Shu Hot Pot & Korean BBQ KTV

First time here and it was worth EVERY BITE AND PENNY! Customer service was outstanding, the male server is GREAT at what he does. The crew was very welcoming. He presented the menu and the expectations of the restaurant. He continously checked in on us, when kitchen bought out the food he made sure someone came to explain what was what. He made it very memorable and enjoyable. I'd definitely come back. And the food was delicious, tried some new things.

Okay, first off, this place looks amazing!! The decorations are on point. It’s giving “Instagram date night” vibes. The kind of spot that makes you think, “Wow, this is gonna be good.” Spoiler alert: it wasn’t.. I should’ve read the reviews before letting the decor catfish me. :( I’m not new to Korean BBQ, it’s basically my love language, but this one? MID with capital letters. First red flag: they slapped wax paper on the grill. Not replacement of the grill… WAX PAPER. Like I came here to grill, not steam my meat. My poor brisket came out sad, soggy, and questioning its life choices.. The meat was sliced so thin I thought it was on a diet. And this is AYCE! Like, why are we being stingy when it’s literally all you can eat? The ribeye wasn’t even marinated... just plain, lonely beef sitting there like, “Where’s the flavor?” Then I tried to give the hot pot a chance. Ordered Tom Yum… got “Tom Yuck.” It didn’t even try to taste like Tom Yum. At that point, my taste buds just clocked out. The only saving grace? Our server. She was a sweetheart! Checked on us every 20 minutes, kept the drinks coming, and honestly deserved better than the food she had to serve. Moral of the story: the place looks like a 10, but the food’s a 2. I’ll stick to 912 in Pooler next time. There’s a first for everything… and this will definitely be the last for me here.

My husband took me here for a date for the first time and I fell in love with this place. Our server, Bella, was exceptional, kind and informative! The mgr/owner Troy went above and beyond to show my husband and I how to properly cook our food on the grill and in the soup. He even made us his secret sauce which we now call the Troy sauce lol! I’ve never had anyone take the time to actually explain the culture and how the food should be prepared. Everything was so delicious and we’ll definitely be back.

This place is awesome!!! Attentive staff, generous portions, and SUCH a beautiful restaurant!! Bella was our server and she was so kind!! Our food came out quickly and they have a huge selection of sauces and appetizers on their buffet! We had an amazing time and will return when we are in Savannah again!!!

You can tell they take pride in what they do. If you’re looking for amazing food and a memorable dining experience, this place is a must-visit. We will definitely be coming back!

We have a really good experience. The food was awesome and the service was really good. Shine was our waiter. Will definitely be back. Definitely check it out for a date night holiday or family gathering. Best meal since being in Savannah for sure!

I've been here twice now, and I will be coming back more. Its a nice spot with quality food and a good atmosphere thanks to all of the decorations and signage. There are smaller tables and large group tables for groups of all sizes. If you dont feel like eating with friends, then feel free to eat as much as you want by yourself; thats what I do.

Had a wonderful birthday celebration at Shu! Our waiter, Shine, was very friendly, very helpful, and brought a lively energy. If you're new to hot pot, definitely come hungry, the food is plentiful and amazing all atound- I can particularly recommend the fried taro, and daikon for hot pot! Hot oil is good for adding some spice to non-spicy broths- the spicy ones are plenty spicy, spice fans definitely stop in! The atmosphere is beautiful, and fun- I highly recommend this place! Perfect for a celebration!

Fun dining experience with Shine! He was welcoming and energetic, which always makes my food taste better for some Reason. The food was good. Each Hot Pot experience I have had has its own personality. I would call this Hip Hot Pot! The decor and music was urban and laid back. I'll be back.

I checked out Sho Shu with my family recently and as usual the hot pot food did not disappoint. The hot pot items were very fresh and delicious. The hot bar items were somewhat warm and I did notice some fruit flies around the sauces, which I am sure can be a struggle to keep contained in the environment. Overall the experience was good, but they do need to figure out the fly issue. It was also nice to see the owner walking around greeting customers and checking in.

