Came here as a fun little stop on a road trip. Nice way of getting out of the heat. Adult ticket was 21 and a military ticket was 17. Was nice to wander around and staff were really nice particularly a gentleman in the out door area who was eager to tell us more. They have two penny presses (which i collect) but instead of it being 51 cents they were 76 ☹️ other than the prices of things was a solid experience.

Google
Kinda pricey for how small it is, but nonetheless it's definitely worth checking out with the kids! Got to pet sting rays, sea anemones and live star fish! That was a super cool experience. Staff were so sweet and knowledgeable!

Anthony Buchanan

Google
It was a really cool experience. The workers there were amazing friendly and helpful. We enjoyed every aspect of this place. They have so many fun things for children of all ages to do.

M. Isabelle T.

Google
Awesome experience especially when it comes to feeding the stingrays and touching live starfish for the first time. The place is clean, and the workers are friendly and helpful. We are planning on going back.

Tammy Gates (AvaKINluv)

Google
This was a great experience for my husband I. Another information about aquatic creatures. We even got to touch different things. We also got to touch the sting rays! That was a highlight. I never have done that!!

Zachary Stanley

Google
Excellent aquarium. All animals looked happy and healthy. They had a place you could buy food to feed the rays. About $5 a cup with 2 or three pieces. Excellent and educational staff. EV charging by the front door. Free parking garage across the street.

Miranda Howard

Google
I liked how immersive and hands on this place is and they have a large array of all different types of marine life. The only problem is we were in there for an hour and saw everything so the price was not worth just an hour.

Joshua Huffman

Google
A little pricey. But overall it's a very fun, interactive aquarium. Great for kids and adults.

Yelp
We love the Christmas belive event. They had so many beautiful decorations this year. We go every year and gave a blast. More things to see this year and things are being well taken care of. The folks at the touch exhibits are nice and knowledgeable and very helpful!

Yelp
This was one of our many stops on our Louisiana spring break trip. The aquarium was small compared to what we see in California but the employees were so friendly and knowledgeable about the animals. They had a really cool touch aquarium for starfish and other animals that my daughter loved. A nice place to take the kids and not to expensive

Yelp
Great fun for the family; we purchased the family (4 person) membership. My only gripe is the gift shop prices... but, ya know, gift shops... membership does get you a 10% discount but still expensive... I guess they have to keep all those fish alive though ‍ Parking isn't always easy; you can park at the garage for free across the street but you can only park up top and have to drive around the block to get up there if the lot attached to the building is full (both lots are very small). Overall, kids love it, lots to do and see, and we shall continue to visit regularly.

Alyssa L.

Yelp
We brought our kids on a Saturday & we had a great time! So many interactive stations for kids of all ages! We all really enjoyed petting & feeding the stingrays!

Yelp
We've had a membership at the aquarium since our daughter was 6 months old. It's a small aquarium. The entire experience takes around an hour. But the people there care. They're excited to share their knowledge and love of the animals. They remember us and her. They take the time to talk to her and show her things just like they would anyone else, even though she is very small and doesn't understand what they're saying. I'll say this though - since we've been going she's getting more and more excited to go look at the fish and see her friend Mrs. Sabrina. Thank you Shreveport Aquarium for taking the time to include my daughter and help her develop her love for sea life and the waterways of this world! Best money we've spent.

Jerimiah R.

Yelp
Great Aquarium. Nice fishes and is very calm I really like the atmosphere. It's very clean and has so many things to do besides looking at fish.
google avatar

Mande B.

Yelp
Fun times at this aquarium today. They have several "bubbles" that little ones can crawl in to "be" in the tank with the fish. We opted to purchase the food to feed the rays. That was an awesome experience. Couldn't resist to take a pic of the sign on the bathroom stall door. Love how the education is placed all over the place.

Yelp
The potential of this little Aquarium is high. It is a cute little aquarium and they could really step it up and maximize it's potential regardless of it being so small. They just need to better use the existing space a little more but I enjoyed my time visiting there.

Barbara B.

Yelp
Small but mighty! Great little aquarium in downtown Shreveport. Spent a few hours with my grandson enjoying the sharks, and the touch tanks. We will be back again and again!

Yelp
Lost of fun for the whole family. The staff working there was super friendly and educational for the kids.

