The experience was pleasant. We went to celebrate a double birthday. We were a group of more than 20 people, so they put us in the lounges near the entrance, and thank goodness because the place was packed when we walked to the bathroom at the back. People wouldn't even let you pass, the hallways were blocked, and the air didn't even circulate. Overall, the music was good and the atmosphere was good. The waiters and the doorman were friendly and helped us have an amazing time.

Had an amazing night at SideBar Nightclub! From the moment we walked in, the energy was electric and the music kept us dancing non-stop. But what really made the night unforgettable was Karina, our VIP cocktail waitress. She was an absolute star — friendly, quick, and somehow always right there when we needed a new round. Karina made us feel like true VIPs the entire night! Can’t wait to come back and do it all over again. Highly recommend if you’re looking for great vibes and top-notch service! 🍾🎉🕺💃

I had such a fun night out! We went for a friends birthday and got a table. Our service was Laura and she was so great! She made sure we have everything we ended and we love the signs that were brought out! The music was great and the vibes were great! Loved it so much, I’ll have to come back again soon!!!

As out-of-town visitors, we were looking for somewhere to go after we had a later dinner on Saturday the 11th. We found Side Bar after a quick google search and were enticed by the good reviews and the decor. We walked up to the door at 11 and went straight in after a quick purse check. Honestly, we were a little apprehensive about going somewhere that had a club feel to it as we’re now in our mid-30’s but everyone was extremely friendly, and there was a broad mix of people younger and older than us. Some were dressed in jeans while others had full on club wear on. It took us a minute to realize there was a club in the back and not just the bar in the front. The drinks were fairly priced for the type of venue and the service was quick. The male bartender working the back was so professional and accommodating, as we ordered expensive shots and he confirmed we were comfortable paying the price before he proceeded to pour and charge us. We really enjoyed the male DJ who played a mix of songs that we older millennials knew and the floor was dancing the whole night. It was full but never uncomfortably so and the air circulation was good—not horribly sweaty and stuffy. Even the bathrooms were decently maintained, with two sets (one in front and one in back). The bottle girls were so fit and stunning and didn’t seem stuck up like many are. We had a great time and wouldn’t hesitate to come back next time we’re in town. Thanks for helping us old ladies feel young again.

Recently went to Side Bar for my friends bachelor party and I worked with Andra to plan the night. She went above and beyond to give the group one of the best VIP bottle experience I've ever seen. The attention to detail was insane. She had the bachelors picture all over the building (external & internal) and the entire production was top notch. We even got welcome shots as we walked in...So special shout outs to her for being such a great host! This was my second time at Side Bar and music (mainly hip-hop) is always on point and the staff from the front to the back are all nice people and they genuinely care about making sure everyone has a good night. This is the only club you need to go to when you're out in SD!

Ree is phenomenal. He had so much patience with me as I allowed my big group of girls to vote on which bar/club to go to. He talked prices and bottles with me and just never gave up in a good way. Wasn't pushy. Just complete patience and positivity. I loved his energy "through" text. Our bottle server girl was Zaya I believe, and small world, we worked in the same club family in Sacramento. The 15 girls and I loved our experience here. It was the highlight of my weekend for night events. Thank you so much Side Bar. I hope to return in the future if you will have us again

Still the best club in town! Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a true VIP experience, whether you're attending general admission grabbing drinks at the bar or doing bottle service it's the spot to be. Shout out to Blake he's the coolest VIP host around and always takes care of me

I had a ladies night with 8 of my girlfriends in gaslamp this past Friday and we were making our way to sidebar. One of the promoters, Dave, offer us a bottle of champagne upon arrival and sat us at a really nice cozy set of couches. He was very nice and friendly and definitely enhanced our experience. We were there fairly early, around 9p so before the major crowds and I really loved the vibe. It has an elegant and chic layout and decor with dim lighting. The music was fun but low tone enough where you could actually have conversations with your friends. A great spot for post dinner drinks or for a first stop in bar/club hopping.

Great cocktail menu! My lavender haze was delicious, well flavored with a generous alcohol content. The rose old fashioned was a wonderful shift from the usual. The boy quite liked it! The ambience was quite fun and poppin' for a Saturday night after 11 pm. Before that, it was comfortable seating all around. Fun place!

