Side Chick Boston

I’m new to Side Chick’s neighborhood and we have become quickly well acquainted. If you’re picking up from them directly ORDER THROUGH THEIR OWN WEBSITE!! Uber Eats charges DOUBLE. The guys at the counter are always very kind and efficient, treating delivery drivers and pickup guests both very kindly. I’ve never had tenders or fried chicken sandwiches as crispy (even sauced up) as I have with them. Their blue cheese is legit, and the quality is just top tier. Please support this business, they’re the real deal.

A year or two ago I would have happily given this place 5 stars without hesitation. I just came back here for the first time in a while and have learned that they changed my favorite dish the Chick Bowl; it used to come with a nice variety of fresh veggies along with the rice and chicken. Now what it is is you automatically get fried chicken (which I can deal with even though I am disappointed not being able to get the grilled anymore.. and NO it was not even an option as they clearly told me since I specifically asked about grilled) with rice, preselected sauce, and pickles. This is definitely not what I was looking forward to and I had to pay extra just to have the standard lettuce and tomato. Otherwise I absolutely recommend Side Chick to anyone! I will say their fried chicken is some of the best I've had. UPDATE: someone had miscommunicated about grilled chicken not being an option but this is still an option.

I don’t really give bad reviews. So when I walked i explained to the cashier “ hey you guys gave me some old dry chicken 🍗😐 last time I came here so I want it fresh. He said ok cool.. So I left and came back in a couple minutes and it was done a little too fast for my liking. When I looked through the box they had mixed the old chicken with a just a few fresh pieces. I was obviously upset. He apologized and said they would make an all fresh batch so I had to wait another 15 minutes. It’s suck because when it’s fresh it’s really good. So why would you not want to serve the best all the time??

Would be a great place but their dipping sauce portions are comedically small. Like two dips and your sauce is gone. Really??? This a chicken place I should be swimming in sauce if I ask for it especially if you are going to charge me $0.75 for it. Jarritos for scale:

I’d seen great reviews & stopped by to sample their fried chicken, I got a thigh & breast & it didn’t disappoint. Crunch factor, flavor, freshness out of this world. If you’re looking for a no fuss, local & flavorful takeout spot, you’ve found it.

One of the better fried chicken places in Boston. Can't go wrong with tenders or the sandwich. Crispy enough of the outside and the chicken quality is great.

This is one of our favorite places in Boston. The chicken fingers are just incredible. They're made to order and you can really taste the difference. So much better than Shy Bird (which is very overhyped). The French fries are also perfectly crispy. Mohammed is always a delight and he keeps us coming back! We know we're in for a treat when we walk in and see him. Pro tip: ask for your chicken fingers to have the Cajun spice on them. It's not on the menu, but it'll change your life for $2!

So the Cheese steak was delicious!! 🤩The Main chic was juicy and the tenders were just right. But the slaw🤐🥴😱.never again. So here is a picture of the one my husband has been eating from the grocery store by Reser's on the left/top and the one from side chic is on the right with a bunch of cabbage and slivers of purple onion and dry. So disappointed especially after the host amped it up .lol well I will definitely be getting my cheese steak from there just not the slaw.

I did not have high expectations of this restaurant as it appears to be another pop-up chicken spot. I've only visited this restaurant a handful of times but the quality has been consistent each visit. I placed my orders late in the evening and was pleasantly surprised. The chicken tasted fresh in the sense that it was cooked in clean oil. I'm not sure if they're changing the oil throughout the day or if I'm just getting lucky. There's another well known chicken restaurant across the street but I'll always bypass it to visit Side Chick. I definitely recommend if you're in the area.

First time trying "Side Chick", I wasn't expecting much.... But it was Delicious. 8 out of 10!! And few reason why it is "8" . 1- the fry oil, you can smell.. that they haven't change it In a few days,( I used to, work in the kitchen)... 2- spicy fries, are not spicy... 3-no side sauce...( $0.75 ea) I will come back!

The sandwich was soooo good and everything was so fresh. I was skeptical of the white sauce because I'm not a huge fan of mayo, but mixed with garlic, it was the perfect topper for the chicken. The shoestring fries were crispy, just like I like them.

Food was good and delivery time amazing. For under $10 not bad! Very crispy and tasty. Adequate seasoning. Now the man sub is more a woman size although also delicious with the creamy mayo sauce, onion and peppers. Subs not what they clearly pushing but good attempt.

The staff is extremely nice! The food was equivalent to McDonald's. The breading wouldn't stay on the chicken. I ordered the Main Chick, and it didn't have cheese like it was supposed to. I paired with the fried zucchini, which seemed like they are frozen and then deep fried, not great, not terrible. My fiancé got the Colombian, and it again was like McDonald's. The potato wedges are equivalent to the grocery store. Again not bad but not great.

