Google
I can not say enough Fantastic things about the service, the oysters, and the atmosphere. The Chef even showed us how to have an Oyster shooter. Once a year, since we come all the way from Phoenix, AZ to eat oysters at this Fantastic restaurant. Best Bday lunch Ever. Thank you, Chef

Julie A

Google
The best. I was overwhelmed with the choices, and I asked that they load me up with some options. They took care of us, and they provided a wine pairing. Solid 10 out of 10 experience. Thank you!

Google
Amazing experience every time! Denise is an absolute gem—she always picks the best oysters and makes great recommendations. The staff is incredibly friendly, and the service is top-notch. Food comes out quickly, and everything is fresh and delicious. Plus, parking is easy, and there’s never a wait to be seated. I recommend this spot for solo dining too.

Google
Not a fan of the service: Came in with my bro for a dozen oysters. Menu says $32/dozen oysters so we ordered a dozen. Waiter said he recommends 4 each of 3 varieties, apparently flavor varies from region to region where they are fished. So we get our dozen plus some extra food, bill comes and the dozen oysters alone are ~$47. Maybe waiter should’ve disclosed that if we take his recc, it’ll be more than the $32 on the menu. Like yeah bro, I’m definitely an oyster connoisseur and want to pay $15 extra for the same number of oysters just so I can taste the different flavors of the sea… Anyways, cool little snack but I won’t be coming here again.

Google
I brought my wife to Shuck’s on Mother’s Day because I wanted her to feel special. Google said “no wait time – come on in,” so we got ready and drove 45 minutes to the restaurant. When we arrived, we saw open tables, but the host told us there would be a 35-minute wait. I mentioned what Google said, but we were brushed off. It felt like we weren’t being taken seriously—or welcomed. Once we were seated, we noticed something that made us feel even worse. While we were eating, we saw two other couples walk in without reservations—and they were seated right away. No waiting. It felt unfair and disrespectful, especially on a day that meant so much to us. The food and drinks were excellent. But when we ordered a half dozen oysters and two oyster shooters to finish the meal, only the shooters came. After about 10 minutes, we had to ask about the oysters. The staff admitted they’d never been submitted. They offered them on the house, but by then we were done. The delay had already ruined the moment. Then, a senior staff member loudly blamed our server, even though we saw the order handed directly to her. No one apologized. No one owned the mistake. I just wanted my wife to feel celebrated. Instead, we left sad and disappointed. The lack of fairness, accountability, and care was painful. Shuck’s, this isn’t just a customer service failure—it’s a leadership failure. You need to do better. Train your staff to treat every guest with dignity and consistency. Own your mistakes. And please update your Google page—it’s misleading. It gave no indication that reservations were needed, which set the wrong expectation from the start.

Google
Oysters are delicious and they explain where they are from when serving if you ask for randoms. Which is nice for trying new ones. I love their tacos. So good. Getting 4 deal (I like 1 of each) is a nice meal and I enjoy the drinks. They have beer and wines and some sparkling drinks. Their sparking mixed drinks are really good and they have some unique beers. Staff is friendly and area is nice and clean. And plenty of parking. It’s a cool place and we really like it.

Google
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Shuck Oyster Bar, and it was an experience to remember. The oysters were absolutely phenomenal—so fresh, pure, and brimming with ocean flavor that they tasted like they had just been harvested. Each bite was a delightful reminder of the sea, perfectly balanced and utterly delicious. In addition to the incredible oysters, I also tried the grilled chorizo cheese sandwich, which was equally impressive. The combination of spicy chorizo and gooey cheese, grilled to perfection, made for a savory and satisfying treat. It was a perfect complement to the seafood, providing a hearty and flavorful contrast. The clam and chorizo dish was another highlight. It was creamy and fresh tasting, with the rich, smooth texture of the sauce perfectly enhancing the flavors of the clams and chorizo. This dish was a delightful surprise, offering a unique and delicious blend of ingredients. The fried oysters were a standout as well. They were perfectly crunchy on the outside and creamy on the inside, offering a delightful contrast in textures. Each bite was a treat, with the crispy exterior giving way to the tender, flavorful oyster within. The atmosphere at Shuck Oyster Bar is incredibly relaxing. The ambiance is laid-back and inviting, making it an ideal spot to unwind and enjoy a meal. Whether you're there for a quick bite or a leisurely dinner, the setting adds to the overall enjoyment of the dining experience. In summary, Shuck Oyster Bar offers an exceptional dining experience with top-notch seafood, delicious dishes like the grilled chorizo cheese sandwich and clam and chorizo, and a wonderfully relaxing atmosphere. Highly recommended!

