The Best Bubble Tea in Montreal | Eater Montreal

"Shuyi Tealicious has several locations around Montreal and over 7,000 worldwide. Its offering runs from fruit and milk teas to yakult (a Japanese fermented milk beverage) and yogurt drinks. Try the strawberry or mango cheese-topped green tea for a uniquely creamy tang." - Kelly Albert

This is just a review for the mango pomelo sago. It’s a great drink! I wanted a medium size, but they only had large cups at the time. It was $8.25 CAD for the large drink. They made it so quickly. This is a pick up and leave type of place. No seating; no bathroom. Credit card accepted. This is located in Chinatown. It’s a small storefront, so it’s easily missed.

Google
The taste was good, but way too expensive for a drink where half the cup is only ice ( i asked less ice, so 30%) not sure the cup is a large one too... so 3,4 sips of it, and we're done... Do better to train your employees please... 13 $ + tax and tips wayyyy too expensive. Not worth it

Stopping at Shuyi is turning into a tradition for us every time we are passing through, we are craving one of their delicious bubble tea to have in hand while seeing the sights and searching out more delicious bites! Their drinks never disappoint! You can't go wrong with Shuyi. I think that of all the choices available in the market right now, they are the reference standard. In terms of flavors, combinations and consistency. On a hot summer day touristing in chinatown, it just feels like the right thing to do! 🥤

I bought a hot grass jelly drink, but the grass jelly tasted like medicine—very gross. They also added dried raisins, which made it even worse. The only good part was the chewy taro, and the guy who served me was nice. However, I will never spend a cent on that disgusting drink again. 🤮

Google
Absolutely love this place! Shu Yi Boba never disappoints — the drinks are insanely good, perfectly balanced, and super refreshing. But what really takes it to the next level is the service. Shoutout to the guy with glasses — not only is he super handsome, but he’s also incredibly friendly and knows exactly what to recommend. Dude deserves a raise. If you’re in the area and not stopping by here, you’re seriously missing out.

Ordered 3 drinks from this location via Uber Eats and it was absolutely disgusting. It tasted like watered down milk with some bubbles. No flavour. Had to throw out $30 worth of bubble tea.

Google
They have a variety of unique bubble tea options. It’s only a pick up counter store but the service is very fast. I recommend the strawberry mochi latte. They also have sago which is not something you can find at all bubble tea store. I recommend trying it, it’s similar to tapioca but smaller.

Google
Good taste and service, but they commit a cardinal sin of bubble tea shops : too much ice! And I’m going to be nitpicky here … but it’s hard to break through the plastic cover with the paper straw. You have to bring it down hard and it will cause a little spill. Anyway! Very very refreshing on a hot summer night.

Yelp
Overall: C // 3 stars Quite bummed to see that a lot of their fresh fruit teas were out of stock, so I opted for the mango green tea and was pleasantly surprised by the abundance of mango and lychee jelly in the drink that actually worked well together to be a tropical refresher. I greatly dislike their packing though as the seal is too strong for their weak paper straws to break, and the cup hides the visibility of the tea. Yelp
Nice little take out spot in the very walkable Chinatown strip. I got the duo peach yogurt slush and thought it tasted good. Differentiating themselves from the rest of the boba shops nearby are all the drinks which incorporate multiple mix ins that give a variety in texture and flavor. There was no line on a Tuesday night and I thought my drink came out in a reasonable time considering there was only one working who was both manning the kiosk and making drinks.

Yelp
I visited this place very often in the last years and it's quality and selection plummet. It used to be a very good place, now not so much. Each timed I tried a hot drink, even when asking them to make it very very hot, it's barely warm. Funny thing is the first ever drink I took there was a hot drink and it was very hot. Now, winter or summer, it's warm at best. Not enough to warm you. As for the bubbles, whatever the one I tried since at least last year, always overly gooey, very soft, strange texture and no taste. They are very bad. I've tried an hour after opening, during rush hours were you wait more then 30 minutes and an hour before closing, always the same. Now for the drink itself, it often taste just nothing. Last one I took today was the caramel milk tea which is normally very sugary and full of taste, it's like drinking a hot coco. But it taste mostly water like everything I tried in the last years. With all the different offering on that street alone, I would suggest to go somewhere else for now. The menu also changed a lot and reduced. With my luck, my favorite all disappeared one by one. It used to have different offering then other places, but not anymore.

