The 38 Best Restaurants in Dublin, Ireland | Eater

"You’ll be tempted to order so many things at Alon Salman’s restaurant, Shouk, so here’s a game plan: Start with some cocktails, followed by the mezze platter, and then perhaps the chargrilled smoked eggplant. Then dig into the meats. There are serious grills in action here, and the aroma of shawarma wafts through the air. Vibe check: The outside seating area is particularly fun." - Corinna Hardgrave

I'd highly recommend this place! The food served here is bursting with flavour and has great textures. We ordered the Arayes and Chicken Skewers Pita, both of which were fantastic. The entrance is to the side of the Drumcondra Arts & Business campus building. The service was great and quick. They have a lovely beer garden at the back with plenty of outdoor seating.

This is my second time coming here and it never disappoints. I highly recommend the Mezze Platter as a starter — it’s one of my favorite things. The hummus is super creamy, and the bread basket lets you try all the dips, which are honestly amazing. The Arayes is also delicious. The dough is really crispy — it’s like eating a burger, but with that perfect crunchy texture. The service is excellent — they’re quick, there are no long waits, and everyone is super friendly. Just one recommendation: bring a jacket if you’re sitting outside. Even on a warm day, there’s a breeze, and if you tend to get cold, you’ll definitely want something to keep you warm. Inside felt a bit too warm for me.

It’s so easy to miss this place! Walked by it so many times and didn’t realise it was there. Cosy interior. Friendly staff and fast service. Food was delicious! All of it! The grilled chicken was full of flavour and very tender.

A place that is hard to miss from the street, but it opens up to a beautiful and big garden with plenty of shade and tables, Amazing atmosphere, minus the occasional horns and the loud murmurs of the trains passing by. The waitresses are experienced and friendly. The Pita is really good, great pickles, sauces, hummus, meat was not spared, although it was a bit too oily, and the pita bread itself felt fresh. The minty Lemonade is top notch, sweet and refreshing. Only two beers on draught, I would say much enough, others might like more variety. Definitely need to book a table especially if you're looking to go during the usual busy hours and on sunny days. All in all definitely recommended !

I've visited the place 3 or 4 times, and the food and service are always impeccable—but their delivery doesn’t follow the same standard. I’ve ordered multiple times, and it’s always a “surprise”, meaning sometimes the food is amazing and the portions are as expected, while other times it’s not up to the standard they offer. Once, I ordered labaneh, and the portion was half of what they usually send, for example. The staff also doesn’t seem to know how to manage the system: they don’t update missing items, and when something you’ve ordered is unavailable, instead of refunding just that item, they cancel the entire order🤦🏼‍♀️ For the first time, I ordered baklava for dessert, and the picture on the website is totally misleading. I’m sorry, but charging €6 for that small portion is absolutely nonsense.

A Fantastic Middle Eastern Experience at Shouk, Drumcondra If you’re looking for a vibrant, flavour-packed culinary experience in Dublin, Shouk in Drumcondra is a must-visit. This outdoor food hall offers a warm, relaxed ambiance that perfectly complements its delicious Middle Eastern cuisine. We ordered the Large Mezze Platter, which was a feast in itself — with crispy falafels, soft pitas, creamy hummus, fresh salads, smoky babaganoush, and a bold hit of Zhug. While I personally didn’t enjoy the tahini (just a matter of personal taste), my friends absolutely loved it. For dessert, the Knafeh was the real standout — rich, sweet, and beautifully presented. Drinks-wise, they have a small but decent selection of cocktails and pints; nothing extraordinary, but they complement the food nicely. The staff were friendly and attentive, and the overall vibe was laid-back yet lively — perfect for a casual evening out. I’m already looking forward to going back and trying more dishes. If you’re a fan of Middle Eastern flavours, Shouk is definitely worth a visit.

