Chicago restaurants are offering discounts for striking teachers | Eater Chicago

I went in late for dinner. He made a fresh pizza even though I was only buying a slice and some garlic knots. He wanted my slice to be fresh! I was surprised when I got back to my hotel, he gave me two slices! Pizza was good, garlic knots were swimming in delicious melted garlic butter! Best late night stop on my trip!

Google
1000/10 This was absolutely worth the hour-long drive! The pizza here is incredible—the single slices are huge, fresh, and packed with flavor. What really stood out was the customer service. Simon, the owner was so kind and welcoming, not only to my friends and I but every person that walked in he interacted with them like family, making the experience even more special. This is hands down one of the best pizza places in Chicago. I can’t wait to come back!

MSF

Google
A good place for a New York style slice. They have other fast food items too but I've only ever gotten a pizza slice here and it's always been good. The owner is friendly and accommodating. There are a few seats but it's better to get it to-go if you have more than two people in your group. I believe you can order full pies here as well.

Google
Stopped by for a slice of pepperoni pizza for dinner and was not disappointed. The slices are $8.50 a piece but are the equivalent of two slices of pizza, so I wasn't upset by the price. I was pleasantly surprised by the pepperoni being slightly spicy. I had to dab off some of the grease and fold it in half to eat it, so you know it was good.

Google
This small little pizza shop in Wrigley/Lakeview area is probably the best around! From the specialty pizzas to the delicious burgers. The owner Simon is there regularly and is a great guy that will make you feel right at home! If you’re in the area definitely stop by !

I love going to eat, especially going out with my girlfriends and supporting small businesses. Unfortunately, this is not a small business I can recommend. Out of the 5 people I was with 3 of us ordered their boneless wings and they took about 45 minutes for our wings to be ready. We watched multiple people get served their food and finish eating before our wings were even started. I would normally look past that because, again, we love supporting small businesses and are aware they might not have the staff to support the wave of crowds. What I will not accept or excuse is the treatment of my friends as they ask for an ETA when the food will be ready because we had plans to attend my friend’s surprise birthday party. I watched a grown man double my friend’s age heckle and bully them for wanting an update on when their food would be ready after tripling the wait time promised. This is inexcusable. There is no reason to be such a bully to a group of young women. This man should not be allowed to service people, let alone young women. I wish this was not the case because no one deserves to be treated like that. The wings weren’t even that great to wait that long or to be treated that way for. They also got one of the wing orders wrong and then harassed US for the mistake. I would never recommend going to this establishment unless you’re on the brink of starvation, this was the only place available, and you’re open to older men treating you poorly.

Summer S.

Google
I had the worst experience at this establishment. The employees are rude and completely inconsiderate of other people’s time. We ordered pizza and 3 sets of wings and waited almost an hour. We were told it was a 5-10 minute wait. We arrived when it was still sunny and it was dark outside as we were leaving. When we asked why the order was taking so long the employees started to HECKEL us. I’ve never been so uncomfortable in a restaurant. These men do not know how to run a business or make females feel comfortable in a restaurant. I’ve never had a set of restaurant employees make me feel so unwelcome or be so incredibly RUDE to me. Save yourself the time and money and NEVER stop at this establishment. Edit: the wings are nothing special. An hour wait for sub par wings. Again, do yourself the favor and don’t waist your time. This was a special evening for my sister as we were celebrating her 25th birthday. Not the way to start out such an important night, Si-Pie. Second edit: I feel like it goes without saying that I feel passionately as I am editing my post for the second time. Your employees’ treatment of both myself and my friends was inexcusable. Market place is not a reason to treat people poorly. Again, I do not advocate for posting negative reviews of restaurants unless absolutely necessary. How I was treated was next to inhumane. I’m still so mad to be HECKLED AND TREATED POORLY BY THESE MEN. Do not buy anything from a place that would go out of their way to treat 5 women so poorly.

Yelp
From the moment my wife and I entered the restaurant, the owner was quick to ask us what we wanted to eat. The cheese sticks were fresh and quick, and the pizza we ordered, was good. If you're outside, in the cold, come grab a good slice of pizza (:

Yelp
I have to be honest and post this review for the sole reason that, in the future, when I want late evening pizza, remind myself--do not eat here. The thin crust pizza slices are a ridiculous $8.50, and as nice as the gentleman was at the counter, no way would I ever pay that much for a slice.
google avatar

Elizabeth B.

