobby along with the piano being used as art with the cloud installment above it. They have art displayed on the walls as well which was nice to admire. I wanted to ask if it was all art done by local artists but forgot. I met with two different people who worked for the city. Both women were polite, professional and warm. Parking for visitors is around the back of the building. There are electrical charges for electric cars. You can park across the street at Walgreen's or the other direction at Trader Joe's if the city's lot is full.

Yelp
The blatant power trip that we have dealt with for a few weeks now from one of Shoreline's 'code enforcement and customer response team' members at our home address where we have lived for over two decades has been comical to say the least. He's taken a particular interest in parking spaces right outside our front hedge and just before the street. The last straw was when my vehicle that runs and has valid tabs on it was slapped with an impound sticker containing a bunch of misinformation. The individual had returned to our address out of spite after I left a message at their phone trying to communicate accurate information about another mistake he made regarding a separate piece of my property. It's very reassuring when I speak to the King County Sheriff's office and they inform me that these impound stickers with inaccurate information on them slapped on by the city hold no immediate or real implications to my life and property. City of Shoreline please encourage your employees to carry out their responsibilities with honesty and integrity for a change of pace going forward. I'm confident that most of them do but am now well aware of the fact that not all of them do.

Yelp
The receptionist at the front was helpful and friendly. Steve M has a extremely bad attitude. Not only were they unorganized, I had to correct one of the clerks on my permit application so I would not get overcharged. It took a argument before she understood what was going on. She made the corrections after Steve M came out and briefly scanned the application and said "that's the way it is".... he was also corrected. I understand when they have a long day of customers that may be unorganized or have bad attitudes... but the customer service was TRASH.

Yelp
So far have had really exceptional service with various questions when I called or emailed in to city hall and planning dept. Kate Skone in particular went above and beyond in detailed email responses. I really appreciate how much information they have put out to the public concerning the up coming 145th light rail re-zoning...whether you agree or disagree with the proposals, you can't argue that there isn't a ton of information put out by the city for it's citizens to keep abreast of coming changes.

Yelp
Ok lets get this straight. You spent years expanding highway 99 from 145th to 185th. So why does it take longer then ever to commute thru your fine city? Maybe it's the multiple new pedestrian crossings you placed along this route. I have no problems sharing the road with pedestrians and I want to see them safe. My problem is when ever a metro bus goes by (which is like every5-10 minutes) when they stop by a pedestrian crossing and the riders get off the bus and hit the button to cross the street, it works right away for them and stops all traffic. My question is why cant these crossings get into sync with the traffic signals so we can still have traffic move at a good rate. When I drive thru Shoreline I seem to always get stopped by a ped crossing light right after a bus stops there, don't want people dying crossing the street but maybe you could hire some engineers that could put the traffic and pedestrian crossing in tune with each other. When you widened the roads it was was the most confusing dangerous road altering construction zones I have ever encountered........where did you hire these people? I also love the new overhead pedestrian/bike crossing that goes over 99 near New Westminster Way and I am sure the 6 or 7 people that use it daily agree also. I also love how my commute is actually longer now then before you widened the lanes of 99.
