"When the summer crowds are gone, Montauk can feel like it used to before it became a party town,  and you can experience the fishing village vibe at the updated Yacht Club’s waterfront restaurant overlooking the marina. Cacio e pepe pizza or curried mussels are flavorful launches, while tuna steak with sesame, ginger, and coconut rice; or cod with turnips and smoked trout roe, are fresh from the nearby docks." - Beth Landman

Yelp
Great service including the hostess, servers, and bartenders. Beautiful view with a classy yet fun atmosphere. When you order a double on the rocks here, it's an actual double pour! Perfect dry vodka martinis as well. Highly recommend the MYC Caico Peppe Pizza to start as the hostess suggested. It's easily sharable between two with possible leftover slices - forgot to take a picture though. Thin, fire roasted crust packed with a rich, cheesy garlic sauce - a must order. Loved the oysters with the Granny Smith apple "purée"? Not sure what it is exactly, but it's great! Sour and sweet complimenting the rich oyster - I've never had anything like it. The Tuna Tartar and Fluke Ceviche were fresh, but I'd classify this ceviche as deconstructed and lacking any punch horseradish typically gives - hot sauce was required. Finished with a lemon square served with a variety of berries. Other than the personal preference regarding the ceviche, no actual complaints and I'm looking forward to coming back.

Yelp
Went for a mini lunch and it the ambience was lovely. The mussels in curry were delicious. And though we enjoyed the fluke crudo - it felt like something was slightly missing in our opinion --Needed a touch of salt or spice to make it more flavorful. Service was a tad slow when we went, but the people were lovely and the music kept us in good spirits.

Yelp
Located in the Montauk Marina on Star Island is a Star of a restaurant. Yacht Club feel and amenities. Indoor and outdoor dining and drinking with fireplaces inside and out. Inside is elegant and tasteful, outdoor is water view and yacht view. Large bar that feels like half inside and half outside. A dozen raw clams to start followed by orders of Dayboat scallops and lobster tagliatelle all fresh and delicious. Service matched the surroundings 5 star. Reservations available online and acres of parking. You definitely need GPS to get here especially at night. Well worth the trip.

Yelp
Hitting lunchtime on our way to the lighthouse. Glad we found this place. Beautiful views, delicious food, friendly service. Could easily get used to this lifestyle.

Yelp
Saved the best for our last night in Montauk and Showfish did not disappoint. Loved the upscale yet fun vibe and scenic view from our outdoor table. Our server (sorry forgot her name) was sweet and professional all the way. Started with Jalapeno Watermelon Margarita and mescal-based "Bus to Montauk" cocktails; we preferred the latter as it was more complex and potent. We were one of only two couples at 6:30 but the place filled up quickly after that with a nice mix of families and festive groups. Chef J. Blutstein obviously knows his stuff when it comes to preparing seafood. The octopus and scallop dishes were flavorful, nicely charred on the outside yet tender on the inside; not always the case in my experience. The much-touted spicy lobster fried rice was not up our alley (you may differ on that), and when our server noticed she removed the dish and adjusted our bill accordingly. Very nice of her! Hubby's chocolate mousse dessert was kinda petite at $15 but delish. I opted for a single scoop of sorbet (at a third the price) as I was stuffed and happy as a clam by then. Some scenic venues may skimp on culinary quality but not Showfish, a beautiful spot with great food.

Yelp
Very nice restaurant, beautiful inside and out. They have a great variety of M.P. menu options. Try getting the aged tuna and tomahawk ribeyes for the table. They accommodated a larger party easily. Kip is the best server ever!!!!!!! Worth the price for Montauk.

Yelp
The kimchi lobster fried rice was "wow!" levels of horrific. Whoever decided to put that on the menu needs to apologise to the Republic of Korea for bastardising kimchi like that by putting it in the most flavourless (!!!) and confusing dish I've ever had at a restaurant. My friend and I couldn't tell while eating it if the rice was crunchy (à la dolsot bibimbap, another Korean dish) or just plain undercooked, but my final verdict was that it was a mixture of both! One of the grains hurt a tooth! The lobster was good and cooked very well, but overshadowed by bad kimchi and a lack of harmonious seasoning that left the dish tasting like gnarly tap water and vinegar. For my pitiful lunch earlier in the day, my fries were potatoless (read: hollow). My brisket sandwich (if I recall correctly) was yummy (hence the additional star) despite the brisket being as thin as thick cut bacon. The salad was good even when it was drowned by a tangy dressing. My friend's lobster roll was not yummy, so she had a sadder meal, unfortunately. We quickly realised that people drink in excess when staying at Gurney's because the food left too much to be desired. We also realised it by way of hearing people complain about the food. It was then that I understood why so many guests were picking up massive FreshDirect orders at the entryway to the resort. I initially thought they wanted to gather snacks for their hordes of children, but after eating at Showfish twice, it was clear that any other food would be more satisfying that what was on offer at the overhyped restaurant.

