Arrived, heavy pat down, thought we were almost on a date or something. Bartender passed me a few times. Then looked at me for a second. Then left. Then came back and then served me. Few moments later a bunch of White men walked in and she immediately served them. Why Black women why? She did make a good Long Island tho.

Swung in for a drink and appetizer before a concert. Small area but good service. Drinks were good. We went with the Cajun garlic parm tenders and fries and the sauce was on point. Would go back when in the area.

Aalyiah 1 of 1 ! She makes the best drinks and they need to add her drinks to the menu ! You gone have great a time and A1 customer service❤️

My husband got the wings and was sick all night. There was no alcohol in our drinks. The cat fish tasted fishy. Don't recomend. The ladies sitting behind us were fun, that made our visit.

Definitely a vibe. Food surprisingly flavorful. Did not expect that from a night club/lounge spot. The salmon bites with lemon pepper sauce was clutch.

I came in on a Thursday and Maurice and Rose were absolutely amazing. I enjoyed two lemon drop martinis (the lychee one is AWESOME and very flavorful ) and i paired it with Shrimp Alfredo pasta and it was beautifully seasoned and it was enough for 2-3 servings depending on how much you eat. I am completely blown away by this place and although it is my first time here it won’t be my last ! Please come and check this place out i promise you won’t regret it ! Speaking for the heart no paid promo !!!

Tamara listens, she understands, she’s everything they’re not. Respect for the law! Tamara keep pushing. The establishment in general was impressive. Every major city needs and deserve a sidebar!

Absolutely worst experience ever. The place was understaffed. Was 4 o'clock on a Thursday. We had a party of six. The place was very small. The bartender had to take our order. It took him over 20 mins just to take the order, he didnt know the menu and was getting frustrated when we ask questions. A couple of us had food allergies, When he kept repeating and never putting order in, we asked him if everything was OK. He got an attitude, screamed. Cursed us out and walked off. This was passed embarrassing. While my group walked out. I wanted the manager to take some type of accountability. Because he was standing right there at the bar. I did scream over to him was he going to do anything. He told me I needed to wait because he was taking care of someone else. When he finally decided to come to me. He had no remorse, told me to order or leave because he could be doing something else, I asked him if would he be making the bartender apologize, he said no, if he wanted to he would have, and that he didn't hear his side. The whole time, the bartender and another waitress were laughing about the bartender having an attitude. The whole team that was there was inappropriate and unprofessional and especially the manager. It's a cute Lil sports bar with a limited menu. But definitely would NEVER RECOMMEND ANYONE TO GO. If I could give a negative 100 I would. P.S... the order was never put in and we never got any food and was there over an hour with this foolishness.

Yelp

Yelp
My experience at Sidebar began just fine, but things quickly went downhill. Before I touch on negatively, the salmon bites with the remoulade sauce ........ superb. The menu drinks were pretty sweet, but if you order something simple, you'll be okay. The overall ambiance is chill, mainstream music - they have hookah if that's your thing. The service was subpar--our waitress wasn't very attentive, but that wasn't even the biggest issue. The real problem came during checkout. She intentionally added an extra $10 to my bill for drinks I never ordered, seemingly to pad the already included 18% gratuity. Worse, She was deliberately sliding the screen, trying to prevent me from reading / noticing the included gratuity. I had to stop her and ask for the transponder myself so I could review the charges properly. That kind of shady business practice is unacceptable. To top it off, they don't accept Amex--something that is mentioned nowhere on the menu or by the server. Given that their menu is digital, I'm sure they'll throw a Canva edit in after the fact to fit the narrative. Her reasoning is because of charge backs, but after my experience, it seems as if it happens for a legitimate reason. The difference is supposedly being refunded, but if I don't see it in 3-5 business days, I'll be taking it up with my bank. It's disappointing to encounter this kind of dishonesty in 2025. I'm not even going to touch on the experience in the basement. If you're looking to be finessed, you'll have a grand time here.

