Finally tried Side Piece Kitchen today in Tacoma @sidepiecekitchen. Literally the best biscuit I’ve ever put in my mouth and the best gravy I’ve ever put in my mouth. My go to breakfast is either chicken, fried steak or biscuits and gravy and this by far was the best biscuits and gravy I’ve probably ever had. I was so full and I still could not stop eating it because it was so good.! The vibe in there was so cute too. Congratulations to them, because they have got something going on there !! And the music was awesome as well.

I loved the vibe here reminds me of my grandma's house, and her home cooking. The food was so bomb I ordered the Maple biscuit with sausage and egg they call it the Sizzurup! Highly recommend it, cooked perfectly I wanted seconds lol. 😋 they had music playing which was my kind of vibe. The line wasn't too long, and you can order ahead if you would like, They have also have to go options. Most definitely coming back with friends and family!

I got really excited for the last week of August's specials as they were nostalgia blasts featuring dirt cup cheesecakes and teriyaki dippers which were my favorite thing to get in my school lunches. I had to practically beg my boyfriend to go and eventually just told him that they had a cosmic brownie cheesecake and he started telling me to get ready to go. We had an event to go to at 11am and arrived around 9:30-40amish and there was a line out the door but the staff here are always on point in ensuring there isn't too long of wait that we were efficient on time and able to dine in (we were ready to eat on the way up). The food was absolutely delicious, never had a bad experience here. I absolutely loved the presentation of the lunch meal and the teriyaki dippers were fantastic. My friend tried the Baca and said it was fantastic too! I also love that they have a fun T-shirt design contest and look forward to seeing the top three best designs. It's incredible how these guys are always able to come up with amazing specials, friendly service, and offer just great vibes with each visit. I feel like we visit them at least once a month, and honestly if I could I would try to come every week. We appreciate that they have a dog friendly patio. As a long time supporter of Side Piece Kitchen, I am so glad they are local, supportive of the community and small businesses, serve truly some of the best food in the country, and are just overall amazing people.

My daughters took me here for my bday. It is my first time. It was the best breakfast biscuit avocado ever!! I love it!! Next time will try other vegetarian options. Yum!

Love this place, the vibe, decor, people, and food. They offer a great selection of vegetarian (not so much vegan) options: all of these photos are vegan sausage. Thank you for having this option! The avocado on biscuit is one of the best things I've ever had. I'm not a fan of the cheesecakes or the packaging: while the restaurant clearly is dedicated to minimizing plastic waste, the cheesecakes (which are too sweet for me) come in plastic clamshells (even if you're dining in!) and all of the takeout seems to be in those plus plastic bags. Please use paper when possible, since plastic is forever.

When people ask me my favorite restaurant in all of Tacoma, side piece is always what I tell them. This place is crazy good, and has easily some of the best breakfast/brunch foods I've ever had. My go-to is the Stoner SOS, it's got some seriously amazing gravy, and frankly it's difficult for me to want to try anything else because of how good this dish as a whole is. The breakfast sandwiches are also delicious (and massive), and you're not gonna go wrong trying any of their cheesecakes. Be quick on ordering those though, as they can sell out pretty quickly. Also, kids aren't allowed in the restaurant, which if you're someone like me who doesn't like kids then thats a huge plus. I hope someday they can expand again, as the line cant get pretty crazy and seating is limited, but thats yet to deter me from stopping in.

*VEGETARIAN * I order their avocado biscuits which was really great. This was probably one of the best biscuits I have ever had. It taste good and decent quantity as well. People work here super friendly too.

We love Sidepiece Kitchen! The food is always top-notch with quality ingredients and made with care. Breakfast sandwiches, biscuits and gravy, latke hash browns, and even horchata in the morning? Yes, please! Their weekly cheesecake flavors are also a fun bonus. The owner is a force and really embodies Tacoma pride. They sell out often, so plan ahead. Go early and don’t skip the line. This place is absolutely worth the wait!