Yelp
Small but nice aquarium. Lots of hands on exhibits and local aquatic animals. Staff was friendly and helpful. I definitely recommend
google avatar

Yelp
Small but very nice. You can feed the stingrays and touch the jellyfish. Employees were very kind and enjoyed teaching about the animals.

Yelp
Great stop. We were surprised at this aquarium. It's just big enough with a great selection of fish and species. For visual and tactile people this is a perfect match. The staff is nice and very friendly. They are very knowledge about each species. The variety at every turn was fin. There are also great photo ops and the gift shop was not over priced. Their restrooms were clean!!!! Great job!

Yelp
This is a smaller aquarium that you could probably tour in about an hour, so take your time! It is still a great visit regardless of the size. They sell tickets by the time you want to visit, which seems to prevent the exhibits from becoming overcrowded. They have touch exhibits like the rays, anemones, starfish, and shrimp I came here randomly, with my kids, when my original plans got washed out. I found the staff helpful, upbeat, and kind. It was a nice excursion and we even got to feed the rays for a few bucks! Definitely worth your time!
google avatar

Yelp
Such a great experience!! We went to our child's field trip before the aquarium opened. The tour guide, Nicole, was wonderful and was amazing with the kids! Perfect timing at every exhibit and great information! Very clean and the staff were super nice and helpful. Went to the gift shop and Eli was super nice and helped us pick out the perfect souvenirs! Thank y'all so much! We will definitely be back!!

Yelp
A small aquarium with many activities for the little ones. They have a lot of bubbles for the kids to look up at the sharks and fish. Feeding the sting rays is cool, however the kids with me were weirded out that they were feeding fish to them. They have a small eatery inside, it had that nostalgic arcade pizza with some gummy sharks for the kids drinks. Totally recommend checking it out for the hands on activities such as petting the sting rays, jelly fish, and starfish

Yelp
My family and I came here from Minnesota to visit some family and thought we'd check out this aquarium. After visiting this place, I'm not so sure you can call it that. There were very few sea creatures and the space seemed quite small. It took us about an hour to walk through the entire space. That was with 3 small children. It was sort of fun to get to touch the jellyfish though. Overall a pretty bland aquarium. Not impressed

Yelp
I took my kids yesterday and they are already begging me to take them back . very family friendly environment

Yelp
This is not your huge, overpriced average aquarium, but it is just as good. (I'd say better and budget friendly). This is a great tactical experience for kiddos with just the right amount of exhibits to keep their attention. There are multiple points for hands on experiences. The staff was warm, engaging and kind. I was surprised at how busy this place wasn't during the week! (We drove from a nearby state, our school breaks may be different from their local schools). Don't pass this up on your next trip to Shreveport!
google avatar

Yelp
Cute little aquarium! It was organized, clean, & the staff were friendly! Reasonably priced at $9 per kid! We spent about 2 1/2 hours watching the fish, petting, & feeding the different animals. It did cost extra to feed them. The parking was convenient & did not cost extra.

Yelp
So, it's not the National Aquarium in Baltimore but, this is on par for local attractions. The building was renovated with a difficult layout and an oddly hot/cold arboretum that is used for the only freshwater exhibits. The entrance fees were reasonable with individual and family season passes available. As a construction manager, I noticed a few areas where Weiland lacked in quality control but, I digress. The exhibits were very dark and underwhelming. The exhibits are quietly wound around the building on a path that puts each exhibit back-to-back. There were a number of fish with disease and a few dead in the aquariums. The staff were friendly but, while well informed, they were not well trained to properly speak to the public when educating. The approach to answering questions and speaking to the patrons should be a positive spin by telling me my theory may be the perspective I understand but this is what we educate, not telling me I'm totally wrong and here's why. Like every cliche museum, they end the tour outside of the incredibly small gift shop and overpriced Salt Restaurant. There were so many items missing in the gift shop, a lot of lost opportunities for revenue. As for Salt, I'd refer you to read other's reviews here on Yelp.

Yelp
I was not expecting much. An aquarium in a small-medium sized city in the north part of Louisiana? I wouldn't expect them to have one at all. But I was impressed. I paid for a ticket for myself at lunch online for when I got off from work (I am visiting from out of town). I spent about an hour inside. All of the employees were so friendly. I was told what I could and could not touch. Very interactive. There is a part where you can go mining for treasure. The kids who were at that station when I went by were having a world of fun. The restaurant was not open when I went, but the gift shop was. This was just wonderful. I am glad I came and I suggest everyone come.