Yelp
I really enjoyed myself at the lounge. I had so much fun on Thursday night, that I visited on Friday as well. Everyone from the security guard, the host , to the waitress were respectful and a vibe! I wish I remember the host and waitress names. They were beautiful black women. They were so dope that I plan to visit this location every trip back to Atlanta.

Yelp
I never would've found this place on my own, but a friend whom I haven't seen in years was in town from Canada and this is where we caught up! The bar area is small/tight but very nicely designed--like an upscale tiny bar. There's a patio area off the side where people were enjoying outdoor conversation and smokes. The bartenders were great and they have a full menu that is limited late night. Rather than eat there, we opted to go around the corner to a diner that is also open late night. While inside, we could hear the music playing upstairs. I learned that there is are other levels that you have to pay a cover charge to enter. We opted to leave for food instead, but this place is a good vibe and I'd definitely check out the "club" next time.

Mandie C.

Yelp
Food was great and the staff were very friendly. My dish was pretty heavy on salt but everything was cooked perfectly.

Yelp
Came here on a Saturday afternoon, and it was a great experience. Our bartender Tamara was amazing! She was very friendly and knowledgeable. Our drinks were delicious! I recommend the "Blue Breeze." Tamara told us about how this place becomes a nightlife destination and we were very intrigued. We will definitely be back!

Yelp
Sidebar is a good place to chill that's tucked away in downtown Atlanta. It has multiple levels and even level has a different vibe. The food and drinks were solid. Hookah is offered. The service was not the best but it was not terrible. I like that it is open late so you will see different energies/party goers as the night progresses.
google avatar

Phillip W.

Yelp
3 levels of space which is great, reminds me of a New York dive bar experience with different flows on each level. Great spot for happy hour (only at street level bar preferably), wonderful drink specials and hookah, although there are no coal refills only refills on whole thing which is like a purchase all over again (3rd party so can't blame them) Tacos came out cold but decent for price Nachos were great and the fries shrimp has always been a hit: no pictures of these but will return to get them.
google avatar

Shani H.

Yelp
Stopped by here on a random night out. This place is a bit hidden but it has multiple levels so well worth the visit. Each level has a different vibe. I also enjoyed my salmon bites and the wings were a huge order. Looking forward to coming back.
google avatar

Helena M.

Yelp
Mid food. Didn't really enjoy anything we ordered but the fries. Would skip the chicken bites for sure. Shrimp tempura was decent. Service was meh. We had to remind them to put our drink orders in and at the end of the night I still never got my mozzarella sticks. It was slow when we came in and the first floor is kinda small so not too much seating. The saving grace is the $5 lemon drop which was decent but honestly I've had a better happy hour experience elsewhere. Don't see myself coming back.
google avatar

Teev R.

Yelp
Great music and vibes, but the 3 levels are underground and the service can be greatly improved! You'll have to park further away or ride share. We went with a large group and got multiple "sections". However, we waited up to 1.5 hours for our drinks and our wings came incredibly late. One of our food orders didn't come at all. That being said our wings that did come were phenomenal. Hence, the 3 stars.
google avatar

Clay G.

Yelp
We came here for some pregame drinks before the National Championship. They don't have a huge amount of space but we got there right at opening so we were able to fit our 8 person group in. We also got a couple appetizers with some wings and mozzarella sticks. The Sidebar sauce is a good choice for the wings.

Terrance B.

Yelp
I have never seen chicken wings so small ever! The salmon bites were really good ans so was the fish tacos- they were the best I've ever had.

Yelp
small, too bright and a weird crowd, would def pass on this bar next time I'm in town.

Yelp
A time was HAD! My friends and I decided to stop by on Taco Tuesday and we had a blast! We were a table of 4 and we were seated on the bottom floor. The restaurant was awesome, the first floor/garden room looked to be newly renovated and had low music and soft vibes going, the second floor/chateau room seemed to have a more lounge and section feel too it, the bottom floor/dungeon was a large open space with sections available as well! The DJ/music was louder on the second and third floors and that's the vibe we were going for. The food was really good! Each of us really enjoyed our meals! Around the table we tried: the 3 grilled shrimp tacos with cole slaw, pico de gallo, sour cream, fresh jalapeños, and house made sauce! The traditional nacho supreme served with fries (instead of chips), pico de gallo, lettuce, queso, sour cream, fresh jalapeños, and side of salsa! A chicken cheese, lettuce, pico de gallo, sour cream and fresh jalapeños quesadilla, queso and fries, and an order of the lemon pepper wings with fries and ranch! For drinks we had a few shots and a few rounds of cocktails, all of which were very strong! We will definitely be back on Taco Tuesday or Happy Hour!

