Siam Imperial Thai Kitchen

Always the best place to get come and enjoy the food. We love the Tom Kha soup. This time, we tried so many different foods. And all of them taste amazing with friendly service. We tried the Duck Tamarind, Salmon Cho Chee & LAMB SHANK MASSAMAN.

During our first trip to San Diego in early November, my family and I had the pleasure of dining at this wonderful restaurant. The food was absolutely delicious, with vibrant flavors and FRESH ingredients. The atmosphere was very relaxing and welcoming. When our family reflects back on our trip to SAN and all the places we visited, our four children highlight this restaurant as their top pick. Honestly, I can't blame them. Not only do I attribute it as a testament to how flavorful the food was but also to their staff– they made us feel like family, going above and beyond to ensure we all had a fantastic experience. Overall, it was a perfect blend of great tasting food, warm hospitality, wonderful atmosphere and unforgettable memories!

My good friend Jerry asked me out to lunch today. Now I enjoy good Thai food now and then so was curious how Siam Imperial would stack up because as with all cuisines, it can be hit or miss. Well, let me tell ya, the lunch I had was simply amazing! It was the grilled salmon mango avocado salad. The salmon was grilled to mouth watering perfection, complimented by asparagus, avocado, mango, chopped cilantro, shallot, bell pepper and strawberries with a lime juice dressing. Every single ingredient was fresh as could be and the variety of textures and flavors was something I rarely experience. It gave me, dare I say, a euphoric feeling akin to what those who dabble in illicit substances must feel, except I didn’t feel paranoid, just completely content and satisfied. Yes, all was right with the world and I will be back! Keep up the great quality and service Siam Imperial, you are a gem in I.B.

It was nice for my 1st time. Some of our group got their drinks right away, some of us didn't. Same with the food. So some food was cold waiting for everyone to be able to eat together.

Food was okay but service was mediocre. Our waitress walked abruptly away in the middle of ordering without saying anything. She came back a few minutes later. Twice we received food that wasn't ours. No refill offered on drinks, we were never asked if everything was okay. No smiles. No thanking or saying goodbye when we left. Non of the staff looked happy. .

Loving coming here! Food is amazing, owner and workers nice, and fast service. My favorite Thai place in San Diego. Their Tom Kha soup is so good! I also love their curries and the tamarind duck.

I am ashamed that I have not been here before today. Many of my friends and co-workers have mentioned this restaurant for years and that I should try it. It was extremely easy to order for pick up online. I chose the Drunken Noodles with beef, Asparagus and Avocado Salad. Tom Kha, and Yellow Curry with chicken. Pick up time was visible and trackable on the ordering website. It was ready for me 3 minutes earlier than expected. There is no private parking lot, only street parking, but i found a spot right away. I entered the restaurant and everyone was so friendly and welcoming right away. The place had just opened 30 minutes prior, and had one table occupied, with 2 pick up orders ready. I took my meal home and my goodness, everything was delicious! Spice levels just right, cilantro notes and aromatic lemongrass, coconut all dancing on my tongue. Thanks to fellow yelpers for the Asparagus and Avocado Salad recommendation! I loved the sweet savory, tangy, char grilled combination of it all. My only disappointment was that I hadn't come here sooner.

This has been my husband and I's 2nd time coming here and it definitely will not be the last. The food is absolutely delicious. We tried out the larb for the first time here and it was so yummy. We got the spice level at 7. The spicy pan fried noodle with shrimp is really good as well. I love how the noodles weren't sticking together compared to other Thai restaurants I've been to. The noodles were that good that I even ate the vegetables. We also got the Thai tea boba and it was really amazing. I love how the boba was made just right that they were soft and weren't sticking together. The people at this place are super nice and welcoming. They greeted us right away and were seated immediately too. It helped that we got there when it wasn't busy. I want to thank the waitress for giving us the larb recommendation and to order sticky rice with it because it was absolutely the best comb. I never knew how to properly eat larb and I'm so grateful that she took time to educate us on it. They played music that didn't make the ambiance noisy whatsoever. I was able to make conversation with my husband without us screaming at each other which was great! Cannot wait to come back again and try out something new on the menu! Food was very fresh. Very authentic. Not too much salt or sugar. Veggies snapped when you ate them. Great quality meat in the dishes. Ambiance was cozy and clean. Service was friendly and accommodating. This will now become our regular Thai place.