Sidebar has been my favorite club in San Diego by far! Ree has always been accommodating and makes sure my friends and I always have a good time. Would 100% recommend this club to anyone looking to go out in San Diego as well as booking a through Ree to ensure you have the best experience.

Sing dance crawl. I've come every year. For some reason this year they're trying to say that I am irate and aggressive. Which it doesn't really matter what I write here because it's my word against theirs. But I was never irate, never aggressive and they denied me entry for absolutely no reason. They said I was drunk. They wanted me to call the cops. I'm not going to get the cops involved because that's insanity. I'm just upset it doesn't make sense that I paid money and they're trying to say that I can't go in I've never been a drunk irate person in my life. Bigger one on the right has a power trip. Since I'm never gonna be allowed in again gonna prove him right that I shouldn't have been let in. Glad this was SDC last year. Never gonna bring more people.

Unfortunately I did not have a good experience at side bar, You would think that after reading all of the good reviews one would think otherwise. On Friday, February 14 2025. I was falsely accused for inappropriately groping one of the female employees and I was escorted out no questions asked, no proof, and no management was involved. When escorted out the gentleman doing the escorting stated that I have two options...1st option being "I can get law enforcement involved" 2nd option being "leave peacefully". Not only did I get embarrassed I was also being falsely accused while being African American, First responder, and a God father to two beautiful girls. I'm truly disappointed in how the situation was handled and managed. The last thing I need is to be falsely accused for something I did not and risk everything I've worked for thus far for "misunderstanding" at "Side Bar Nightclub & Lounge" on Valentine's Day it's definitely not worth it.

Best club in downtown SD hands down. Best compared service and drinks. My friends and I came here from Sac For her 33rd bday we stumbled upon grins club. Our Uber driver happened to drop us off right I front Of here and one of the managers immediately approached us and offered us to come in skip The line and gave us complementary champagne. Definitely will be back when we're in SD.

This establishment was awesome and staff was amazing. Had a lot of fun with my friends. I recommend this place to everyone.

Only four stars because of how wild the rest of the night was and when girls kept bumping into our table. BUT ANYWAYS, overall excellent service and experience! We celebrated our friend's golden birthday and from the beginning we knew this would be worth of money for bottle service. I also worked with Megan (the lead cocktail waitress and side bar baddie) to come up with a birthday slogan for the birthday girl. Megan was such a queen and made the experience welcoming/fun! The DJ had a great playlist and the sign came out better than I could have ever hoped for. This was a wonderful night and I would recommend the side bar experience for anyone looking for a fun night out/quality bottle service! Or if you're looking to have a night like The Hangover

When ever I'm in San Diego, Side Bar is always one of the places I go for good time, good vibes and great music. Ree always takes such great care of us and love it whenever DJ Oddeo and DJ Kaos are there to set the vibes.

Sidebar went above and beyond yo make my 30th a special celebration. My friends and I had the best time and they even went the extra mile and surprised me with a billboard of myself.The service was speedy and the cocktails are always delicious. It was truly unreal and so thoughtful! I highly recommend coming here if you're looking for a fun night out.

This place sucks so hard. The music is terrible, there is no place to dance, the drinks are expensive, the vibe is awful. The music is played at excruciating volume. The DJ was awful. He would play 30 seconds of a song and then just as the crowd was getting into it, he would switch to a different song. Most songs were not danceable at all either. There is no open space for dancing so if you don't buy a table then you are stuck in the aisle ways and entrances and the wait staff walks through with huge, neon signs every 20 seconds so you are inevitably in their way. There was really nothing good about this place.

I don't typically frequent establishments in the Downtown San Diego area but this place was amazing. Fantastic staff, fantastic drinks, fantastic vibes! Definitely the place to party! The owners are fabulous too! Managers Mike and Ree are A+!