Yelp
Taco lovers, I had the the ultimate Taco Tuesday at Sidebar (79 Poplar Street NW, Atlanta, GA)! This Tuesday is going to be epic with mouthwatering $3 tacos, $5 tequila shots, $200 Reposado bottles, $7 margaritas, and 1/2 off shisha. Service was fast. The food was super fresh and hot and the ambience was so chill. Their exclusive Taco Tuesday menu was a fiesta of flavors: Chicken, shrimp, beef, and fish tacos Nachos in 4 incredible styles: Traditional, Grande, Shrimp, and Fries Quesadillas in 5 mouthwatering ways: Mama's Cheese, Shrimp, Chicken, or Beef Chips & Salsa Queso Fries Chips & Queso Wings Taco Salad Jumbo Buffalo Shrimp

Yelp

Yelp
Service was good. Hidden low key spot to stop by for a drink or two. Super chill place to hang out at.
google avatar

Yelp
Decent place to go for a more chill vibe. Food was ok Drinks were good When you walk in you have the options to sit at tables or bar at that level or go downstairs. They have 2 floors below the main one. The main level was more chill and the mid level was a little more interactive. The bottom level had almost no one in there but it could have just been a slow night. Overall not bad, I would go back.
google avatar

LaNesha J.

Yelp
Loved the food and ambiance!!! Most of all the service!! I had the hot lemon pepper wings and the drinks were absolutely delicious!!! Tam & Maya were the best !!

Yelp
Great service and a cool late night hang. Like that it is off the beaten path. Always a chill vibe.

Yelp
Walked in and went straight to the bar. Ordered some drinks and appetizers. Service was a little slow but we were at the end and maybe they just forgot about us from time to time. Drinks were pretty weak. I felt like it was all juice and sugar and minimal alcohol. So we opted for a few shots. Cool thing about this place is that it had multi levels and each level had a different vibe. Try it if you're in the area just to see what it's about. But my suggestion is to stick to basic drinks and stay away from the premixed cocktails.

Yelp
Stopped by after visiting Underground Atlanta during the day on a Saturday. There was small yet diverse crowd there. They had two different football games and one boxing match on the TVs. The owner gave us a tour of the establishment. It is comprised of impressive multiple floors all with their own vibe. We opted to spend our time on the first floor. They were only working with a limited menu during that time. I ordered the salmon bites with bourbon sauce and fries. The food took a little long to come out, but it was worth the wait. It was served hot and seasoned to perfection. I thoroughly enjoyed the food and the bartender. The specific liquor that I wanted wasn't on the first floor, but they made sure to check the other floors and found it for me. I would return if in the area.

Yelp
Upscale speakeasy located in the heart of downtown Atlanta. Ordered the salmon entree with sides of asparagus and a salad with balsamic vinaigrette dressing. For drinks, I ordered bottomless mimosas and Bulleit w/ginger. My Bartender, Diamond provided quality service. I visited on Sat, Nov 26th, 2022 around 1 pm for brunch. Although I wasn't wowed by the food, I found the ambiance to be impressive. FYI: I was disappointed to hear the restaurant didn't have any bloody mary mix. It was on the brunch menu though. What gives? I'll be back to give Sidebar another try.