A great local spot with a kitsch groovy 70s vibe It's so hard in Tacoma to find biscuits and gravy that are vegetarian, let alone ones that are so (so!) good. It's a mushroom based gravy on top of a split biscuit that is large, fluffy, and yet hardy at the same time. It's our favorite in town - everything you get will be delightful They also have sides of eggs, biscuit sandwiches, latke hash-browns and a few other items. We also got sides of biscuits with the fig butter and honey butter; both were sweet perfection and delicious spreads. You can choose from different jams and butters with sweet and savory options. Lots of parking available. Sitting inside could fill up on a busy day so I recommend getting there early (on a weekend day) or having a "to-go" option ready incase you cannot snag a table. Oh oh they also have cheesecake that people rave about, next time we'll get some to go :)

The food was absolutely phenomenal -- every dish was bursting with flavor and clearly made with love and quality ingredients. You can really taste the creativity and care that goes into each plate. Whether it's your first visit or your tenth, you'll leave full and happy. If you're looking for a spot that hits all the marks -- great food, great service, and great energy -- The Sidepiece Kitchen is the place to be. Highly recommended!

From ghost kitchen to their own restaurant the food has been phenomenal. I love introducing people to them and they all become quick fans. Staff and vibe of the restaurant is great. Make sure you read the signs and know their policies on underage guests.

The food, service and cost was on point! So delicious, I wish My stomach was bigger! Highly recommended and We will be back! When they ask your "Biscuit" choice get the Cheese!!!

You absolutely have to get here before nine on the weekends. I was able to order and get a table around 8:50ish. The line was outside by 9:30. I ordered a cold brew, mimosa, avacado toast to go, the baca and cheddar scramble dining in. Three people joined me and they tried the biscuit and gravy and the loud pack. Every single dish was DELICIOUS. When I hear someone say hidden gem, this is what they mean. It's small, tucked in a corner, and barely presents as a restaurant. I live around the corner and pass by everyday and I had no idea this was a breakfast/brunch spot. The cashiers were really nice and they have someone cleaning constantly. It's also not overpriced and you will have no trouble parking. 10 out of ten for me. Absolutely recommended.

Got here a little late, they open at 9am but we got there at 11am about 30 mins wait in line. We tried coming at 1pm the day before and left because they were sold out of everything but cheesecake. Today cheesecake was sold out It's very divey. Assortment of music and lots of things to look at while you wait for your food. I don't normally order horchata but their horchata Cold brew was a winner. Not too sweet w/ coffee after taste. I got biscuits n gravy w/ 1/2 sausage and 1/2 mushroom gravy. If you are looking for a old school simple sos gravy, this would not be for you. SP took it up a notch and the sauce has a subtle kick. I really liked the jalapeños. When they say they make everything from scratch... i think the pickled jalapeños included. This is a self service establishment so don't forget to bus your table before you leave.

First time at side piece and we went in on a Saturday morning around 11:20 AM. There was a line out the door so we didn't know how long it would take; however, the line moved pretty rapidly since you order at the counter, you pay and then you choose your seat. There's actually a decent amount of seating so I wouldn't worry about that. We decided to order the hot hitter w/ a cheddar biscuit, biscuits (buttermilk biscuit) and gravy with half sausage and half mushroom, a latke hash brown that comes with sour cream and jam, an iced Horchata, and one ice Horchata cold brew. We waited about 10 minutes before our food came out and we were absolutely amazed. Everything looked and tasted absolutely delicious. The hash brown was evenly fried and it tasted so good with sour cream and jam, the biscuits and gravy were so luscious. The sausage and mushroom combo was perfection as the biscuit soaked up all of the gravy. The hot hitter came with a huge portion of eggs. I wasn't too big of a fan of the tomato jam, but I did love the bacon and cheese and the cheddar biscuit. I 100% recommend everyone go, if I lived nearby, I would definitely go back and try more items from the menu

Delicious sausage gravy on dense tasty biscuits. The bacon was thick but mine was a bit oily. I'm not sure but I'm guessing they fry the bacon. The service was quick considering how busy this place gets. There was a line out the door when I arrived and it got longer as I waited to order. The inside feels like they're trying to be retro with a 60s or 70s vibe. Pictures included of the entrance area. I'd come back for take out.

Scratch made delight! We had the taco "mess" as I called it, and the Hannah Montana. They were awesome. Believe it or not, you can taste the incredibly flakey and delicious biscuit under all the fixins'. Soooo goood!! We also got Lemon Up & Tagalongs cheesecakes to-go and wow! They are incredible!

The food was awesome. Cooked to order. Huge breakfast! We googled Best breakfast in Tacoma and this popped up. DEFINITELY fit the bill!! Order at counter. They call your name to pick up. Reasonably priced for the huge portions. If I lived here I would be back!!