Food and service were excellent! This is by far my favorite Korean BBQ in the area! The ban Chan ( sides) were delicious and there were so many sauces to choose from. The place is clean and staff is efficient!

So I went again, instead of being in the open at a 4 seated table I was placed in a cozy 2 person booth away from everyone and I enjoyed that even more! I was able to enjoy the taste of both the soup and the barbecue. I will definitely be going back. I tried the mushroom base and it didn't disappoint. Something new and exciting,This is a stop you must do!

We really enjoyed Shu, Great service and the ambiance was nice.They played a throwback station that our party really enjoyed. We were able to order 5 selections at a time. Once your order is in the food comes out fairly quickly which was pretty impressive. FYI- if one person at your table wants to add hot pot to their dinner then the whole table has to as well. I really enjoyed the kimchi and galbi ribs the most. Jennifer the hostess was really kind and we will be back .

We have been wanting to try this new restaurant and we were finally able to! We were greeted and seated quickly! Our waitress explained how their process worked. She said we could either do hot pot or bbq or both! We decided to just do the bbq and we are both able to pick five meats each. We felt like that was a lot so we went with spicy salmon, garlic shrimp, short rib and beef bulgogi. She also said that we could have the complimentary items they provide for all customers buffet style. We decided to get the kimchi and the cucumber salad! All the items we chose were delicious! Our waitress was kind but she was not as an attentive as we needed. At one point it was hard to locate her. The decor inside is awesome! The pricing is reasonable as well! We are definitely coming back!

I was very fortunate to try this place as part of the Savannah Chambers Commerce ribbon-cutting event. First of all, can we talk about the HUGE panda out front? You know that got my attention! The inside is absolutely beautiful, and there is plenty of seating for large or smaller parties. The staff was friendly, helping us understand how to order and what soups would go best with the meats. I had strawberry fruit tea. I loved it so much that I ordered two! I had the SICHUAN SPICY for my soup broth with the Prime Brisket, onions, lettuce, and bell peppers. The soup had a kick to it but was so flavorful and delicious! We had a large party, so we all got to try multiple meats and veggies, which is the best way to experience this restaurant. We also got to tour the karaoke room, which can be rented for $60. I can't wait to go back!

You have 2 hours to eat. I've been here for over an hour. 1 Cook serving is extremely small. But by the time you cook everything and eat. For me, I'm only having 2 servings, which is perfect for me. The only problem I have is... I wait 20 minutes SO you are literally only getting 2 extremely small servings for your 2 hours. Feels very intentional to me. See pictures.

Amazing Korean BBQ Experience at Shu Hot Pot & Korean BBQ! We had such a great time dining at Shu Hot Pot & Korean BBQ. Our server, Shine, was absolutely amazing -- super attentive, friendly, and made sure we had everything we needed throughout the meal. Excellent service like that really takes the experience to the next level! The food was delicious -- fresh meats, flavorful sides, and a generous variety of sauces to mix and match. The vibe of the place was fun and lively, and it was all topped off with very clean restrooms (a small detail, but always appreciated!). Highly recommend this spot for anyone looking for a solid Korean BBQ experience with top-tier service and a great atmosphere. Will definitely be back!

Food- some of the food was meh.... It was recommended that we try Shu Hot Pot & Korean barbecue since we love to eat Korean food. Living in Korea our expectations were high. They disappointed in some areas. The all you can eat is a good concept for those with a hefty appetite. Each person can start out with 5 choices of either meat and seafood. You can order the all you can eat BBQ on its own for $29.99 and if you want the hot pot it's an additional $5. Not bad considering it's all you can eat. We went with just the BBQ and since we were unsure of the meat portions we only went with one of each of our choices. The portions are very small with good reason as they discourage waste. But you're able to order more of what you liked along with other choices. We ordered the Bulgolgi, prime brisket, spicy and the short ribs. The Bulgolgi lacked the taste of the marinade (very bland), the short rib was really good. My husband enjoyed the spicy Octopus and prime brisket. The sauce bar had a lot of different sauces and they have a starter bar with fries, fried Korean chicken wingette, chicken nuggets, spring rolls, some doughy sesame balls and what I think was calamari or onion rings. ‍ I tried the wings with one of the many sauces and the spring rolls and they were both very good. The banchan offered at the sauce bar were kimchi, cucumber kimchi, daikon radish and marinated sprouts. Both kimchi sides lacked flavor and spice (they both had a floral taste). The daikon radish was the best out of the four The establishment is very clean. They did a great job with the set up and decor and the staff is very welcoming. Our server was amazing and very attentive. He kept checking to see if we needed anything. He explained how the whole ordering process worked. You can scan the QR code to place your order or they (the servers) can take your order. Would I go back? Maybe. But I do recommend you try it for the experience.