This place is pretty good, had pananag curry with coconut rice & pineapple fried rice. Was so hungry I forgot to take photos of my food. The staff was nice and attentive as well & the food didnt take long to come out.

Fantastic spot for a quick lunch while in the Imperial Beach area. This was today's pick of choice for me to meet up with a long time colleague. The service is excellent and the food very flavorful. Today's order included Chicken Satay and the pictured Pad Woon Sen with shrimp and chicken. Wonderfully done!

The food was good. Portions are a little on the smaller compared to the other Thai food places I've been to. The service was good. I had to park on the street not sure if they have their own parking. What I did have a problem with is they charged me 1 dollar for a half a lime. REALLY?? I stopped going to Noodles, Noodles the other Thai place down the street for the same reason. They're always trying to charge you extra for condiments. It's not like we load up on them maybe other people do but we certainly don't and and I usually order about 100 bucks worth of food. The Thai place up in Linda Vista (the former Sab-E-Lee) would include limes on their dishes. Well I hope the buck was worth it to you. Won't be coming back here again that's for sure.

Got this doordashed so I can't speak on the dining experience, but the Pad See Ew was delicious! The sauce especially was super yummy and I would recommend it!

Pad see ew was pretty good, I got the tofu version and the tofu and broccoli were excellent but I thought the sauce was just okay

A local favorite! The food never disappoints, and everyone who works here is so kind. I have only eaten here at night once, and the window seats are lovely. Take out is always a win. My favorites are the Tom Kha, Fresh Rolls, and various Pad Thai dishes. You can't go wrong

Arrived for an early dinner and left a little underwhelmed. Not dissatisfied, underwhelmed based upon the number of reviews and the 4.6 rating. We ordered a spicy noodle dish which in Virginia is named "drunken noodle". My wife with Tofu and me with pork. The menu had 3 spice options. My wife ordered 1 and I ordered 3 which was supposed to be "fire". This is on their menu. As our food was coming out, I heard her tell someone else that the spicy menu goes to 10 and not 3. My dish was not spicy. We get the check and mine is listed as a "1" and hers as a "2". Underwhelmed. We ordered a sampler appetizer and I was disappointed with the ribs. I didn't care for the taste and the fact the ribs were overcooked. They did accommodate a modification as it came with shrimp but my wife is allergic. I asked for one item and they declined but offered an additional spring roll instead. I don't understand why but it is their restaurant and their choice. All in all, the food was good but my wife's tofu wasn't prepared the way it is in Virginia. In VA, they deep or pan fry the tofu, then add it. Here was was added at the end, and didn't have time to absorb any flavor and was a soft texture you don't get when frying it. Good meal but I would likely try another Thai restaurant before going back. I will say the staff were nice. 2 people from the dining room and 2 from the kitchen said goodbye as we were leaving. That gesture is what brought it up to a 3.

My fiancé and I live right around the corner and we absolutely love this place! We've been ordering from Siam pretty regularly for the last year or so, we take a nice little 5 min walk down to the restaurant and they're always so sweet and kind at the to-go counter. I love their Tom Kha soup (it's so rich and flavorful) and my fiancé usually orders curry, he says it's some of the best he's ever had. I also really like how they have a spice level to choose from when ordering (as a spice lover I always choose fire) since a lot of other Thai places don't have the option when ordering takeout. I recommend this place to everyone and always order it whenever we have family visiting, it's a perfect feel good food after a long day out in San Diego!

I've passed by this place several times and finally decided to give it a try. I was not disappointed and actually enjoyed the cuisine, which reminded me of my trips to Thailand before the tsunami. I definitely will be back to try more entrees & appetizers.

First time trying this place in all the years I've lived close by. I ordered something I never usually would.... Get the avocado asparagus salad Let me say it louder for the People in the back! GET THE AVOCADO ASPARAGUS SALAD!!! Literally 10/10 I also ordered Tom yum soup, which is my go to soup for Thai... and what I got was very different, not the type of soup I was expecting... it was delicious but not your typical Tom yum soup. Honestly you could have served me maruchan with no lemon or hot sauce and I would have still been happy with my avocado asparagus salad!!! Will come back forever just for that

Food outstanding, service was good. Ambiance very nice...Only complaint was parking not so good. But we enjoyed ourselves and loved the food.