Yelp
They have gluten free crust available and it was delicious! The gentleman working was so incredibly kind and helpful, plus he got our order out super quickly. Definitely will be coming back.

Matthew T.

Yelp
Service was really great! Went in and ordered a couple slices late at night. The slices are pretty big so pretty worth the $7.50/each. Taste-wise, it was great especially after a little red pepper flakes/parm on the cheese and pepperoni slices I had. This place is perfect for a quick meal with chill ambiance and a lot of variety and food for everyone since they have a nice variety of apps and burgers as well. Price is also a lot better than a lot of other dedicated pizza places and location is perfect for a post-bar slice.
google avatar

Manisha P.

Yelp
So far, one of the best pizzas I've had!! Don't go with the looks of the place. The pizzas are incredible! We ordered- 1. Chicken Kabob Pizza 2. Buffalo and Parmesan garlic chicken wings Both items were really delicious! The owner Simon is super friendly and is really loyal to his customers. I've been a regular customer. He has given me discounts most of the time, which I feel I have seen this rarely in other pizza spots keeping in mind they are a local business! Would keep supporting such businesses! Definitely check this place out! Tip : They are open till midnight Mon to Thursday. On Friday & Saturday, they are open till 2 am.

Yelp
Tragic. Nasty. Junky and cluttery. Not a good first impression. Unprofessional employees arguing! This place gave me indigestion the minute I walked in the door. I debated ordering something to eat but thought better of it. Yikes!
google avatar

Velina M.

Yelp
Not a fancy place but it definitely got the job done. We were in a hurry and wanted to grab something quick to eat. Surpassingly there aren't that many options for pizza slices especially before 3 PM. I got two slices of the veggie pizza (spinach, mushrooms and onion) and they were pretty tasty, big and filling. My boyfriend ended up helping me with more than half of the second piece. He got the sausage and the the pepperoni slices. He gave them 4/5 and said that they hit the spot! Overall, we will definitely go back again. They are a decent price about $5 a piece so it's safe to say that for $10 you will get stuffed!
google avatar

Yelp
A slice shop that's worth a stop when you're in the area! Around 9PM, I started craving pizza. The type of craving where you want just one slice. I was driving through Lakeview and looked up slice shops and came across Si-Pie. The reviews were positive and it was on my way home so I decided to give it a try. The no-frills shop is designed for grabbing take-out, but you can find a couple of tables if you'd like to sit down and wait for a whole pie or eat in. The owner was at the counter and took my order. I ordered a slice of sausage pizza. The slice of pizza was large with a nice amount of cheese and sausage and the base was a sturdy thin crust. It hit the spot and was exactly what I was looking for $5. I definitely recommend if you're in the area and looking for a quick slice of sausage, pepperoni or cheese pizza!
google avatar

Julia L.

Yelp
The cheese and meat toppings (pepperoni and sausage) were pretty good. However, the dough was super rubbery yet somehow also fell apart very easily. Despite the enjoyable toppings, nothing can save a pizza without a stable foundation. Service was fast since the pizza was already pre-heated. Pretty small space inside with two tables for sitting. Has more late night vibes, so maybe the food is better during then. Would not recommend thus far.

Yelp
At about 1am on a Thursday morning, we walked in to am employee on his phone, pretending not to speak english. So I spoke Spanish and he became very loud and hostile. He clearly didn't want to bothered with actual work. He cancelled my order in front of me, yelled at us to show him the order on the phone, reached for my phone, then followed us outside to our car. 1 star only because I believe this was just a bad employee taking advantage of this business. This man has no business in hospitality.

