Yelp
What a fantastic space. My friend's buddy is an owner so he suggested we have a small gathering here. Its a very nicely appointed patio space. When you arrive, you place your starting drink and food orders. We arrived early enough to choose any seating. Tables are well distanced apart. Masks are required to enter. We chose their covered seating area..it included a nice tv and a couple of cooling units..huge plus! This is the only place I have been to so far that offers Voodoo beer by Tin Roof so I was in love already. They have a refreshing menu..not all typical bar food. So I saw they had Tuna Tartar..first thought was..sh*t should I order raw fish at a bar??!! The waitress highly recommended it so wht the hell..it was fantastic!! We also tried the shrimp remolaude which was tasty as well. This is such a nice space that I am very much looking forward to returning.

Yelp
I came to this little bar to hear an acoustic Mia Borders show. It's a small, cozy place with a couch, and comfy chairs as you walk in. A small bar, and a back performance room with a space for the performer. The back room fits perhaps 12-15 people. I've used the descriptors of little, small, cozy, and let's throw in the word intimate. The bartender is also the emcee, and made introductions and gave some info. Mia Borders was super. Her songs are powerful, and great life stories. There is just enough amplification to highlight vocals, and seems perfect for the room. Not a great selection of liquors, but it's "enough". They also have specialty drinks, although they were out of a couple of items when I was there. I REALLY enjoyed Mia's show, and this little "Sidebar" is pretty cool.

Yelp
Enjoyed the ambiance music and staff This place is a treasure Quality musicians Enjoyed my night Can't wait to see the next lineup I'm grateful there is a place to showcase and appreciate Live Musicians Music is an Art form that must be protected and appreciated to continue to at its core Real ( no editing/ no altering)

Yelp
This is a cute place: simple, little, comfortable. This feels like the bartender's living room and you get better service if he likes you more and you listen to his stories. He did make a decent old fashioned. They have a side room for listening to music. The night I visited thee was a cellist playing some rather odd electric cello...sounds, can't call them tunes. I liked this place but felt a little nervous walking back to my car alone in this neighborhood. A place with potential.

Yelp
I love this place. It's intimate and always has wonderful musicians playing. I love how off the beaten path it is, not everyone knows about it. I hadn't been in a while, so I was happy to go when my friend suggested the show. You walk in the door and are transported from the street (where the place doesn't look like much) and receive a warm welcome. The music venue part of the bar is to the side of the bar (haha right) and is almost like another room. It's pretty big once you actually walk around the corner. There's a lot of chairs so you can sit by the music! There's also couches and sitting area in the bar area. We had blood orange margaritas which were delicious and strong! We listened to the music for a while but it was just so crowded in the room so we were sitting on the floor, but we went in the other area and you can still hear the music! I need to go more often!

Yelp
This place was chill and inviting. Seating area when you first walked in gives you living room vibes, like you can stay and congregate with comfort. Live music. Hilarious regulars who treat you like they've known you forever. This is the place to go if you want to hideout from the crowd and just chill. Keith! thanks for the hospitality.

Yelp
Tucked away behind the courthouse and near the jail, this place has a "you're home" sorta feel. Everyone seems to know each other or will know each other by the end of the night. In a sense, there's so much passion on Tulane Ave, that you can tell people who visit Sidebar are fiercely loyal and fiercely regular patrons. They have an awesome variety of craft cocktails, or can serve you up your regular favorite. They serve food during the day and bring in popups for specialty nights. There's often a band playing and if you're nice to the bartender, he or she might fry up some homemade potato chips behind the bar. Whiskey and wine Wednesdays makes for an affordable night out, too! Not a ton of seating, but a large comfy-looking couch in the main bar. Bar stools if you're lucky enough to grab one, and then seating in the "music" room off to the side. Well lit street parking, easy to find.

Yelp
It's a great bar with wonderful music and a cozy, upscale ambience. It's in a bit of a random location next to the jail, but once you're inside, you'd never know. The drinks are really good. You'll find something you like on there for sure. Even though the bar is small, you can still sit in the parlor area and talk while hearing the music.

Yelp
I love Ana! She makes bomb drinks. And this place has bonded whiskey for $9 a shot. So. Good.

Yelp
I haven't been here in a while and definitely need to go back. Keith was super nice and the drinks were great. I also tried the turkey sandwich and it was pretty good but the shining start were the house potato chips. He pulled them out of this brine and dropped them in the grease and they were SO good. It's a small spot and has a lot of musicians and poets come to perform, which I think is great. It's beside the Tulane and Broad courthouse (criminal court). I first noticed it when I was interning at the district attorney's office and thought that the name was super cute because it's a bar on the side of the court and because you ask the judge for a sidebar when you want to say something out of earshot of others in the courthouse.

