Had the Inferno Burger and it was 🔥. Crispy fries and a burger that won't overwhelm; will have you biting for more. Good crowd on a week night. Highly recommend if your in town on business to relax and enjoy good grub.

Stopped in for an early dinner. Excellent beer selection. Diverse menu. Food was delicious and service was great. Prices are reasonable. Will definitely go back! (Been multiple times now and great experience each visit! One of my favorite spots now!)

The bartender Brian provided out of this world service on Saturday. Even in busy moments he was attentive and composed. Great beer selection will be back!

Google
Side Bar has some great options for brunch! I went with the breakfast burrito and it was a very large portion of food. My friends got french toast, breakfast tacos, and sweet potato taters, which were all really good. They also have some boozy gummy bears if you're looking for a grown up snack!

Google
I went to side bar for their happy hour and let’s just say I couldn’t be more pleased with my experience. I had Ashleigh as my server and she was the most helpful kind soul. She not only got whatever we needed extremely fast I also saw her helping many other tables in the same speed which is extremely impressive for the crowd they had . She made us feel so welcomed and had so many good laughs! on top of the excellent service the food was so good!! I will definitely be coming back to side bar soon great place!!

Google
My husband and I love Sidebar, we had another great experience. The food is amazing and drinks are delicious. I had a grilled chicken sandwich & brussel sprouts as an appetizer soooo good. My husband had the shaved ribeye that’s his favorite , it’s really good. I highly recommend Sidebar.

Google
Nice house wine. Definitely recommended the tuna appetizer. Fantastic service on a beautiful night. Anna made it a 6 star experience ✨️

Yelp
Really enjoyed my experience here. We went for brunch and it was a nice chill vibe, even with a bunch of people watching the game. Our server was so nice and helpful. I got a chef's special pasta which was very good. My husband got the breakfast burrito which we also both really liked. Portions were huge, neither of us could finish. Would come again!

Yelp
Made the mistake of looking for a place to eat lunch downtown on a busy, chilly Saturday! Fortunately, Side Bar was able to seat the two of us and I'm so glad we went. I'm usually a fan of American-style pub food and vibes, and this was no exception. I appreciated that Side Bar had more/different things in their menu than I was expecting, starting with their go-to side being sweet potato tots instead of french fries. So creative! I opted for the piri piri sandwhich with the tots as my side. It was messy, but delicious! I haven't had chicken piri-piri in a long time. Definitely one of those sandwiches where the chicken breast is too big for the bun situation. I also asked for the house chili lime applesauce dipping sauce to go with my tots just to try it. I haven't heard of a flavored applesauce like that. I'm usually more of a ranch girl, and would probably get ranch next time, but it was cool to try. Overall a happy lunch experience. I will say, the table next to us had a delicious-looking cheesesteak, so I might get that instead next time ;)

Yelp
An underrated spot for breakfast on the weekends. Good location for enjoying your meal outside and a good beer selection.

Yelp
Service, food, drinks...always consistent and great! Orange Cosmos are my favorite! We always hit Side Bar when in West Chester!

Yelp
If you follow my rating system, I rate the food, service, cleanliness, and overall experience. Food: 8 Service: 9.5 Cleanliness: 8 O/E: 9.5 Average: 8.75, so with that rating, I would highly recommend this restaurant. The food was served promptly and warmly. The server did an excellent job. I had the salad and chicken wings as my meal. My wife had the shrimp salad, and we shared our meals. The other couple also enjoyed dinner, doing pretty much the same thing. We had a charming young lady - who made sure that this Hershey's Mill age group had a wonderful experience at 8:30 PM on a Saturday. Bottom line - try this place; you won't be disappointed.

Yelp
Quick service! The hummus plate was amazing! The bar is smaller but we got sat immediately.

Yelp
Decided to stop in for brunch today and had a great time. Great food, great service, and the perfect spot to hang out and see old friends. The eggs Benedict was fantastic, as were the breakfast sandwiches. They even had a gluten-free bun for my daughters sandwich that she really liked. I highly recommend this place and with such a diverse menu, there is something for everyone to enjoy! There is plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, and you just can't beat the service. Will definitely be back.