Our server Shine was outstanding. What a wonderful personality and very attentive and detail oriented. He made everything so fun and exciting!

We sat down and looked at the menu. The price of $35/person for a 2 meat service was a little too steep. It was close to closing time so we decided to save the experience for another day.

I literally walked in and right back out. The staff was horrible which really sucked because I wanted to try it so bad. Very rude.

I walked in and tried to get to go and she was too busy on the phone with somebody running that mouth ! and had a attitude and tried to blame it on her being Jamaican like that's a personality I wouldn't eat her she made me very uncomfortable

This place is cute with mediocre service, but that's about the only good thing this restaurant has to offer. I went here with my husband a few days ago, and I'd first like to put out a disclaimer that in order for you to get both BBQ and Hot Pot, everyone at your table has to get both BBQ and Hot Pot. Despite paying $80 for both me and my husband, I couldn't take my food home, which I had already paid for. Also, last disclaimer, if you have a weak stomach, I 10/10 would not recommend. This food had me feeling terrible for days.

The experience was good because it was fun and unique. The food was fresh and nicely presented. The restaurant was clean, even the condiment bar. All that said, it was overpriced. Lunch for 3 people should not cost over $100. Especially for the basic menu option with no extras. If I realized the cost, I would not have gone and that is the only reason I will not go back.

Went for lunch. Had bad stomach issue after Their stuff not so clean Rice is hard. Service was good. But not sure about the food quality

First, we were seated on time that is about where the positive part of the review ends. The waitress delivered our water then ignored us for the next twenty minutes to pay attention to tables seated after us. We asked twice to order and we're told "just a moment, I have to..." Our waitress, when she finally came back to take our order, seemed annoyed to have to explain the process and was not very informative and not very attentive to keeping the experience sanitary as she kept the clean parchment paper, used on the grill, in the same container she had other tables used (dirty) parchment paper. The sauce and condiment bar was a true cluster f***. The process involves cooking for yourself and though it is called Korean BBQ it is more of a grilling process as there is no charcoal or flame to cook over. Be aware that if you are a party of two you should each identify what you want to cook even if it is the same for the other person. This is important as you will only get a single portion and with how long it takes to receive the food to cook you will have only appetizer size portions at a time. The food was good but overall the experience was terrible. Korea Garden was much better. Will not be back.

Came here to celebrate our niece's high school graduation, she's a pescatarian and we're not particularly knowledgeable, but found out late into the meal after watching our wait staff refill her Tom Yum broth with Pork Bone broth that the only none meat based broth available were the Mushroom and Herbal broths, none of the broths were well labeled for their components so a cursory glance would indicate that the pork bone would be the only meat based broth and maybe a seafood base for the Tom Yum. When bringing this up with the manager she became accusatory since we had been cooking our niece's shrimp on the same grill as the meat we were grilling instead of offering a resolution. Had they not placed a piece of parchment paper on the grill which delays cooking and takes away from the caramelization of the cooked meat process this wouldn't be a concern as the seafood would have stayed separate from the meat juices of the other grilled items. Finally, when we first got our pots of broth my wife tasted our niece's Tom Yum and found it to be very flavorful and wanted to switch her pork bone broth to it, but was told she had to pay an additional charge. This is the only hotpot restaurant among the dozens we routinely visit across the country that has required this, especially if it's true that the pork bone is the base for nearly all other broths. Service and management were subpar at best with attitudes to match, but the ingredients quality was acceptable.