One of our favorite breakfast spots. The sizzurup and Hannah Montana are my favorite sandwiches. I always want to try them with the cheddar bae biscuit but they are always sold out by the time I get there. It's that good, you gotta get there early! Have had almost everything else on their regular menu and every item was thoughtful and fabulous. Also love the collabs and rotating items. I especially appreciate that they enforce the no holding tables before you order policy that is plastered around the restaurant. I love when a restaurant has clear expectations and stays true to their word, allowing for a quick turnover so people that have their food can eat at a table and get out of the way for others. Highly recommend!

Side Piece Kitchen has the very BEST biscuits. Their biscuits are heavenly and the texture/flavor in each bite is perfect. I've had the biscuits on their own but the weekly specials and sandwiches are too hard to pass up-they always sound and taste incredible. In the past, I've tried their weekly special of the rosemary chicken and it's packed with insane flavor. The rosemary fried chicken was fried perfectly and it worked really well with the pickled onion, arugula, goat cheese, and lemon dressing. Just an explosion of beautiful flavors in one bite. The loud pack (on their set menu) is also very delicious, with prosciutto, goat cheese, aoli, and arugula. Their horchata cold brew was just ok(tasted watered down imo) My friend tried their mimosa and said it was delicious. I loveeeee how they decorated the restaurant with the picture frames (some of the pics have their staff in it) and artwork

It's so cute and welcoming inside. It gives off 70s style vibes, and they were playing great music. Everything we ordered was so good - having the option to get both mushroom and sausage gravy mixed was awesome. I will say it's a little small in there so getting a seat inside might be difficult, but you can get items to go! They do have a patio and I'm sure that adds a lot more seats in the summer.

All I can say is wow! Not only are the biscuits delicious, they are absolutely huge and absolutely priced perfectly. Both my friend and I had the Hannah Montana. Again, wow. She had the cheddar and I had the buttermilk and so fluffy and light. The sandwich had a scrambled cooked hard egg, ham, jam and some djonaisse. I couldn't eat all of it but made sure to take what was left home. Then I got a banana pudding cheesecake slice for my husband, it was the only one left since they were sold out of the others and I wasn't smart enough to order when we got there. He said it was wonderful. Be sure you go early because they sell out and that's it. Their service is prompt, friendly and even though I live in Auburn, for sure I'm going back.

Both sandwiches are the BACA. The sandwich was well executed. The only complaint is there was a lot of biscuit for the contents of the sandwich and sometimes it was a little bit too dry while eating it. The Latke hash brown was amazing! It was perfectly crisp on the outside. The mimosa and Bloody Mary were nothing special, but still good! There was a line right at 9am on Sunday when they opened but it moved quickly. Tables were filled fairly fast. There are some rules you have to follow like all parties being in line and ordering your food at the counter before you can get a seat so be prepared for that. It is small inside and it looked like most people were ordering to go, but most customers were kind and did not linger in order to make space for new customers coming in, who wanted to dine in.

Side Piece has been on my radar for a really long time. Veggie biscuits and gravy are hard to come by, and I've heard they do it well. This place is small so if you're planning on staying you'll want to get here early. I got here 10 min before they opened on a weekday and there were already people waiting in their cars. Thankfully I was in early enough that finding a seat wasn't a problem. This place is pretty simple with no frills, just great food and service! I loved the funky décor! Lots of old school cooking book covers with the occasional Playboy cutout that's been slightly obscured. A little surprising, but it's 21+ in here and I'm down for that - fun little Easter eggs! Since it was breakfast time I got a mimosa - which was poured strong! Strong enough I was told that if I wanted more OJ to let them know. Biscuits and mushroom gravy were a winning combo! I would happily eat this over and over again. I'm really big on texture when it comes to food so I didn't know if I wanted to save the left overs, but decided to try anyway. I'm happy to say that the biscuit held up with no problems and it was just as tasty the next day! My brunch partner isn't too into bread products, but was able to get eggs & bacon, which were positivity received. My only regret is not getting cheesecake. Next time!!

Seriously love getting breakfast from here, the Baca is my favorite, my kids love the Biscuits and gravy. Brass monkey is a must while waiting for the food. 90's aesthetic with the light bright, so dope. Usually pretty busy but well worth it. Looking forward to see how they progress. Always disappointed when they sell out before I get there but I like that they set a goal of food/people to serve and then they take the day.

