It's really great Chinese food! Names you know, but way better than the others. And for our family of 4, it was cheaper than then buffet down the street. I'm spoiled now. Eric, our server, was great! Pleasant atmosphere and friendly service. A+ in my book!

Disappointed in the food taste, texture, and cost. Delivery was timely. Rice was prepared perfect. Used Door Dash. Too thick of dumpling wraps and suggest reducing size for even steaming and cooks do tasting of speciality dishes and sauces. Menu should note if seasonal or fresh seafood used.

The wife and I ate here shortly after it opened. We are currently eating at a restaurant in Ohio and conversation about menu items here spawned this review. My wife met me after work for our Shun Lee reservation. She can dress down at work, and did so the day of the reservation. When we walked in, we were immediately judged. We were sat with a server that needed more training. His only other table was another homely looking couple. The remainder of the restaurant was dressed very nice and had the best wait staff. We had a great time and the food was pretty good, but the atmosphere presented by everyone but our server was unwelcoming. He was tipped very generously and we will never return. We hope he has moved on to a restaurant or industry that appreciates him.

Service and food were excellent. I will definitely be back to try more! We had the crab Rangoon, egg rolls, pan fried pork dumplings, bang bang shrimp, branzino, Peking duck, pepper beef, and fried rice

Google
Shun Lee fills a much needed niche in Lexington, one left vacant ever since Hunan in Southland closed many years ago: a good, but thoroughly Chinese American style restaurant with a good sitdown experience. If you want this kind of food, want it in an environment better than a lunch counter, and want it done in a way that isn't terribly greasy, salty or sugary, this is really your sole option in Lexington. Having said that, I'm going to criticize the negative reviews. First, if you're reviewing a restaurant based on their DoorDash delivery, you're in the wrong format. Go away. Second, this isn't an authentic, ethnically Chinese restaurant and doesn't pretend to be, so again, if that is your gripe then you're objectively wrong. Third, if you want PF Chang you should go there. I read the bad reviews and instantly recognized them as the people who ensure Lexington is clogged with major chain restaurants, but little that is local, authentic or fine. I wish I could report those Karenist reviews and get them removed.

Google
We went there for happy hour and had the BEST time!! Half priced drinks from 11a-6p and a great selection of reasonably priced appetizers. We had the bang bang shrimp. So good! We’ll definitely be back especially with their front patio once it cools down!

Google
We set up reservations via Open Table. We received both an email and text confirmation the day before our reservation. When we showed up, a sign was on the door stating closed for remodeling. In this age of technology, how is this level of miscommunication possible!

Google
Went to Saturday dinner with family , son, and his college roommates. Had fantastic experience. Staff, food, and atmosphere was not what I anticipated. Our server was Eric, and he was excellent. The support staff was wonderful. The menu was laid out in land, sea, and sky. This is a great place for family dinners or business dinners. If you want a unique Chinese food experience that is classy and very reasonably priced, give it a try. It will likely far exceed your expectations.

Yelp
Lexington has been lacking Dim Sum, but recently Shun Lee added it to their lunch menu. How happy am I! It's a limited menu, but good choices. While there are no traditional rolling carts, you order off the menu. Everything was excellent, and very reasonable. We split the bill, $15. each. I met the chef and told her how glad I am to see Dim Sum in Lexington. There's also a regular lunch nenu. The interior is lovely and there is an outdoor patio. A little too chilly for that today. Do go. I certainly will again. 94

Yelp
Tried this place for takeout. Overall I would say it's a solid 4.5 stars, not quite hitting 5 for me. Called in order, was ready in 15 mins when they said it would be. Staff are friendly enough. Inside also seems like a great dine in atmosphere. I think overall the food is pretty good. It is also significantly more expensive than comparable dishes served around the area. The beef dishes are not totally unreasonable to pay more for as they do seem to use tenderloin - good quality and tender beef which you will not commonly find in Chinese restaurants. I had the black pepper beef and it was pretty good. Nice mix of beef and veggies in a good sauce. I also had the Szechuan chicken, again a nice mix of veggies and decent quality chicken. Like many Szechuan dishes it is a little more on the oily side. Very flavorful though. Chicken lo mein also a solid lo mein dish. Overall, I think it's a pretty good spot. It's definitely at the upper end of the price range for this type of food. If you don't mind paying a little more, you'll probably be satisfied. If cost is more important to you, there's a chance you might feel like you've overpaid depending on what you get.

