The 15 Best Jazz Clubs In NYC

"A few of Harlem’s storied jazz spots are still around, but there are also some exciting spaces in the neighborhood where new artists are keeping the genre interesting. At the Shrine, you can listen to jazz and funk in a vibey purple room almost every night. This is a low-key spot where you’ll discover stray records in the crevices and mingle with a fun crowd. Happy Hour happens every weekday, and they’ve got a food menu full of hearty things like steak, mussels, and shepherd’s pie. The 15 Best NYC Bars Where You Can Dance - New York - The Infatuation

"A few of Harlem’s storied jazz spots are still around, but there are also some exciting spaces in the neighborhood where new artists are keeping the genre interesting. At the Shrine, you can listen to jazz and funk in a vibey purple room almost every night, and most of it is more danceable than the stuff at your dad’s favorite jazz club. This is a low-key spot where you’ll discover stray records in the crevices and mingle with a fun, younger crowd. " - Team Infatuation

Literally such an amazing spot! I had the best time ever. The artists lineup was so good and the atmosphere felt like a movie. The people that go there are super friendly and lovely aswell. Great vibes all around. I didn’t try the food so I’m not sure about that but the atmosphere in general was 10/10. And it’s free entry before 12am!!

A great little music venue. The food isn’t bad, freshly made. The drinks are also not too bad - mostly bottled beer, the margaritas are extremely sweet. The music is quite good, they have lots of great musicians and it’s a great place to come hang out

This place has some fantastic Jazz music and a great all around vibe. The decor is funky and eclectic. The bartender took my order right away and poured me a beer. They have a decent selection of beers. My macaroni and cheese took a little longer, but was definitely worth the wait. Perhaps the best mac & cheese I've had in NYC. The music was amazing and some of the musicians chatted with me when ordering their beverages.

Dope place, Great drinks and even good non-alcoholic opitions, but it feels like a williamburg bar over a harlem spot. The colonizers have taken over 🤦🏾‍♂️

Really nice spot. We had a great time with Brewster Moonface playing.

Shrine in Harlem is a whole experience. If you’re looking for a spot with energy, culture, and nonstop music—this is it. The cocktails are strong, the DJs know how to keep the party going, and the live music adds that extra flavor you didn’t know you needed. Fair warning: it can be a hit or miss depending on when you go, but the key is to show up later in the night—trust me, that’s when it really turns up. They stay open until 4am, and there’s a $10 cover, but it’s worth it if you’re trying to catch a good vibe and let loose. Whether it’s Afrobeats, live bands, or just good energy all around, Shrine delivers.