I guess I'm just here to echo all of the previous reviews. The staff is AMAZING, the food is rock solid, the vibe is great, and the no A**hole policy helps when standing in line chatting before you can place your order! We ordered a bit of everything, a six pack of biscuits, two entrees (Stoner SOS and Avo toast biscuit), latkes, a horchata cold brew (don't pass this tasty cup up), and cheesecake for later! Priced super well for the portions, quality, and experience (plenty of leftovers unless you bring your A game appetite)! I LOVE this place and will be back again and again!

Over the weekend, I had one of the most enjoyable breakfasts I've had in a long time at Sidepiece Kitchen. My wife and I pulled up early as there is always a line and they run out quickly. Let me just say, this was worth the wait! I had the Sizzurp biscuit sandwich and it hit exactly how it needed to. That sausage was seasoned and cooked perfectly, and the biscuit held it all together like it knew it was the main character. My wife ordered the Hannah Montana, and I don't know what kind of sorcery they pulled, but that dijonaise and jam combo just made sense. It was sweet, savory, a little wild, and it worked. The biggest hit for me was the cheesecake I got...The Almond, Poppyseed Cherry was LITTY 2 T!TTY! I want that again and again! That's the only dessert I want. The vibe was cool, staff was incredibly friendly, and everything tasted intentional. You can tell Haley and Dante care about what they're putting out. It's one of those spots that leaves you full, happy, and already thinking about what you're getting next time. If you haven't been yet, you're sleeping. Sidepiece is definitely worth the visit. Also, if you're one of those people who wants to leave them a bad review...just stop. We know you didn't have a bad experience, you're just entitled...chill out, eat a biscuit and enjoy! Yummy breakfast sandwiches. We had 3 different ones and all were delicious! Even I; who doesn't normally choose biscuits as my normal bread choice enjoyed every bite of my (homemade tasting) biscuit breakfast sandwich. Staff was attentive & friendly. We got there at 12:22pm and out by 12:35pm. Couldn't eat there bc my daughter is 20 yo and you have to be over 21 yo to dine-in. It was smaller side with 2 halves for seating. And a patio outdoor seating area. It felt very retro quaint vibes, like you're dining at your friend's hippie mom's house, we didn't get there in time to take advantage of any cheesecake for the week. Next time maybe.

So many of my friends have been posting about Side Piece - it's eminently quaint and instagrammable - so I had to give it a try. I was initially going to take my parents when they were in town, but then I looked at some of the names on their menu and the cheesecake wall of.....let's say "cheesecake" (no slight against their food - it's flanked by pictures of topless women) and decided my partner and I would appreciate it more. Millennial businesses just hit different. Side Piece greets you with the promise that its food is "dank af," which absolutely sets the mood for what's in store. The kitschy 70s interior and muted color palette takes you back in time, and cheesy pictures of the staff adorn the wall. It feels like a business run by a little family of dorks! For some reason I was expecting disinterested, abrasive service, but we were eagerly greeted by a friendly cashier and enjoyed a warm service experience. My partner commented that she loves when diners like this have a table with their hot sauces out because it feels like she's home (a homeyness which means you also bus your own table). We ordered the Loud Pack (advertised as their favorite) and the Eggs Bis-enedict (eggs benny on a biscuit). But I was most excited about the fact that they serve beer for only $2.53. So of course we threw in two of those. The Loud Pack was astonishingly photogenic and the first bite was so good I had to lean against my partner to emphasize my glee. It's piled high on their signature homemade biscuit and it maintained its structural integrity throughout. Delicious. The Eggs Bis-enedict was creamy, rich, and massive. My partner made it through half before throwing in the towel. We had some concerns about the cleanliness - sticky cups and tables definitely gave that greasy-spoon diner feel - but if you're mindful about what you touch, Side Piece is definitely one of the best breakfasts in Tacoma.

Solid brunch spot in Tacoma with great biscuits and cheesecakes. I got their Hot Hitter and their matcha mint cheesecake. Both items were very flavorful. The hot hitter was so packed in substance it was memorable. The space is pretty small though.

