Shy Bird - South Boston

I loved the atmosphere of this place. It is cozy & very cute for a date. I was coming to the shy bird to have the cesar salad wrap, but I wasn’t aware it was only a lunchtime thing. My soon to be husband got pork parmesan which he said was OK, which I tried and it was eh. The flavor was kind of funky. I ended up getting the chipotle smash burger with some fries though. It was good, & now I am full and ready for dessert now somewhere else tonight. Thanks Shy Bird!!

Shy bird was a wonderful experience. We hosted our friend's birthday party there. They accommodated all 12 of us on a very busy night where they were having a special dinner event. We were greeted by Alex, who took care of us throughout the night. Our waiter (who I forgot the name of. My apologies), made sure all of our appetizers entrees and desserts and drinks came out consistently and on time. They also accommodated the birthday bringing out some drinks and a dessert with candles. All in all this will be my go-to place for a meal to myself or for when I'm bringing friends and family into the city for a good time. Thank you so much for providing a great night.

Went to Shybird last week and had a very nice meal. The South Boston location is super open with great outdoor seating, and the staff was super helpful. My dining partner had a delicious looking martini, the dunks (chicken nuggets), and the Mac n Cheese. The Mac was lacking flavor in my opinion, but the dunks are quite good. I went with the chicken sandwich with greens instead of fries. My only criticism about an otherwise delicious sandwich was the bread. It should have been toasted to hold better and add some crunch to the sandwich. I’d go back, but I wouldn’t rush.

This was a slam dunk, all puns intended. Ordered the dunks, flight of sauces and fries. Dunks were perfectly tender and juicy while staying crispy on the outside. All of the sauces perfectly complimented the nugs and you can’t beat rosemary french fries. Mike was serving us at the bar and was friendly and accommodating. 10/10 would recommend! Consider us the new regulars

First time visiting and I really enjoyed how chill it felt that evening. Our server was lovely, the pumpkin soup and toffee cake was AMAZING! Look forward to going back and trying more dishes.

Ive had shy bird on various occasions and the food has never missed but the drinks are very hit or miss. A couple weeks ago I ordered a matcha and it was the worst matcha I’ve ever had in my life (I also like my matcha very bitter and I asked for no sweetener and it still only tasted like caramel). Yesterday I ordered through a delivery service and again, the food was delicious but I got the salted maple pecan latte and got this (picture inserted), It’s literally a cup of milk. I think there needs to have better attention to the drinks/ drink quality. I was able to get a refund through the delivery service but I still wanted to make this psa to hopefully assist, moving forward.

I wanted an old-fashioned so badly, and I saw that this place had good drinks so me and the Wife decided to give it a spin. We took our dog with us, as the establishment said it was ok for us to bring him and we sat outside. The bees were getting in my wife's way as we sat due to all the flowers the restaurant had outside but we didn't let some bees stop us. The waiter was really good! He started off by giving us a dog bowl of water for our animal which was really kind. I ordered the old-fashioned which was very good, but could have went for a bit more alcohol in the drink. We ordered the 6pc chicken dunks with chipotle BBQ sauce and honey mustard. I enjoyed the chicken dunks as it tasted like a "knock off" of Chick-fil-A nuggets. I didn't enjoy the chipotle BBQ sauce though, tasted like death. I also ordered the Ranch Fried Chicken sandwich. It was so darn good. It tasted like a ranch salad on top of a chicken sandwich, which I had never experienced up until now. The fries were below average since they were over cooked. Overall, my only negatives would be to expand their menu a bit. There is really not much to choose from! I recommend that Ranch chicken sandwich if you decide to go! Ratings Chipotle BBQ sauce, 2 out of 10. Fries, 6 out of 10. Honey Mustard, 8 out of 10 Chicken Dunk bites, 8 out of 10. Old-fashioned, 9 out of 10. Ranch Chicken Sandwich, 10 out of 10.

Amazing food! We absolutely loved everything we ordered, and our server Alex did an incredible job. He really took great care of us and made the whole experience even better. We’ll definitely be back,great service makes all the difference.