Google
If you're not familiar with oysters, this is a great place to learn. My server Oscar was very helpful and friendly. There's plenty of craft beer and other great stuff to eat! I had oysters from Maine, Washington, and Australia. Tacos were small, but great!

Yelp
Got my favorite table here! Little booth in the corner.... And OMG - best oysters ever!! They have a great variety and they are soo yummy! Ordered 2 dozen here and could probably eaten more. Lobster rolls are on point, clams and other seafood is prepared and every bite is perfect-- especially when paired with bubbly rose! See you soon!! Thanks for amazing service every time I've been here

Yelp
Came in for dinner on a Saturday and there were plenty of open seating. Got a dozen oysters, grilled cheese, fried mushrooms, fries, fried fish taco, ahi taco, and lobster tacos. The oysters were the best part: fresh and sweet. Theres an option for their house hot sauces for additional price, which should've been included for a dozen oysters at $50. All the other dishes we got were unremarkable. Good portions but tastes were basic. Not even enough sauce for the fried items, like a tablespoon amount. Tacos tasted more tortilla than filling. Service was friendly and quick. Would only come back for HH or oysters.

Yelp
Cute restaurant located in the OC mix. I came for lunch with friends. We ordered french fries, Brussels sprouts, seared ahi, tacos, clam chorizo & uni pasta. Big portions to share. Nice food presentation & good service.

Yelp
Not bad. Wonderful place. Brunch apparently becomes another restaurant that i heard was also good. The place is small. Bar seating. 2 tables that could fit 5 to 6 ppl squeezed or 4 ppl with plenty of room. I would get there early or make a reservation since it's so small. Service was slow for lunch. There were only 2 staff working when we were there so have a little patience. Food was wonderful. The mussels were small meat but sauce was not the garlic wine but more lemon butter? Still enjoyable. Ceasar salad was really good, well dressed with sardines and plenty of parm chz. Small salad. Shrooms were huge. I got really full, so go easy on it. Oysters: some where creamy and another was fat. I had one bad fishy one but that okay still good. Im writing this 4hrs later and no stomach issues from that 1 bad Oyster so u are safe. I want to try uni pasta next.

Yelp
By the time I was finished being educated about oysters from the bartender, I was ready for a swim! Lol! Absolutely incredible variety of awesome oysters. The learning lesson was indeed appreciated. I never knew there were so many different types of oysters. Incredible atmosphere. Our bartender Was over the top. We will be back again, and again.

Yelp
Good place for happy hour. Calamari was light and crisp. Ceviche could've used more salt and more citrus. The fresh oysters (nicely shucked, not gritty and good selection) and fish taco were the highlights! Service was fast and friendly. Their house white wine was also a perfect pair. Will come back to try the rest of the menu

Enrico C.

Yelp
Great selection of oysters. Not your usual common selection found at many of the so called oyster bars. I can only rate this place for their oysters since we did not try anything else. I would give it 5 stars for their selection and freshness. Giving only 4 starts since I've not not anything else. I will be back!

Yelp
Came here for lunch on a Sunday. It wasn't super busy right when it opened, but did eventually fill up. Of course we had to get the oysters here. We ended up getting 2 dozen oysters and they threw in 2 extras on the house! They didn't have many Pacific oysters, but they had a lot of Atlantic oysters on this day. The Atlantic oysters were more briney, which I liked. We also got the lobster tacos and seared scallops. The lobster tacos were delicious with the mango salsa. They do have a little bit of kick with some jalepenos. The seared scallops were super soft and creamy. The scallops were also topped with caviar which elevated the fanciness of the dish. The oyster bar is also surrounded by a lot of cute shops and it's nice to walk around after your meal.