Yelp
939th different cheesesteak eaten in the last 4 years. Guest Eater Amigo Dan. Joe was there for the drinks. I was a very very very good cheesesteak. It is made with sliced Rib Eye. The meat is amazing, tender, juicy and flavorful. It comes on a slightly toasted seeded roll. The roll holds up to a lot of juice. The cheese was melted on top very nicely. I would describe this as an elegant traditional cheesesteak. Great balance of flavors. It was very easy to eat. Our bartender, I'm 98% sure her name is Vicki (she's from Pittsburgh) was fabulous. The sweet potato tater tots were Super-freaking-amazingly-stupendous.

Yelp
This unpleasant experience occurred on last Friday, April 5th. We walked in through the unlocked door at about 11:30 AM which is a normal time for bars and restaurants to open in West Chester. As we walked in there was a little fella holding a dolly with cases of beer (definitely an employee, probably helping the beer delivery guys ) staring at us like we had three heads and arrogantly says "can I help you? " I respond to little man " Oh you guys aren't open?" and he snarkly replies "we're open at 12". I informed him that the door was open and that is why we walked in to which he mumbles something else under his breath. Little man, with light hair and a light beard, about 5 foot three maybe 5 foot 3 1/2, needs to check his attitude. Stay away from this place and their arrogant employees.

Katelyn W.

Yelp
I LOVE the wings and blue cheese from this restaurant, but my most recent experience has caused me to make sure I never go back. I came here around 5:30pm yesterday to get some wings and a few drinks after work. I had asked ahead of time if I order extra food off of the happy hour menu and don't finish it can I bring it home. The bartender Kat got an attitude and decided to call me cheap for asking. The encounter was extremely awkward but I stayed regardless. I addressed it half way through after ordering a few drinks and she claimed to not really hear what I said. I tipped her $25 on a $27 bill, because if I had tipped her poorly after being called cheap it would've proven her point. All this to say, out of principle I won't be returning.

Yelp
Wonderful night with my husband! Ambiance was amazing! Food was delicious! Service was stellar! I'm not sure what to commend more the food or the service, so I'll spotlight both. We split 2 apps: scratch made pierogies were a comfort food gone gourmet, and seared scallops and shrimp were tasty and fresh in a savory tomato reduction topped with creamy goat cheese - mind blowingly delectable. We split an entree peppered steak topped with old bay lump crab meat, perfect fingerling potatoes and a fresh mixed green, tomato salad. Ended with a zingy "chocolate pudding shot" for dessert. -- Now if that's not enough for a 5review, let me add in Tatum! This ponytail wagging dynamo greeted and seated us. Then an understandable, yet uncomfortable wait ensued. We had taken in the spirit of al fresco dining in West Chester, politely observed passerby's but were feeling forgotten. Tatum revisited our table, apologized, brought water, drinks took our order, checked on us appropriate yet multiple times tending to our requests. She was also observed -solo-carrying tables and chair out for additional seating. We aren't sure if she was a hostess, server, manager, busser, food runner, but she did it all! Definitely a team player, pleasant, efficient, get the job done, woman of action!k

Yelp
When I say this place is bad. I mean it. The waitor was terrible, didn't give us any water, the bartender had no idea how to pour his drinks, I could make the same drinks in my apartment, the food was overpriced for the terrible quality. The atmosphere was just loud cars passing by every few seconds so you can't hear the person right across from you. The only good part about coming here was leaving.

Yelp
The cheeseburger on the kids menu is half a pound?! Why are kids around here eating more beef in a sitting than my wife eats in a year? They must grow them big in West Chester, PA, because the joint down the street also serves the most gigantic pizzas I've ever seen. Massive Pennsylvanian children aside, Side Bar is a nice spot for a beer and a snack on a beautiful day. We sat on the street, drank ciders, beers, and cocktails, and watched the town beer crawl by (we just seemed to be here on the right day). We also indulged in a few tacos (both the pork and the chicken), and they weren't bad at all. I think you could do a lot worse in West Chester.