A friend picked up sandwiches from here before we went to the movies to watch Oppenheimer. All the sandwiches were great! Very filling and tasty! The hubs especially loved it and said so - he usually doesn't comment too much about what he eats, so this is high praise! Definitely recommend and would like to check out the restaurant too!

This place is literally Kennedy/Crown/New York Fried Chicken under yet another alias with higher prices! My inner-voice did warn me saying that "this food is going to be wack, it's overpriced, just go to McDonald's", but I wanted to be naive and try something "new". The food was just as bland as the box that it came in, not a pinch of salt! The side sauce didn't help because that sucked as well, and no I'm not being facetious. I was dumb enough to get a dessert too, I went with the "Tres Leche Cake" which was damn me regular yellow cake (not sponge) with FROSTING (not whipped cream) and...wait for it...NO LECHE! Don't believe me, I've posted pictures of it. $20.58 worth of disappointment is what I got instead of wings, fries and dessert. Whoever these people are that own these ghetto wing shop chain restaurants, really need to stop deceiving people with multiple name changes, your food is f---ing trash and I'm sure that you'd never feed this crap to your own families.

I've been wanting to try this place out after it opened and it wasn't bad. It was affordable and has a ton of chicken options. It's your typical chicken spot in the neighborhood. I ordered the wifey found out sandwich and the 4pcs chicken wing dinner with fries. On the menu it said the sandwich had the "hottest spicy Diablo sauce" but it wasn't spicy at all which was kind of disappointing. The wing dinner and the fries were alright. The other items on the menu had interesting sauces so I'd probably try those next. They're open until 11pm which is super convenient! It's on Columbia rd near Mass Ave so parking is scarce. You're better off walking if you live near by, getting delivery or parking down the street.

Not a bad choice for quick takeout or delivery. Decent spicy chicken sandwich that reminds me of an upgraded version of what you'd find at Wendy's (which is a good thing). Has a nice bite to it and goes well with a toasted by. Chicken tenders were very crispy and pair well with the buffalo blue cheese sauce. I would skip the tots though. You only get a handful for $5 and they are just your basic tots. Parking is tricky because it's street parking and there aren't many spots. You can hop out in front of the store with your hazards on if you are just picking up.

Been wanting to try this place because I love fried chicken and love to support local. This place is directly across the street from KFC and is limited to street parking which is very scarce. I suggest, order ahead and just double park. The person who gave us our food waited for us to pick up our order completing the mixed chicken and fries order so everything would remain nice and crispy which I greatly appreciate! We ordered the 4 piece mixed chicken which was good. The chicken isn't southern fried, just fried with minimal or no breading. It was good but it didn't have any seasoning to make it memorable. The fries were crispy but needed some salt but otherwise no complaints. Got the wifey found out, which was good but disappointed it wasn't spicy and overly vinegary from the pickles and pickled pepper and hot sauce. The chicken was a crispy boneless thigh which is uncommon, but was very well executed. The bun was soft and fresh, I think I'll order their sandwich that had bbq and cheese because that one looks good in pictures. Brother in law got the main chick, which he said was good. Overall the chicken was good and I didn't feel like garbage and full of regrets because of the high salt and msg you find at the main fried chicken chains. To finish the meal off we got the fried dough, hands down the best choice. These guys know how to fry their food!

Super excited that this place is walking distance for me because you know, gas is crazy right now! All jokes aside, first impression when arriving, clean and bright atmosphere. Two signs outside saying fried chicken and chicken wings. That got my attention immediately. I'm a huge fan of fried chicken so I had to give it a try. I ordered 5 fried chicken wings and two fried chicken (drums and thigh). When I got home, they gave me an additional thigh. Kudos to them! the fried wings were made fresh for me so it was super crispy. The batter was super flavorful . The drums and thighs were good also but I would like to get it fresh next time. The pieces I got was probably out for a couple hours but still good! Will definitely try their chicken sandwich next time and tater tots. They had sauces all out, just ask them which is which.

The place is located on a busy street and very limited spots outside. We got the main chick and the wife chick and both had very different flavors. Their white sauce is really delicious. The wife chick is spicy. At first, it wasn't really spicy but by the end of the sandwich, my mouth was on fire. We also got spicy fries which were just okay. They were the small densely packed fries. There's some seating on the side but most people ordered to go. It's a grab and go type of situation.