Yelp
Such a fun interactive aquarium!!! My husband and I had so much fun! I was head over heels in love with the Rays!! We will definitely be going again!! We even touched jelly fish!! We loved it! 100% recommend this aquarium!

Yelp
When I visit a city, if it has an aquarium, I have to go! They are tranquil and just a place that holds a wealth of information for all generations. Ocean conservation is important and learning how humans impact it is crucial. This aquarium is small, it's kind of like a hub or gateway to the larger aquariums in larger cities. This aquarium gets a lot of youth species like young sharks and once they get too large for the tank, a larger aquarium takes them. To me, this is awesome. It's wonderful to know that all these aquariums work together and "loan" or trade animals to better their lives. We got there in time to see the sharks being fed, which was a neat experience. They have several touch tanks. They have one for starfish, sea urchins and anemones, and one for bat star. They also have a touch tank for the stingrays and the jellyfish!! Such neat experiences. I would love to see them add an alligator or two!

Yelp
Had a blast with my friends, we did the red river treasure hunt and got a lot cool gems, shark teeth, and rocks; I know I would have loved this type of thing when I was a kid so I'm happy that kids in Shreveport have more than the sciport to look forward too for field trips (although I do love sciport). Shreveport needs more fun like this! Nice job guys!
google avatar

Yelp
I visited the aquarium with two of my adult children (better late than never right?). It was interesting and a neat place to visit. Who said adults cannot have a good time anyway?!?

Yelp
Finally open on 11/01/2017! Parking: available on location AND parking garage across (on E. Milam St) We parked at the parking garage. Didn't think it is accessible to those with wheelchairs or strollers. There was only stairs to exit, or the ramp for cars to go in and out of the garage. No systematic way of ticketing. They had about 3 people in the lobby smiling, yet only 1 person is taking care of ticketing and admissions. Free admissions for children less than 2 y/o, $8 for children up to 13 y/o, $12 for adults. Place had a diversity of fish and touch zones. I am quite amazed they had sting free jellyfish!! Staff were very friendly despite the crowd. Honestly it is underwhelming but still a great addition in our area!
google avatar

Dominik D.

Yelp
While not very big, it's is a pleasant way to pass an hour or two on the weekend, even if you aren't accompanied by a child. They have a petting exhibit for sea stars, snails, and sting rays, oh yeah, and jellyfish.
google avatar

Julia G.

Yelp
I've been several times we always have a really good time as a family a great place to take pictures I love the touch tanks and the staff is very knowledgeable and kind
google avatar

Rose K.

Yelp
Love this place! We took the two grandkids there yesterday (we're visiting Shreveport for the week), and they loved it! They are 2 & 4, and it was perfect for them! Lots of hands on exhibits, and the staff is great! Very interested in teaching, which is awesome! We did everything twice, at least, because they loved it so much. They especially loved petting the stingrays and starfish! (No pictures of that, because it was too much fun and too wet!) In fact, my 4 year-old grandson is asking to go back again today, and we actually are!
google avatar

Michelle S.

Yelp
Fair warning- it's hot in there! Like the A/C unit can't keep up. But besides that it was a great little Aquarium. Love the ship wreck decor and the staff is so knowledgeable and friendly. Great for kids. Lots of touch stations!
google avatar

Tyrus B.

Yelp
I had so much fun! The staff was very kind and very willing to tell about the different types of animals and how they treat them. They had a lot of hands on stuff like touching stingrays and starfish. It was pretty crazy. They literally would come right up to you.
google avatar

Jennifer S.

Yelp
What a neat place! The layout is pretty strange. Your walk through the first exhibit leads to a very steamy terrarium. Make sure to walk down the sidewalk to see the giant turtles. You then go into the second hall which is filled with awesome exhibits, including ones that you get to touch! My absolute favorite was petting on the sweet rays! Afterward, they have fun little exhibits that you can crawl under to see the marine life from an inside POV. The gift shop is small, but quite reasonable! My son was able to get two small stuffed animals and my husband some local honey, while still making out under $25. We highly recommend it.
google avatar

RaeAnn M.