Yelp
Si Pie Pizzeria was unexpectedly delicious. I came across Si Pie Pizzeria prior to COVID when I would run in to grab a slice and keeping on walking. Since the pandemic started I have opted to utilize the delivery or take-out options that they offer. The shop is clean and right now set up to accommodate take-out and delivery. They still offer slices of pizza if you do not want to wait for them to make you a box of pizza to go. The times I have went into the pizzeria, prior to the pandemic and during the pandemic, the staff has been friendly. Whenever I have ordered from Si Pie Pizzeria it has taken less than 30 minutes to receive my pizza - that includes from the moment I place the order to when it gets to my apartment. The pizza always arrives warm and ready to eat. Like I mentioned the pizza is unexpectedly delicious. The pizza always taste fresh and the ingredients seem like a higher quality than most pizza places that are within it's price range. I will forewarn you that the pizza is reasonably priced, in comparison to the pizzerias around here, but it is very easy to spend a ton once you add on the toppings. I made that mistake so make sure you do not order when you are starving because you can easily find yourself spending close to $50 for a large pizza.

Yelp
Ordered a large jalapeño and shawarma pizza the other night! Super tasty New York style that filled up two people perfectly and plenty of leftovers for tomorrow. Although we had a mix up with their online ordering system (Slice), we were given a call by the owner who straightened it up and was very apologetic about the situation. He did more than enough to make our opinion change about this place and offered us a discount because of the situation. We are always willing to give a place another try when we have a funky first experience, especially when they provide customer service from having an initial poor experience. We're glad this place is located closeby to us as we will definitely be back! Thanks again.

Markeya F.

Yelp
I placed an order to pick up the next day and when I went to go get it from the shop, the doors were locked. I called and no one answered the phone. I also already paid for the order.

Yelp
The marvelous Si-Pie Special Pizzeria is a northside treasure! I'm so happy they are still around! Many places come and go so it is great to see a place that's been a fixture in the neighborhood! The pizza is still amazing! The food is priced well and the family who owns it has always been very welcoming and kind! You can find Pasta, including Spaghetti, Mostaccioli, and Ravioli! They have salads, Chicken wings and fried chicken, as well as cheese sticks, Mac & cheese bite, and chicken tenders! Yay for this hometown treasure!

Yelp
I was in the area dropping off clients. I wanted to go home with a pizza and beer and chose Si-Pie Pizzeria because of the nice reviews about the place. I ordered the usual (if you follow my reviews, don't want to sound like a broken record) and 12 buffalo wings, fried extra crispy. The pizza was very good. Cracker thin crust pizza, great ingredients, nice amount of them, great sauce, the sausage and pepperoni was delicious, it was pie cut. An excellent pizza. Now, I wouldn't trek all the way here from the suburbs for it, but if I am in the area, it can be a "go to" for thin crust pizza. Now, for the wings... The buffalo wings were not fried extra crispy. I HATE soft skin on chicken. So, I can't enjoy it! Simon, the owner, ain't no Chef Ramsey because he doesn't know how to fry wings! That's for sure! But do you know what really ticked me off? I asked for 12 wings, ok? They gave me 10 flaps (meaning they gave me ONLY 2 drums)!!! Look at the pic! Are you serious??? Two stars is very fair for this catastrophe! (I am happy that Yelp is available to make small businesses accountable for unfair practices) Looks like Si-Pie Pizzeria is out to cut corners on my money! Be fair to the consumer! I didn't hurt your small business, you hurt yourself only giving me 2 drums! Yelpers, don't you expect 6 drums and 6 flaps on a 12 wings order??? I ended up throwing them away when I found this out and them being fried wrong! Well, since I have pic proof I have one thing to say... "Only don't tell me you're innocent. Because it insults my intelligence and makes me very angry." A quote from "The Godfather"

Richard P.

Yelp
I just went in for a slice of cheese at lunch. It was ok at best. It didn't seem fresh (though it was 12:30 or 1:00 on a Saturday, so it should have been). The crust was quite hard and fairly flavorless. (I've had a "cracker" crust that's been great and maybe that's what this was supposed to be, but it didn't quite make it). I would definitely not go back and I feel a little bad about it.

Yelp
Arrived in town late and were sad to see most places closed. We found this place by default and glad we did. The pizza was hot, the toppings were plentiful and the man making the pizza was super nice. Try it if you are in the area!

