Yelp
I take no pleasure in writing a negative review, however our dining experience here was ruined by one person. I'm sure there are many hard working people here, but when you have an extremely rude server who works for you, you really should do something about it. There are numerous other reviews on here and on google stating that diners had a bad time here due to the rudeness of the service staff.
The positives, the decor is very cute, the food was good, no wait for seats. The place is small, if I had to guess, maybe it seats 50? The bad, the rudest server I have ever encountered in my life, although he didn't start off that way. He warned us numerous times that the food would take a while. In my mind, I'm like ok, 15 minutes? It's brunch food, not a 5 course dinner. It ended up taking 35 minutes. So, when the food arrived, I asked why had the food taken so long, and he went off on me...the excuses were: there was a party of 11, 25 other people that got there before me that were waiting for their orders, there's to go orders, and there was a sign on the door that says the food takes a long time to prepare, that it's all prepared fresh. And that we were only waiting 35 minutes. I said 'only'? I said to him all I did was ask you a question, you don't have to get so defensive. I actually thought of walking out at this point. If the to go orders are monopolizing the kitchen time at the expense of your eat in diners, that's a problem. TAKE NOTE MS OWNER
But then owner came by and took over, I said to her his response was nasty and rude and she said while everything he said was true, his delivery was wrong. Not only was it wrong, it was outrageous. For being in the hospitality business, he was anything but hospitable. While I get they were busy, but if you can't handle 40 diners ordering brunch/lunch, then you need more staff in the kitchen. And the kicker was, my omelette order came out wrong. The owner to her credit, had the correct order in front of me in about 5 minutes, she was very nice and pleasant, yet it doesn't take away that she condones this behavior.
And the icing on the cake, the server came back about 5 minutes after I got the correct order with what I thought was going to be an apology for his rude behavior, what I got was, I'm sorry but I have to leave early, I was called away for an emergency and I'll have someone leave you the check. This can't be for real, right? What should have happened was that the owner should have told the server to apologize for his rude behavior. What a joke. If you don't have the patience to deal with the public, find another job.
The sign on the front door that says the food takes a while to come, does not give the serving staff Carte Blanche to be rude to patrons. This isn't Dick's Last Resort. I wonder, was the server the owner's family member? Regardless, he should be fired. TAKE NOTE. HIS BEHAVIOR WAS UNACCEPTABLE.
I did leave a tip, not my usual 20% plus, but around 17-18% for the poor other souls that have to work this rude server (kitchen staff, bussers etc). The last kicker, since you (the server, owner, staff) know how slow your kitchen is, it should NOT take 10 minutes to get a coffee refill, and even we had to flag someone down to get it.
