Best Child-Friendly Restaurants in the Oakland, Berkeley, and the East Bay | Eater SF

"Antiques and modern bric-a-brac conjure a sense of entering grandma’s house at this homey cafe that offers a menu of eclectic comfort food to match. Superb salads, thoughtfully designed sandwiches (meatloaf shuns ketchup for a housemade hoisin aioli, for example), and rotating specials that can include pork quesadillas or shrimp enchiladas, all live harmoniously on the counter-adjacent chalkboard. There’s a kids menu but it’s not really necessary. The impossibly fluffiest and crispiest tater tots are a must no matter your age, as is dessert — peruse the pastry case for a take-home or in-house sweet. Seriously, it’s all good, and no wonder that a second location in Lafayette joined the Danville original in 2016." - Justine Jones

Folks are super friendly and nice. Sandwiches were superb. The bread wasn’t overly hard or soft. Just the right amount of toast. Drinks were in a huge cup. I couldn’t finish it. Parking nearby. All round nice place.

Lovely atmosphere with indoor and outdoor seating. Heat lamps and umbrellas make the outdoors feel very cozy. Food was very good, however quite expensive. Fries were crisp and crunchy in the best of ways. Service was kind and helpful.

Skirt steak sandwich and hazy ipa. The food here is great and the atmosphere is unique and very friendly for its nice little hide away. Tons of kids and family’s. Get here early!

What a great place! We went here for brunch with friends. My friend avoids gluten but she had good options in the menu. Same for vegetarians. Food was good for sure. Service was friendly and comparatively faster than other similar places. Loved the ambiance on weekend morning, it was busy and somewhat crowded yet very happy fun vibes made it a good experience.

There is only one cashier. The food was good. The poor girl had to work by herself on Easter Sunday. She's such a hard worker. The spam masubi was good, my drink was good. The one with the matcha and red bean was okay. The atmosphere was nice

Adorable spot!! Coffee drinks are delicious. The scone was tender and flaky like a biscuit. Such good energy, especially in the outdoor area.

I always have a good experience here. Service is attentive and friendly, the food is good, the latte is always delicious and the atmosphere is enjoyable.

Went here on a Sunday afternoon, it was quiet and relaxing. A nice place to just sit back and enjoy your favorite coffee and some pastries. We had the latte which could’ve been hotter but we didn’t make that request when ordering. Regardless it was nice, not too sweet, it had a smooth flavor that didn’t give you an after taste. We also ordered the lemonade which I can still taste; it was very refreshing. We ordered a slice of carrot cake and the chocolate sprinkle cookie. I would order both again. They had the perfect amount of sweetness. The carrot cake had the ratio of cake and frosting/filing just right. I would definitely go here again.

Yelp
I took a girlfriend here to celebrate her birthday over brunch. We shared the mac, #12 grilled chicken salad, and tater tots. I loved the mac- it was rich and decadent. The salad was perfect and I'd definitely get it again: lightly dressed with a generous amount of bleu cheese. However I would pass on the tots...smooth fried balls of bland mashed potatoes, basically. The oatmilk latte was average and served in a giant soup bowl without a handle which was not convenient, And my friend said the chai latte was watery. We wished there were flavored syrups instead of only simple syrup. Still loving Sideboard as a local cute and casual restaurant, but the items are definitely hit or miss so order wisely!

Yelp
Had the best time here with my family on a Saturday morning in March. We loved trying the different meals and baked goods. The most memorable items were the breakfast Mac n cheese and the English muffin! The staff were helpful and friendly, and I like that they have utensils and condiments available for self-serve. Their coffee and tea was hit or miss, my chai latte was surprisingly on the watery side and was more spicy than sweet. My boyfriend's mocha latte was just ok and arguably not worth the $7.50 they charge for it.