So, heard about this place from some friends and decided to try them out. So first of all, you have to arrive early and get in line. Yes it's that busy. We arrived 15min before they opened and there was a line of 20-25 people ahead of us. With more pulling into the parking lot. The instructions from Side Piece Kitchen are clear on ordering and waiting to get your seat until you and your party orders your food. Good process as it's a small place and seating is a premium. Now the food. All I can say is bring an appetite as the portions are good sized and the biscuits are huge. The meal was awesome and the lady taking orders and directing traffic was great. She helped us newbie's and we were very happy with what she suggested. Service was great but sadly no Decaf Coffee (ok some people have to drink it) but other than that a great experience. We will be back, but we will get there earlier to beat the crowds that continuously line up all day.

My wife and I stopped into Side Piece Kitchen for breakfast while passing through Tacoma. Free parking can be found in the parking lot. Discover is an accepted form of payment. Indoors is extremely small with limited seating options. Outdoors offers a few more tables. Minors can accompany and adult to place take-out orders; however, minors cannot sit inside or outside due to space limitations. Orders are placed and paid for at the counter, resulting in minimal interaction with the staff. The single restroom onsite is the employee restroom which is granted access at the back of the building by an employee. During our visit, an abundance of people was placing take-out orders. Alcoholic beverages are limited to mimosas and beer. The menu is creative and fun to look at trying to decide on what to order. My wife and I finally decided on sharing the The Sizzurup for $13 + $0.50 up-charge for Cheddar Bae Biscuit: 2 maple sausage patties, white cheddar, 2 hard fried eggs, maple syrup and chives. Our sandwich was hefty but oh so delicious and worth every gluttonous bite. Staff was friendly enough given the minimal interaction. Overall, we were both happy with our breakfast choice. Sharing our sandwich took some of the carb/calorie guilt away.

This is super popular. We arrived just before 11 AM on a Sunday, and line way out the door. It took us over 20 minutes to reach the front and unfortunately the party ahead of us got the last Cheddar Bae Biscuit! Get here early for best results! The restaurant is counter service, but since the eat in area is so small, the cashier monitors the cameras to see which tables seem to be clearing out soon. Although, they don't actually clear tables and require the customers to self regulate (one party was already done eating when we placed our order and they were still there chatting after we had finished eating about an hour later....). Sizzurup Sando, Buttermilk Biscuit ($13.50) - Starting with the biscuit first - absolutely heavenly biscuit. It's super fluffy, buttery, and moist on the interior, yet it has great structural integrity, keeping together very well (great for sandwich purposes), rather than crumbling apart. It's not too floury or dense at all, and is baked until the exterior develops a fantastic hard crust, a great textural contrast to everything in the sandwich. A person at the table next to me was complaining that their biscuit was too dry and dense. Are you kidding me? We must be eating entirely different dishes or something, because, coming as someone who grew up eating biscuits in the South, these are excellent, albeit not the flaky type of biscuit. The interior sandwich ingredients complement the biscuit so well, and the construction is equally stellar. First, starting from the bottom layer, cheese, complete with melted cheesy stretch. A sausage patty, soft in texture, savory and slightly sweet in taste, doused with Maple syrup. Then a fried egg, only one due to the egg shortages. It has lacy brown edges, and the yolk is broken and cooked hard, which helps the structural integrity of the sandwich. Then the same mirrored on the top. There's a small smattering of minced chives that graces the egg, but it's not noticeable given the other flavors. Everything works very well together, creating a perfect symphony of flavors with every bite. (5/5) Biscuits & Gravy, Buttermilk Biscuit ($13) - With the biscuits and gravy comes a choice - classic sausage gravy, mushroom gravy, or a mix of both. We of course went with the mix, thinking it would be sausage on one side, mushroom on the other. Unfortunately, that's not the case - instead, Side Piece actually mixes both together into a single solution, combining the best parts of both types into one. The gravy is well seasoned and distinctively orangeish in color - perhaps due to the addition of copious amounts of paprika? It's thick and rich and is emulsified very well, leaving no hint of floury bite that sometimes sausage gravies can exhibit. The mushroom boosts the umami, and the small pieces of sausage adds addition fat and meatiness. There's onion as well - hey it's a vegetable, so that makes this dish healthy, right? The biscuit surprisingly holds up very well against the rich gravy - there crust still somehow manages to stay decently hard even soaked through with the liquid. The biscuit to gravy ration is on the dot, allowing each bite to be perfectly balanced between the fat and carbs. (5/5) I really enjoyed my meal at Side Piece Kitchen - I can see why they are on the 2025 Yelp Top 100 list. They also offers weekly specials for both the main dishes and cheesecakes. That makes it a fun place to visit every time. Bathrooms - Single water closet. I like that the sink is outside and easily accessible, especially since the maple syrup got my hands very sticky .