Yelp
Quick easy in the chinatown strip. Parking was a bit of a pain but after 7:30pm you can find parking meters available across from the complexe desjardins mall. Single person operation, walk up counter / window. Tasty, refreshing on a hot humid day. It's on chinatowns alley street closed off to cars. Scooped up two drinks and some dragon beard candy on the block. Nice little combo for the area. Chinatown is a lot smaller here in Montreal than I realized compared to many others around the globe.

Yelp
Spent the day in Montréal and was feeling parched. I ordered a mango pomelo sago drink and it was yummy. It was more like a milk tea consistency rather than smoothie-like, but still good. The mango pomelo yogurt has more of the consistency I was expecting. Quick & friendly service. Would come here again !

Yelp
Best bubble tea in chinatown. Cash only. Unique flavours and the bubbles were perfectly soft and chewy. I loved the variety of flavours that chains like chatime don't offer. I loved my mango pomegranate drink and the brown sugar milk tea was delicious. Can't go wrong with anything on the menu!

Yelp
I found myself in Montreal's tiny Chinatown, so I had to try everything that I can possibly land my hands on, including bubble milk tea. There were a handful of options, but I went for Shuyi Tealicious due to its reviews on Yelp. Unfortunately, I was utterly disappointed. First of all, I wanted to order a non-caffeinated drink for my daughter, but they didn't have any of the drinks I chose. Why are they on the menu then? As a result, I only ordered a large milk tea with boba for myself, with my usual 30% sugar and no ice. The boba was hard and the milk tea was very milky, lacking the aroma you'd expect from quality tea. I forced my drink down but wished I gave the chance to a different store. Maybe they'd have a drink for my daughter.

Yelp
Boba tea stand in Chinatown! Their hot milk tea is very tea-forward and 100% sweet is not too sweet (I usually order my tea drinks 50%)! This is a boba milk tea stand only (no seating). You order at the window and pick up at the same window. It can get busy with a line, depending on when you go, but the line seems to move quickly. Also, standing outside means taking in the atmosphere of Montreal's Chinatown, which at least for me, was a great thing!

Yelp
Interesting flavors here and quick service. There was a bit of a line when we went in the evening, but worth it!

Yelp
Great drinks, I got a watermelon crush and a mango pomelo sago, both of which were amazing! Very fresh flavor and there was real fruit in both drinks! Drinks were not too sweet either! Would definitely recommend trying!

Yelp
I ordered a drink based on the picture with at least 4 toppings. When i got the drink, there was only pearls. I told the girl that it wasn't the right drink. This girl said "if you don't want it, throw it in the garbage". When I ask her if I could have some grass jelly on the side, or a refund, she refused to do anything about it. She started yelling at me in the middle of the street, told me to call the police, and sounded a bit crazy. Another customer in line had the same problem. Other bystanders also chimed in and said this is false advertising. I would've been satisfied with some grass jelly on the side, but this was elevated unnecessarily. After this encounter, all the customers that were lining up went somewhere else. After that, they covered up their sign with blank paper. I would not recommend this place... bad customer service and very misleading menu. I didn't want the drink and did not get a refund in the end.

Yelp
I love this place. Their mango pomelo yogurt was SOO good. I tried it on my first day and I craved it before I leave, so I went there again to get it one last time ¨ Highly recommend.

Yelp
Went to the location in Chinatown. Loved our drinks! Very good, and convenient location if you're walking through Chinatown - and great hours, open 11am-11pm. Their Mango Coconut Taro Balls drink has grown on me and become a favorite. Although, the Brûlée Bobo Milk Tea had more of a crème brûlée taste and texture at this location...and no crunchy add-in like last time at the other location, which is kinda sad because I like that. The "brûlée" is a flan-like custard in the bottom of the cup that tastes like caramelized sugar and has a nice custard texture.

Yelp
Probably the best tea/drink shop in my view. While most places raised their prices and cut down the good ingredients, this place reminds me of the old school standards. Thank you Shuyi for your service!