Yelp

Yelp
Great service and drinks with Mya!! Food was bomb! Thanks so much Chef Mack! ...and thank you for your service #navyvet

Yelp
Sidebar has come a long way from my old college dive. The wings changed, but they're still pretty tasty. The kitchen closes a little earlier than I'd like, so that's a bit of a buzz kill. What made up for everything was the auto tune karaoke. Such a great time. Would definitely be back (earlier) to sing karaoke.
google avatar

Yelp
I move to GA a few months ago & this has become my go to spot for wings! I go out of my way for the wings - the drinks are always good. I went for my birthday and it was taco night...of course I wanted wings and was going to leave. Instead, thanks to my girl Audrey they were able to accommodate us! The food, drinks, & vibes were AMAZING! Thank you so much sometimes the service is iffy but they 100% made my birthday special on a Tuesday!

Yelp
This place is fantastic. Ebony and Tamara made us feel welcomed. They were super friendly and helpful. We had been to several locations in Atlanta and we felt the best vibe from these two ladies tonight. Thank you for the experience today. We will definitely be back based on this experience.

Stephanie F.

Yelp
Listen 10/10 truly recommend. Run don't walk. The food is sooooo good at Sidebar everything I had was a high 8 or 10. I recommend going during lucky 7 which is on Thursdays. They offer an unbeatable happy hour. $7 seafood spinach with big shrimp and crawfish my bestfriend and I scraped the bowl, $7 snow crab clusters these were my FAVORITE so good. $7 crab claws BOMB! Now the lamb chops are on the $7 menu and it is very misleading but they are $7 as well but you have to purchase a min of 3 so they are technically $21 bucks and should not be on the $7 menu. I almost took away a star for that but because the food was so good and our bartender BRANDY was such a PLEASURE they still deserve 5 stars.
google avatar

Ebony R.

Yelp
Eh, was disappointed with the service. No one greeted us. Had to seat ourselves. My date and i quickly left. Not sure the next time I'll visit tbh..
google avatar

Empress M.

Yelp
Great ambience, the food is amazing. I sat with my bestie on the bottom floor. The DJ kept it bumping all night. Taco Tuesday was great. But parking is walking distance but was $20, so you've been warned lol
google avatar

Jessica M.

Yelp
Went here for happy hour and it was a vibe! Bartenders were great and the drinks, food and DJ was on point!

Bree S.

Yelp
Don't do it! Bad customer service! They kept moving our seats, low staff so the bartender was our server and she wasn't too attentive. I won't ever go back. Too bad too cause I was excited about going. I've been wanting to check them out for some time.

Yelp
Came across this hidden gem on Ig!!! First impression was love how low key it is! If you aren't a heel wearer I would suggest to wear flat or sneakers! When you first walk in you can see the upper level bar and tables, this is for the more chill and drink vibe. The lower level has two parts, the first part is like a lounge and it is such a vibe! Chill, low key, music bumping! The lower part of this level is like a duck off spot where you just want to relax and enjoy a night out! The food was pretty good but it could have been hotter, I'm not sure if that was on the server not grabbing it in time or kitchen. The tacos and spinach dip were amazing you would definitely love it if you like a kick to your food! The wings were called killer lemon pepper wings but had no spice or lemon pepper taste to them! The drinks were ok in my opinion and after the happy hour ends they only had specials on tequila for their Thirsty Thursday special! Our server was nice but gave vibes she didn't want to be there, the surrounding tables servers were dancing, laughing, and interacting with their tables more! The peach cobbler was to die for though!!! Overall it was a good experience and I would definitely go back!

Yelp
After another long day of enjoying the city, my friend and I came across Sidebar on TikTok. So we decided to go to there for dinner. We were unable to get a reservation due to our last minute decision, so we were not able to eat in the dining part on the first level where you entered. So we had to go to the first level downstairs where we were able to get a booth. Sidebar is 3 levels of fun and entertainment. The first level is where many go to eat dinner and dine in. The second level is like a lounge where you are in booth with music, hookah, drinks and a simpler menu to order food from. The bottom level is like a club where many are dancing and have sections you can sit in while dancing and enjoying a drink. We ordered the flight of margaritas and they were really good and strong lol. We could barely finish them lol. There lemon pepper wings with fries and veggie eggs rolls were good, and brought out hot. I advise if you want to eat in the dining area, reserve as early as possible.

