Google
I love Sidecar donuts but this location was by far the best! They had seating outside and the service was wonderful! I got the basil eggs Benedict donut and wow was that a culinary experience, it's pricey but worth it! I also got the banana nut latte with oat milk, it was yummy, I would just opt out of the walnut topping next time!

Dennis Z.

Google
I had one of the chocolate chunk donut, it was delicious! What I like about the donut is that the dough was very cake like. I thought that was unique. The cashier and people there were very nice, service was on point. It’s not too crowded in the afternoon so seating wasn’t hard to find, but there are a few seats given that it’s a small space. Their small parking lot can be a problem since there’s only a few space available. Your best bet is to park in the larger parking area next to the shopping areas. They have so many donut options, I wanna go back there and try their other ones!

New doughnut spot! Everything is handmade from scratch, every hour, in small batches. The staff are super friendly, helpful, and informative (you can tell they love what they do!)

TRIPLE BOMB 💣 💣💣 Second time here since discovering this place a month ago. So far huckleberry is my all time favorite. I did try their strawberry cream today and was a tiny bit disappointed. Not on them but expectation I had. I thought the strawberry glaze would be similar flavor to the Asian snacks strawberry flavor (pockey, ying yang). Overall RECOMMEND 🤤

Google
I absolutely love this place! My favorite doughnut is the maple bacon. I share the bacon with my dog 🙈 The employees are all very kind and welcoming. I believe it’s Ashley (sorry if I have the wrong name), but they are amazing and always so great! I also usually get coffee. I like the flat white and the vanilla latte, but everything I’ve had has been good.

Google
I’ve been to the og location in Costa Mesa OC several times and many moons ago - and since they’ve expanded, the quality and taste in other locations isn’t just the same and justify the cost per donut imo. If you MUST try Sidecar for the first time - I heavily recommended you visit their Costa Mesa location. Butter + Salt is a classic, tasteful donut of theirs, but it just wasn’t the same here. Gal who helped us out at the counter was very courteous and personable though :) Moderate space, clean, and ample parking.

Even though it's located at a busy crossing, I knew I had to try their vegan donut once my friend shared they'd have a rotating seasonal option. They only offer one vegan option at a time and this most recent visit was their Vegan Affogato with a light vanilla whip. I got to try a sample before ordering and am so glad I did. I went with this as my donut of choice ($6.50) and even though it's a bit pricey, I really enjoyed this delectable morning treat. The staff here were very friendly and overall was an awesome grab and go spot.

Google
Is Sidecar Donuts a bakery, or a psychological experiment in disappointment? I went twice this weekend, Saturday and Sunday, and the selection was the same both days: a few lonely, tired old fashioneds sitting there like forgotten relics. No gluten-free. No huckleberry. No hope. I’m starting to think they recognize me. And that they hate me. It could be the fact my sweater is covered in donut stains. Perhaps they thinking I’m cheating on them with other donut shops. But daddy needs his maple bacons, and if Culver City Side Car can’t deliver I’ll have to go to Randy’s. I swear I’ll do it. I swear! At this point, I’m not even sure if the huckleberry donuts are real or just a beautiful legend passed down from Mark Twain himself. Would I come back? Of course. Because hope is the cruelest drug. And I am an addict. I’m addicted to those donuts and I’m even more addicted to disappointment. P.S. the old fashion was pretty good. 2 Stars.

Yelp
This location is especially convenient for me! It's on the way to work, there's a parking lot, and the donuts are delicious! I often drop by on my way to work to pick up a treat for my team. It has a great variety of flavors and even gluten free and vegan options. The seasonal flavors are always worth a try. The classic ones like huckleberry are consistently popular. The donut holes are sometimes my favorite because one donut is sometimes too big. The only downside is they're pretty expensive for just three holes. Lastly I wish they made more yeast donuts. The cake ones are good but sometimes too heavy! Pretty please!

Yelp
Sidecar is a small chain. The one we went to is in Culver City. It is never busy it seems and now I know why. The donuts are way overpriced and not very good. We ordered several, I am so glad we did not get a dozen. They just are not every good at all. They have flavors you may not find elsewhere, but that does make me them good. They are not. They are hard and the topping is bland. Parking is free in the mall lot where this place sits at the corner. This location is very clean and it is nice and comfortable. But that does not save their less than good donuts. They really need to start over with new recipes or hire a donut chef. I don't see this place lasting. It could be so good, but it is not and that is sad. The service is very nice and we appreciate that, but we won't be back.