Yelp
Decent food but SUPER pricey for the quality of food that they're giving out. Nothing to note on service since you basically do everything yourself after ordering (seat, get utensils, fill water, etc.) Food (6/10) - I got the #12 Chicken Salad. I think taste profile-wise, it was decent. There was a nice mix of acidic from the vinegarette and the salad was very fresh. I think the grilled chicken breast had this old taste to it. It was a bit tough and dry. THe bacon was pretty much the same. It was tough and not that appetizing overall. The blue cheese is an acquired taste. It coats your whole mouth and is a pretty strong flavor so I would not recommend this unless you enjoy the taste of blue cheese. If you do like it though, then this might be a good option for you! I think my favorite thing was definitely the raspberry lemonade. It had a really nice sweetness (I'm pretty sure it was raspberry simple syrup) and went good with the meal. Super refreshing too! Service (6/10) - The line is pretty long, considering the waiter doesn't really have much to do. They basically take your order and then make you seat yourself. It was kind of confusing because they also didn't really give you instructions? They just give you the sign and you basically seat yourself. No other service either. They bring out your food without utensils... Overall, not bad dining but I think there are 100% better brunch spots.

Yelp
Great staff. The food was delicious and portions were hearty.Today was my first visit. I'll definitely be back. Highly recommend. There' is a wide selection available. I can't wait to return and try some of the delicious baked goods.

Yelp
Who knew this breakfast cafe served food and caters! Little less busy than their sister location in Lafayette which much more indoor/outdoor seating. Try the chicken and tator tots!

Yelp
Really good coffee! I love that they had a good milk selection. Even though i did not eat any food, it all looked delicious! Quick service too.

Yelp
I had only ever been to the Lafayette location, so when I saw they had one in Danville (I don't walk around there too often!), I took my husband here for brunch. I'm glad we got there when we did because it filled up FAST! They have lots of out door seating with heaters spread throughout the area, as well as some indoor seating. The decor is super cute, the staff is very quick with your order, & the menu options are awesome! Be sure to grab your own silverware, napkins, water, & a to-go box (if needed) while inside, since it is all self serve. We ordered the tofu Banh mi sammie & the chilaquiles, along with a pineapple ginger agua fresca & a cappuccino. Everything had such amazing flavor! I loved how many vegan/vegetarian options they had too. It was hard to make a decision! We will definitely be coming back next time we're in the area!

Yelp
Cute and rustic interiors with cozy farmhouse charm. Service was quick, and we enjoyed the casual atmosphere. It is the type of place you can enjoy a leisurely meal with friends and not feel rushed to leave. We ordered the bacon and veggie scrambles with a side of potato au gratin. Food was good but a little richer than our usual taste. Overall a solid pick for a weekend brunch.

Yelp
Hubby and I rewarded ourselves to Sideboard after our little 8mi bike ride on Iron Horse Trail. We followed GPS, but was a little "lost" when we didn't see the signage for "Sideboard" but noticed some tables with people seated on the porch. We figured this must be it, so we parked and walked to the little alleyway with tables around that led to the entrance on the left hand side. Found it! Menus are located right at the entrance. Gazed at the menu for a little bit before grabbing a table and hubby went inside to order at the counter. This is not a server type of establishment, but they help bus your table afterwards. Utensils, water, napkins, straws are all located on the left back wall or inside near the counter (I believe that's what the server said). Restrooms are in the back at the end of the alley walkway. -Raspberry Lemonade (5/5): Flavorful with a perfect balance of tart and sweetness -Pineapple Ginger Agua Fresca (3.5/5): Lighter side of flavor, no ginger taste whatsoever, but refreshing -Roasted Pink and Gold Beet Salad (3.5/5): Loved the plating with a big chunk of Point Reyes Blue Cheese on top. Citrus vinaigrette was pretty bland and we definitely needed more to coat our greens. The beets were perfect, but the grapefruit threw off the flavor profile of the dish, so we ate them separately. Would have been fantastic with candied walnuts/pecans. -BBQ Pulled Pork Sandwich (5/5): Almost drowned in BBQ sauce and loaded with more pulled pork than we could eat, this was perfect with the slaw and crispy fries. Many options on the menu, so I plan on coming back to try other items. Would definitely recommend you try SB!