The music is like a high with non-stop adrenaline flowing to bliss. Talk about a dopamine injection of ratchet music, gangsta ol' skool transitions, while integrating current club hits. Seriously, slammin' D.J.  Hip Hop Friday night. All night. Krunkin' nonstop with all expletives in the lyrics. Love it! What's really cool in the DJ is that they let the song play more than 20 seconds. Sidebar  is like a bottle service preferred atmosphere and then other stranglers are allowed to party alongside.  Come on, there's bottle service seating in the middle of the dance floor. Typical age range 24-32. Diverse ethnicities and gender. Casual dress but I would recommend guys wear a collar and no sneakers.  IMO, Ladies should be sexy and feminine but some were drab. And I don't like women, I'm just trying to represent. Let's get this clear. Everyone can't get pass the sentry at the door even with the gift of gab or even a $$ spot.  On the other hand, good lookin' and good vibes can be an asset. The lines are long if you arrive 1030 or later. If you are used to VIP, this ain't it. But if you are used to bottle service, Sidebar got yo' back.  It's tight with folks. Fo' real. If you're the type that like to walk around the club like a looky it ain't gon happen too much here. But if you like strong drinks, good music and call lol while standing in place, Boom! Sidebar got you.  I don't know if there's a cover, cause my vibe is elevated and I'm easy on the eyes. I also don't know the price of drinks, because if you party downtown be prepared to pay an upcharge. What I do know is that Megan responds quickly to correspondence and is generous with her kindness. I also know that the lead sentry guy (he is from Tanzania or visited Tanzania or perhaps kissed a princess there)-damn tequila -- is also generous and maintains safety while having fun. I love that even when two dudes tried to cause a problem, the sentry was there in 10 seconds, dissolved the situation and we kept dancing to Too Short. BTW, I turnt up all night in 5 in. heels and closed down da club.  From my understanding, there is no guest list. Oh, and Ciro's pizza next door is da bom after clubbin' to prevent hangover blues. Tip the servers and bathroom service-good karma.

Was excited to try out this club as we were in town for thanksgiving. They were hosting an RnB night. The bouncer however was ignoring certain people outside and only letting in others. Seemed a little stereotypical and racist , therefore we just went somewhere else instead.

Hit my boy Ree for a good time! He'll take care of you, like he always takes care of me! The rest of the staff and service is top notch, and they even sell burgers for my drunk a**.

Side bar is by far my favorite club in San Diego! The music is always great and they have the coolest events! Andra is an amazing server! And Ree always takes good care of us! I've spent my birthday here for the past two years and they have made both very memorable! Obviously will be returning! P.S. the side burgers are to die for!

Joe Momand is the worst VIP host this place has. He promises VIP service and Comps to girls and then goes MIA and blocks you. Side bar should really find a better VIP host other than him.

The girls and I checked out Sidebar after our dinner at Bang Bang around 10:40ish on a Friday night. I am so happy we did because it was the highlight of our night. Bartenders are quick with their service and the DJ knows how to start a party! I went during December and they did a fabulous job with the holiday decorations. We were planning to just stop by to pregame with a few drinks but ended up staying here the whole night. The dance floor was so much fun and the flower arrangements+neon signage were exactly what we were looking for. If you need to cool down, Side Bar also has an outdoor patio area for you to grab some air. I would definitely round up friends to go again the next time I am in town!

Ree and Side Bar made my fiancés 30th birthday so memorable, fun and special! Their attention to detail was so awesome and fun. The service was perfect and friendly. Thank you Ree and the SB team for making our night amazing!

The vibe is fun but the DJ was just okay. He would clearly hit the mark on a few songs and then would totally drop the ball with a total dud - he didn't know how to play to his audience but whatever I am sure the DJs rotate. Drinks were overpriced but not my biggest complaint. Not a lot of room to dance if you are not getting bottle service and if you are the tables are not big and space is limited. Also 3k minimum for bottle service in the back table rooms? Wow! I know people will pay it but extremely overpriced in my opinion, especially depending on the group and occasion.

Booked a table through Megan for my best friends birthday and had the absolute best experience! We came a few minutes early, and were greeted by security and VIP hosts. The security staff checked our ID's and purses (it made us feel safe knowing that they check everyone's bags considering downtown feels a little unsafe at night). Once we entered, we were surprised with a memorable presentation from the bottle service girls at our table. We received a second presentation with a bday sign, lights, and our bottle by Megan and Morgan (who also helped us throughout the night and made all of our drinks - soo yummy ). Security ensured that no one but our group were allowed at our table, and made us feel extra safe when they hovered around throughout the evening and escorted us to the bathroom. Megan and Morgan, both, constantly checked on us. Even though the club began to get super busy, they made sure to keep checking in on us and making us drinks. 10/10 service, highly recommend! Security even escorted us through the wild crowd, and to the door to make sure we didn't get split up as a group! If you want to experience the nightlife scene in gaslamp, check out Side Bar! Ask for Megan and Morgan to be your bottle servers; you won't regret it!! Thank you again to the amazing Side Barbies for such a great experience! We will definitely be back