Yelp
I'm a fan of Sidecar donuts in general because of their quality and unique flavors. My favorite is their OG famous one the berry donut. However all of their donuts are good and made fresh. I've been to this location a few times and employees are efficient and helpful. There are some samples sometimes and a water station. There is some outside seating. Parking is plentiful and free. A solid Sidecar location. The times I went it also wasn't overly crowded.

Yelp
Stopped here on a weekday afternoon to pick up a sweet treat and I was pleasantly surprised that the donuts that I picked up were still fresh and also service was really fast and friendly. This particular location also has its own parking lot so it's relatively easy to park in front but also a little bit more complicated if you're trying to get back onto Overland Avenue from the store. There are a few places inside to eat your donuts with a standing counter, as well as a few patio tables if you decide to eat in. Typically, it's best to eat a sidecar doughnut same day. They tend to not be as good or as fresh the next day on this particular occasion, I picked up a butter and salt, which is a classic flavor, great texture and moisture in the doughnuts and a really nice balance of sweet and saltiness coming from the donut itself.

Yelp
While I was in Culver City, I saw Sidecar Doughnuts and Coffee and decided I needed to have some doughnuts there. Sidecar Doughnuts and Coffee is my first visit, and it appears like there are only a few doughnuts on display, with limited options. Wow! When the employee handed us some samples to try, Doughnuts are really soft, and the flavors fill your mouth immediately. Because I bought four Nothing Bundt Cakes, I only got two kinds of doughnuts here. Good doughnuts, and I will surely try different donuts next time I am in the area.

Yelp
Sidecar is a bit on the pricier side ($5-$8) but have fresh cake-like dough do-nuts! I do love their variety and seasonal options though and they always look so pretty! Service is always excellent and friendly and they are pretty quick to pack your order. The inside is usually super clean as well. I tried their millionaires shortbread chocolate donut during national donut day for $7-$8 and didn't really feel it was worth the price. The donut was fresh and had loads of chocolate pieces on top and a good amount of caramel dulce de leche inside, but nothing really stood out that would make me order it again. Although it does make for a pretty gift with the gold sprinklings! Their Vietnamese coffee didn't really give me the condensed milk punch that Lees coffee gives you, IYKYK, but it was decent! The cookies and cream donut was also around $8 and had a cream cheese taste inside, but again not really worth it. I think their classics around $4.75-$5.75 would be a much better choice and they have a great fresh selection! Also, definitely get their app for a free coffee and donut on your first visit and to collect points. Their choc-a-lot is pretty good along with their butter and salt, but again this isn't a Krispy Kreme donut, more of a cakey dough! I came in on Saturday morning to try their Benedict donut which is available daily until 11 am and it was pretty fresh! It had a nice runny egg, pesto seasoning, and prosciutto. The donut was warm, soft baked, wasn't overly sweet, a tad salty, but yummy! It cost $8 so it was pretty pricey but eggs these days are expensive soo I might come back to get this one again :)

Yelp
Absolutely worth the price for these artisan donuts! I love when there's a cool collab or a protein donut on the menu, it never disappoints. I ordered my usual today; a butter and salt and a strawberry buttermilk. Because it's the nearing the end of the season for summer, we also ordered the peach filled donut, which was so delicious. It was the perfect amount of brown sugar topping without overdoing it. Both the butter and salt and strawberry buttermilk aren't too sweet and have a dense but buttery cake dough that melts in your mouth. The staff are always so kind and helpful, because there's so many options, and there's always free samples to taste before you make your selection!
google avatar

Yelp
I love the consistency of their donuts (more cake-like). Flavors delicious and not overly sweet. The variety is pretty nice too. The service is always friendly and quick. I do wish some of their offerings weren't day-specific because it's hard for me to get there some days. I'm very glad they had samples of their basil eggs benedict donut out because it was WAY too salty. It saved my husband from buying two.
google avatar

Laura N.