Yelp
I came here for lunch with my hubby a week ago and fell in love with the place. The ambiance is just too cute. The place looks like a small cottage and the interiors is like a small casual cafe. There are many tables that are for self seating. It's got coffee shops vibes where you can sit relax, enjoy a drink and bite while reading a book or doing some work. Orders are taken at the counter. There is a good selection of breakfast items, sandwiches as well as pastries, snacks. There are coffees, teas, beers, wines and some mixed drinks to choose from. We got the pulled pork sandwich which was good. The pulled pork was cooked well and the flavor was great. The overall balance was good with a bit of cole slaw and good bread. We had a side of fries which was fine but nothing spectacular about the fries. I ended up getting a mimosa too which was delicious. The exterior had a lot of seating along the sides and back patio. They are all shaded and comfy with some heat lamps on cooler days. They provided blankets too which was a great touch. Though I didn't need it, the doggie treats were so cute and also another great touch. The outdoor seating ambiance was lovely too. It feels like you're in a backyard of a friends house and felt intimate and comfortable. Overall great experience and we'll be back again soon.

Yelp
The food was very good and healthy - try the Breakfast Salad - fresh baby kale, poached eggs, bacon, crunchy bread crumbs, green goddess dressing, and parmesan cheese.... You won't regret it... The French Toast is great with banana berry syrup with maple whip cream.

Yelp
Though I have only been here once thus far, I wanna bet that everything off their menu is a hit! I couldn't decide what to order for my 1st experience as there were soooo many options that sounded so good -- I really wanted to order several, lol but I knew I wouldn't be able to eat them all at once. The Order: - Slow Roasted Pork Quesadilla *** Special and exceeded my expectations entirely *** I would order this again! It came with 4 large pieces of quesadilla all generously filled with slow roasted pork. The entire plate was filled with salad that was placed over the buried quesadilla. - Vampiro (their take on a Bloody Mary - it was of good size and wasn't bad) - Olive Oil Cake w/ Orange Zest (one of my first times having olive oil cake and it was delish! Not too sweet which I loved). - Snickerdoodle Cookie (soft and yummy) - Thai Chicken Salad (my ordered and said it was okay, but she was expecting it to be different) My first dine-in stay at Sideboard was a success! My mom was the who shared Sideboard with me one afternoon for lunch. It is a place that looks a little tucked away if you don't walk past it on the Main Street side, you could miss it. There is an alley walkway opening that is on the other street where it is even a bit harder to tell what is down that way, but it does lead to the outdoor space of the restaurant. There was a line when we arrived, many people standing to wait, standing to order, and parties of people seated at the tables both indoor and out. The wait to order didn't seem unbearable. You order and pay inside at the front. You will receive a number and you seat yourself - there are a couple shared areas where you'll be able to get self served water, utensils, and condiments such as their very wide array of hot sauces to select from. Seating: there are small tables for smaller parties or solo visitors and there are larger family style tables where it is like communal seating. There is a rule they have for those who come w/ laptops to keep their stay to a minimum if they are there during heightened business hours. This is to help keep the flow of customers who dine in, a spot to sit after ordering. Nice place to be on a nice day. I like the outdoor and indoor / outdoor dining they have. It feels like you're in someone's backyard or house, it is so homey here - you really kind of feel like you're part of the community or neighborhood when here. I would come back and suggest it to others looking for a good spot to checkout!