Yelp
Out for a long walk around the neighborhood during this covid time it can be difficult to find a good small bite to eat these days. So much is shutdown or temporarily shuttered it's not like it used be on the Northside of Chicago in East Lakeview. There used to be any number of spots to grab a quick bite and run. I just happened by Si-Pie Pizzeria on the corner of Broadway and Cornelia. I used to live right around the corner in this neighborhood for several years when it was a bit dicier. I frequented once or twice a pizzeria that used to be here I believe was called Pie Hole back in the day. Their pizza at best was mediocre that's all I can say about that. So I stepped into Si-Pie Pizzeria not expecting much other than sustenance to afford me a bit of energy. I mean how bad could it be right? When I walked in the door the kid behind the counter, Victor, I came to find out his name is, was super friendly and welcoming. I know how hard it is to be positive these days and it's usually much less so in many small eateries but not here. No, Victor was welcoming and smiling. I looked around a bit. It's a small place but very clean and it looks like they likely do a mean take and delivery business. The delivery guy had just returned and he actually looked happy as they were laughing and joking. That in itself is nice to see, a happy staff. I ordered a slice of sausage pizza from the rack. It ran about 5.50 WITH a can of pop. That's a good deal in anybodies book. Now like I said, I didn't expect anything earth shattering or near so, I just wanted to swallow a slice and get out. I sat at a little window side two-top to bite into this pie. I will you tell what I might have been starving but I know a good slice when I taste one and this slice of sausage was hands down one of the best I've had in ages. It's not some chinzy lil' overpriced slice like too many places offer but instead a good sized slice of pizza. I was supremely surprised and satisfied. For openers, it was hot enough to eat and enjoy and taste the flavors and ingredients without burning the roof of my mouth. That's always a winner. It was thin pizza like legit thin so not to be all over-doughy and heavy. Light like it was meant to be and crisp as well as a good taste to the dough which is often overlooked in pizza. Too many places have simply bland dough. Not here. It was dressed with a decent amount of quality cheese, but again not overpowering nor was it dripping off the sides, that complimented the tasty dough. The sausage was plentiful and nicely sliced bite sized with a slight spice to it as real good Italian sausage should taste. The slice was great I'll tell ya. They definitely use quality ingredients here you can't get that kind of pizza on the cheap, no way, no how. Did I mention it came with a can of pop? Old school for sure. During school time the kids probably mob this joint. I asked Victor if he had a bathroom and again expected him to understandably say no. A bathroom is another thing hard to cone by these days. They used to be everywhere but now you get the brush off even if you are a paying customer. But I get it, it's scary with this covid business. But Victor ain't scared, he pointed it just like that and said "help yourself". I'm a bathroom guy and a clean one speaks volumes about the restaurant and people who take care of it. Their bathroom is spotless I mean like I wanted to just hang out in it for a while spotless. That says everything about a place. After I got out Victor and I got to talking pizza. This kid knows his stuff. He's the face of this business it seems. He filled me in on the history of the place and their other locations without skipping a beat. They make everything fresh here including the dough and you can tell it's true. Their is a talent to making pizza and not just anyone has it. You gotta care about it and it shows he does. I'm sure they have a recipe but it takes a talented person to put some love into that recipe. My cousin owned a joint and it really is a talent. Victor has that talent. He makes a righteous pizza in addition to his excellent customer service skills and believe these are skills. Natural or acquired they are skills. I'll be ordering a pizza for dinner tomorrow believe me it's that good. Don't take my word for it just get over there and taste it. Just make sure you wear your mask like you're supposed to or you ain't gettin' in. Don't be that guy. Si-Pie Pizzeria is my new place in the hood so spread the word.

Sarah-Marie C.

Yelp
Kick ass little hole in the wall byob pizza spot, can't recommend it more. Lots of options, by the slice or specialty pies.

Yelp
So I once happened to had the best freaking fried chicken here. It was so good like literally one of the best I've ever had. But u fortunately it only happened once. I had gone back 2 more times at different hour but I haven't been able to get that same fried chicken again. You will always be in my memory oh great fried chicken. Other than that, they have pizza by the slice, their freshly made pizza is delicious and reasonably priced. Simon always seems to be enjoying his work, so you know you are getting food from the right place. Also they have curly fries, they call it fries on the menu. I think they are the only place in lakeview with curly fries. I could be wrong tho but If you want curly fries...