Yelp
Hand made donuts with no preservatives. I felt like it was the first time I ever ate a real donut. I feel so lucky to live just 10 mins away. I arrived after the breakfast rush.
google avatar

Brian C.

Yelp
The donuts are okay, but nothing speciaI. I would say they are not worth the premium price. But the service was good and the line moved along quickly.
google avatar

Diana K.

Yelp
Their vegan & gluten-free donuts are life-changing ! Fresh, soft, flavorful, and always rotating new seasonal options. Helpful tip: download the app - you get a free donut and drink! They sell out fast, but always make fresh donuts every hour! 10/10 recommend every single time for artisan donuts

Yelp
Sidecar is always a treat when I'm on this side of town. I'm a sucker for seasonal flavors. I recommend trying out their new seasonal flavors when they debut them. They had an apple cranberry sufiganyot this past Hanukkah that was delicious. One area this place shines in is that they offer both gluten free and vegan options, which your typical donut spot usually doesn't. I know these donuts are more expensive than the average spot so lemme share with you some ways to save money and still get your Sidecar fix: -Download the app. Seriously. When you first sign up you get a free drink and donut. Then you keep earning points to get free donuts. As you make purchases they'll load buy one get one free and 2x point offers into you account. -Download the Too Good To Go app. Many Sidecars are on here (including this location) and you can usually get 5-6 donuts for $7, when donuts are typically $5.75 each. Note that with TGTG you won't know what flavors you're getting so this is an option for someone who is open to being surprised. -Take the survey. Near the register there's usually a QR code to take a survey to win a box of 6 donuts for free. Last year, it used to be a free donut upon completing the survey but I'm not in a position to be picky. I haven't won a free box yet but it's worth a try. I just hope someday they open a Sidecar in the Valley because I don't only get my cravings when I'm in Culver City :(

Yelp
early morning treats! delicious donuts. got huckleberry, maple bacon, butter and salt and 2 hot oat lattes. Ashley helped me today and she's so warm and friendly and helpful and seems like she knows everything in store. She's the best!

Reesha N.

Yelp
Mediocre customer service but nothing spectacular about the donuts for the price. Got the vanilla bean glazed donut and again nothing spectacular same type of donut you can get from a Winchell's, dunkin' donuts or Mom and Pop Asian based donut shop. First time and last time trying this place. The interior and ambiance of the store is set up really nice, great location but again same taste as a regular donut shop with cookie crumb bits and cereal pieces thrown on top of glaze for the price hike.

Yelp
Came for my favorite butter salt donut but they were .. so disappointed so I went for the new savory pizza donut the naughty puff and it did not disappoint.. so much flavor and taste we were fighting over it since I was sharing .. can't wait to go back And get my own! ..

Yelp
Amazing atmosphere and deliciously genius recipes here! Coffee was strong and paired perfectly with the pumpkin spice cheesecake doughnut. Also the staff members radiated friendliness & lots of smiles upon our arrival, while offering us samples of some popular and new flavors. Being my first time, I had a few questions and each one of the team mates provided excellent service.

Yelp
We were so looking forward to trying this place. We are donut nuts and we look for new places. Sadly this place is an epic failure. And that is sad. They just don't know how to make donuts. The place is super cute, was empty, it was also very clean. The service was very nice and we love that. They also have coffee. We did not have any so I have no opinion of that, it is just the ever so sad donuts. We bought several and they are way over priced. But they are pretty. We got them home and all went in the trash. They are not at all fluffy or tasty. They tasted stale and like old cake. The icing was lacking, so the donut had little flavor. Nothing could have saved them. There is no way that every donut we tried just happened to be stale, they were just not good. They are close to tough and just so boring. I really wanted to give them a good review. The 3 stars is a gift. We will never be back and again, that is sad.

Yelp
Service was very quick since it was a preorder pick up. Food was what to be expected for end of day donuts. Inside is clean and outside there's a couple of tables to sit at

Yelp
Sidecar doughnuts are some of the yummiest chain donuts that I've had! I love almost every flavor but I definitely love their classic huckleberry! I wanted to shoutout the employee that was working here, allowing us to try almost every flavor that we wanted before purchasing was a huge deal. Very helpful for those who are indecisive!
google avatar

Yelp
After having been to many Sidecar locations around LA, I hadn't realized this one was here. This location is very spacious, has ample outdoor seating, and has a huge, free parking lot which makes it extra convenient. I ordered my usual Saigon Cinnamon Crumb doughnut (still hoping they bring back the blueberry someday) and tried a cortado. Their coffee isn't stellar, but does the job. Their doughnuts are where it's at, and this location is unsurprisingly up to par with their other locations. Super tasty doughnuts on the slightly pricier side, but very much worth it.
google avatar

Lewis C.