Yelp
4 stars for the flavor of the food. Minus a star for the staff who just seem miserable! I don't know if it's just too early in the morning for some of them to work but man they never seem happy. So unfortunate! The food / pastries and coffee is to die for. Except, I will say it's a pretty expensive "mom and pop" type restaurant. Also, I'm not sure why they turn the screen around to ask for a tip when you have to get your own silverware, coffee etc. This is a pay at the counter restaurant / find your own seat. I personally only tip off service. ‍

Yelp
We came here on a weekend evening and enjoyed our meal here. The atmosphere is casual with "vintage" plates, cups, tables, chairs. As my partner says, it's like they went to a thrift store and purchased one of everything, since most things are mix-matched. It was a hot day, and there was some AC in the restaurant, but since the doors are open, the air is sort of warm. I think this place (and the environment) could benefit from closing the door. Though there is an outdoor seating area that's also pretty nice. We ordered a steak sandwich, a tostada sandwich, an order of tater tots, and had a sour beer and watermelon mint juice. The food took a little long to come out, but the food was great when it came out. The tostada salad was very generous and the corn tostada was crispy and very good. The beans complimented the cheese and sauces well. My partner liked the steak sandwich at first and thought everything was fresh. But he said he got tired of the flavors of it, and felt like there could have been more sauce to it. The tater tots were not traditional tater tots. They are more like fried mashed potato balls. They were tasty, made with fresh ranch on the side. But I think that they could have posted photos of the dishes, especially when they are not typical of what the dish is. The ranch and ketchup were both fresh and tasted like it was made in house. Overall, we are happy we came here and would come back. We would probably order different things though since they have a huge menu.

Yelp
Came here for lunch, which was a first bc I'm only ever here for breakfast. The corn pudding caught my eye and the gal said it was delicious. She was absolutely right. It was love at first bite delicious . It reminded me of a savory creme brulee/fresg soft tofu texture. Each had fresh corn kernels in it that I could stop eating while my friend watched me make Yoda sounds. The side salad was also a refreshing pale cleanse with a glass of watermelon cooler. I want to go back for some more next week. Highly recommend

Yelp
I come in here 90% of the time for their coffee, because they carry SightGlass. This rating is for the coffee and not the food. The food was OK.

Yelp
Amazing food! I absolutely loved the house chai and how they served it in a bowl almost. The entire place is full of charm, especially if you take the time to poke around. I really enjoyed everything we ordered. You can tell this place is well managed because of how smoothly the place operates. We were there on a busy Saturday and it could have easily impacted the experience if the employees were not on top of it all. I'll certainly be back!
google avatar

Christi L.

Yelp
Food is amazing, Venue is adorable . Has live music on certain nights. Applause to the owner which was over seeing restaurant during the dinner hour. Have to eat there.

Yelp
Stop, drop and just go here if you are needing some fuel. It was a Monday around 11:30am and it was packed! Luckily a table became open as soon as I paid at the register. This place is amazing with a group, you go up to the cashier pay and order your food individually. I wish more places allowed this option, makes it really easy! The place is just oozing that small town charm vibe. The breakfast sandwich was delicious, warm soft and all the ingredients just melted between the Acme brioche bun, you can't get anything better for under $20.00 especially with the high quality egg and ham. The breakfast champagne cocktail was refreshing and light. There is plenty of street parking and the service is super quick and friendly! There is seating in the back building as well next to the bathrooms, not just the front! Go explore and eat well friends!
google avatar

Yelp
I've been to this location so many times because of how close it is to home. Food and staff and is always great and accommodating! the only thing is, it is ALWAYS busy and you will often find a line outside. you order at the front first before choosing a table, so it can be a bit challenging for larger parties, but there is outdoor seating provided as well. whatever you do, get their coffee cake to go!!
google avatar

Olga N.

Yelp
Great food. Liked everything for the most part. Not a big fan of chicken pot pie. I'd skip it from not on. The bread part was good but that's it. Carnitas eggs Benedict is great! Thank you for putting cilantro on the side and not chopped inside. Crostini gravlox are yummy. Breakfast pudding is AMAZING!
google avatar

Maci W.