Yelp
The one stars if for a bartender who served us when someone greeted us at the door rudely. A friend and I came into this spot on a weekday evening. It was storming outside, but we wanted to get out and find a place to eat and have drinks. When we walked through the door from what was clearly a storm outside, we were greeted by a rude gentlemen who did not say, hi, hello..nothing.... The first words out of his mouth was "Oh we closed" in an extremely condescending and sarcastic manner. I had to ask if he was joking because I really thought he was just trying to play a joke on us based on his very Ill mannered tone. It was going on 9PM and the place is not supposed to closed until 12AM. Granted, maybe they were going to close early because it was storming outside, but the door was still open, I saw drinks still being served, food still coming out and there were a few parties seated...with the music on. The guy could clearly see that we'd just came from storming weather and very likely had parked somewhere far since it's downtown Atlanta and to take the sarcastic tone with us really baffled me. However, there was a young lady who stopped him and said I'll serve you so we sat at the bar with her. I thanked her several times and later wondered what was the point of him running up on us saying there were closed? Please get on the same page. To the food: If you don't like teeny tiny chicken wings do not order wings. My friend had a burger that he said seemed they threw together. I asked for blue cheese and they gave me what looked like a tiny squeeze. (Pictured) The photo is from me dipping one chicken wing in. We were there for less than an hour when they started stacking chairs not only around us but right next to my arm as I was eating my $15 tiny chicken wings. Extremely rude, again. The bartender was nice, and made sure I got a drink I liked because they were out of an ingredient for a drink I requested. Like I said, the one star is for her. If you're going to be in downtown Atlanta where parking is not free with small chicken wings and dry burger, the least you can do is be one accord and NICE. This was just a terrible experience all around. 1 star for the bartender.

Yelp
This place is definitely a place you come when your feelings a lounge vibe and maybe have a larger crowd. It has 3 levels with different Dj's, I thought that was really cool. The menu was very basic and I didn't want anything on it. Also, you're better off getting shots at a place like this the bar was not fully stocked and had limited options and the drinks were so limited and basic. The vibe is nice but it's also important to have good food and drinks at an establishment serving them!
google avatar

Lorain C.

Yelp
Really enjoyed ourselves in this classy low key chill spot. Service was outstanding from everyone. Ordered the fried shrimp and fries, they were on point for late night munchies. Dj was great too. Would go back.

Yelp
Stopped by Sidebar for brunch with friends on a Saturday. Located on a hidden street of sorts, sidebar is an interesting dive bar meets lounge meets restaurant. For brunch dishes start at $6!!!! Bottomless mimosas are $20 and individual mimosas or bloody Mary's are $3 each. I ordered the omelette with cheese onions peppers and added turkey(+$3). The meal came with a slice of toast and the eggs were cooked perfectly. I preferred the mimosas made individually to the ones that were premade. Each day is the week the main area has a theme. Saturday was Saturday morning cartoons which were fun hearing the intros of old faves while catching up. They also have video games to play and a pool area. Hard to say the crowd. Everyone from GSU students to a bachelorette party to an older couple to my group of friends were there on Saturday. Hostesses were friendly and attentive.

Yelp
Sidebar... where do I start? Gorgeous, recently renovated interior, safe and experienced security, a wide variety of events, ample selection of liquor, active and present owners... not to mention the service! When you come to sidebar you come for the experience. Whether it be a birthday party, football game, or just stopping by when you're in atlanta for work... the food is always filling. From weekly food specials all the way up to expensive dishes, there's something here for everyone. Don't go to landmark diner and be disappointed... sidebar is THEEEE place to be.
google avatar

Jim U.

Yelp
A small place. They have a large liquor selection and a pretty good craft beer list as well. I'm not form the area so I can't really comment on whether prices were reasonable or not. Craft beers are about $7-8 avg. (+2 for 24oz instead of pint) Some more. Some less. Shots look reasonable 3 for price of 2 on the board. $12-18 for a triple. Freddie was prompt with service and friendly. It was slow at 6pm on Friday night. I'd come back. The place looked clean. It was on a small brick road so took me a minute to find.
google avatar

Lillian M.