Yelp
If you're looking for a higher-end donut experience, then you've come to the right place at Sidecar. The interior is clean and beautiful and feels more like a high end pastry shop than a donut shop. Service is very friendly and helpful. The donuts are laid out behind glass with little signs in front of them describing the donut and the key ingredients. They offer seasonal flavors that change regularly. On this particular Monday, the seasonal flavors was a Banana Cream Malasada. Yes, please! It was excellent. We also tried the old fashioned, the chocolate and the cinnamon. In all cases, the dough was more dense and less sweet or puffy than a more typical donut. If you don't like that, then it might be better to stick to Randy's (which we do love) Donuts and you'll also save some bucks. The Sidecar donuts are in a different category. The prices reflect that too.

Yelp
Mom and Son day out included stopping in Sidecar to experience this establishment donuts. I'm 50/50. Let's jump right into this review. What did we have: 1. Passionfruit Palova - seasonal, bold flavor, true to the name. The cream on top was light and added a nice texture to doughnut overall. 2. Butter & Salt - daily flavor - son said it was alright - no other comment :( Doughnuts are a good size, and you get that doughy taste about halfway into your donut. Pros 1. Esthetically pleasing - clean lines inside, very modern. I like the display of the doughnuts. 2. Customer service was great. 3. The establishment was clean, including the display window, not a smudge. Cons 1. It's cashless. Any place that is cashless is a con for me. Cash is the simple, basic metric of our financial system outside trade. Not personal against Sidecar. I like options. Don't come for me, readers. 2. The parking lot is ridiculously crowded. Sidecar is in a shared shopping center that is busy. It's not impossible to find parking, but it can be a challenge. Overall, we had a good experience, but doughnuts are subpar. Sidecar is nothing to run and tell momma about, lol. Would we go back, yes! Sidecar supports national initiatives like National Suicide Prevention Week with Doughnuts Grams for Hope. Any business that uses their platform to bring awareness to issues that are problems in society - I support them. Thank you for supporting people.

Yelp
This place to me is donut heven. Some unusual styles, bit pricey but check them out Try the glaze fruit topped or chocolate

Yelp
Alex is the best employee there is a sample of dount and recommend to try "Old Fashion." Good employee and friendly.

Yelp
Incompetent staff. Poor service skills, and always running out of inventory. This store needs a new manager and to retrain their entire staff. Would avoid going to this store unless you love wasting your time.

Yelp
My experience for the 1st visit in this establishment was nothing short of amazing ! The ambiance was chill, clean and I was greeted with a smile from Billy !He was cutting up some sample of the Cinnamon and butter salt doughnuts . Fresh n hot ! I will be back soon , thank you Billy and team ‼

Yelp
Not sure why the specific location has a lower rating however, every time I go to this location, which is the only one that I've been to because it's near my house. I always have a great experience with the food and the staff. I'm not sure if each location carries different flavors however, this location switches it up seasonally and keeps the same basic flavors as well. My favorite flavor is salted butter donut, I'm not a big sweet person so this is a perfect balance for me. I also really appreciate that overall aren't super like a regular donut shop. I've tried the spiced tiramisu donut, which is their seasonal flavor and it was amazing. I asked the, several times if it was super sweet, and he assured me it wasn't, I was still on the edge about ordering it, especially being that it's about six dollars for a doughnut. I ordered it, and I was super happy with the level of sweetness, Sidecar Doughnuts definitely knows what they're doing. Now let's talk about the coffee! The coffee here is one of the best coffee I've had. I'm a coffee lover, so I've tried a lot of coffee and this is an amazing every day coffee, I'm so grateful it's close enough to my house. If you like coffee that has a type of toffee flavor this is the one for you. They also have Vietnamese coffee there which I've tried, which has less of a toffee flavor , however it's not the best Vietnamese coffee I've tried. I didn't think it would be that it's not a Vietnamese place. I get the caramel iced coffee or the caramel latte hot they both taste amazing.