Side Piece is fantastic, if you didn't already know. We go back to the days when she was still at Sig. Glad this happened, the spot has a cool 70's vibe and a matching yacht rock playlist. Order at the counter, DO NOT save seats. My wife had the egg biscuit-eddict with salmon and I had the Loud Pack. Both were superb. Filling and delicious. Messy too, but worth it. So good.

My first time at this place but this is definitely the best biscuit sandwich! Here it is: get the baca add mama lil pepper aioli and pickled jalapeños. You can thank me later. I love the tacoma proud spirit! There is nice seating outside and dog friendly. The food came quick after ordering.

Came here on a Sunday. Arrived 15 minutes after they opened and there was already a line so for first timers, expectations were high & they definitely delivered! Service was great, they tend to the customers that are dining in. Decor was cute, music was upbeat and definitely turns up the retro 90s vibe. Food was good. We Got the baca sandwiches and the homemade biscuits were perfect. Not dry, flavorful and would totally try by itself next time. Only thing id said is that for a sandwich, I wish there was less biscuit. Like it definitely overtook the whole sandwich but not in a bad way. It all depends on preference. I'd definitely come back and either get the biscuits and gravy or the eggs benny. The couple sitting next to us had the biscuits & gravy and smelled so good! Location was so random, it's in a complex next to a gas station but I guess you can say that's what makes it extra special. Hidden gem of Tacoma. Will definitely be back again!

I LOVE this place - sooo tasty, excellent people (we got to meet the owner, and she is super cool), I freaking love how you order-then-sit-then-eat; more restaurants should do this. It works! I had a Bloody Mary and the Stoner SOS. I could have eaten it all if I didn't want to move for the rest of the day! Next time, I'll bring Tupperware. We will most definitely be BACK!

We've been wanting to try out side piece kitchen for some time now & we finally had a day off together to go check it out it was worth the hype & the wait. The biscuit flavor was so buttery melt in your mouth, the bacon was THICC & delicious. The maple syrup compliments the sausage/biscuit SO well. The inside was so cute I loved the Christmas decorations. Staff was nice & quick service too! We only had to wait about 10-15 for our food once the order was placed. We will definitely be back.

Listen if the name doesn't get you, take a look at the menu. The names of the items are hilarious. The owner has been in every time and is so amazing and friendly. The drinks are strong, they even have an MD2020 drink. I loveeeeee their gravy. This place is a must go to whenever I'm in tacoma. I've also definitely driven here in the morning from Everett because it's just that amazing. The Bloody Mary comes with the cutest mini biscuit. They also give you the option between regular and cheddar bay biscuit. I just wish one of these existed in the north end where I live. The inside can be challenging to find a spot but it's worth the wait and typically you can squeeze in somewhere or go outside, but it's definitely getting a little too cold for that. Please stop by here!!!

I'm so glad we have another place that specializes in cheesecake in Tacoma besides Cheesecake factory. Nothing against cheesecake from Cheesecake factory, but if you've tried Side Piece Kitchen's cheesecakes then you'll understand. Their cheesecakes were decedent yet not overly sweet and not too dense/our thick where you get that stuffed icky feeling after eating something that was super heavy in cream and cheese you know what I mean...Also, the slices are freaking HUGE for about $6-$7 each, yeah get it! The biscuits were also good. I'm usually not a biscuit person because of the dry texture, but these biscuits were nothing like that. They were packed with flavor and warm/buttery on the inside. Did I have to mention again that their biscuit is also HUGE! I recommend trying their biscuit with one of their homemade jam/jellys. It's the perfect combo.

Best biscuits and breakfast! Side Piece Kitchen is a no-nonsense, seriously great place to eat. Prices are reasonable, biscuits are delicious, decadent, flaky and huge! Their biscuits and gravy is epic in every way - gravy is delicious with lots of great meat over their biscuit! Portions are very generous too. Service is outstanding and relatively quick considering they often have lines outside their door. Such a cool vibe in the restaurant - lots of retro pictures displayed that takes you back to the past. Highly recommend this fantastic spot in Tacoma!