Yelp
Came here for brunch today and it was very good. They had a nice pitcher of mimosa. Ordered the shaved ribeye and it was delicious. Very generous portions

Yelp
We came here for dinner Friday night. It was beautiful out, so we wanted to sit outside and eat with the dog. First off, the low rating has nothing to do with the service. Everyone that waited on us and came around were absolutely the nicest and have always been, even when we come here for drinks. We got the octopus and beef tips as appetizers. The octopus completely lacked flavor, was very bland and chewy. Even after putting lemon and salt on it, it still wasn't worth continuing to eat. The beef tips were cooked to temperature perfectly, but also lacked that seasoning punch and tasted bland as well. The drinks are always good here. I enjoyed a cold brew coffee/liquor drink and my girlfriend got a perfectly made espresso martini. We split the pork sandwich as our main. It was tasty. I am a fan of spicy food, and this sandwich was VERY very spicy. I enjoyed it, but if you're not a fan of heat, pass on this sandwich. Overall, the experience ambiance at the restaurant was nice, but the food was lacking flavor. I'll come back here for drinks any day, but will pass on the food.

Yelp
Great food, beautifully presented and wonderful service. What a treat. I had tuna tostadas that we're gorgeous and tasted even better

Yelp
As it was late, I didn't want something heavy. So I didn't try many things from the menu, but the mussels appetizer was outstanding! The mussels were plump and succulent, all were fully opened, and the broth and seasoning was fantastic. Carbs be damned, I had to request more bread to sop up that deliciousness! My friend had a very good beer that was only $3 What a deal! My only complaint was the pricing of the Impossible Burger at $17. I've had that burger at several other places, all priced at $12. For a few dollars more at this place, you can get a scallops dinner entree, so $17 for a plant-based burger? I don't think so! But that would've been my choice that night, so because of it, I discovered the yummy mussels. I'll be back.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I came to Side Bar for dinner pat night. I went to WCU so it was fun to get back to West Chester, and it was perfect weather to sit outside at Side Bar next to the heaters. I knew I definitely wanted a pumpkin beer, and they only had one on their list, but luckily it was really good (2SP Imperial Pumpkin). As an appetizer we shared the fried brussel sprouts. We had ordered them with bleu cheese on the side, which didn't happen, but luckily my boyfriend like bleu cheese and I was able to eat around it. Despite that letdown, the brussel sprouts were really delicious and the balsamic/honey on them was amazing. For dinner I had the chicken tacos off the small-plates menu. I opted for 2 over 3, and they were served with rice so it was plenty of food. I loved the tacos, they were spicy and had just enough sauce on them. My boyfriend had the piri-piri chicken sandwich, which he liked, but said was "nothing special". I would come back to Side Bar, but next time I'm in West Chester will probably try something new.

Yelp
Happy Hour Review: Went with my mom for a quick drink after being in the area. My $9 champagne cocktail tasted like something I could easily make in my college dorm and the basil in it was bruised. My moms little bottle of prosecco was $11 and it was good but it came with that expected cost. ANYWAY: Mom and I hear waitress rattling off the happy hour deals behind us ($5 wine, some cheaper apps etc. I couldn't hear). When we ask waitress why she didn't tell us the specials her response was a dumb sounding "oh, they asked." No signs anywhere on the menu or on the specials board that there are deals for Happy Hour. Bummed to miss out on that and also on my subpar cocktail. Given the other places in the area, I'll bop there next. Two stars for outdoor seating.
google avatar

Alison M.

Yelp
Love Sidebar, the food, the service and the atmosphere, especially the outdoor seating. They have great food options for everyone and even carry the impossible burger, my favorite! They have great summer cocktails, I think I got the summer spritzer(?), delicious but not too sweet. Our server, Victoria was awesome today. She gave great recommendations, and was quick. Also, they have a wonderful brunch! Never a bad meal/time! 2 issues- way too many plastic straws (for each and every drink) I believe they should be reserved for only those with disabilities. and styrofoam for carry out:(( bad for the environment AND our bodies, maybe in the future you could switch to cardboard.