Yelp
Lexington is not graced with a ton of great global cuisine, so this new Chinese offering caught my eye. It's embedded amongst some condos and I don't remember what restaurant was here before this one, but it is more upscale than any other Asian restaurant in Lexington that I know of. Having some travel to do, however, I got takeout, which was ready in a timely fashion. The packaging did not hold up well and I lost a bit of food when the bag broke. But thankfully not most of it. Their rendition of ma po tofu was better than basic, with a complex peppery flavor that I couldn't wait to finish. There was a bit of mushrooms and peas in there, but it was mostly tofu, which I like. Ordering spring rolls wasn't a bad idea either as I needed a bit of cabbage and carrots. The menu had several interesting vegetarian options and on the strength of my experience, they might be worthwhile.

Yelp
1/18/25 My brother and mother are sick as a dog all night since they ate this for dinner. My brother had an entree with beef and rice. I'm not sure which one. My mother only soup and an egg roll. They said it tasted great, but getting sick is not worth that.

Yelp
if you're going to be closed, at least update your web site!!! I was able to make reservations for tonight! How is that possible!?!?

Tammy C.

Yelp
We love their food! The server is always friendly, quick, and attentive. The steamed dumplings, egg rolls, hot n sour soup are always delicious. The main entrees are always fresh and hot. The restaurant is clean and nicely decorated.

Synthia B.

Yelp
The service was slow. The server had virtually no sense of humor. The chicken lettuce wraps were way too sweet. Sent those back. But charged for them. To try to make up for the wraps, requested wonton soup. It was good. No charge for the soup. Had a bottle of wine. Bill was $184 which included tip. We won't be back.

Yelp
So delicious. I hope this place makes it. So many restaurants have failed in this spot. The beef and broccoli and Mongolian beef are the best I have ever had. So flavorful and tender!

Yelp
I must say first of all I was impressed for the service with this place having a soft opening on February 28, 2024. We stopped here while in Lexington for a Dr visit. While not going as smooth as everyone would like the service was acceptable being newly opened. One reminder for everyone who has issued with Gluten, this is not possible as the kitchen environment is open. However not a concern for us. We started out with Steamed Dumplings pork and chicken, a little soggy but tasted great. The Siu Mai Pork was much better. I initially was going to try the Kung Po but it was not indicated spicy, so I opted for the General Tso's instead and my wife had the Szechuan Sytle chicken. The General Tso was full of flavor with a hint of ginger but did live up to the spicy. The Szechuan chicken has a spicy but sweet flavor that should distinguished it from Hunan or Kung Pao. The thick texture with a nice tone of sweet and tangy flavor made it. We also got the Peking Duck for Two with Scallions and Hosin Sauce to go for later. The Peking Duck was mouth watering tender and not chewy or tough, It was how ever a little oily. All in all a fair experience, that will hopfully contiue to improve.

Yelp
We went on Easter. Surprised it wasn't busy. Family of five, three teenagers. Host was dressed in a suit, dining room was tastefully decorated. I felt underdressed, but the host was very hospitable and said there was no dress code. They do have outdoor seating, but it was still too early in spring to enjoy. Server was super nice. Offered sparkling water or flatwater. I had questions about the menu, so she brought out Miss Lee, the visionary behind the restaurant. Very kind and answered all my menu questions. We ordered egg rolls, soup, bang, bang, shrimp, and our entrées. The kids all had beef or chicken fried rice. My husband got the chicken, lettuce, wraps, and I got the Szechuan chicken. everything is made from scratch! Incredible quality! Wonderful flavor! HUGE portions. I wouldn't say this is fine dining, but very tasteful. They do carry out. A full bar. Before we found this place, I was frustrated that there wasn't an authentic Chinese restaurant, but voilà! This place checks all the boxes.

Yelp
We enjoyed an early dinner , the service was outstanding and the meal was served promptly and very hot! I ordered 2 appetizers, steamed pork dumplings and scallion pancakes. They were both tasty and portions were good sized. I also ordered jasmine tea and it was fragrant and tasted great!

Yelp
We ate here week before last. First, we were delighted to be greeted by the host Frank who is always welcoming and friendly. We were offered a choice of still or sparkling water. We had to do at least two appetizers and chose the dumplings and the crab rangoon. My husband ordered the entrees so I can't remember exactly what he ordered - but I can say without certainty they were both delish, well seasoned and chocked full of fresh veggies properly cooked. A very nice ambience and all that for a very reasonable price tag of less than $80 out the door with tip. We will definitely be regulars.

Yelp
Food was good, drinks were overpriced. $100 for 2 people, 2 cosmos and 2 makers mark. Food was $40, drinks $60. Probably won't visit again.