I am ashamed to say this is my first, extremely belated visit to SPK. I've been following them on Instagram since they were takeout-only from a little popup til now, where they boast a full-blown brick-and-mortar establishment. Parking is tight in the strip mall. They're perched on the corner with a cute front patio for extra seating. Line can get out the door. You order first at the counter then find a seat. I got takeout since all the tables were taken. Food is great. I am normally not a fan of biscuits BUT THESE ARE THE EXCEPTION. I got the avocado biscuit toast, which is a whole meal and a half. Plenty of avocado, tomatoes, and a large buttermilk biscuit sliced in half and toasted. And it is served Benedict style with two poached eggs. Quality ingredients and freshly made! So good! I also got the churro cheesecake, which was one of their special "Taco Bell" themed desserts. A little steep at $12/slice, but also this was delicious. Support local businesses and eat here instead of IHOP! NOTE: They are 21+ for seating. They serve mimosas and beer. Kids are allowed takeout only. Menu is available online on their website.

Heard that this was a must go spot. Headed there pretty early, or so I thought and there was already a line out the door. But the place is pretty small. They did advise they are working on expanding the restaurant but no ETA at this time. You'll find once you get inside, you're in a time warp. There's a few tables inside and outside. But you know how our weather is, so be prepared if you have to eat outside. Now the food. Got a few different items. The biscuits and gracy are Def on the savory side, but for me personally a bit too rich. Turns out , I just like the old school black pepper gravy. But since it is different, I'd recommend getting it with the cheddar bae biscuits (There is slight upcharge for this.) Get half mushroom gravy and half sausage so you can taste both. Also got the Baca which you can pick a regular or cheddar bae biscuits, which I was advised was pretty tasty. This sandwich has bacon, avocado, sharp cheddar, and a hard friend egg (you can't change the way the egg comes). Also got a Pineapple Upside Cake, which was actually a cheesecake too. The staff is super friendly and the vibes is chill. One thing to keep in mind, if you have an AMEX card, the charge may show up as a women's day spa. I asked the restaurant themselves if they knew it does that and they are aware. They advised when they spoke to AMEX, it seems they are going off old GPS coordinates and it still registers as the spa and not the restaurant.

Seen a lot of posting on social media about this business and decided to give it a try. What I can say is the athmosphere is a on a whole blast from the past for sure, nostalgic child hood memories came protruding as I stepped in from the pictures and decor. The menu is pretty creative and interesting. I tried the stoners SOS and my sister got the Sizzurup. All was super tasty! The SOS was generously served in a big portion and took the rest home. Horchatas was nice and refreshing! Oreo was great for chocolatey lovers. The latke was like a hashbrown and was served with like an apple jelly that was fiiiire! Service was great! Everyone seemed to be in good energy! From observing while waiting for food, cooks were happy and chatty and the energy was great! The owner who took our order at the front was great, chatted up, and was real hospitable to all guests. She even posed for a pic! Recommend try it if you're in the area.

Ordered several sandwiches. Not impressed at all. I make better breakfast sandwiches weekly. No espresso, only drip coffee. Overpriced for what you get. Won't be back Update: thank you for the sarcastic response. Maybe if you put more time into product development and less time into being unprofessional, then you'd be more successful. And you're right, I only leave reviews when I'm HIGHLY IMPRESSED or left VERY DISAPPOINTED. Sorry that your establishment was a DISAPPOINTMENT. Lol All the best :) I will do that. Side Piece Kitchen has been a place I wanted to try for a while now. I strongly recommend getting here right when they open. There may be a line but it will be nothing compared how it would grow as the morning goes on. The food here is excellent! So the line is definitely warranted. I got the Hot Hitter Biscuit Sandwich and loved it! The Tomato Jam and the jalapeños really made this biscuit sandwich great! The biscuits are made perfectly and would be awesome with just with butter but the sandwiches are definitely something to try out! We got a side to share, Steve and me and got a Latke to share. Yes, thus type of hashbrown was good by itself but add some sour cream to it and it's another winning hit! Not only is Side Piece Kitchen is known for their buscuits but they are also known for their cheesecake which is truly phenomenal and out of this world! We got a nice, big slice of a pistachio cheesecake and it was absolutely fantastic! Some of the best cheesecake I've had in a very long time. Ordering all that food we weren't able to eat it all there so the cheesecake went home with us. But if you choose to go here make your primary focus to be anything with biscuits and/or cheesecake!