Yelp
I enjoyed a lovely dinner here with my colleague. The ambiance in the evening is genuinely refreshing, they open the doors, and you can feel a nice breeze right off the water. Our server Sara was attentive and friendly, and everything that came out was delicious; my favorite was the Day Boat Seared Scallops, followed by the 'Burrata Caprese' and the Molten Chocolate Cake. If you want to enjoy a relaxed evening in without leaving the area, this is the place to be.

Yelp
Came here last night and the food was actually not bad - I didn't have super high expectations given how sceney it was but we ordered a ton of stuff from the menu and everything was somewhere between decent and great. It's expensive but not unreasonably so. We ordered the oysters, octopus, tuna tartare, beet salad, Caesar salad, whole cauliflower, and chocolate cake for dessert. The oysters were phenomenal but expensive - $42 for a dozen. With that said, I would order them again. The only thing that wasn't good was the octopus. It was really hard and chewy. The cauliflower was huge and very flavorful. The espresso martinis were some of the best I've ever had. I also had a gin martini that they brought out with vodka at first and were nice about correcting. The service was a little slow at times but excusable given how busy they were. All in all, it was definitely an expensive dinner but Im glad I went overall. The place is beautiful, the music is good, the atmosphere is amazing...no complaints all around.

Yelp
We discovered Showfish over the weekend during a last minute trip to Montauk and we're so glad we had a chance to have dinner here last minute. It was a great opportunity to explore Gurney's other property and the food was very good. We arrived after dark but will definitely be back for another meal around sunset so we can also enjoy the lovely water views!

Jersey S.

Yelp
Best octopus so far. If you are in Montauk - you should check this place out. Make sure you are sitting outside to enjoy the view

Yelp
ALIVE moving ants in the drinks!!! drinks were ordered for kids and adults!!! crawling ants all over the bathroom!!! food is horrible!! establishment must be shut down!!!

Yelp
Zero stars if possible. You have to give at least 1 for a review, so one it is but they deserve 0. Extremely disappointed in this place. Was charged $24 for water when I never asked for still water. Asked the waiter at the end and he said I asked if you wanted sparkling, still or tap and you said as long as tap is filtered is fine. And I said well is the tap? He said you said whatever is fine. I didn't have time to argue bc we had a show to see so we left. I came back and spoke to manager and they were supposed to refund the $24 dollars. Never got it and have called 3 times and left voicemails with no call back. Service is not good. The food is decent at best, nothing great. Way overpriced and $24 for water I drank about one glass? Then no decency to even call me back. Pitiful

Lita F.

Yelp
Lovely experience! The Cacio de Pepe pizza was one of the best we've have ever had---and we are from New York. The tuna tartare was also delicious and the watermelon margarita was perfect! The service was great. Highly recommend it!

James G.

Yelp
Food was ok. Service was great. Ambiance was ok. Manager was great. Wine list sparse and kinda poopie. Sambuca was subpar. That was weird.

Elliott L.

Yelp
For such a beautiful décor, was quite disappointed in the execution of a Friday night dinner. Where did they go wrong? * Outdoor sign pointed in the wrong direction for the restaurant * Music was ridiculously loud * Between doors being opened and closed, either hit with freezing cold breezes or intense heat from the vents * The breads given out were 2 bakes rolls (nice) and 2 pretzel breads. The pretzel breads were stale. As we left we saw every table bit one and left the rest of them as they were inedible * Tuna tartare and wedge salads were quite good * Main entrée of halibut had to be sent back. It was way overcooked. Halibut is a lean fish so staff must be trained to cook it properly. * Crews were setting up tables and a buffet likely for an event the next day less than 12 feet from us. Very loud and distracting. Was it necessary to do it during dinner hours?