Yelp
this is my favorite quick lunch place, as it's all self serve! you place an order when you walk in, and take a seat while you wait for your food! the food is amazing and the service is fast. i may be biased, but i always get their chicken salad (no pomegranate) + their french fries. They go a little light on the dressing, so definitely ask for extra!
google avatar

Yelp
The honey and I seem to be spending quite a bit of time in downtown Danville recently and this past weekend the honey decided we should try out Sideboard. The space does not look that big from the outside, but in reality is two large buildings with seating that spills out of the french doors of one and takes up the entire open patio in between. After walking inside I ordered a carnitas benedict and a New Orleans style iced coffee for the honey and fries (with homemade ketchup), lemonade, brussels sprouts and a chocolate pot of creme to share. The service was friendly and although the food took a bit to come out (it was very busy), I loved everything we ordered. My freshly made lemonade was amazing and the fries were crispy and delicious. The pot of creme (essentially chocolate mousse) was sweet without being overpowering and the brussels sprouts were just a perfect side for the honey. All in all we really enjoyed our visit and will definitely be returning to Sideboard in the future!

Yelp
This was my second time going to sideboard. The first time was actually for a first date, so I was a bit too "distracted" to take pictures or put time into a review. A few of my friends highly recommended giving sideboard a second chance. I was pleasantly surprised to find out that they serve both menus all day. I particularly love this because they have brussel sprouts I know... I'm probably the only person that eats brussel sprouts for breakfast. I decided to go with brussel sprouts, chicken wings and the hot chocolate (with espresso). It was perfect I'm actually super excited to go back and try more items from their menu (with the brussel sprouts of course). Thank you sideboard for a pleasant breakfast experience

Yelp
We went here for our niece's college graduation party. Food was very good and customer service is superb! Great ambiance! Very homey! The manager was very friendly and welcoming!

Yelp
Amazing BIG salads! So yummy!!! They have a beautiful outdoor patio with heat lamps and blankets. Also delicious cucumber infused water. The service was great. Thoroughly enjoyed myself with my mom.
google avatar

Yelp
scrambled eggs and coffee is $20. It came without any sides! They don't refill coffee even.Waiters only bring the dish to your table you have to pick up your spoon, napkins... Food tastes fresh though.
google avatar

Ashley B.

Yelp
Super cute spot! You order inside and seat yourself to wait for your food. Lots of various options which is great being a vegetarian. Next time I want to try the crispy Brussel sprouts - they must be a favorite because multiple tables ordered them. I loved the avocado toast and felt the tater tots were a bit bland, I wouldn't get them again. They were more like simple fried mashed potato balls.
google avatar

Christine C.

Yelp
I came in for brunch this weekend with my favorite four legged friend. I ordered the chilaquiles and a mimosa. While the line to order was a bit long, the food came out really quickly. This is a classic spot in Danville and is full of dog lovers. I wish they had a drinks only line. I wanted another mimosa but didn't want to wait in line again.

Yelp
I've always enjoyed coming to Sideboard, but after my experience this weekend, I don't see myself returning.. I brought my sister here, excited to share one of my favorite local spots, but what followed was an unreasonably unpleasant encounter. We sat at an open table after confirming with another guest that it was okay to do so. A few minutes later, a couple approached us aggressively, claiming they had "reserved" the table by placing new plates there--though there was nothing there when we sat down. Instead of handling the situation with kindness, they made accusations and demanded we move, despite plenty of other seating options. What made the situation worse was when a staff member later approached us, seemingly siding with the couple, subtly pressuring us to leave--even after we explained that no personal belongings were at the table. It felt like an unfair and unnecessary confrontation, creating an unwelcoming environment. Sideboard has great food, but the lack of hospitality and professionalism in handling this situation left a sour taste. I wouldn't recommend a place that prioritizes appeasing rude customers over creating a welcoming atmosphere for everyone. Unfortunate, but I'll be taking my business and recommendations elsewhere.
google avatar

Tara L.