Yelp
Yummy!!!! I can't believe this oyster bar is just tucked away in costa mesa like that. I've been driving by the plaza everyday for the last couple years and had no idea that this gem of a spot was here!! I love love love oysters but honestly don't know anything about it haha so we did the chefs dozen. Everything was so yummy and we loved the toppings that were paired on the side. I also loved their clam chowder!! The sides were yummy but we ordered way too many fried foods. Will definitely be back! The waitstaff were super friendly and attentive. The seating is limited.

Yelp
Service was great! We called to see if there was a wait and found a reserved table for us when we arrived. Oyster selection was very good. We got 2 dozen and enjoyed them all. Staff of very knowledgeable and will bring you what you like. We started with smaller and sweet and ended with more meaty full flavor. The drunken mussels were not my favorite but still good. It needs a little more flavor. The broccoli and fries were great. The Caesar salad was terrific. I think the picture says it all. They do have specials everyday so check those out before you decide which day to go. I really enjoyed going on a weeknight. I don't like too much commotion. The restaurant was pretty full but not loud and very enjoyable. Great spot for good oyster variety and other tasty foods!
google avatar

Yelp
$32 for a dozen oysters and $30 for a dozen clams during happy hour! Everything was so fresh and service was really good! Oysters were a good balance of being meaty, briny, and sweet.

James W.

Yelp
Fantastic Oyster selection - always fresh, nice staff! I enjoyed the vibe. The fries and sauce are also my fav. Along with the grilled cheese
google avatar

Shirley M.

Yelp
I like that there was a wide variety of oysters to choose from. Oysters had colorful hues on the outside and meaty texture on the inside. Oysters come with lemon, onion vinaigrette, horseradish, and hot sauce. Seared scallops were huge and cooked with a smoky taste. The soft caviar added a nice finishing touch at the top of the scallops. The mangoes complemented the lobster in the tacos. Although the tacos were delicious, they were really spicy. There were not a lot of non alcoholic drink options but the water was infused with lemon and cucumber. There's plenty of seating indoor and outdoor. I like that the cushioned seats come with foot rest.

Yelp

Yelp
Well, this is now our favorite place. We ate the same things. My husband and I just switched our food orders. I had the 4 tacos mix and match: 2 lobster tacos and 2 steak tacos. And he had the famous lobster roll with fries. Fries were roughly cut, just the right amount of salt , we tried a couple of Blue island No. 9, NY. All good. Ashley and Tiffany were not there today. We had Eugenie. And let me tell you about Eugenie, the girl who welcomed us today. She was the hostess with the mostest. This girl can talk about anything and everything. She checked in on us pretty frequently, well, we were the only ones there but I'm sure she'll do the same thing even if the place was packed. Does this place know how to spot good people or what? Come to this place. You'll sure be welcomed by its warm and friendly crew.

Yelp
Visited this spot with a friend on a Saturday afternoon! Located at a small strip mall but many cute small businesses around. We made a reservation and the staff directed us to a booth table for us. I recommend making a reservation as it started to fill up around 6pm. They were so attentive to us and our needs :) We ordered the chefs choice half dozen oysters, tacos and calamari. Calamari was good, enough to share between 2 people. The oysters were delicious, we could taste the difference between each oyster type. Very fresh seafood. The tacos were good, we shared 1 of each seafood taco option. Some are a bit spicy because of the salsa, but still delicious!! A great meal and great spot to catch up if you're craving seafood. It is a bit pricey, our bill came out to around $80.

Yelp
I love oysters and seafood and this is such a great spot for fresh oysters! Service was prompt and friendly and our server that Sunday was very knowledgeable about the daily selection. He checked up on us frequently and had great suggestions. I've never tried muscles from Prince Edward Island before andI'm definitely a fan. They tend to be less briny than east coast oysters, but still flavorful and delicious. There was a man who shucked the oysters and delivered them to our table was the absolute sweetest. It's located right at The Mix at Soco in Costa Mesa. The one thing I wasn't a huge fan of was the calamari - it tended to be a little bit on the greasy side. But all in all, a great spot. Definitely come here for their oysters!