Yelp
In the Montauk yacht club in the heart of Gurneys resort!! - let's just say the hippest location with the coolest views, right in the heart of star island . A gem within the cool town of Montauk itself. The host and resevation system was super disorganized and I would dock a star for that But the service, ambience and food was so out of this world that I honestly just don't have the heart! Right on the lake with the blazing flames , the food and music felt heaven sent. The resort vibe is done in a classy laid back way with the kind of food that is worth a drive in itself. Pamela the server was an excellent resource of great advice As far as the food itself goes we ordered the scallop carpaccio with pickled onions Montauk special sea beams And the espedelle Would Sungold tomatoes The fruits de mar Had three shrimp three clam three oysters and some of the best grilled octopus with this horse radish cocktail sauce. The shrimp or notably fresh right on the waterfront. One of the coolest things about the menu was that the source of every meat and ingredient was stated in a legend in the menus bottom right corner As mentioned by various reviewer's before me, the lobster kimchi fried rice was a clear fusion favorite. However it was really this is sashimi grade bone in ribeye tuna that stole the show. Add $120 it was extremely reasonably priced for the size of the portion in the burst of hoflavor.

Yelp
Best meal in Montauk hands down. Beet salad was simple with great flavor. Lobster tagliatelle was wonderful. Whole lobster was wonderful. But the surprise ticket for me was the lobster kimchi fried rice- I could have ordered two plates of that and been as happy as a clam. Prices are high- 18 dollars for a cocktail is just funny but the food was deserving- the amount of lobster in each dish was well worth the price tag. Would have been 5 stars but service was poor. Took forever for drinks that cost too much and you shouldn't have to ask for bread twice to have it finally arrive after our salad (no judgment- who doesn't love well done bread?) But overall a well enjoyed meal.

Debbie M.

Yelp
We had a lovely dinner there. It wasn't crowded and the food was delicious. I had the poached lobster and it was great.

Gregory H.

Yelp
Love the ambiance and the setting. Food was pretty good as well. It's a shame that I have to knock off 2 stars for service. Our waitress was friendly and nice enough but we had an issue with the size of our seating arrangement. We arrived with a party of seven with an 8:15pm reservation and still had to wait close to an hour. Which honestly wasn't a huge deal because we were able to sit comfortably while we waited. When we finally got seated the waitress explained that the loveseat couches are meant to seat 3 people, which is laughable based off of a description like "loveseat". But I digress. I promise you, not rocket scientist in sight! Hahah But back to issue of how situation was handled. We stuck it out and ate our $50 appetizers with elbows in each other's faces. Shrimp cocktail and east oysters were great by the way. When the couple seated next to us vacated their table, I asked the waitress if we could move the tables together so that we would be comfortable for the main course. She disappeared for a moment and came back to explain that there was nothing she could do and that they needed ALL of the tables tonight for other guest. Would you believe it if I told you these people let us sit cramped up at a table too small for our group with a perfectly good table that remained empty for the rest of the evening right next to us? Of course a thousand dollar bill with a 20% tip included. Honestly it's unacceptable given how the service industry has been challenged over the past few years. Shame.

Yelp
We decided to have dinner at Showfish in the Gurneys Star Island Resort and it did not disappoint. Restaurant is very quiet and relaxing, crowds start to come around 7-730PM. The scenery is amazing and loved walking around the marina and looking at the boats. Overall great experience and service. Maria our sever was great! She was attentive, knew the menu well and had great recommendations. Bus to Montauk: 9/10 AMAZING drink. Casamigos tequila, Casamigos mezcal, aperitivo, pineapple and lemon (ask for it spicy!) Truffle Fries: 9.5/10 Best fries I've had yet.... Anywhere! Crispy and soft, lots of Parmesan, truffle, and herbs! Serving was big too! Lobster & Kimchi Fried Rice: 5.5/10 Came here specifically to try this side dish and was okay. Kimchi flavor was very powerful and seemed like it would have paired better with shrimp than with lobster. Lobster Tagliatelle: 7/10 Lots of lobster with the pasta. Serving was bigger than expected. Pasta made in house too is a plus. Great flavor. Seared Scallops: 7.5/10 Was a great entree. Very light and airy. Paired well with the vegetables. Plate comes with four large scallops topped with flaked sea salt. Dessert menu is verbal only.