Late flight coming into Boston? Hungry and have to drive down to RI? STOP RIGHT HERE. Unfortunately I didn't get to go inside, but MAN was the food piping hot when it came to me in the car. After a hiatus from chicken over the past few months, boy oh boy, would I do an ALL YOU CAN EAT SIDE CHICK if it were possible. My husband ordered two different types of sandwiches, French fries, a mixed basket of 6 piece chicken, and two sodas. Total? $33 and WORTH EVERY CENT. I wasn't initially so enthusiastic about trying this place, but I was convinced and it was open till 11pm so WHY NOT. Across the street you'll find KFC, but I don't think I'd ever choose that over this. I even campaigned to bring my folks back here before I flew back...they went without me, however. *insert sad face* EXPERT TIP: Eat as much chicken as you can while it's H O T, because it seems to become awfully dry the longer it stays out in the cold....and reheated chicken is no bueno.

We all got the Sweet Love & let me tell you. this sandwich is SO BOMB it made me wanna dance in the restaurant. The flavors work well together, the bun was perfectly toasted & it wasn't overwhelming. even better i didn't even feel gross & weighed down after eating it. honestly one of the best chicken sandwiches i've ever had & the service was super quick & the guy who took our order is really friendly. 10/10 would recommend.

Run, don't walk to Side Chick! This new place in Columbia Rd is awesome! My friend had the Dot sandwich and I went for Disco Wings with Buffalo sauce. I got 10 of these double breaded fresh wings. Wish I'd gotten 6. They're HUGE! Hot & tasty too. We went for the Parmesan & truffle fries. You crispy wedges. Look forward to trying the cheese fries next tie because we will definitely be back. Owner-founder is a terrific guy and I feel confident Side Chick will soon even all of Boston's devotion.

This place is just amazing. On top of being a great location, with amazing food, and amazing options. They have an incredibly friendly and attentive staff. I often find myself nervous trying new places but the man who picked up the phone and served me my food was incredibly patient, kind and helpful. He went over all the sauces with me and offered his recommendations. It's rare to find good service these days let alone at a take away restaurant but Side Chicks got it all! I had the Wifey Doesn't know, Columbia and mozzarella sticks and they were all delicious! Will definitely be back and I hope to see this place thrive!

Ordered 2 chicken sandwiches. The main chick and the Dot. Both sandwiches were really good. Huge pieces of crispy chicken. The Dot was really impressive! It's a chicken sandwich with bacon and maple syrup served on waffles for the bread! It's like a portable chicken and waffles dish. The owner mentioned the wrong waffles were sent to them. They were supposed to be scallion waffles but they sent them sweet waffles by mistake. Honestly, the sweet waffles with the salty chicken were a perfect combination! I hope the owner reads this and knows how good those sweet waffles were! The owner was really nice too! I hope they do well. We will definitely be back here.

Side Chick was a big let-down. I placed an order on-line so it would be ready when I got there. I received a notice saying it was ready, but I had to stand there as they were inundated with calls - I couldn't even get the food that was READY to eat. The food was somehow both dry and soggy. I was really expecting a spicy delicious flavor bomb, but I was pretty disappointed.

Kudos to a REAL chicken place opening up across from two head KFC. Owner is AMAZING , top notch customer service, super clean inside and knows how to cook! The chicken is marinated for 24 hours and isn't breaded and dropped until you order so it is SUPER FRESH!! Super crispy and flavorful. I LOVED the shrimp with the special sauce!! Parm truffle fries are delicious (first time i had them on thick fries and didn't miss a beat!)!! Mac and cheese is light/creamy on the cheese if that is your preference. I will def be back next time in Boston!!

The Halal food feels safe to eat and is very well prepared. Usually I don't eat chicken because of the controversy but this is one place I will buy it.

Quick and crispy chicken. Can't complain. Sauce options are great and some drink options. They were missing ginger ale but it's ok.

I just ordered from this place from Uber Eats. The food is great. I'm so happy it's HALAL and the food does the job when I want a chicken sandwich and fries. I'm definitely going to order from here again. Keep up with the good work. As a muslim, 10/10 would eat again. :3

SO GOOD! I have been so excited to try this place, because I live right around the corner and it did not disappoint! Five piece chicken tenders was a huge portion and so crispy. So not sleep on this place

My husband and I finally tried this place just now. We picked it up seeing as it's a pretty short walk from our apartment. We tried the chicken fingers, an order of mixed fried chicken (the guy who waited on us, owner perhaps? threw in an extra piece...thank you so much for that!) and two sides: potato wedges and fried zucchini. All of it was fantastic! The chicken tasted super fresh and cooked perfectly. We're very excited to have this fabulous place so close to home! The young man and woman at the counter were very kind and accommodating. You could tell that they were getting a lot of orders (as they should) and they were rolling right along with the flow. Long live Side Chick!