Greg B.

Yelp
I love having this pizza place around the corner from me. Great pizza, crust is wonderful and the toppings are fresh. The other menu items are fantastic too. Try the sandwiches! Thanks, Simon for having such a great addition to our neighborhood.

Yelp
The food is great and the customer service is usually great. I like to think of myself as a regular. I was waiting for an order tonight and I almost considered leaving. Tonight I witnessed the taller employee swing at another employee. Causing the employee to walk out and I don't blame him. I would have too. That was so unprofessional. I get things can become stressful and overwhelming but that doesn't make it ok to resort to violence. I hope the employee that left is ok and that everything turns out fine because I really enjoy this place.

Yelp
So like 2 years ago I moved into Lakeview, shortly thereafter I'm walking down the street and some young cute guy stops me on the street asking if I liked pizza. Of course, is this a trick question? Like when you go to the grocery and they ask you if you found everything ok, like "why are you hiding stuff from me"? I'm a chef, I lived and worked in Italy, pizza is my love language! He insisted I take a slice on him, delicious!!! Fast forward Christmas Eve Eve -31° windchill, 'ordered a 16" pepperoni, dude! it was a religious experience, absolutely perfect!!!!

Tash F.

Yelp
Friendly service. Pizza was very good and they have pizza available by the slice. Would visit again

Karrie Z.

Yelp
Good pizza, love the way half and half is served. Great, friendly service. Really enjoyed ourselves

Yelp
The thin crust Italian beef was great. Great flavor and texture in the crust and the ingredients were clearly solid quality. The owner and staff were also super friendly and accommodating. Great pizza experience all around.

Yelp
Great food and even greater service. My friend and i managed to lose our car in the city and were stuck outside for hours walking downtown chicago past midnight on st paddys day. I had fallen and was bleeding and very injured and cold and the man inside allowed us to sit and provided us with water and pizza and made sure we got home safe. thank you for everything i will be coming back soon.

Yelp
My favorite slice shop in Chicago by far, super tasty, inexpensive, open late, and the owner is an absolute gem. Pizza was 10/10, the fries are also super fresh and yummy. they were out of pepperoni when I came in but the owner made a fresh pepperoni pizza in 10 min just for my 2 slices. I wanted to tip but he wouldn't let me smh.

Yelp
Trying to order pizzas for a group can be a challenge (everyone wants something different). I am so grateful to Si Pie! Not only was ordering a breeze (the person I spoke to knew exactly what I was dealing with), but our pizzas arrived hot, correct, and on time. I had a few special requests and everything was perfect. My group was thrilled which made me look good, always a plus. I am so pleased with everything, I am placing the same order next Friday. Thank you Si Pie, you really made me look great!
google avatar

Christopher V.

Yelp
I think Si-Pie has potential considering the friendly service and ingredients. The problem is the ovens. ..they just aren't hot enough to develop the flavors properly. They use one of those conveyor toaster ovens that doesn't quite get the job done. Those are better suited for toasting bagels. Purchasing real pizza ovens would be an astronomical capital investment and would likely result is higher prices, but would make all the difference.

Kelsey S.

Yelp
It's time I edit this. Since my first visit, Sie-Pie has risen on my take-out restaurant list. Coming home from Wrigley bars? Pizza by the slice is a win. You get a giant slice that's easily 1/3 of a whole pizza. Even another take-out order was better than the last. Everything was prepared correctly and ready to go on time. The crust is still a bit of a disappointment, but I've accepted it's just a different style (thin, pretty flour-y and crunchy). While it's not the BEST pizza I've had, Sie-Pie is a solid option for delivery or take out. You can even dine-in if you have a small group- a few high tops are available in the front.

Becca C.

Yelp
Great quick bagel spot! Walked over from a hotel baby Wrigley field and it hit the spot. They have rainbow bagels and made the scrambled eggs fresh.
google avatar

MacKenzie F.