Service: kind and helpful people working behind the scenes. Giving great recommendations with patience for a new timer. Ambiance: the vibes were definitely there. Just a chill set up with a decent amount of seating. Food: First our drinks were pretty good. My girlfriend got the mad dog which was like a stouter version of a mimosa. I got the Bloody Mary which was amazing. On to the food, I got the hot hitter and it was incredible. The tomato jam the pickled jalapeños was a great pairing. My girl got the sizzurup with the vegan meat sausage option and that hit the spot too. I think what tied it all together was the side of mushroom gravy we got on the side. Next time I'm ordering one more cause I'm not trying to share. Check it out early because they sold out as we finished eating.

Was recommended by some friends to check out this little hole in the wall and my husband and I were so happy to have dropped in! Despite how kind of pricey some of their menu items are and how small the inside of the restaurant is, this place gives off a really cozy, no-place-like-home feeling that allows you a chance to just relax and enjoy your meal. If you want some of their most popular items (ex. eggs benedicts) you have to go early because they sell out quick. Otherwise, everything else they offer sounds so good and they give A LOT. I got the Croque MaDAMN, cold brew coffee and brownie cheesecake while my husband ordered The Sizzurrup and added thick bacon (it was REALLY thick), Horchata, orange juice, and the pineapple upside down cheesecake. Hailey, the owner, took our order and was so nice and patient with us as it was our first time being there. You can tell she's very passionate about her business and really enjoys doing what she does. Also, I love seeing how involved she is at the front of the restaurant and working alongside her employees; personally I believe that when I see this kind of work dynamic that means everyone's striving together to make the business operate smoothly and shows that she cares for her people! Overall, the food was really amazing. I very hit or miss when it comes to eating and enjoying biscuits just because I fear they'll be too dry but the biscuits this place serves are so good (the cheddar bae biscuits are a must have). Both our biscuit sandwiches were incredibly flavorful and filling. I was a little disappointed with the cold brew coffee just because it took constant stirring to get the sugar to dissolve into my coffee (the cold brew is served to where you can pour your own creamer and sugar but the sugar sinks to the bottom), but other wise my cheesecake slice made up for it. We're looking forward to returning again in the future to try more of what they have to offer!

The restaurant has a cute little vibe and the music was good. The food was delicious and the portion is huge!!

WORTH THE WAIT!! We arrived about 1045 on a Saturday morning expecting a wait, it took about 40mins to get through the line but once you place your order the food comes quick. Stars of the show were the Avocado toast, the cheese mixed with the tomato salad and poached egg is everything. I love a savory yet refreshing dish. The Bloody Mary had so much flavor, and the horchata cold brew is such a great idea. I wish more places did this. Cute little place, very retro and cool ambiance. Would totally wait again for this meal! Almost forgot the mango lime cheesecake also delicious!

We saw this restaurant on Instagram and I could not resist it because of his name and because how good the biscuits looks online so we went and I have to say that the biscuits were dry and the biscuit to meat/cheese/egg ratio was not balance. It was a lot of biscuit and not a lot of other things so I didn't really enjoy it as much as I thought I would. Inside the store was very sexualized photos of women so would I take my kid here? No and that was disappointing. The bathroom access was outside the building outside - even though that the bathroom itself was inside the building .Service was super pleasant. I think this is a great visit restaurant to visit and I think it's very interesting inside.

I will say, I didn't truly realize why you have to be 21 & up to enter, until I entered. They serve alcohol & there are some naked Waldo's amongst the pics & art work. But beyond that, the ambiance makes you think of That 70s Show. I got the Hot Hitter minus the bacon & added chicken patties, with a Cheddar Bae Biscuit. I don't remember what my friends got ‍. I also order grapefruit juice. It was delicious.

The hype is real. Nothing I can add that hasnt already been said, but I am so happy for another great breakfast spot in Tacoma. Its kitchy and fun inside. The food is amazing. The staff is fun. I cannot recommend enough. Seating is minimal, but it feels like the food would travel pretty well. Tacoma is really killing it with new food and I am so happy for their success!!