Yelp
Delicious and scrumptious. The servers were also amazing and very attentive. Would come back (-:

Yelp
The atmosphere and overall experience was top-tier. The hospitality was felt before even starting our meal. The oysters are so fresh and delightful. We enjoyed their Haven Sake as our drink of choice. It was light and paired perfectly with their oysters. I recommend trying their chef's choice as they take time to speak with us about our pallet!! Ceviche was fresh. THIS is now my go to spot for oysters. 10/10 must try or you can miss out ... Thank you Eugie for such a great experience. You truly brought our experience to such a high standard.

Yelp
This place is incredible! Love the blue decor. If you're an oyster lover, you absolutely have to check it out! The service is super friendly, and since I didn't know much about oysters, they were so patient in explaining the differences between West Coast and East Coast oysters. Depending on the season, they offer a variety of oysters to enjoy, and let me tell you--they're incredibly fresh! A must-visit for anyone who loves oysters!

Yelp
We visited on Tuesday night and unfortunately will never return. While the food was very good, the service was absolutely unacceptable. From the moment we walked in with a party of seven, it was clear our server was not interested in helping us. She seemed more focused on chatting with her friends at the bar and scrolling on her phone. We sat at our table for about 10 minutes before she finally came over to take our order. The restaurant wasn't busy, just us, her friends, and party of 2 ladies, yet the level of service we received was appalling. At one point, a gentleman came in and asked for a drink, but the server told him it was "last call" at 7:30pm, even though the restaurant is open until 9pm. When he questioned her, she doubled down and then told him service would be "really slow" if she did serve him. He explained he had just flown in and driven straight there, but instead of helping, she walked out of the restaurant and sat in her car crying, leaving the place without a functioning server. Meanwhile, five of our seven entrees arrived, but the other two never came. We waited nearly 20 minutes with no explanation. Eventually, the server's friends, one of whom even admitted she didn't work there, were bussing tables just to keep things moving. The other 2 items eventually came, but the damage was done. When we finally got our check, there was an unexplained $35 service fee, which we couldn't dispute because the only server had abandoned her job. We left a cash tip for the people who actually tried to help, paid the bill, and left. The owners may want to consider promoting this particular server to "customer," since she clearly prefers hanging out with her friends over doing her job. Sadly, we will not be back.
google avatar

Bryan S.

Yelp
An amazing selection of fresh oysters from all over the world. Great beer and wine selection, and the food is excellent. The staff is super friendly and helpful. We will continue to return whenever we are in town.

Yelp
My partner and I arrived on Thursday, January 30, at 8:20 PM and parked right in front of the building. As we got out of the car, one of the staff members inside flipped the "Open" sign to "Closed," even though the posted hours clearly state they close at 9 PM. It was disappointing and felt rude, especially since we had just arrived. Terrible customer service from the get-go. We can't comment on the food (maybe the oysters are good?), but we'll never know because the poor service made it impossible to even give it a try. Unfortunate, because we travel a long way to try this place out. Definitely won't be returning. I'm really disappointed, especially considering I usually reserve 5-star reviews and am generally very understanding, as reflected in my past reviews.
google avatar

Katrina V.

Yelp
A small restaurant tucked among furniture shops. Surprised it wasn't crowded at 6:30p on a thursday. The staff was not very attentive as our server didn't check on us very much considering they weren't busy. The octopus had burnt ends when the tender spot was i. the middle. I mentioned to my server and she didn't provide any help other than telling me she'll let the chef know. The crab cakes were tasty and full of crab so was happy about that. Aside from the selection of oysters available I would rather go to another oyster bar that gives better service
google avatar

Edwin V.

Yelp
If you don't mind terrible service this is the spot for you. Please note there are multiple bad reviews regarding service. Came here for lunch with a friend and the restaurant was basically empty. A table of people finishing and a family getting ready to leave. The male server barely approached us and simply handed us a single menu and walked away. The conversation with the people finishing up was more interesting. By now, I'm a little annoyed but it's okay the restaurant is slow how long will he take. Well he never came, never brought us water, and we had to ask for another menu to which he responded "why don't you use the QR code?" Well I didn't know there was a QR code to again "oh I forgot to tell you but it's there". He then walks away and proceeds to go guess which hangover character the people are at the other table. At this point, he should clock out and join them. My friend then stands up and asks for a glass of water at the bar. He says "sorry our system just reset give me a minute" because he was still prioritizing his fun boozy table. It was very rude and I told my friend who was standing at the bar still waiting that it was not worth it and we left. I get having a good time at work and being fun but not at the expense of good, quality service. We ended up going to The Water Grill and had a lovely time.