Yelp
I don't think I have anything negative to say about my new favorite bar. Even if the couch wasn't comfy and the music wasn't Always on point and the parking wasn't convenient and the sandwiches weren't awesome.... I'd STILL make this a regular stop. Still. Regularly. The whiskey selection is wide and more than my unsophisticated pallet knows what to do with, lol. I nod when Keith recommends things & he's never steered me wrong. The restrooms are clean. The other patrons are awesome. The food is delicious. I mentioned that there are sandwiches, right? The veggie wrap is the bomb. The house chips are it's perfect complement. And a well made cocktail just brings the whole meal together. All thumbs are up

Yelp
Small little deep cover bar that also offers live music in a bit of an out of the way spot you need to know where it is to know there is a bar there. During my most recent visit to Sidebar to hear some music there were folks of all ages (like most NOLA bars along with several dogs) inside all having a good time. The back room where the band was playing was filled up with what I would consider a few too many chairs really to be able to navigate through that part of the bar or even dance so I probably would have been happier with fewer chairs but I would say the same for JazzFest and French Quarter Fest too along with making fun of the chair scene for the jazz performances at Snug Harbor. Overall a decent little bar that still is a bit of a hidden spot for the moment.

Yelp
Unbelievable bar! It does happen to be owned by my Brother-in-law, but we could not be prouder of him. This area is being reborn and will soon be booming. The bar has a great setup, super comfortable, excellent menu of cocktails, beer, tea, and snacks. Keith is an amazing owner and bartender. Would highly recommend this to any locals or visitors to New Orleans. Sidebar also hosts private parties! Check it out!

Yelp
I never even knew this bar existed until I ended up here with the promise of a BBQ pop up. This is a nice little cocktail bar located in a soon to be up and coming part of Tulane. I think they are trying to be a fancy pants cocktail bar, but I got more of a lounge type of feel from the place. They were having happy hour when I was here and although I didn't partake, they were offering half off on draft beers until 7. The only reason I didn't take them up on the offer is because I'm not really a fan of the 4 beers they have on tap- no biggie. I enjoyed an Urban South beer in a can and I was happy camper. They have a small corner where I think they have an occasional band, and on the evening I was here they were showing the pre-season Saints game- minus the sound. The bar area itself is pretty small and there is one big sofa and some chairs for people to lounge on, but I can see this place being "standing room only" on busier nights. This wouldn't be my first spot to grab a drink, but it's a nice little joint if you are in the neighborhood.

Yelp
Came for the Super Bowl all you can eat crawfish and beer for $15. Supposed to start at 2pm. Not so much. The single working bartender struggled to keep up. Her friends showed up with a dog, I hate pets allowed in food establishments. The owner was doing the crawfish by himself when he should have been the bartender reading other reviews. Other people could have helped boil the crawfish why he worked on his higher revenue products behind the bar. In the end the crawfish were done around 5:30, a small batch. Not enough to feed more than 1/4 of the people there on a small table. Luckily when we asked for a refund he gave it back to us for the crawfish and beer and apologized. Unfortunately for me and my group we spent over $50 on other beverages while waiting for the crawfish. I then had to drive to 5 guys to get food cause I was hungry. Had there been crawfish I would have spent another $50 at least. I wish him luck and success but, in my opinion as a manager the owner needs to watch bar rescue to avoid the same mistakes of not managing the situation and just getting stuck in the details of doing the wrong things will everything else goes wrong. I'm giving 3 starts to be nice but that night for me was a one star Super Bowl first impression fail to many potential longer term customers.

Yelp
The cocktails are bloody awesome, Keith the bartender is super friendly. It's a little out of the way, just behind the courthouse on broad, but definitely worth the trip.

Yelp
Favorite bar in town. Many of the best musicians in the city. Frankly, the best damn Irish Coffee I've ever had.

Yelp
Loved this place. Heard master artist/cellist Helen Gillet last night. So relaxed and close up. Wow. People behind the bar were friendly. Hearing such great music for a suggested donation of $10 which you put into a Can at the front when you were so inclined - in other words very laid back and truly suggested not mandated. Loved the cozy outer room with sofas, too.

Yelp
You will never have to compromise at this bar. A creative cocktail menu and local beer offerings tucked into a warm, intimidating atmosphere. Everyone in this bar is friendly, creating a close-knit environment and the bartender, Keith is especially attentive and friendly to all. I especially love the setup that includes a nice comfy couch, loveseat, and coffee table.. honestly all it needs is a fireplace and I'd probably never leave (#COZY). We have been here a few Sundays to watch "The Walking Dead" and Keith makes tacos (!!!//free). He also has live music almost everyyyy night which is IMPRESSIVE. Go Sidebar!!

Yelp
Fist stop!!! So glad we found this little nugget. Wednesday = good music. Laughed a lot. Bartender/Owner was great. And not bad on the eyes

Yelp
Reasonable prices for pretty delicious food and drinks. $6 for a Bacon, lettuce, tomato, avocado sandwich which made me stuffed - perfect Park on Tulane would be my tip since area around courthouse is very crowded. $1.25 beers during happy hour - perfect New trendy spot in town. In an area of the city I would have written off, a gem is to be found at Side Bar.

Yelp
Now this is a bar! Great drinks. Just take the bartenders recommendation and go with it. He served a cocktail with scotch that even my wife loved! I wish this was in Houston because it would definitely be my go to watering hole.

Awesome, genuine bar with a great whiskey drink, A Thief in the Night. Bartender/owner was super and I hope he does well in town!