Food was great. I ordered the hot chick sandwich and it was bomb!!!! Still hot and crispy even when it was delivered so it was probably made to order and the bun wasn't soggy like most places when you get it delivered!

Side chick has some of the best chicken sandwiches in Boston. My favorite is the Hella-hot-chick, but you can't go wrong. Also major props on the naming of all the items, great creativity! :D

I don't usually write reviews but I feel compelled to write this one. Never have I experienced such rudeness from a restaurant employee. I've ordered from this place 3 times. First time it was through their ordering website. I ordered at 635 pm and the pick up time was 7 pm. My husband went around 7:15 and the food was still not ready. We ordered the food to break our fast with. Understandably he was frustrated. They eventually got the food ready and he made it home in the nick of time. Second time I ordered through Ubereats. Also ordered around 630 pm hoping the food will be here in time for us to break fast at 730 pm. They were taking so long to get the order ready that the driver ended up canceling the order and leaving. A second driver had to pick up the order. Today I ordered via phone at 630 pm. The guy who took my order said it'll be ready in 15-20 mins and he said he'll fry my fries when I pick up so they'll be crispy like I asked. I called at 715pm to tell him not to wait and make the fries now. I also wanted to ask if my order was ready. He cut me off and said fries will take only a minute and he'll do them when I pick up. I let him know I'll be there in 5 mins. When my husband got there at 730 pm, he didn't even acknowledge him and took customers that came after him. When my husband asked him about our order he told him it's still not ready. My husband told him the order was placed an hour ago and we were told it'll be 15-20 mins. His response was "we're busy." My husband argued with that this is the second time this has happened and it's unacceptable that they can't get an order ready on time. He then told my husband he wasn't going to give him our food. So my husband left without our food. I called them and asked why he refused to give my husband the food and why wasn't it ready after an hour. He replied my husband was rude and then hung up on me. I've worked in customer service and I've encountered "rude" customers regularly. We still treat "rude" customers the same way we would treat any other customer. My husband was frustrated but he wasn't rude and didn't deserve to be treated that way. They should learn how to treat customers and not lie about when orders will be ready. They're blaming the customer for being upset for not having their order an hour later from when the order was placed despite being told it'll be ready in 15-20 minutes. I have receipts for all this. Initially we were excited that a halal spot opened up close to us and we've been telling all our friends about it. That's why we gave them a few chances despite our past disappointments. But we will never step foot in that establishment ever again.

Small portions for high price. Chicken sandwich, chicken and cajun fries good taste. Mac cheese small portions not so tasty.

It's a relabeled middle East fried chicken joint. If you want some cheap fast chicken this is the place for you. Personally I'd just go across the street to KFC same stuff.

I'm so mad I don't even know where to start. First of my husband went and bought chicken from this place with like 6 sides. We got 2 mashed potatoes 2 Mac and cheese some fries 1 fried pickles and 1 side of coleslaw. And like 10 pieces of chicken. Well to tell you that my family 2 boys and two girls and myself was so disappointed first of the Mac and cheese oh my word I don't know what type of cheese you guys use or whatever but is not good at all it's totally gross. The mashed potatoes taste artificial as heck. The chicken was okay and the rest I didn't even cared for none of us cared for it. It's now 10:35 pm and look at the food still here in the bag. Everything literally to the garbage.

Best chicken sandwiches in Boston, for a reasonable price. Not only is their variety of toppings interesting, the chicken itself is phenomenal. Crispy, yet moist. The bun was soft, but not soggy. Great service as well. Looking forward to going back.

Ordered on UberEats. Ordered the Hell-a-Hot Chicken Sandwich and the Mac & Cheese. The sandwich was too spicy to eat. I assumed it would be a regular buffalo chicken sandwich. It was also very soggy when it arrived. The Mac & Cheese had no flavor. I would not recommend this place.

First of all I don't really eat fish much but was craving haddock last night! I asked for the fisherman; crispy and it hit the spottttttt! Everything I ordered was on point, they followed directions to the T and my order was ready by the time they told me it would be. I tried the truffle fries-- i'm not really a wedge person but they were so good! Fresh hot and delicious, and they bring it to you curbside. Good customer service too! Amazing sandwiches and good sized portions. A must try for sure.

Best late night takeout in dorchester right now. Service is very polite and considerate. Everything is organized and fresh. The owner is a humble person who came from nothing and works hard to please the customers. Good prices and the chicken SMACKS.

Sorry for this review because I LOVE your food however I just got a delivery. 1. You labeled the sandwiches wrong, Next, I ordered a wifey found out and asked for the sauce on the side "got none" the hubby is not happy and lastly come on guys fried and tots are your cheapest item, we got 10 with our order. Very disappointe!