Yelp
What a cute little aquarium! So many unique experiences ! Great for the whole family! Staff was so friendly and informative!
google avatar

Yelp
This place is great for young children. They do not need to up the price or it wouldn't be considered a good deal. It's very small and great for minds with minimal attention spans. we toured it in less than an hour with two three year olds and a two year old. Hope they can expand it more in the future. It's a great addition to Shreveport just wish it was bigger.
google avatar

Courtney E.

Yelp
The aquarium is small, but it is totally worth it. Good variety of fish and the touch pools are really cool. It doesn't take very long to get through it, but spend some time looking and grab a bite to eat in the cafe.
google avatar

Jennifer G.

Yelp
Hands on exhibits are excellent for children. We had a great time exploring and touching the starfish, sting rays, and jellyfish. My 4 year old granddaughter enjoyed herself very much.
google avatar

Arnold S.

Yelp
This place is literally tiny. It's only 17 bucks to get in for one adult but I mean that is still too much for what it is. Very small not very many exhibits not a huge number of fish and all of them are in tiny tanks very disappointing. If you go expecting that much then it would be OK because that's what it is it is not much. Don't go expecting anything extravagant.
google avatar

Megan W.

Yelp
We loved the aquarium. We spent lots of time at the tide pools and stingray exhibit. We also got to see quite a few fish being fed. We also got to talk to an employee and she told us about feeding methods and different fish. She was very knowledgeable and friendly. We will be coming back!

Rhonda M.

Yelp
I'm very impressed. It's not as big as I hoped, but it's still fun. There is a decent number of people here, especially for a Sunday. Staff is very nice and there are a lot of different animals available to touch.

T G.

Yelp
Doing there beat during covid is a joke. They are cramming as many as they can inside with absolutely no covid policies being followed. Very small and definitely not worth the cost.
google avatar

Amy Z.

Yelp
Beautiful little aquarium that's only been open for about a month. It's on a much smaller scale (having been to aquariums in Chicago and New Orleans), but definitely worth it. The marine life seems to be more curated, but all very pretty. There were multiple touch zones that made this aquarium stand out: starfish, anemone, sea urchin, stingrays, cleaner shrimp! Lots of fun for the curious and inquisitive!!
google avatar

Liz S.

Yelp
Very cute but VERY small without a lot of impressive features/exhibits/animals. You can walk through this whole place in under 30 minutes. Of course the kids like it, but I felt kind of ripped off. Again, it's cute and well put together, just small.
google avatar

Ty R.

Yelp
Cute place. Small aquarium, but it's nice to have something like this in Shreveport. It is definitely for the kids. My husband and I went, and we were disappointed by the types of fish they had. It was things that you would find in a local lake here. I've seen more exotic fish at Bass Pro. It is a good place to take your kids, but not so much fun as an adult.
google avatar

Cherry P.

Yelp
Nice little aquarium. Perfect for my granddaughter. She had a blast. Hands on area that let her get up close and personal with different sea creatures. We enjoyed it too.

Callie W.

Yelp
I love aquariums and this was a great one. It's on the smaller side but the staff were knowledgeable and friendly, the exhibits were good, and the touch tanks were some of the best I've ever seen! You can touch sting rays, crabs, jelly fish and other creatures! We spent about an hour here but could have spent a little longer. Admission was $13 a person and it was definitely worth the price.

Daniel M.

Yelp
Small, but great. The staff was very friendly and very knowledgeable. Great place to bring the kiddos!
google avatar

George J.

Yelp
My 2 year old had a blast here. I appreciate that you don't get price gouged on everything like at the NOLA aquarium.

Zach A.

Yelp
Having visited the best aquarium in the nation (Atlanta - judged by most travel sites), I can honestly say that the quality of this aquarium is on-point! The exhibits are colorful and clean, the staff is abundant and friendly, and the hands-on experiences for the kids are memorable. My biggest complaint, and the reason for the 4-star review: the limited ticket sales are ridiculous. The only way to ensure I don't leave with a crying 4-year-old because she didn't get to "pet the jellyfish" is to reserve my tickets (at full price - even though they advertise several discounts) online days ahead of time. Why advertise discounted tickets if you are going to turn people away for trying to use them? That's like saying your place is handicap accessible, but then turning away customers with wheelchairs because one too many of them are in the building. If your facility isn't big enough to support your boasts, don't make the boast.