Yelp
Side bar is a a bit of a hidden gem in west chester. The buildings facade is beautiful and we had the delight of sitting upstairs window side gay st. Ordered chicken sandwich and fries. Good sandwich. I would have liked it better if the pickles weren't overwhelming the flavor. The charm of the restaurant and environment made it a great experience. I plan on going to SB again soon
google avatar

Yelp
I stopped in here for breakfast after a weekend in PA. We wanted to go somewhere that didn't have a wait and there menu looked good. When you walk in, you can tell it's more of a bar than a restaurant, it just has that smell of last nights alcohol. Not a huge issue, but if you're looking for a more restaurant vibe, this is not the place. We sat indoors near a closed window and my bf and I both ordered the breakfast tacos. The tacos were good (look at all that guac!) but my biggest complaint is that flies kept falling from the window onto my food. Yes I wrote that correctly, one second I was eating and there were no bugs and the next time I looked down there was a small fruit fly looking bug in my food. I looked around and realized that they must be next to the window next to me. It was on the edge so I did what any normal person would do, flicked it off my plate and continued eating (lol). THEN it happened again and I couldn't finish. Luckily I was almost done but it's just unacceptable. Unfortunate, because before that the food was delish and our server was great!
google avatar

Molly Z.

Yelp
Nice specials. Great prices on drafts. It really depends on the crowd and the server. I can go either way- but bottom line is that I keep returning when I am in town. So come and check it out.
google avatar

Randy B.

Yelp
Side bar has a small menu, but the food was very good. The food took close to 40 minutes to get after we ordered. They have a decent selection of beer. Hostess and waitress had zero personality which took away from the dining experience. I don't think anyone smiles or talks that was working there today.
google avatar

Nick J.

Yelp
I have lived in West Chester for 8 years now and have been to every restaurant; hands downing, Side Bar is my favorite. The atmosphere and outdoor seating is relaxing. I have spent multiple occasions outside reading a book, enjoying a unique cold craft beer. What makes Side Bar stand out from other establishments is the vast and ever changing beer selection they provide. On top of this, ever single server is knowledgeable about the multitude of beers offered. From my experience, I have come to recognize Scott as a beer aficionado who truly cares and enjoys his job at Side Bar; he is my favorite server because of this. Scott cares about you as a guest and he works hard to make sure that you have an enjoyable experience. If you are intimidated by the vast selection of craft beers they offer, Scott and any other server can easily suggest a beer or two they offer that would complement the meal you are about to enjoy. I have never had a bad experience at Side Bar and look forward to my next meal.

Tiffanie T.

Yelp
Came here to visit a friend and got the inferno burger! It was freaking delicious and a must. Not a great place for big groups but great service and not to mention their huge selection of beers!!!! I will definitely be coming back to try their beers and happy hour when I'm in the area.
google avatar

Jim O.

Yelp
Service was excellent. Beer selection is one of the best in town. The kitchen/food, well, that's the reason they don't get 5 stars from us. The piri-piri is excellent and comes out accurate most of the time. But we've experienced issues with other dishes like burgers and some of the apps. It's like the kitchen doesn't have the same attention to quality as it has in the past.
google avatar

Nicolette S.

Yelp
Side Bar has become my husband and I's new favorite restaurant! We've tried a good portion of the menu so far, and have yet to try anything that wasn't good! The service is very good. If you have either of the ladies named Abby, you're in for a treat! The beer list is always on point with a generous happy hour offering. Our favorite appetizer is the fried Brussels sprouts. The sweet potato tots are also amazing. There are weekly specials that we always end up ordering something off of. All of their soups are delicious! In terms of meals, the roast pork is hands down our favorite sandwich, with the Piri Piri chicken, and Ahi Tuna BST coming in a close second. The chicken and carne asada tacos are both extremely flavorful. The seafood linguini had about double the seafood I expected. The filet was perfectly cooked and delicious! In sum, if anything on their menu looks good, try it!!
google avatar

Matthew B.