My friends and I had an amazing night out at Side Bar on our San Diego trip in March. As soon as we stepped inside we were wowed by how beautiful this venue was. The cocktails were delicious, the staff was fun and friendly, and it smelled so good in there! The vibe was perfect and everyone was having a good time. My favorite part was when the bottle service girls rode out on a giant horse with champagne for one of the tables next to the DJ, I was not expecting that! This was definitely the highlight of our trip and we can't wait to go back!

This place is not inclusive, and will stoop so low to create the "fun environment", even if it means disrespecting or mocking a religion, they don't care if you're christian and will be offended. I came there with my friends to have a good time and unwind, but we were so disappointed to see a picture of a nun dressed as a clown with a big cross on the slideshow, clearly mocking Christianity and having no regard to anyone who may be Christian in there. When we approached the DJ and nicely asked him if he could take the picture down because it was disrespectful and offensive, he stated that he couldn't control the slideshow and that the guests who purchase a table in the club send in these photos which automatically get displayed, which is ridiculous that they don't implement a method to censor such hateful messages. Never going back there again, and will also be spreading this news to my Christian community so they don't spend a single dollar on a place that doesn't care to offend a religion and literally appear as antichrist.

A huge shout out to Blake who took hospitality to the next level and arranged everything for us during this amazing trip. I highly recommend reaching out to him and highly recommend everyone checking this place out as it is nothing short of perfect. I love this night club! It's not very huge but it's a good place to celebrate special occasions as well. I've got a comp table for my friends birthday two years ago and all for just the two of us! I've celebrated my birthday here as well, and also going to be Celebrating friends birthdays in a month! Music is good, depending on the nights. It's a nice club!

Atmosphere is amazing - decoration and aesthetic is a 10/10. HOWEVER - bartenders are rude and drinks are ridiculously overpriced. Got a lemon drop and it was $18...we watched them pour. They didn't measure and you could obviously tell there wasn't even a full shot in it. When we looked at the price and seemed surprised, the bartender said, "Hah you're not in PB anymore. You've never been here before" It was bizarre and condescending. I've been there a few times prior but don't think I'll be going back after that. There's better bars in the area with just as fun of an atmosphere and cheaper drinks.

Fun bar! Lots of tables available, but not the most spacious place. But the time I went, I saw Neyo so that was super cool! Had a fun time!

I have been to nearly every nightclub in San Diego's Gaslamp district, and Sidebar takes the crown. Ree & his team are in a class of their own. Always quick to show us the most hospitality that San Diego night life has to offer. The bottle service here is an unforgettable experience. If your looking for a place to celebrate with your people, SIDEBAR is the place to pop bottles at! They always have the best DJs performing, trust you wont be disappointed.

MUST VISIT when in San Diego! Not only is it a beautiful space but the staff brings their best energy! Megan helped make our girls night out one for the books. She was so fun, THE BEST VIBES, so energetic and happy. She made great recommendations for bottles/drinks & was so attentive our cups where always full. We had the BEST time here for my sister in laws bachelorette trip this past weekend all thanks to our guy Ree! He was so attentive for the weeks of planning leading up to the trip, willing to help us not only set up a night in the club but also recommendations/reservations for anything else we were interested in. He even created us a personal itinerary complete with reservation dates/times and photos of the bride & groom! What shocked me the most was when we showed up at Lumi (sushi restaurant recommended by Ree) with the best table in the house, personalized chopsticks, & custom drinks with printed photos of the bride & groom printed on top (HOW!?) We we're well taken care of at the club and had an absolute blast!! I didn't ask for any of this and Ree went above & beyond to make us and the bride feel so special!