Yelp
I had the most delicious vegan donut today in the history of all vegan donuts worldwide! It had raspberry jam on top, it was warm when I got it, the donut part was so yummy. I believe it is available for a limited time only but they always have a vegan option at this place! The people that work here are so nice and helpful. They are happy to answer questions about coffee, sometimes have tiny samples available & offer a welcoming atmosphere.
google avatar

Cesar M.

Yelp
Customer for over 2 years never experience such a rude service. Was either my family pm time was a very bad rude experience without any explanation. Donut's were great but service was very disappointing, rude and disrespectful. No need for that.

Sarah S.

Yelp
The donuts are great, but the coffee is a miss. Felt the same about the Costa Mesa location. Stick to the donuts.
google avatar

Mary M.

Yelp
Love this place, one of my favorite spots for donuts. The variety is great with unique options and every one worth it in my opinion. They always hit the flavor notes, donuts themselves are fluffy with good flavor, and the amount of sweetness is just right. Paid this with a morning coffee and you're set for a good day.
google avatar

Char L.

Yelp
Sidecar donuts are addictive and so freaking tasty. Never even knew I liked cake donuts til Sidecar. For this location, parking can be a bit challenging in the lot adjacent to the building. You can try parking in the larger parking lot where the bigger shopping plaza is and walk over. Must easier to park there. This location seems to run out of items as well. Maybe it's been bad luck the times I've came. But in any case my first choice donuts have been out of stock!
google avatar

Brandon B.

Yelp
Heard so much about this place! It's okay! The strawberry doughnut taste different in a good way. Get there early because they run out of certain flavors quickly. Overall it was okay...nothing amazing
google avatar

Lakshmi C.

Yelp
Excellent coffee... consistently good Oat Lattes! Always nice to see a vegan option for a donut treat as well. Vegan donuts aren't overly sweet.. they are just right. Ambience is chill and although there is limited seating, it's comfortable for a quick stop. Parking is in plenty outside. We have only gotten coffee to go here. Service could be a little better- sometimes the wait is long even if you want to just grab coffee (the donut line is usually longer). Overall highly recommend this and any Sidecar in the area!

Yelp
I never actually craved doughnuts until I encountered Sidecar. My sister absolutely loves doughnuts and I wanted to surprise her with some one day, so I stopped by. Today, this might unexpectedly be my most-visited morning stop. It has become an easy option when looking for desserts that everyone can enjoy, like for birthday surprises, and Sidecar always has at least gluten free and vegan option for my friends with dietary restrictions. All the doughnuts are laid out so you can see what they have available that day. Visitors also have a clear view of the kitchen just behind the counter. The staff have been very generous in getting you fresh doughnuts as they become available! Finally, they have small discounts available for healthcare workers, which I always enjoy the perk of. I have now tried the vast majority of their doughnuts, something I have almost never said about any other place. All their doughnuts have a solid shell of glaze or layer of toppings on the outside, pillowy texture on the inside. The vegan/gluten free options have a slightly more dense inside texture because of the ingredients, but they still turn out super moist. The Huckleberry remains my favorite because it has a perfectly tart glaze while satisfying my sweet tooth. The celebration cake had Halloween-themed sprinkles for Halloween! Chefs kiss. I have ordered the coffee a few times for my partner when he wants to wake up to doughnuts and coffee, but the coffee has never really hit the spot for him. Their coffees tend to have too much milk and not enough coffee for him. The doughnuts always hit the spot though, so 5 stars for their doughnuts alone! Overall, I am very happy to have found a doughnut place I enjoy coming back to as often as I do, for myself and for my loved ones!

Yelp
I come to this location every few months if i really crave a good selection of donuts. I love the olive oil donut so good i tried the dubai chocolate donut was hoping for the best. Definitely expected it to be amazing i was very disappointed it ended up tasting like almond instead. The employees are pretty helpful and nice i just wish they would be more organized with the line. It does get busy sometimes this location so be patient. They seem to run out of donuts fast.

Jane T.

