Traveling food porn update. This is the reigning champ for best burger in Fargo, and one of the best food stops so far. In fact I've eaten here twice because it's so good.
Let's start with the atmosphere. If you are a gearhead, be it rat rods, old trucks, or bikes. You will feel at home as soon as you see the building. If you could careless about those things, you still will find amazing, funky, gourmet burgers AND some of the best wings, this guy has had.
I went with their signature "Sickies Burger". As my server proudly pronounced, "We aren't too big on veggies around here." This thing is a heart attack master piece, in all the best ways. Thick cut, smoked, peppered bacon, onion rings, America cheese, BBQ sauce, pulled pork, a perfectly seasoned beef patty, and Frank's Red Hot just because. It is a work of art between a bun.
Now the wings. I went "boneless". What can I say except "they have more meat". These however weren't the usual "Wing Street" more breading than meat, precooked crap. These were large chunks of lightly breaded and fried to perfection hunks of amazing. The sauce and dry spice options are just as funk as the burgers. I tried two sauces on my order of 10. PB&J and Jameson sauces. PB&J is a thick slightly sweet peanut sauce that gave a bit of Asian flair. It had a little bit of tang to finish it off. The Jameson is named due to the famous whiskey used in it's making. Just a nice sweet barbeque sauce with a familiar background note.
Last but not least, the service. Everyone is super friendly, and genuinely seem like they want to be here.
Of all the burger joints I've dined on, Sickies is the current front runner for champ.