Yelp
Oysters were fantastic! We shared the lobster roll and omg perfectly buttered with crispy fries!

Breeana B.

Yelp
The food here is really good but the girl who works here is so rude, she always has a bad attitude and I came in today, their hours say they close in two hours and she said she did last call for food. 2 hours before you close? I work in the restaurant industry and she's always mismanaging her time. She will act rude and stressed out when there's like 4 people in there. Honestly , garbage service. She has like orange hair and a horrible attitude every day.
google avatar

Yelp
Oysters are fresh. the ambience is fun, light, and sunny! They have a good happy hour for win. Oysters are $3 per during happy hour. Wine is around $6

Belinda U.

Yelp
Everything was awesome - food, drinks, ambience, and of course, the service. It is a small, trendy place, and very popular with young adults though there were families and seniors like us, too. The staff was hard-working. Thank you, Nancy, for taking good care of us! I recommended it to my friend, and she was very pleased, too. Can't wait to go back!

Yelp
Holy holy sheeeeeee been coming here for a min and getting the same thing on a buetyyyy roll and they cut the meat. But now what in the actual fuck is this beyond medium rare I can hear the meat still crying don't kill me it's so rare and like chewing gum. And the bread is beyond soggy and discomforting to look at ,The bread which was just a peice of wonder bread now the fuck is this fuck this place for making me pay 25$ for quite possible the worst sandwich I've ever had such a good day I'm not even pissed just the biggest inconvenience cause now I had to place a order from Carl's Jr for a fucking decent meat sandwich . Owner pls read this and close if you can't afford to keep the same fucking PEICE of bread or quality of everything lol my gawd first ever yelp review

Yelp
We used to come here all the time after shopping at South Coast. Since the pandemic we haven't been there for a while. First thing we noticed is the ambiance had changed, the service was mediocre at best. Before the staff would explain what's good/fresh today, and what the flavor profile of each oyster or clams are like. This time it was non-existent, the waitress was surprised that I wanted to order a la carte instead of the generic half dozen or dozen. Once food was ordered you can hear them chit chatting amongst themselves not giving a care. Even the food was served to the wrong table. At that point I whispered to my wife saying there might be a change of ownership because I don't recognize any of the staff and they were just so undisciplined. This would be the last time I would visit Shuck. I will cherish the good memories that I've had with my prior experiences. Best of luck.

Yelp
This our second time here Ashley is very nice serving us and good service i definitely recommend it Food is excellent and not expensive Thank you: Ashley

Yelp
Another amazing meal at Shuck. Ordered the half dozen oysters and they were very clean and fresh. I'm a big fan of the Uni pasta. It's very rich but the portion is perfect. Tried the Caesar salad and it was just ok. I wish the dressing was tastier but I still demolished it. Not pictured, the large bowl of fries which were delicious. They serve them with a spicy dipping sauce. My son dipped his fries in the clam chowder and he loved that. We left full and happy as usual

Sarah K.

Yelp
1st time trying oysters, they were so good! Loved the calamari and caesar salad! Loved the location very quiet and can sit in a cute market place with hipster shops!
google avatar

Carolyn R.

Yelp
Came here for a friend's birthday. Even though the oyster selection was a bit thinner than usual since it was Saturday evening after the mad rush of farmer's market, they were fresh and delicious. We had 2 dozen oysters plus the Caesar salad which has real anchovies. So delicious. I need to remember the happy hour prices since I live nearby.
google avatar

Yelp
Tyler thank you for amazing service. The oyster was delicious soft fresh. The taste is like Evan I really enjoy and I recommend to anyone I know

Yelp
Love their cioppino! Great flavors and very satisfying! The oysters are also very fresh and delicious. My kids shared the grilled cheese and added lobster and loved it! If you're a fan of seafood, you really can't go wrong! The ambiance is clean, open and inviting. Not stuffy at all! Casual and comfortable.