Great place! Exceptionally tasty food, nicely served. We took sharing plate and everything was delicious. Only hummus was a bit too watery. Service was really nice and helpful. We’ll come back for sure

What a gem !!! Relaxed atmosphere with a great music. Flavours were off the charts and everything was so fresh. Staff was amazing and so helpful. They were checking on us regularly irrespective of the rush. Definitely to be visited and again n again!! We ordered : 1. Mezze platter - Came with very tasty options of dips and salads with very freshly made pita. Never had such a soft pita before. The falafel was next level. 2. Chicken skewers - Another must try dish. 3. Hummus chicken shwarama - What a dish. Very light hummus topped with chicken shawarma came with pita bread with side of olives and pickles. 4. Chicken shawarma in a pita - came as shawarma roll. Again another exceptional dis. But portion size can be improved. 5. Knafeh - Best knafeh in Dublin. It was made fresh. They took 15 mins to make it but did inform us that this order takes time when we placed the order. But definitely worth all the wait. Not tooo sweet not too buttery. Perfect balance of flavours

Yelp
Spotted Shouk on Dublin's The Eater Essentials and we booked this dinner res as our first night. Overall, the food was fantastic, great price point. and portion sizes were fantastic. Shouk's interior is very cute, with high ceilings and an open set up allowing you to dine outside, in a room connected to the outdoor space, or a darker, "indoor" area. food: Fantastic. As someone who is GF and was worried about this when traveling abroad, the GF options where fabulous and the restaurant is very accommodating. The food was fresh and served warm right as it was finished - huge plus service: Servers were kind and lovely :) Every table reservation gives you 1hr and 45 minutes to dine. if you're running late, you won't lose your table but you'll just be seated for a shorter amount of time - keep that in mind :) ambiance: The only reason I'd give Shouk 4 stars is because of the distance of the tables. In the room connected to the outdoor space where we were seated, things did feel a bit cramped. The restaurant has an "open kitchen" where you can see your food being cooked and come out which is great, but we did sit right next to the kitchen and things got a bit stuffy, despite the doors being open outside. Not sure if this was ventilation or the fact that there were many tables and folks dining that night, but that's the only thing i'd change about our experience.

Yelp
We schlepped across to the north side in search of a special midweek late lunch. Very handy parking around the corner. The restaurant is right beside Drumcondra railway station, tucked into a corner of the Old St Vincent's Centre for the Deaf. Inside a cosy but buzzy dining room greets you with an impressive number of hungry diners tucking in to the Middle Eastern/Lebanese fare. We ordered a large mezze to share together with a Batta which is mostly roast sweet potatoes stuffed with lamb mince, yoghurt and spices. Absolutely fantastic. The mezze came with plentiful flatbreads which we hungrily filled with deliciousness and devoured. As it was lunchtime, we decided not to have any wine but I'd be pretty confident it would only be better with a crisp Pinot Grigio or Sauvignon Blanc. As it was, we had some sparkling water instead and agreed it was a standout meal that was filing but also vaguely healthy. Service was speedy and attentive and we emerged into the sunshine to begin, once again, the odyssey across the Liffey. We will be back.

Yelp
I have been to Tel Aviv a few times and have completely fallen in love with Israeli food. It's healthy, fresh, great for sharing and it's food you can talk about. So you can imagine my excitement when I found this place. The atmosphere is warm and cozy and the staff is very friendly. If you like dining outside, they have a pretty cute patio out back. I got the sampler for one and the aubergine. So, first I would like to say that the sampler for one? More than enough food. By the time the aubergine arrived I could barely eat a bite. The falafel was nice and crispy on the outside, and moist and delicious on the inside. The hummus was And all the little side dishes were really nice. The aubergine was good but I really want to try the cauliflower next ti

Yelp
My better half has been going here for a while with her (girl) friends and has always rated it. So today i was looking forward to seeing what the fuss was about. Oh my. It is lovely. It is a cute small place that recently has extended out the back with a bar and music booth. In the old part the rooms are small and cosy and feel old. But the best part is the wonderful middle Eastern food with a real flavour of Lebanon and Turkey. The Mezze was large, varied and delicious. The whole cauliflower cooked with tahini and pomegranates was a revaluation and if you really want meat, the chicken skewers were plump and flavoursome. Shouk sells wine by the glass but you can bring your own. The staff were very helpful and friendly and in the end I could not think that at about €20 a head, this place must be on of the best restaurants in Dublin to eat your fill deliciously and healthily.

Yelp
I have been here a few times on recommendation. I was not disappointed! It's casual, cosy and food is delicious. We went back last weekend and the waitress gave us recommendations on our order and said we should try the cauliflower, along with the mezze platter (highly recommend). It's very reasonably priced and you have the option to BYOW or Beer and pay corkage. All round five star. Do book a good bit in advance as it is a popular spot.