Yelp
We came here on Saturday morning around 9am. It wasn't too crowded, but by the time we left it was pretty full. This is an order at the counter first, seat yourself, and get your own utensils type of establishment. They do give you a number and bring your order to the table. It did take awhile for our orders to come out though. It was a cold and rainy morning so I decided to try their famous hot cocoa. It was okay in my opinion...could've been thicker and hotter. I also tried their English muffin, but wasn't blown away by it - maybe because I was comparing it to Model Bakery's English muffin which is delicious. I thought the mixed berry jam was too sweet. I ended up just spreading some butter on it with a drizzle of honey. The butter would've been better whipped.

Yelp
Food was delicious when I ordered Thai chicken salad for brunch. The chicken was tender with a slightly over dressed mixed greens with generous portions. I drank a refreshing mimosa with it. Spacious Al fresco dining as well as indoor dining. I would go again.

AL C.

Yelp
I don't see a huge selections on the menu for weekday breakfast and felt it was more of a Starbucks type of place where you can pick out a pastry, have things reheated and or very minor simple breakfasts. The prices were overpriced for the portions sizes. Was very dissappointed. The place is very clean and as for service they have it set up so you can effienctly bus yourself.
google avatar

Alexa C.

Yelp
Neighborhood classic, home kitchen vibes. Great brunch spot with variety for breakfast and lunch options + a la carte pastries. Always a line out the door, but really fast service and it's an order at the counter before you sit type of place. Outdoor and indoor seating , I'd recommend.
google avatar

Yelp
The vibe: kind of place where a 'meet cute' happens in a Hallmark holiday movie (or where a high powered lawyer in a big city runs into her ex that never left town). But seriously, I've been here a few times now and this place always had friendly service, really good/ fun coffee drinks and pastries, and just a great home-y feel to the space. They have delicious looking breakfast items, but always opt to just get coffee and a pastry. Perfect place to meet up friends you haven't seen in a while when you're back in town. Which was pretty much my exact situation every time I've been here. Pretty unique in that I don't really know of any similar type of spots in the area with all they have to offer. I recommend. Just know that it can get busy and lines can get long, but the line moves fairly quickly. Parking is pretty easy to find, especially if you don't mind walking a little bit.
google avatar

Sonia M.

Yelp
I love going to sideboards for a nice early breakfast or a later breakfast too. I like that you can order and pay for your food and find your own seat. Was hoping to try the eggs Benedict, but it only served on weekends. Guess I will just have to make a weekend trip.

Yelp
One of my favorite Thanksgiving traditions takes place the evening before Thanksgiving here at Sideboard. Family, friends, and neighbors all gather at this Danville staple for a night of wonderful music, food, company, and gratitude. Moving on...the fried brussel sprouts are to die for with a fabulous lemon aioli and the hot chocolate is legend status in my book. They have the best toasted homemade marshmallows and a graham cracker rim around the mug. The french fries are also a classic order and come piled high. Sideboard truly has so much character and heart and is one of my all-time favorite spots that always has great food and great people.
google avatar

Jamie K.

Yelp
this place has been a local favorite for so many yrs. There's a unique, vintage like feel to it -- super cozy indoors and beautiful outdoor seating with lots of decorations and cute furniture and silverware. Staff are always so friendly. However, food is pretty overpriced and oftentimes are a hit or miss -- the English muffin is the best thing I've had here, served super fresh+warm with jam and butter
google avatar

Ray W.

Yelp
Stopped in for breakfast yesterday, French Press Medium Roast, Coffee Cake, and Chilequillas. (Came with two Overeasy Eggs). Friendly Staff, quick service and delivery. Sat at long table with Family. Took home some English Muffins, best around here. $$$, patio seating available
google avatar

Yelp
This has become one of my fav spots to eat anywhere. The service is great and the food is so freaking good. I know it's mostly a breakfast place but I loooove eating here for dinner. It's reasonably priced and you can tell the cook puts love and passion into their work and you can taste in on the plate. So good
google avatar

Grace L.