Yelp
Nice place but waited nearly an hour passed my reservation time. Never again as there was nothing special about the dining experience that warrants such abuse

Ei M.

Yelp
Sat outside for dinner. Service was average. Nothing memorable about it. Views of the marina were nice but it was very buggy and the lighting was so bad we could not see our food. The steak was good and came with fries but would be nice if it included a vegetable too. The squid ink pasta was too salty to even eat and had no crab meat in it. Tuna tartare was average. Leaves a lot to be desired.

Yelp
Stayed at Gurneys Star Resort for a few days for a conference. The view was wonderful.. Decided to have dinner at Showfish there on the premises. The menu was limited as they had just opened for the season. My friend ordered the 2lb. lobster @ $70 & I ordered the scallops -recommended by the server. The scallops were overcooked hockey puck came to mind. The lobster was dry. Very disappointing ... Should have ordered a pizza!

Adriana B.

Yelp
Amazing place. The food is exotic and delicious, has a great view, music and good service.

Grayson C.

Yelp
Love the bartenders Rob and Alex! Ask for them at the bar, so nice and great cocktails!! Will be going back!

Elisa L.

Yelp
I came here with my friends. Such a nice atmosphere and view. Such a friendly and professional people working here! Great cuisine ! Angry lobster, Dry aged bone in "tune ribeye" Our server Wally he is super great!! Thank you everybody

Kat F.

Yelp
This place was amazing from the professional hostess to the gentleman filling our water glasses. Our waitress was knowledgeable and friendly as well as attentive. The food was delicious. You could tell you were at a Gurneys property with the attention to detail. Definitely has changed from when it was Montauk Yacht Club for the better. We loved it. Definitely will return.

Rum D.

Yelp
Amazing food, ambience, and service. So satisfied with this meal. Everything we ate was really good with a few standout items. The atmosphere right along the water was so beautiful even on a slightly cloudy day (especially at sunset). - Dry Aged Bone in NY Strip, standout - Angry Lobster, standout - Lobster Tagliatelle, amazing (the favorite of some in our party) - Charred Octopus, very nice (could have been crispier) - Scallops, very nice - Crème Brûlée, excellent Will return when we are in the area!

Chris V.

Yelp
Great view and atmosphere however the menu is not great. Oysters do not come with vinegar or cocktail sauce. Menu is more snack food than high end. Place is clean, staff is friendly. Nothing special.

Cyrus P.

Yelp
Truly a five star ambiance that will leave you enamored with Montauk. Service was great, but the food and the views steel the snow. Every dish was deliciously done and flawless to the taste. Fire pits for smokers, yachts and beautiful crowds of people. A complete five star experience. Beautifully done.

Sierra B.

Yelp
Definitely an upscale family or more mature vibe. Seafood tower was a huge portion and very fresh but everything else was a bit lackluster. Foil gras was a little tough and VERY gamey as they added a Smokeyness to it that accentuated it. It was also a bit microscopic so it must have been a very tiny duck LOL. Maiden voyage cocktail was so delish, recommend swapping the vodka for Hendricks and you have the perfect drink.

Cam G.

Yelp
My filet mignon came out well done. It made me kinda sad. Also, the "twice baked potatoes" are just roasted fingerling potatoes. That also made me kind of sad. BUT my warm beet and goat cheese salad was yummmmm.

Jennifer K.

Yelp
Food was exceptional. We ordered the grilled octopus, kimchi lobster fried rice and chicken.. it did not disappoint.

Joseph C.

Yelp
Went for lunch, after waiting a long time for out food, they brought out our appetizers and soups, and didn't understand why that was a problem, very pricey for small portions, the food it self was very good but the wait staff needs a lesson in timely customer service and maybe some common sense, and when we split the bill on 2 credit cards They charged us both the full amount so now I have to dispute this charge ... great atmosphere and good food but not a good experience

Virginia R.

Yelp
Food was good and convenient especially since we were staying at gurney's. Nice waterview and calm atmosphere.

Randy W.

Yelp
Concise and tasty menu. The roasted carrots were very satisfying and organic roasted chicken was excellent, so tender with pieces of guanciale on the side. The view of the lake was great too.

Brooke J.

Yelp
There are many good restaurants in Montauk, but this is hands down one of my favorite. The food is devine, unique, and fresh (especially seafood). The angry lobster is like nothing I've ever had before. The views are gorgeous and the location is great. My husband and I get about 3 date nights a year with a toddler and another baby on the way but we will be back here next summer!