Went tonight for dinner. Happy hour on Saturday love that. And they had a dinner special for $18.95(something like that) I was stuffed. Tom kha was delicious and so was the garden salad dressing. I'm glad I did both :D

We ordered Kra pao pictured as minced chicken that is not what it was it was chicken breast pieces. The taste was okay. Pad see ew was not good at all. It was bland and mushy. For the price and taste of the food - I don't recommend there's better around.

I work down the street and my coworkers and I try to frequent this wonderful establishment at least once a week. The service is great, the food is delicious and consistent, and the owner/ staff are extremely welcoming!

Made a reservation online for 6 people and when we arrived the table was all set and ready. The staff were very welcoming to our entire party, and the food was delicious! Will definitely come back for more. Thank you for the awesome food and service!

My son and I always come here for our Mother/Son Lunch date and this is probably our 3rd lunch date together and first time with his Dad and we all love it!! Max loves his cute lunch combo that comes with kids drink - perfect kid size plate. His favorite was Shrimp Fried Rice!! I love my Panang Curry with Salad and there was this lady who works there are soooooooo sweet and a great service there!!! Please come by and you won't be disappointed!!

Food was amazing. The ladies took care of us. Our little guy enjoyed his food as well to. Place is great for family and for just hanging out.

Best Thai food I've had and luckily it's an area I like to visit. Service was phenomenal and flavours were perfect . Definitely a place I will visit again soon!

Food was ample and tasty and put in a box and that weighed about 3lbs for a pad Thai entree I got medium spice and that allowed enough base heat to let me add some sriracha. The lady answering the phone was very kind and helpful to my mother who had lots of questions. Pickup was quick and painless. Only reason not to get a 5 was that putting that mondo portion in that tiny container makes the pad Thai mush out . Still a very flavorful mush. I'd recommend Siam to everyone who enjoys a good curry or a happy hour beer. Look forward to trying more of their menu

We had an awesome dinner last nite at Siam Imperial Thai Kitchen. Food was excellent, service was very good and the ambiance is very nice. Highly recommend the combination plates. I had the yellow curry with shrimp and my hubby had the roast duck red curry. We'll be back next time we're in town.

We ordered take out tonight. Spicy fried noodles (aka drunken noodles) with Beef medium heat and yellow curry with chicken also medium heat. Total came to 35 bucks after tip. The noodles were delicious! Would go back for that alone! The yellow curry was a little on the bland side. The spice was there but the sauce was thin and not a lot of chicken. I'd probably try a red curry next time.

Nice little restaurant. It looks family owned and operated. They take care of you and the food is quite good, especially the spicy noodles and duck. I called around several Thai places and if they offered duck, it was mock duck. This one has duck duck. Give it a try

In my opinion, Siam Imperial Thai Kitchen is just okay. Going in, my first impression of the place was a good one. The interior looked clean and well lit, with nicely spaced seating and cute umbrella decor on the ceiling. Looking at the menu, I was a bit intimidated by the price of the food here. But non-the-less I tried to keep my hopes up. Reading previous reviews, some say that the price to food portion isn't the best, and with the experience with my food I would agree. The price for the curry was uneasily stunning and the presentation was disappointing. The only thing that I felt was okay was the eggplant stir fry. The eggsrolls (or deep fried spring rolls) weren't the best compared to the other options I've tasted before. The food came out in a timely manner and the server was patient with us. The flavor of the food was rich, but to me personally it was too much. I got a duck curry and the flavor was different from the one that I have at my home location. Overall the place was okay, but if I was in town again, I more than likely wouldn't visit again.

Absolutely the best gourmet Thai restaurant in San Diego. Authentic, excellent personal service. Real Thai chef. Beautiful music and relaxing and comfortable atmosphere. Highly recommended this restaurant for novice and connoisseur of Thai food.

This isn't just the best Thai in IB, it's the best in SD. Give me the grilled asparagus, shrimp & avocado salad every day, please. Red curry. Panang. Thom Kha whatever.. all the absolute yummiest.

Regularly order food from this restaurant. Love the selection and family ambiance. Prices are touch on the upper side and they charge for sauces when you eat it but don't when you have same meal to go. Puzzled by that, but for Imperial Beach it's good quality restaurant. Service is attentive and responsive.