Yelp
I've been here a good handful of times. The first few times was alright. Considering I really love oysters & their Uni pasta is pretty good. Service is mediocre at best. - But the last couple times was the last straw for my man & I. The females that work here have ALWAYS been so freakin rude. (Both kind of on the heavy side, wears black clothing, with their hair tied in a ponytail. I think they are Hispanic/Filipino?.) But they are always there. They always got a stank attitude for no reason, as if they doing us a favor. Like girl... we giving you the business! & everytime we've been here we never gave them a hard time, & we always left a good tip. But the service we get here is wild to say the least... & reading back on some reviews there's a lot of customers who feel the same way. So that stamped that my man & I ain't trippin about the employees here. I don't understand how they are still employed & management doesn't do anything about it. THIS is how you lose great & could've been loyal customers. No matter how good your food is, it all comes down to the service & how you treat people. & the vibes we always got from here has been nothing more than snobby, stinky attitudes. For this reason we will not be returning.

Yelp
This place has a lot of potential...Came here on a Friday night around 5:30, luckily we had a reservation because they turned multiple couples and groups away even though they had plenty of open seating. We ordered some wine and a dozen oysters. Got our wine quickly but waited over 40 minutes for our oysters. They had 1 person in the back cooking, 1 person shucking oysters, and 1 person waiting on tables. Oysters were OK, nothing to rave about. I was however shocked to see the servers taking shots with a table that were clearly their friends while they continued to turn away guests.
google avatar

Lyn D.

Yelp
We came for lunch on a whim, and it did not disappoint. We ordered the ceviche, tacos, grilled cheese with lobster and Caesar salad, and everything was delicious. The grilled cheese was perfectly crunchy and gooey without it being overcooked. The ceviche was delish and had a great kick. The tacos were also a great choice, but we like the lobster and shrimp taco the best. The spot is very casual but has high-end eats. Service was great, considering the oyster bar was busy. Highly recommend!

Jenny L.

Yelp
I really like Shuck Oyster Bar. I don't know much about oysters but our server was so kind and helpful and selected a range of oysters from different regions for us to try. We loved the oyster shooter and the baked mussels! The broth was rich and the bread it came with was super buttery. The Ahi Tuna was a bit salty but was still delicious and the shrimp ceviche tastes really good with their house made chili sauce. I would definitely recommend coming here during their happy hour before 6:30.
google avatar

Chy P.

Yelp
I stumbled upon Shuck Oyster Bar while waiting for a workshop and decided to grab a quick bite. It's tucked away in the corner of the plaza, and I sat solo at the bar. I ordered half a dozen oysters (2 of each variety) during happy hour and an Alaskan cod taco. I let the server pick the oysters, with a request for small, sweet ones. I really enjoyed 2 of the 3 types, but one was a bit too sweet for me - totally my fault for asking! The taco, though small, was incredible, one of the best fish tacos I've had, which was a nice surprise. I was in and out quickly and definitely plan on returning.

Yelp
Wonderful place to grab food for happy hour. It has a very welcoming ambiance and the outdoor seating is very cozy (except it was uncharacteristically cold and windy for a summer night). This place is located in the OC Mix, there is plenty of parking in the plaza. My family and I came on a Tuesday, but it was already passed their happy hour. I ordered the clam chowder and lobster mac and cheese, and we shared a dozen oysters. The clam chowder was super creamy and the bread was toasted perfectly. The mac and cheese was not as gooey as I had hoped for, and there wasn't a lot of lobster on it. The service was great, they came to fill our waters and clear the table when we were finished. They also came and checked on us a couple times during our meal. My dog also came and they brought out a water bowl for him as well. We really enjoyed our meal and hope to come back soon!

Yelp
I love this little oyster bar. Very fresh oysters, a great variety to choose from. You can ask for some recommendations based off your preferences. The food here is actually quite good too, the pasta was delicious and full of protein! Chowder was good. I wouldn't say that it was anything special though. The grilled cheese here is quite delicious, very cheesy! There's bar seating, and then there is also some table seating.