This is the spot ! Every time I go down to San Diego to visit my boy Nayef from Wholesale Nutrition this is the spot we go and party. I never get disappointed! Best vibes , staff , music , crowd and you name it! My number one place to go out in San Diego

It's a small bar, every time I would hear a good song coming on, it was then turned into a weird remix that didn't sound danceable. I asked the bartender if they had ginger beer and she said yes, I then asked for a ginger beer with tequila, and just a water for my friend. She gave me a glass of tequila with a splash of sprite in it, and a bottled water for my friend that we didn't ask for, and charged us $25. I gave her the card b4 knowing the price. I told her I didn't want the bottled water, just a glass, but she said too late. It was awkward too watching ppl in their groups acting like they were having fun and taking pics for IG, and then quickly going back to looking miserable. Felt like watching a social experiment. No one seemed to actually just be having fun. And the place looks so cute in their photos but in person looks a bit grungey.

Spacious, beautiful and great music, lights and drinks! Lots of tables with a dance floor in the center and the lounge area with the bar is more "club" vibes because it's right next to the club room! But this is the vibe you come here for and they deliver. Has a cover which varies in price but everyone who works is really pleasant and helpful. Really fun to celebrate an event or just wander in and bop around the place :)

Always have an amazing time here! The vip hosts Blake, Ree and Julian have consistently done a phenomenal job in both customer service and and having a great time. I've spent my birthday here a few weeks back and I've repeatedly have gone back since. The staff is quick and attentive and the bouncers are friendly, professional, and approachable. Always had a really good time here until the one time that Frankie and his security team; first off, let two random guys from the same group (first one without my knowledge) start pressing their "bodies" all up on my girlfriend but then when I confronted the second guy that I witnessed do this to my girlfriend they kicked me out because the people that caused this offense had payed for a table and I hadn't. So apparently if you go to this place and get a table 1. Not only are you freely allowed to be rapey towards women but also 2. You're allowed to jump the guy who stand ups for his girl 6-7 vs 1 and the security will side with the wrong team. Will never be going here again.

Went to Side Bar over the weekend for my husbands birthday and it was an amazing experience! We enjoyed their bottle service table side and the staff took such good care of us. The manager Frankie and VIP host Ree were on point. Even the body guards and bussers made sure to deliver that VIP experience. Dj Scene was there and played perfect music for a night of dancing. They even did a special slideshow for my husband! Great ambiance. Definitely recommend!

My wife and I stopped in for a quick drink. We ended staying for four more. Side Bar is a fun place, good music and great drinks. Frankie is a great manager/host and that carries on throughout his staff. Everyone there is very friendly and very attentive. It was fun to dance, people watch and have a great night. I highly recommend this please my girls & I had a great time for my birthday celebration. I want to say thank you sidebar and to the VIP host Ree for making this happen we had VIP service all night long. This is the best place to celebrate anything A+++ customer service.

Got bottle service there back in April for my cousins birthday and there are two sides to this night club. We got bottle service on the bar side and it felt weird at first because we were literally out in the open but you get over that quickly after a few Drinks. This place gets crazy packed (that's how you know it's poppin) and the DJ plays bomb music! What really made the experience a 10/10 was our server/bartender Camay! She was quick to respond when we needed our drinks refilled or when we needed more water at our table. She was super nice and her vibes were everything! I will definitely be coming back and would request her as our bartender again!

*My review is not based on the nightclub but overall experience a bartender gave me* Anytime I go downtown, I always make sure I hit up Side Bar because they play great music and it's always a party in there! Last weekend (May 14th), I came in with a few of my friends and we went up to the bar to get some drinks. The girl bartender with blonde hair and a tattoo sleeve on her left arm (she worked the side of the bar closest to entrance) had the worst customer service of any bartender I've come across. She would purposely skip over me to make sure all the men at the bar were taken care (I used to work in service so I know men are grabbing her attention). But, when I say she would skip over me, I would be the only person on her side the walk in different direction to take orders!! One guy sees me at the bar and waved at me since I had been waiting there for awhile. Not only did she just dissed me (again) but ended up going to that guy! He told the bartender to take our order so then she gets flustered at me. I try to explain her that he's letting me go first but instead she goes, "I don't care if you were here first, I don't play by those rules." Roles her eyes at me then takes that guys order then goes to my male friend with me and asks what he wants! He orders for us then she messes up my order! As someone who worked in the service industry and is a good tipper, I'll be sure to never go to her. Hopefully this is her wake up that it's not cute being petty!