Yelp
Food is predictable bar fare and drinks are made by part-time college students following a recipe. I guess you might enjoy if you're a 25yr old, but plenty of better choices in WC.
google avatar

Megan S.

Yelp
Great selection of beers, competitively priced. Friendly and accommodating servers. Get the hummus to share with a group... the plate is HUGE and full of accompaniments like feta, roasted red peppers, pita, and cucumbers. I loved the sourdough on my BLT, but the house smoked bacon left a little to be desired. Just a personal preference, but I like my bacon crispier. It was very thick (yum!) but pretty limp and there was a bit too much fat on it. Don't leave without trying the sweet potato tater tots!
google avatar

Cas M.

Yelp
I actually really love coming to Side Bar for dinner. It's a cute little place with spacious room for a big party or seclusion for an intimate dinner for two. The fireplace upstairs is lovely, but wasn't working the last time I visited. The food is excellent. Still some of the best wings in the area! I have to say it's a tad pricey, but definitely high quality as well. I had the most delicious shredded meat sandwich. I think it was warm sliced steak with bleu cheese and onions. I can't remember specifically what it was called, but it was outstanding. The menu provided on Yelp is much larger than the menu provided on site. I felt as though there wasn't much to choose from, but I didn't mind too much. Sometimes a larger menu is too overwhelming, anyway. I do remember their burgers also being delicious. Their drinks are far too pricey for my liking, though; especially because there are so many other places to grab a cheap drink in the area. The server was really nice, as well, and gave us tons of free goodies for my friend's birthday. Another pleasant experience! I'm sure I will be back again.

Yelp
Side Bar is our go-to spot for outside food and beverages in West Chester. The sidewalk seating is perfect on a beautiful spring or summer day to people watch. The food is ok and they have pretty decent happy hour specials (25% off appetizers). The sweet potato tater tots are worth the trip alone. If you happen to be here in the winter, try the upstairs bar to watch the snow fall on West Chester's main drag. Side Bar is great spot to go to anytime of year. We'll definitely be back, time and time again.
google avatar

Claire B.

Yelp
Anna brought back the short rib entree without cheese polenta. Sam was a great bartender. Meal was super tasty. Service was great. Definitely coming back
google avatar

Rula R.

Yelp
Side bar is definitely my favorite in town. Very cozy and delicious apps and drinks. I've been coming here more often since I moved near town.

Rose N.

Yelp
Hubs and I had a wonderful dinner here tonight. Crab cake appetizer was very tasty with lots of crab. The Pork rib eye and salmon dinners were both excellent. Prices are reasonable. Our waiter, Jack was very attentive. I'm sure we will be going back soon.
google avatar

Jill N.

Yelp
First time having Side Bar Brunch and it was great! There brunch specials are awesome and everything is reasonably priced, including the drinks! They had this one drink called the Rik Mosa which is the combination of a mimosa and GM aka Grand Marnier! Great combo! I had the veggie omelet special with goat cheese... So good! Tons of fresh veggies, like onions, yellow and green peppers, broccoli, spinach and zucchini! Everything comes with choice of toast, home fries and fresh fruit. I would def come back here again for brunch, I still need to try their lunch and dinner menu.
google avatar

Yelp
One of the best places in West Chester to grab a beer and get some great food. Tap list rotates often and bottle list is impressive Recommended stop for those who love craft beer
google avatar

Carson J.

Yelp
I came to sidebar on a Saturday night after 10pm on a Saturday right after west Chester started back up. The bartenders were prompt and helpful for beer recommendations. After another guest was lingering around me Angelica and sal checked in to see that I was okay since I was by myself. They were attentive the entire time for my experience. 100% the reason I will be back
google avatar

Evan S.

Yelp
Great restaurant in downtown West Chester especially if you need a cozy place to grab a beer and a sandwich. One of the most extensive beer lists in West Chester, Side Bar has great service and great ambience. Apparently they have trivia night on Tuesday nights for an added bonus. The service is top notch.
google avatar

Peggy R.