Yelp
I was here at lunch and enjoyed it. I will support this restaurant precisely because the residents of this building are most likely passed the fare is Chinese. These are the snobbiest restaurants in Lexington! This is. difficult location to manage and has been as far back as when it was Cafe Jennifer. I had a wonderful chicken dish ( King Pao) and it was freshly made and tender. The egg roll was good too and the hot and sour soup was very mild but also delicious. the owner owns Frankie and Dino's here in town. if yiu are undecided, come fir lunch during the week. I will be back. lunch was about 18.00.

Yelp
Some really good entrees. I had the Dry Fried Beef Hor Fun noodle dish. Great flavor and the noodles were cooked well. Kimberly was our server and took great care of us. Parking is currently an issue as the garage is being worked on.

Yelp
Fresh and authentic. A great little restaurant! Seek it out! Great service, food and ambiance.

Yelp
I left Shun Lee a glowing review 4 months ago when I first ate at your restaurant. Since then I have ordered carry out 10 times, with each order getting smaller or completely wrong. Two weeks ago I ordered fried rice and you didn't put any soy sauce on the rice and tonight I ordered your Orange Chicken and asked that the sauce be put in a separate container so the chicken didn't get soggy since I'm not eating it until tomorrow. I asked your waiter to repeat the order which they did. When I got home, the sauce was all over the chicken which will now be mush. I'm not happy.....

Yelp
Weird experience! It won't be in business by summer. This has been so many different venues over the years and needs to go back to America fare as it originally was. Service slow and waitress lacked enthusiasm. Everything tasted the same..... like grease! I've had better Chinese from the grocery. If want Chinese go to PFChang! Really want places in this area to succeed but this concept will not!

Yelp
We've been here several times and it never disappoints. The Mongolian beef is delicious and perfectly seasoned. Loved the dumplings, fried rice, and lo mein are really tasty. My family was very happy with their dishes. Our server, Eric was excellent and made recommendations we all were happy with. Great clean atmosphere, and very good service.

Yelp
Went to Shun Lee this evening, I have to say I was more than pleasantly surprised. This was by far the best Chinese cuisine I have had in this region. Having travel to china on many occasions I can say this was as authentic as it gets. The flavors were outstanding. All the ingredients were fresh and cooked to perfection. The servings were nicely proportioned and served hot from the kitchen. I tried the shrimp with chili sauce , the egg roll, and the scallops with glass noodles as a starter. My wife had the Kung Poa shrimp and spring roll. Everything was a ten out of ten. If you love Chinese food do not miss this place , by far the best in the region. Can't wait to go back!

Yelp
We ordered takeout from this restaurant last week. Everything was good except that no plum sauce was supplied with our MuShu Pork, which is really necessary to make the dish complete. Don't know why it was not supplied. Please check your orders from takeout.

Yelp
We ordered through door dash for pick up . The total was 150.00 . We drove down to pick up and came him with one bag . All that was in it was egg rolls and rice no entrees . We called to tell them they had no answer just someone must of picked up the wrong order. The owner told us to drive back down . We had to wait 44 mins while they made the "entire meal " she then gave us a 15.00 gift no refund. we then went home and the meal was still not right it was missing the 20.00 dumplings we ordered. I called back and requested a refund . The owner is so rude and hung up on me twice when she was in the wrong. She then answered the phone after I had to call back and she told me she could not refund me since we had the food but it was still not right. She then said she would would refund after I requested ten times but I had to come back down to the restaurant with my credit card because she didn't know how to refund it over the phone . I then drove back down for the third time with my credit card . She then told me she couldn't refund because we ordered through door dash . She did not offer to give a gift card for her overpriced food. I can not fathom hanging up on customers after she was in the wrong and got the order wrong . She said she would make the dumplings but I would have to wait again . I had 4 children at home waiting for dinner and a one year old . She then had the audacity to say "one year olds don't eat table food." She is incredibly rude and had no remorse over making me drive three times and getting the order wrong three times. This restaurant use to be a lovely French restaurant and we loved it . I have never been treated with such disrespect by a business owner. It's overpriced and she is so rude. if I could leave zero stars I would . Very disappointed by customer service and being hung up on after simply requesting a refund after the order being wrong three times and then being told to drive down to receive a refund . She claimed she was busy but there was one other couple in the entire restaurant and she even said we are not busy when I questioned her for telling me to come down there with a credit card. Never been treated so badly by a Owner in the restaurant business.

Yelp
Our group of six had an outstanding dining experience at Shun Lee on a Friday night. The setting is attractive and comfortable. The availability of a round table made conversation easy and unstrained. The service--Kim was our waitress--was flawless. The food was absolutely delicious! We shared dumplings and pancakes for starters and then each ordered a different entree. We were all pleased and satisfied. Our group has dined in a variety of restaurants together and never have there been as many "mmmmm's" murmured during a meal as could be heard at Shun Lee's. It was that good.
