Visited Shōyu Ramen with my wife on January 11, 2026, to finally try their well-known Ramen in Riga.
A small note from the start: it would be helpful if the staff mentioned right away that the menu is available via Q-code, as the waiter came to take our order just a few minutes after we sat down.
We ordered Imperatora Ebi Tempura as a starter, Premium Shōyu Ramen, Shrimp Shio Ramen, and Mochi Mango–Passion Fruit for dessert. The service was fast, and the dishes arrived quickly, which was a nice surprise.
The tempura shrimp were an excellent start, perfectly light and crispy batter, with very tender shrimp inside. Truly hard to put into words how good they were.
The ramen with duck was outstanding. The duck meat was incredibly tender and almost melted in the mouth. The broth was perfectly balanced with soy sauce, all ingredients tasted fresh, and the noodles were flavorful and well made. A clear favorite of the evening.
The shrimp ramen was just as enjoyable. The broth didn’t overpower the shrimp, which is a big plus, allowing their natural flavor to shine. The shrimp were large and meaty, the marinated eggs were delicious, and the house-made noodles were soft, rich in texture and very satisfying. Anyone who enjoys shrimp ramen should definitely try this one.
We finished with mango–passion fruit mochi. A very pleasant dessert, where the sweetness of mango is nicely balanced by the light acidity of passion fruit. A great way to end the dinner.
The restaurant itself is small, cozy, and atmospheric, creating a very intimate dining experience. Our taste buds were definitely happy by the end of the evening.
One small recommendation: considering the winter weather, it would be good to manage the water at the entrance better, as a puddle forms right by the door and slightly affects the first impression.
Overall, a very enjoyable visit and a place we would gladly return to.