Yelp
Highly disappointing experience and nobody in our office will be returning. - A group of 8 (office) made a reservation at least a month in advance for a birthday celebration. We have gone to Shuck many times and were shocked at the experience this time. Reservation was at noon and food order was in by 12:20. We waited over an hour for the food to come all at once (starters and meals- oysters too). We saw other people who had come in after us get their food first which was frustrating but we were all very kind about it to the server. - The server was the WORST server I've ever had in my entire life. She was extremely rude from the beginning, unapproachable- was blaming us for the delays, and confrontational even when nobody is in our group was. When we got the bill that was $700, I asked the server (younger hispanic woman) if there was anything we could do about the bill given that it took over an hour to get our food. I told her we come here often for office parties and have never had that happen, she responded "well how great for you guys." She immediately was rude, defensive, and blamed our group and the shortage of staff. She said because someone in our group came in later that it affected the food order, but he didn't even order any food or drink, lol. I've worked in the restaurant industry and I get it that people call out and stuff happens, but I WOULD NEVER treat a customer like that. She was getting angry when I calmly asked for managements phone number. She handed me the business card and followed me back to our table. She stood there staring and I said "I got it from here, thank you" and she continued standing and staring. The whole table felt super awkward and she doubled down. She made comments on my PHYSICAL APPEARANCE (seriously) and asked me if I wanted her first and last name. I said, your first name would be great and she responded that her name was Kimberly and demanded my name which was weird. After we paid, she demanded that our group leave. It's important to note that none of us responded in anger. She was trying to provoke , especially me, and I kept my cool. I was just in shock that this was even happening at such a "nice" establishment. - The manager was hard to get a hold of and she passed me on to someone else who I explained in detail what happened. When I told her the servers name, she told me there was no Kimberly on staff. The servers real name was Janet or Janna which I had to research and find out on my own. Days went by while they were "investigating " and I reached out for an update. She said they took care of it and ensured it won't happen again, no detail at all. Our group of 8 people all witnessed the same thing and that was still the outcome. Crazy. I know that if I ever commented on someone's physical appearance (negatively) and made a large group that uncomfortable, I would have been left no tip and I probably would have lost my job. The fact there were no consequences for her other than the tip was just astonishing, especially for the price of the food here. - Bottom line, don't waste your money here. The staff is rude and are defended by management when they give you a fake name because of their horrible customer service. There are plenty of great restaurants in the area which provide a positive experience with excellent food. Good luck staying in business down here treating your loyal customers like that! NEVER will go here again along with the others in the office that witnessed all of this.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I have been coming here since the summer of 2021. In fact, this was one of the places we dined at on our first date, and where my boyfriend had his very first oyster, and said he really enjoyed it! So we hold a special place in our hearts for Shuck. They have a variety of oysters from all over the West Coast, East Coast, Baja Mexico, and even Novia Scotia and PEI. We always do a mixed dozen, and they've never disappointed. In addition, we absolutely LOVE their ahi tuna tacos. All their tacos are great, but there is something extremely satisfying about the ahi tuna topped with chimichurri, aioli, and greens -- suuper tasty! If I could ding them on one thing, it would be that their mac n cheese needs a pinch of salt. A little goes a long way to elevate the flavor. Otherwise, the Cavatappi pasta and creaminess of the dish make it quite good. We like that they have a nice wine list as well. Fun, casual atmosphere where you can dine at a booth or at the bar. We are partial to dining at the bar and watching the servers shuck oysters. Service has always been kind, friendly, and efficient. Definitely stop by and help yourself to some tasty seafood here!

Yelp
We swung by for lunch...the fried calamari was delicious and fresh! The lobster roll was expensive and bland. The tacos on taco Tuesday are tasty with an option to mix and match, so that's cool. Coworkers loved the selection of oysters, which is great since that's what they're known for. Our server was helpful and able to explain the different types of oysters which was awesome since there is at least six options to choose from. Look for the lunch specials since it can be a bit pricey. Hipster in style, small interior not many seats but perfect for meetings.