I had the pumpkin curry. First time I've had a curry with pumpkin and it was phenomenal and full of flavor. Would love to try this again the next time I visit San Diego! :)

When it comes to sitting down and eating Thai food this place is one of my favorites. Restaurant is very clean and open spacious seating. The staff is all friendly and attentive with any needs. Food is very large servings and perfect for sharing. I did the high spice level and it was too spicy so recommended getting a high spice level if you love spicy food. Pad Thai and yellow curry were amazing. The pad see yew was average but nothing special or not better than other places.

Clean inside. Fast service . Food is delicious. Spacious and modern mixed with traditional Thai decor. The sampler appetizers were more than enough for 2 people.

Excellent food! Nice ambiance. Happy hour for alcohol is til 7pm. We had the Pad Thai with duck and Asparagus and Mushrooms with shrimp. If you get the "Special" the meals come with soup or salad, rice, wontons, fried shrimp, and egg roll. Very nice! Well priced!

Oh man, let me gush a minute. Walk in the door, greeted with hello and smiles. The restaurant is clean. Well thought out decor. The food, seriously, is the best in Southbay, and (I dare to say San Diego), and I've had it all. I love Thai cuisine, and this is the closest to Thailand I've had. Eat in. Enjoy the ambiance. Try the asparagus shrimp salad, spicy seafood basil spaghetti noodle, Crying Tiger. Salmon ChooChee, and yes, their wine and beer list. Staff are on point. And a pleasure.

I have been to many Thai restaurants and this is my Favorite one. This place is located in Imperial Beach, it is a small place but big in Flavors on their foods and good service from people who works here. Win and Kate are amazing to manage customer service and the quality of food here. Our favorite here is their TOM KHA , a very popular Thai soup. Their Tom Kha is so delicious that sometimes we have to order 2 sets of them. We never leave this place without having Tom kha in our orders. We always come here and that they probably already know what we gonna order when we come. Our visit here the other day since just me and my husband we ordered : * TOM KHA with Chicken and Shrimp. *SPICY SPAGHETTI - with seafood * PAD WOON SEN - a delicious Thin noodles * DUCK FRIED RICE, so so good fried rice , so flavorful . When my kids are with me we also order their *FRESH ROLLS *SIAM CHICKEN WINGS - its a Chicken wings flavors with Thai chili sauce . *PAD THAI Whoever the Chef here it's a big Thumbs up for maintaining the good food here. They also maintain well the cleanliness of their place. There's nothing bad I can see in this place, all good from food and service here. This is the type of place we come back, again and again, to dine in. I highly recommend this place when it comes to delicious Thai Food !

Covid review: Everyone was following social distancing from staff to customers. Staff was really friendly and wearing masks. I found this place during the beginning of covid, one of the few Thai places that sells Sticky Rice with Mango all year round. By far they have one of the best ones I have tried. The mango to rice ratio is perfect, you'll have both in every bite. I keep coming here specifically for this.

Wow! This place surprised me, had a really good offer from Postmates and decided to order their asparagus avocado salad, crying tiger and some steak. So freaking good! I'd love to go to this place In person and try more of their food.

They have awesome lunch specials. My husband and I really enjoy the combo plates and the great service. A great local restaurant. There's plenty of tables and cute inside.

So I'm just going to start by saying this.... I am new to Imperial Beach [5 months strong!] And this is now my GO TO THAI PLACE, and I need a go to this place no matter where I live! I ordered the pad thai with beef and the chicken curry. Pad thai beef was absolutely delicious. The flavor they have going here is honestly perfect for me. The noodles are more chopped up so it is easier to eat. You have to try this! The chicken curry is my favorite thai dish in general. It has a good kick but I could definitely go hotter. The flavor is there and they give a great amount of chicken to potato ratio. Love you for this because I like the potatoes just a bit more than the chicken lol! The steam rice is always good. I am including the steam rice because not every Asian restaurant I have gone to has good rice. And being a filipina myself, I know good rice and they have it here. Now I ordered take out. I placed my order online but it's only for pickup which is totally fine. Parking is a little stiff but it's the beach area. When u walk in the vibes are nice and I dig the ambiance and style. It has a classy meets casual feel. The staff is always so nice. I usually deal with the same lady at the counter and she's always a pleasure. I think she might be a manager or owner or something but she's always there when I pick up. Next time I definitely want to go in and sit for dinner. I'll soon update with pics...