Shine was an outstanding server. The rest of the crew seemed mad we came in 2 hours before close. Once again, Shine was outstanding and probably the only reason I'd ever come back.

Today was the first time we tried Shu's Hot Pot and Kbbq. I had seen it on TikTok so thought we'd give it a go. At first glance, the ambiance is young and vibrant, they have claw machines and fun music playing. The pots they use for the hot pot are nicely decorated. They have a sauce bar, and little appetizers like wings, seaweed salad, and dessert options buffet style. The broth options also vary. We only tried the Tom yum broth, which tastes really great, not too spicy and perfectly made. The options for proteins are decently varied, as are the vegetable options. For the price point, it seemed pretty decent. Some of the things we had issues with include the grill's heating, portion sizes, mix up of orders, and the parchment paper. The grill heated up quite slowly. And once it got hot, you could tell the grill heated unevenly by the way the parchment paper was burning. The portion sizes are quite small. Even ordering two portions of enoki mushrooms came out way smaller than expected. Beef bulgogi portion was also quite small. Our order also got mixed up one of the times, being provided soft tofu when asking for fried and being served noodles when none were ordered. These are small errors, but a shame when the alternative is to throw it away, especially if we didn't want to consume those mistaken orders. Additionally, there are no ventilation shafts above the food to help with smoke venting, which means you'll leave with a pretty strong smell of food. The part that brings my review down to a 3 is the parchment paper. They use parchment paper to line the grill. At first glance, it seems like a cool and unique way of keeping the grill clean, a method we haven't seen before. I made the mistake of putting oil directly on the grill, which I am used to in other locations, but by the second or third iteration of paper changes, it shouldn't affect it. During the second iteration, the parchment paper started to tear up and attach itself onto the protein, which renders it inedible. If you're not paying attention and think it's just char, you could be injesting paper. Ambiance wise, this place would be great to go to for a fun night out. And there seems to be no real issues with the hot pot itself. But with these issues regarding the kbbq, I wouldn't want to eat there at the potential hazard caused by the parchment paper.

We loved the ambiance, but the cut of the meats were very fatty and did not taste good. We ordered some different flavors and couldn't taste the difference. I would just recommend the hot pot not the BBQ. I would drive to the all you can eat hot pot and BBQ in Pooler for a better overall experience.

We went there to have a nice celebration dinner. The inside is super nice and the booth room was a nice size. Our waitress however was all over the place. You could tell it was busy but she did not even seem to know the menu. The food came out and was delivered very abruptly by a runner. It was just put down randomly at the table. We asked her if she could tell us what certain things were so we could hand them to the right person. She said no and walked away. It was just very very very chaotic. The waitress practically not being there and not able to answer questions and food just slapped down on the table. With a runner who was not able to answer questions. I will say the broth was good. But we would not go back. The one in Pooler is better.

the only thing good about this was the ambiance. the soups were either way too bland or WAY too spicy. the worst thing was that they had a "food waste charge" that meant each pound of food you didn't eat you had to pay 15$ for. also my boyfriend and i got two hot pots but we told the waiter we'd like to share one at first, but she said that even if we got 1 that we would be charged for 2 since we'd be sharing it. like who does that!? was a fortune for the worth which was minimal. the waitress was very kind and helpful though.

We went there with a group for a birthday party. They had every person order on the same app and the same ticket. You only have 2 hours for the entire party of 16 to cook your food and eat. One of the children in the group absolutely hated the broth that had brought out we ask if there was any way to switch it out and or even pay for another one they refused to allow us to switch it or buy a different one.Then when the food came out it it was a cluster no one got what they wanted so it ended up being a huge (Charlie Foxtrot). With a huge table of food with no one knowing what anything was on the table. We had our reservations for 19:00 we didn't get seated until almost 19:30. They had made the reservation for 16 people they assured that was not problem but when we all arrived it was that they had to split the party in half because they did not have enough seating for everyone like they said they did when we made the reservation. Would not take a group there again. Would probably be great for 2 people but wouldn't count on it.