Yelp
Had an awesome night. Relax slow pace which we loved, we had a lot of privacy upstairs. Atmosphere was beat but very chill. Food was awesome we had chicken taco bowl and the beef taco bowl. They both were very tasteful if you like spicy definitely go with the beef, if you like a mixture of favors go with the chicken. Our waitress was Addy was very friendly. If you are in the West Chester area definitely check out this place.
google avatar

David L.

Yelp
Decent bar food, but a truly expansive list of canned, bottled, and on-tap beers make this spot worthy of being an after-hours standby!

Schalk L.

Yelp
This place is not recommended. Servers are rude, unfriendly, leaves people's orders and gets the orders wrong. The food is burnt and not prepared well. I am really disappointed in this place, not coming here again!
google avatar

Dan O.

Yelp
I found myself in West Chester the other night, and I don't know that area too well. Yelp steered me to this lil place, and I'm glad it did. Great beer selection, great food (really extensive menu with cheap quick meals and pricier fare), and a great overall vibe. I really enjoyed the Piri Piri Chicken sandwich. Simple and tasty. Also, compliments to whoever controls the radio. Thumbs up.
google avatar

Lisa R.

Yelp
When Sidebar first opened in West Chester, my husband and I were really excited at the prospect of a craft beer bar, something west chester was lacking. And, in the beginning, it didn't disappoint (simply due to the fact that it was a monopoly). Eight years later, there are plenty of places in West Chester to get good craft beer, and much better food. The menu is basically identical to when they opened, and it was never spectacular. Go across the street to Social, better vibe, food, and music. If beer is your top priority, hit Split Rail right around the corner. If eating the same burger or mediocre piri piri for the rest of your life is your thing, this is your place.
google avatar

Bashi A.

Yelp
We came here as a last stop of our little bar hopping tour that night. They have seating outside, first floor and second floor. So a lot of room for you to choose where you want to sit. We decided to go upstairs since we just wanted to enjoy each other and talk. Upstairs was pretty slow so it was perfect for us. The bartender was nice to us right away and started talking to us. She made the drinks right away and actually hold a conversation. Almost a little too much since we couldn't really talk to each other as much anymore but it was amusing. We ordered some fries and wings to go which tasted pretty good so I had no complains about it. They got our order done fast enough thinking that they did have a lot of business downstairs and outside. So all in all. It's definitely a nice place to go to and hang out. Would visit again. The prices are reasonable as well.
google avatar

Josh Y.

Yelp
I love this place and don't understand why they don't have higher stars. Been here twice now; lunch and dinner and both times were outstanding service, food and ambience. Both times we've had the Brussels Sprouts which are flawless. Tonight we had a salad special and split this awesome twist on a BLT that was mind-blowingly good; seared pork belly, seared ahi tuna steak (huge!), tomato and the seaweed salad with sriracha on a toasted brioche bun. The accompanying fries were cooked perfectly and this inventive and unique "burger" is something I'll dream about for months. Excellent service both times. Kudos to you Side Bar!

Terri N.

Yelp
Side Bar is such an amazing restaurant! I often work from home and sometimes just need to change it up, so I head to Side Bar for lunch and work from there. The staff has been so great! They know me by name and are so helpful. There is a salad that I love, but it is usually a special. They let me know that I can have that salad anytime I want even if it's not a special. All I have to do is ask for it! How great is that???? Justin (one of the owners) is so accommodating. At the last minute, my husband needed a space to host his Fantasy Football Draft. Justin offered the upstairs immediately! The guys had their own server and had a blast! I often host happy hours for my team at Side Bar and have had many events there as well. The time that we spend there is nothing short of fabulous! Super accommodating, super fun and super nice. They would just about do anything for you! West Chester is lucky to have Side Bar!

Yelp
Classy and hip place to meet up with old friends or college classmates. Delicious brunch, dinner, and awesome beer selection on tap with tons of local choices. A beer connoisseur's heaven. Management has always been super nice and accommodating. Tater tots and the inferno burger are the best! Upstairs has a fantastic space for parties or live music. Honestly adore this place and would recommend it to friends and family instantly.
