A Comprehensive Guide to Classic Restaurants and Bars in Las Vegas | Eater Vegas

"My parents and I used to eat at the Showboat buffet on Boulder Highway after shopping at Gemco — both those places are now gone and their lots are just dust, but the memories of that routine stick with me." - Eater Staff

This place is an absolute dump. Everything is completely run down and no matter where you are in this hotel it either smells like pot or urine. ||However….the room itself was not too bad. It was clearly one of the rooms updated a few years back. ||The other positive is it’s dirt cheap compared to the other hotels in the area. We are here to see a show at Ocean. Ocean for this weekend is $699 per night. Snowboat is $149 per night and it’s only. 5 minute walk so it was good enough for the price.

The Cozy Suites at the Showboat Resort is an awesome place to stay. Their customer service throughout the trip process was phenomenal. Room accommodations was great. 2 bedrooms with 3 baths is the dream. U feel u are away from the world. It is so worth it to book and stay with Cozy Suites.

The rooms were lovely and spacious with good views. The overall hotel was pretty dirty, looked like carpets hadn’t been cleaned for years and the lobby was incredibly noisy. Beach was great and the waterpark was fun but it’s closed for most of the days off peak - something which should be front and centre on the website and hotel pages. It was so misleading because both these pages advertise for 7 day a week waterpark but only when going to book tickets or actively look through the website do you see that it’s closed the whole week except Friday. |Front desk staff - especially at check in - were not very friendly and helpful. They almost made it feel like our questions were a nuisance (we literally asked 3 questions). |We also asked for the room to be serviced daily and they did but only on one day. The other day they just left towels but didn’t do anything else. The kids play area (jumping castle and playroom thing) were advertised as being amazing but were actually incredibly underrated and required payment to use. They also were only open from 4pm and when we got there at 4 they told us “no we decided to open at 4:30” which was highly frustrating. Ultimately it was a decent trip thanks to the beach and the rooms but overall would likely not return.

My recent stay at the Showboat Atlantic City was a letdown. First, the cleanliness was a major issue. The hallway on our floor was visibly dirty, and there was a constant, strong smell of marijuana. The room itself had a few maintenance problems, including only one working sink. The air conditioning was also a big disappointment; it was set to a cool temperature but never dropped below 70 degrees. We also had trouble with basic amenities. There was no coffee pot or hairdryer in the room. When we asked housekeeping about a hairdryer, they told us to call the front desk. I called the front desk at least ten times from the room phone and my cell phone, but no one ever answered. Finally, the security was questionable. The key card was supposed to be required to access our floor from the elevator, but this feature didn't work at all, which felt like a significant safety lapse. Overall, it was convenient place for us to stay for the night after a concert, but definitely would not stay here again.

This was the worst stay I have had in Atlantic City in about 20 years! Proper fees of you stay are not given! No Valet parking available! No carts locked up and not available to transport your luggage from self parking! Attitude given at front desk! Elevators smell bad! Room cold ,even with heat turned up it was still uncomfortable and chilly! Overall I could have went to Ballys for a few more dollars and received everything to my liking like always when I am visiting Atlantic City! I was unaware there was no casino .It has been that long since I have been here! I have to children with me to go to water Park! It was suppose to be a 62 Birthday visit to that turned out absolutely a nightmare! Will never return or refer to anyone!!!

The room was fine. It was clean and the two bedroom three bath was spacious for eight people. The rest of the hotel was disgusting. The elevators had no certifications posted from the fire department that they had been inspected and The doors from one of the elevators kept getting stuck, causing people to be scared to use it. One morning, there was dog pee in the elevator and someone just put a wet floor sign over it and it wasn’t cleaned up for almost 4 hours in another area. There was dog poop next to an arcade game on Friday when we arrived and that wasn’t cleaned up until Monday evening And yes, we did inform the staff that it was there. There was a coffee shop in the front and that was very nice. The coffee and food were good if you stay in the apartments it’s a pretty long walk to get out to the boardwalk. It would have been one thing if they redid the hotel and just tried to keep some of the old charm of the show boat, but this was just old and dirty. I Know Atlantic City isn’t known for its cleanliness, but this was on another level. I would not stay here again.

Cleanliness & Maintenance Issues • The shower curtain in our room was moldy. • The room smelled strongly of wet dog, and no air fresheners were provided despite repeated requests. • The beds were extremely low, lumpy, and uncomfortable; the sofa bed mattress was thin and caused physical pain. • The hotel did not resemble the photos advertised, and I felt misled by the marketing. Poor Service & Rude Staff • Front desk staff consistently failed to answer the phone. • Housekeeping staff were unprofessional—giving attitude when asked for towels during a four-day stay, banging on our door, and handing linens as if we were an inconvenience. • When I asked a housekeeping staff member in the hallway for assistance, I was told, “That isn’t my room.” • Staff in the food facilities were rude, and the area itself was dirty and unsanitary. • When I attempted to speak to a manager, I was ignored and even hung up on. False or Misleading Information • I specifically called ahead to confirm the presence of a family-friendly pool and was told “yes.” Upon arrival, I was informed there was no pool and was directed to an on-site water park instead. (Which cost more money) • Parking information was not disclosed during booking or check-in. When I declined valet service, staff simply pointed toward a distant lot instead of offering assistance. Unpleasant Environment • Other guests were loud, running and banging on doors late at night. • The arcade attendant was dismissive, telling us to “check the kiosk next time” while standing idle. Overall, there was no sense of hospitality or customer care during our stay. We found ourselves counting down the days until we could return home—an experience I have never had even at much more modest accommodations.

This place is absolutely HORRIBLE. Run down and DIRTY. The carpets are filled with stains and tape holding it together. We had to get our room switched because the tv and light didn’t work. The layout completely sucks. A ton of games out of order in the arcade. No hotel pool because they want to force you to buy their water park tickets. The water park was so so. It’s currently 9pm and there is “car show” going on at the top of the garage. They are playing LOUD music and revving their engines! I can’t believe i can hear this in my room! I called the front desk thinking no way this is supposed to be happening and i was shocked to learn that yes they were aware. Normally I wait around and slowly make my way out at checkout but I can’t wait to leave this place! Worst stay EVER! UPDATE!!!!! BEG BUGS!!!!!!!!!!! Room 1583