Yelp
Disappointed overall. The pizza was pretty greasy and the crust was flavorless. Toppings tasted good. Garlic knots were not very garlicy and lacked flavor as well. The Mac and cheese bits were not toasted enough and tasted kind of soggy. I did appreciate the 20% off coupon and the excellent following of CDC guidelines with masks, sealed for your protection stickers, and option to pay online before going for pick up.

Luis D.

Yelp
We went to the location in East Lakeview around 1:25am. The person was an older gentleman who was at the front desk. He gave an attitude for asking for a vegetarian pizza because he said that he already only us all he had was sausage and pepperoni. After we told him we didn't ask for an attitude, we just left and as my partner turn his head, that same person(the older gentleman at Si-Pie Pizzeria) gave us the finger. It my first time there and with people like that this place will not last long in my opinion. I told my friends not to go there anymore based on our experience especially with that guy. We should have recorded it and put our interaction on FB.

Yelp
Very typical hole-in-the wall Chicago pizza joint, and I mean that in the best way possible. As it was located close to Wrigleyville, I actually ate there twice over a weekend while in town for a Cubs game. There are multiple menus available online, so ordering through the Slice app was a little confusing at times. The first night I ordered delivery to the hotel. I wanted to try shawarma, because I've never had it, but apparently it's only available as a topping on a whole pie. So, I got an Italian beef sub and extra fries. It arrived very quickly, but they didn't include any napkins. No big deal. The fries were surprisingly good, and the sub was slightly dry. I would've loved a little container of jus for dipping purposes. The night of the game, my brother and I walked to their location because they were open late, and we were craving pizza to soak up some of those $10 ballpark beers. They seem to specialize in tavern style pizza by the slice with a cracker crust. It was a little greasy, but not terribly, and the garlic knot I had was really good. Overall, they have good service, tons of character, authenticity, and they're inexpensive for the area. Even despite some minor issues, I'd go there again without hesitation.

Yelp
Walked in here for a late night slice around 9:30pm on Sunday and NONE of the staff (3 of them) were wearing masks. On my way out I mentioned to them that they aren't wearing masks and they made an excuse that "oh we've been wearing them all night we're just taking a break" blah blah. That's not how this works. Especially if you're serving people food. I'll be filing a 311 report shortly.

Yelp
Overall: Good, relatively cheap pizza is the staple of this small joint. Definitely worth a look if you want something different than Domino's or the Papa. The good: The pizza was great, filling, and fresh. Ate it there so it was obviously piping hot out of the oven. Took awhile, they were busy. Service was very friendly. The bad: Not a ton of seating if you do decide to eat in. Place is kinda dirty. They were busy, but the pizza took just a tad long.Tables were small. Atmosphere: 7/10 Service: 9/10 Food: 8.5/10

Yelp
This is an updated review as I ordered a pie and garlic knots for takeout from them last night. I ordered a large Italian Beef pizza and garlic knots. The pizza had italian beef, italian sausage, and giardinera. Let's start with the pros. My pizza was ready for pick up at 5:45pm when I ordered it about 10am in the morning as I decided to order a pizza for the NBA draft. I liked the mozzarella cheese and their tomato sauce. The tomato sauce is sweeter and it is well balanced throughout the pie. The Italian sausage was good as well. Onto the cons. Si-Pie's pizza is supposed to be thin and crispy. It was nowhere close to being crispy and it was even soggy. I'm assuming it was soggy due to the giardinera and maybe the grease. The Italian Beef was pretty much flavorless and I even had to check to see if it was on the pie. I also ordered 3 garlic knots and I liked the mix of garlic, parmesan, and butter. However, the knots were cold not even warm and the marinara sauce came out of the refrigerator. I live right up the street near Wrigley off of Sheffield, which is less than a 5 min walk and there is no way the garlic knots should have been cold in that amount of time to walk. I had to actuallt microwave them. So ordering a pie from Si-Pie was a miss. But I do enjoy their gigantic slice and a drink for $5, to give some competition to Bacci's, Dimo's and Big G's.