Kathy G.

Yelp
We had the most wonderful dining experience here last night! Considering it was a Holiday Weekend and Social Distancing rules were in effect the vibe was relaxing and calm and I credit the amazing staff and management for this! Completely attentive extremely professional from start to finish! The Angry Lobster Appetizer was a delicious combo of spice heat ginger yummmmmm and spectacular thick toast to soak it all up with. Halibut entree exceptional!! Bravo! Showfish is a Show Stopper!!!

Cheryl P.

Yelp
We did not enjoy our visit. Weird layout, stale bread and lackluster food. Will not return.

Joanne C.

Yelp
Beautiful setting. Kimchi fried rice with lobster is a must have side. I enjoyed my scallops and they were perfectly prepared. .

Paul B.

Yelp
Love the unique vibe here on a Summer eve nestled along side the many yachts. A DJ, international clientele and servers round out the transporting experience coupled with delicious seafood caught that same day. Not your typical MTK seafood place. Feels like you're in Greece or Italy... My sweetheart and I always stop here when in MTK and have fun dressing for the occasion..

Kate M.

Yelp
Fun spot, gorgeous on the water. Fashionable - on the louder side. Food was great. We ate at the bar as we walked in with no reservation, be prepared to wait if you go this option and you might not be lucky. This has gotten very popular.

Jennifer L.

Yelp
Beautiful restaurant on the water on a secluded part of Montauk. The food was impeccable! The spicy grilled octopus with lamb bacon is a must have along with the seared scallops. Halibut was perfectly cooked with a beautiful crispy sear. The lobster kimchi fried rice was probably the least impressive and could've probably done without. For dessert, both the banana nut toffee and chocolate pudding were the perfect ending to our meal. Overall, I was very impressed by the restaurant and food. Would definitely return and recommend!

Travis S.

Yelp
We came here for our first time and we were blown away! We sat with Yamilette and she was fantastic. She made sure our order was perfect and that our needs were met. Her personality was incredible. Stephanie made sure our plates were cleared and our water was filled. She made us laugh as well. The food was outstanding and you can see it just by the pics. Luigi, who is the manager stopped by and made sure everything was perfect. He actually cared and had a conversation with us. The atmosphere is modern but chill. Stop in if you need a great meal with a great view!!!

Jonathan C.

Yelp
Cheapest high quality dining in Montauk! The cauliflower is a must and if you like lobster...this is you place!

Yelp
First, let me start by saying I loved the location of this restaurant. Gurney's really did a lot with the yacht club. It was nice to walk around, check out the boats, sit by the fires. As for the meal. We started with the tuna crudo, octopus carpaccio, and the clams casino. I wasn't crazy about any of these. The tuna was just weird. It had these toasted breadcrumbs on top of the raw tuna. It gave it a weird texture and taste. The clams casino were tiny and really just nothing special. The octopus was just meh. The presentation was great but the flavor wasn't really there. I would have like more of a traditional grilled octopus rather than what we were served. For the meal, I had the scallops and my friend had the ribs. The scallops had a great sear but were too salty. The corn that it was on was nice. It was supposed to have a duck prosciutto with it. If it did, it was chopped fine and I couldn't find it. My companion didn't finish the ribs, they were nothing special. We got a side of the twice baked potato. This was good but it wasn't a true twice baked potato. It was really small blueish potatoes that seemed baked only. For dessert I had the hot chocolate which was a chocolate pudding with a passion fruit filling and the marshmallow topping. This was tasty. My companion had the peaches and cream which was honestly nothing special. I wasn't crazy about the dessert menu either, nothing great was on it. They didn't have ice cream which I thought was weird as there is a VanLeween on the ground floor. The service was nice but slow, and the restaurant had a ton of tablets. Overall, I might give it one more change but I was very disappointed in this experience. Especially for the money.

Peter L.

Yelp
Never disappointed when going here!! Staff is amazing, food is always fresh and I love that they have DJ there playing on weekends!!

Kevin P.

Yelp
My girlfriend and I had a great experience here. The food was delicious, especially the scallop carpaccio and the tagliatelle, and our server Sophia was excellent. We can highly recommend this place!

Nicolle N.

Yelp
Good food, a little understaffed so be patient. Everyone very nice. The views from outside were great and the food was very tasty
