Shuyi Tealicious 书亦烧仙草

it used to be my favorite tea shop in Montreal. no matter what I ordered it’s always great. The photos were taken by 2021. After Covid, the price gets higher but the toppings is less than before. I got a full cup of ice cube and the tea’s flavor is as bland as water. it doesn’t not worth the money now.

I wanted to order their signature drink with green tea milk; that’s the same one I ordered at the branch in Concordia that made me fall in love with Shuyi’s drinks, unfortunately at this branch they don’t allow to switch from milk tea to milk green tea for the signature drink; kind of disappointing. The girl suggested the mochi taro drink with milk green tea, it tasted ok.

I have been here a few times and it seems like every time they give less and less tapioca. I specifically add it to my drink and they put an insultingly low amount. I went today and they gave barely one spoonful of tapioca, and half of it was actually grass jelly (which I did not order). Although the drink itself tastes fine, I would rather buy from a different store that doesn't cheat their customer in this way.

So I’ve been going here for over a year and just realized I hadn’t given it a review yet. Well here goes; it’s my all time fave chain for bubble tea for me it’s miles above Yi Fang, Chatime, presotea, coco etc I’ve had well over 10 very different Drinks from their menu and they were all very good, I love using the app to quickly pick up boba on my way to work, the points system is great, and the free birthday drink is much appreciated. Honestly I can’t speak highly enough about them and often recommend Shuyi to friends.

Order any taro balls tea here. You won't regret it! My personal fav is taro balls milk tea and osmanthas yogurt grass tea, Both are full of flavors without too much sugar 😋 Recently they've also got meals , kinda Japanese fusion style. The fired chicken is pretty good too. Take one bite one or two while sipping taro balls tea , next level tasty!

The menu said Inform server if you have food allergies. We did but there wasn’t much help. Impatient and unfriendly service. We asked for the yakult ingredients, and the server said she doesn’t know the ingredients. It was Korean yakult but chinese made, didn’t know Ingredients but said no soy, it makes me feel like she wants to get rid of me faster.

They don’t serve “typical” bubble tea, they are more refined and well-thought It’s a great experience, I would highly recommend the Strawberry Popo or the Crème Brûlée one Their brown sugar one is a classic and is very good too! They are a bit overpriced for the quantity served though

A classic boba tea location popular with students and tourists. The staff is very hardworking and accommodating, so don’t forget to leave a tip. It gets especially busy in the afternoon, so be prepared for a wait.