Yelp
Usually fast delivery and the order correct, this time they were over 30 minutes later than the delivery window and didn't deliver my soda with the combo. Guess the good will at delivering orders is over during Corvid 19. I will probably not order from Si-Pie again. The food is good, but getting sloppy is not. Bye. Update: Thanks for the quick response Simon. But GrubHub refers to your restaurant as the delivers or at least mentions to contact your restaurant if a customer, excuse me, GrubHub customer needs ask about their order. By the way, I tried calling 4 times and no one answered ((773) 360-1862). Whoever delivered to me the previous 4 times not only made the GrubHub delivery window, they were early. Thanks for your response. Good luck to you and your business.

Yelp
This local pizza place is a gem! The pizza is fresh and cheesy and always hits the spot. It's the only pizza i crave! The owner takes care of locals in need.

Yelp
When my go-to thin crust pizza place (Cafe Luigi) was too busy for Super Bowl Sunday, I pivoted to a place I had bookmarked: Si-Pie. I ordered a large cheese and a large pepperoni. I'll say that the pepperoni curled up on the sides, providing that "meat cup of grease" experience that will either delight or disgust you. Beyond that, I think the pizza was extraordinarily mediocre. I think the mark of a great thin crust pizza is when you want to finish the crust when you get to the end of your slice. Because Si-Pie's crust is exceedingly bland and dry, I discarded mine. If you're feeling like rocking the thin crust experience, check out Cafe Luigi. It's superior on every level. As long as it's not the Super Bowl, you should be able to get it in a reasonable time frame.

Yelp
Was a fan of the broadway location so decided to check out there Sheffield location and must say I was so impressed. Walked right in and was welcomed by the owner (always great when a owner remembers his regulars) and tried the Italian pizza and loved it. What blew me away was the outdoor seating at the Sheffield location. Already planning a cubs game and after party at Si Pie pizza because of it. If you're a garlic lover, the garlic knots are a must try!!!!!

Yelp
The moment you walk in... its home! Greeted and taken care of like you were family. Fast and friendly service than provides a superior pizza made to order and never fails to satisfy your appetite! By the slice or better yet a whole pizza. This place does not fail to provide delicious pizza!!! A must Chicago! Thank you Simon!! Just perfect!!!

Yelp
Yes, we live in Chicago - the Home of the Deep Dish Pizza. And deep dish can be really amazing! The buttery crust, the cheese on the bottom locking in the crispness of the crust from the amazing sauce, and the thick layer of classic sausage makes Chicago deep dish one of the quintessential draws of the city. But Si-Pie is different. And wonderfully so. Si-Pie is the delicious antithesis of the Chicago Deep Dish phenomenon. Thin, crispy, delicious and HUGE slices of pizza. They combine a crispy cracker crust with really great ingredients, and a killer sauce combine to make a great pie. The staff is great, and will seriously bend over backwards to give you a great experience. I've never had anything other than pizza here so I can't comment on any other foods. Frankly, I'm not sure when I will, because their pizza is frankly great. The pizza is great, the staff is awesome and the price is right. Add on that they are open late (if you've been out and about) and Si-Pie is a serious winner.

Yelp
This place has a lot of good reviews so I was super disappointed when I tried the pizza especially a $30 one! This was one of the worst pizzas I've ever had. It was very soggy and possibly undercooked. There were no spices anywhere to be found - probably the most bland pizza ever. The crust was tasteless and soggy. The one thing they did well was the toppings were generous but again no seasonings at all. You are better off going anywhere else or just pickup a frozen pizza.

Yelp
Super sad, I think they have new owners! We ordered from them recently and nothing was good and their prices went up! So much for that neighborhood pizza joint. Not to mention... it was a dad daughter duo and they needed more help! Yikes! In REPLY TO THE OWNER: I'm simply not going to change my review because you think I should... that's the whole point of yelp to review places regardless. We have been to your business several times and ALWAYS support local over large restaurant franchises but I can tell you... your pizza was not the same...it tasted COMPLETELY different to the point where we had a slice and a half and threw the rest out. It's not my fault you can't find good help, it isn't my fault that your prices went up and that I waited over an hour for our order. Nor is it my fault that your pizza didn't taste good when I know what it SHOULD taste like. Maybe if you worked on your reply to people that have negative reviews I would have reconsidered but instead of offering to fix the situation you just simply want me to adjust my review. That sir, I will not do.