Yelp
It was loud it was crazy. It was fun. I had a good drink and the fried shrimp for fresh and delicious. I wish the tables would've allowed us to interact with each other but we were downstairs and we all sat next to each other but it was still fun, but like I said, the shrimp were excellent.

Yelp
I came to this place the for the first time a few weeks ago with my boyfriend. My boyfriend used to come here all the time in college (its near GA State). Back then, this place was a good hole in the wall. When we walked in, we were so surprised. When you walk in, there's a marble bar with blush high top like booth seating. Its super cute now. Downstairs is more of a club vibe, it opens after 10 pm (don't quote me on the time). My boyfriend and I had already eaten so we just had some drinks and hookah. Both bartenders (upstairs and downstairs) were really cool. This is definitely giving cute ATL lounge vibes. If you are looking to eat, with any lounge in Atlanta, I would come before 10pm. After that, it will probably be hard to get seating. I will definitely be back because its so hard to find non touristy spots downtown. For the full vlog, visit my page @theboogiefoodie

Yelp
Stopped in for some nachos and drinks. Asked about a tequila we weren't familiar with, was told it was good to try, so we ordered two on the rocks. Got the check. Each pour was $50. So three orders of nachos and a few drinks was $250. That's some BS! Would have been cool if it was $20-$25, but $50 a pour. Brianna needs to do better. Nachos we ok. Ground beef with your standard store bought seasoning. Would be better if they used beef other than hamburger.

Yelp
I went here on the 24th of Feb 2022 and let me tell you something .... I do not understand what the hype is about but y'all are def lying! The second part at least was horrible it wasn't that much people in there, the food was E X P E N S I V E for what ? Salmon bites cost $20 when I had no fries and 7 pieces of salmon lol you kidding me ? And my friend had the chicken sandwich and FF $30 for her food and mindju the server wanna put everything together instead of separately for her to get some gratuity but when I say FINESSE CITY IS DEF ATL and it's not cool and the food had no seasoning at all like do better !!!!!!!!! That place sucks only thing good about it was the free shots for 1 hour ! And the DJ made that place other then that I will never be there again and to top it off it's like you walking into a "Tokyo Valentino " vibe at first (sex club) it's just weird but hey if someone is gay and LGBT ‍ no harm no hating here I think you would enjoy it it's a lot of under covers other then that the food SUCKS, the atmosphere is boring and can be better. If y'all see this ticket that's a plus I will be posting it and this is one of the places that's for the books cause I be on yelp all the time and this place is definitely a NO! Trust me!!!!! Don't even waste your time &.. what piss me off is the server HAD to write down what was "on the menu" instead of actually getting a menu so who knows how much shit really was this is cap central. ! Mindju lied to use to keep us there saying the kitchen was open while we waited 1 hour and 20 mins for our food when we shouldn't have ordered we def was gone go and come back the person in the front that "handled the money" even told us the kitchen wasn't open yet!!! So the servers lied and will finesse anything for you to stay just a heads up did I mention it's a NO FOR ME cause it is and I'm highly disappointed!

Yelp
The food was so delicious I could hear myself moaning! Atmosphere was nice. Must find this hidden gem!

Yelp
The food was ok, and the bartenders made a good drink. BUT they charge for everything, they literally charged me for bacon on a Salmon Blt... and when I asked why I'm being charged for something that comes on the sandwich, she had no reason, smh.

Yelp
DO NOT GO HERE! Worst service I ever experienced!! Left with no food that was already paid for. We waited over an hour for the food then waited an additional 30mins to try to get our money back. The whole time we were extremely patient. The owner was very dismissive and tried to slide us the money with, no apologies, no empathy, and did not care at all. Owner was totally trying to avoid all the guests with issues. Yes guests with an "s" we were not the only one. The food that was given to the table was cold. We asked for 2 Hennessy margaritas and received Hennessy and seemed to be simple syrup. Only one bartender was really working the other one was talking to guests not helping at all. Which caused service to be extremely slow. Would not recommend!!