Yelp
The food was good, but the service was very disrespectful! My son and I arrived around 3 pm (not during rush hour). The food came very quickly, but I received my coffee 30 minutes later. Besides the food, I had ordered a latte and waited for 20 minutes but the coffee had not arrived. I was worried they had forgotten mine, so I went and asked very politely and explained that I was in a hurry to go somewhere else. Five minutes later, the person making the coffee went out of the coffee station to clean up the tables, but when he passed my table, he specifically gave me a "look " that made me very uncomfortable. Another few minutes later, I finally got my latte but without any latte art. So, I went on Yelp just to look at people's posts, and I saw all the posts with beautiful art in their orders, except mine! I'm trying to support local businesses, but that was not a pleasant visit!
google avatar

Sammie L.

Yelp
So so good!! I ordered the chicken pot pie which is an autumn seasonal special and the pineapple ginger mint agua fresca. The agua fresca was refreshing and lovely. I loved the pot pie, it had chicken and mushrooms and gravy and a savory scone on top with cranberry sauce on the side. The savory scone pot pie combo was honestly kind of life changing and the fries I stole from another persons plate were life affirming. How it works if you order at the front then find seating in the back, tiled tables are very cute and there's a water feature! Everything on the menu sounded so delicious I had trouble deciding and I will probably have to return soon to try the things I skipped!
google avatar

Win L.

Yelp
Nice ambiance with plenty of outdoor space. Self order at the counter and the food is brought to you. Fast casual done well! I love the eclectic decoration inside and service is friendly. I used to love the menu and food at its old location (years ago) and was hopeful to try the current menu. It's good enough food but nothing special to call out. We tried the fried chicken, it was a bit dry. The tater tots are more like mash potato balls. Probably my favorite item was the salad, which shouldn't be the highest compliment. Maybe I didn't order the right items. Overall, a pleasant dining option with average food. It's dog friendly and kid friendly. Note, it's a local favorite and does get really busy so plan ahead.
google avatar

Taylor L.

Yelp
One of my new brunch favorites! We really enjoyed the outdoor seating, with the heat lamps, it's all covered so even with the cloudy weather, we were super comfortable and were able to have our dog with us. The line to order was a bit long, but our food came out within 10ish minutes of ordering and the drinks even faster. The breakfast sandwich was amazing! The bread buns really made it for me, and it was very filling without being over the top. The chai was good, they make the chai in house, but it could have used a bit more spice. I can't wait to return and try the pastries and other menu options.

Yelp
I haven't had a lunch this bad, well since the last time I had lunch here. No parking close by. You have to park in the shopping center across the street. And cross a busy street to get there. Not good for handicap people. Upon entering there is a dessert case with no prices until you get stung at payment. Food is ok . The cashier is very slow, or maybe it's the customers ordering, not sure, but the line moves slow. Everything is self serve here except for the plate of food they drop at your table. Not the friendliest service either. Chairs are hard wood or metal. My order was wrong and it took 15 min to get a remake. They ask for a big tip at payment but since they don't do much I can't justify a 20% tip. A shining example of why I avoid cutsesy hipster places.

Yelp
I wish I could do a 10* review. I love this place. So cozy and the food is fabulous. Last night I hosted an event at Danville Sideboard. Rod helped me select the menu and 26 of my friends enjoyed celebrating with me. Food was not only excellent but the set up was lovely. It was a fabulous evening with fabulous friends.

Yelp
I always come here for a nice brunch or dinner. It's self seated and I usually go for an outdoor seat for the vibes. My favorite dish here is the Mac and cheese which everyone should try at least once. Their beignets weren't that good and the service is pretty consistent. It's usually packed whenever I come here and you just order at the front and they'll come to you with the food. This is definitely a staple in Danville and is worth coming to on a nice afternoon.