Yelp
Not all Sidecar doughnuts are created equal. This location. Is prove of it. The quality here is much better and service. These truly hit. I like the old fashion donuts here because it's not too much tough and has a perfect crisp outside.

Yelp
First experience at Sidecar.. WENT FOR DONUTS AND LEFT WITH BAD EMPLOY ATTITUDE. Never Again!!!! One of those places where customer service is the WORST! Went to the shop several days ago. They had one customer in line, ordering a coffee. There were two employees behind the counter (one making the coffee for the customer and the other employee was prepping the donuts). I was not greeted by either employee nor did they say someone would be with us to assist. I stood behind the donut order area for about 5 minutes. Since no one came out to assist nor assure us we would be helped I moved over to the pay station so I would be assisted next. By this time two more patrons entered the shop and waited where the donut area was. At this point an employee came out and asked if we had been helped to which I greeted HIM, and said I would like to get two donuts. He then was a SASSY attitude points to the donut area (where I had been initially) and "said donut orders are over there and those ladies are in line next". This was false had he actually been on the floor to assist and greet customers he would have known that I along with my partner were there for minutes waiting. I told him which donuts to get me, paid and walked out. NEVER AGAIN am I going to that establishment. I will ensure that this place is not recommended.

Yelp
I've been coming here for a couple of years now, lovely atmosphere and that fresh coffee smell is always relaxing. Person at the register was fast and super helpful when checking out. Always looking forward to my weekly treat!

Yelp
Absolutely amazing donuts. Can't comment on the coffee. Most of the low reviews are from people who expect special treatment at a busy donut shop.
google avatar

Heidi O.

Yelp
I'm not even joking when I say I saw god the first bite I took of a Sidecar donut. The hype is so justified. We walked into this modern laboratory of sugar perfection and were invited to try a sample of their butter and salt donut and it was so insanely fresh I was instantly like ok, this is not a typical donut spot. I ended up getting a Saigon cinnamon raised donut and it was legitimately a heavenly experience. The ordering and checkout process was a little intimidating since it's so busy and you don't wanna be that guy holding up the line, but even if they made you walk through glass, it'd be worth it.

Yelp
The name is really cool and this is a great looking donut shop with great donuts. I had their superstar donut $5.75 with amazing ingredients. Service is excellent. They have a large selection of top premium exotic flavored donuts and coffees. I subtract one star since they don't take cash and very small inside área. FYI: Bonus mention for great looking donut box but "Receive" is spelled wrong

This donut shop has great customer service!!! The new Citrus Olive Oil Cake donut is bomb/delicious!!

Really interesting selection of sweet and savory doughnuts. Espresso is delicious and the coffee nice as well. Relatively quick service and included tasting samples. Very cute California architecture, allowing light in to the simplistic restaurant. Very good.

Yelp
I've been a regular at the Culver City Sidecar Doughnuts shop ever since they first opened their doors. The staff are always so pleasant to interact with. Sidecar isn't your typical neighborhood donut joint - they bake donuts fresh in small batches every hour. That means you might not find your favorite variety each visit. But it also ensures the donuts are consistently fresh (and warm when straight from the oven - yum!). The prices are a tad higher than average but not outrageous. Compared to similar artisanal donuts like Blue Star in Venice, Sidecar comes out ahead on both quality and value in my book. Their donuts are moist, packed with flavor, and never cloyingly sweet. Parking is a breeze with a small lot next to the store and a bigger one right beside it. One tip: Sidecar is cashless so be sure to bring plastic - they accept all contactless payments. With warm, melt-in-your-mouth donuts made with care all day long, Sidecar has become my go-to for a delicious treat. If you love donuts, add this Culver City gem to your must-try list!

Yelp
The first time I was introduced to Sidecar donuts I was blown away by their huckleberry flavor. I've always been a fan of yeast donuts but Sidecar opened my world to cake donuts. My recent visit I tried their holiday vegan chocolate peppermint and I was yet again blown away. It was the perfect balance of dark chocolate and peppermint. Paired with their iced matcha, my tastebuds were so happy. I am patiently waiting for the day Sidecar makes a vegan version of their huckleberry. Also love their interior decor and layout. Very chic, bright, and welcoming. Parking is free in shared lot with other businesses.
