"With drinks running the gamut from frou-frou to macho, there’s something for everyone at Sidecar Modern Tavern. Choose your adventure: go floral with Pretty in Pink, a rosy cocktail topped with a single violet, or embrace your tough as nails side with the John Wick, which comes with a bullet lodged in the side of the glass. The decorations seem to be in the same vein. Dark paint… accented with unicorn pillows and a unicorn head mounted on the wall." - Johanna Harlow

Great service from Josh at the bar. He's got that great bartender personality that makes him feel like an old friend. The Chicken Wings were amazingly crispy, tasty, and that Bleu cheese dip was the REAL stuff. I would absolutely recommend this. The Lamb Sliders were also great. The meat itself was very tender, flavorful, and the buns held up to the juiciness. The real unexpected hero here was the fresh made Fresno hot sauce. Amazing!

Delicious, well-balanced, and novel dishes! The fried potatoes were simply brilliant. One of my favourite places in Los Gatos.

All the plates were delicious. I would have preferred if the shrimp was shell off but it was still very good. The cauliflower came with a really good sauce and spices. The black cod smelled fishy but tasted great. The cinnamon butter cocktail was delicious but almost a dessert. The waitress was super friendly. Loved the old school rap.

What a joyful evening. Sidecar menu was full of delicious items. We went through most of the starters since they were all so interesting. The cheese and meat charcuterie was rich and delightful that we ordered a second one. The service was amazing.

Cocktails were delicious and service was quick and great. Cheese and charcuterie and fries were really good. A must visit in Los Gatos for a casual dinner with friends.

Google
Service. 5/5. Amazing. Thanks to the effervescent Bridget. She was an outstanding server and lovely to talk with. Great Service. Food. 5/5. Amazing. The wings were the best we’ve ever had. And that’s a lot to say because we’ve had many in so many places. Wow! Cauliflower was also equally astounding. Cocktails 4/5. Only because a martini was Ok. I need to work on the olives there a generic olives from Safeway. If you’re in charge A lot in a cocktail bar I need to bring it. Ambiance. Good. Indoor and outdoor seating.

This was our first visit. Our server Adam was Amazing and had so many recommendations that did not disappoint! We fell in love with the chill vibe, the overall atmosphere was so laid back. We love all the local, fresh ingredients. Definitely highly recommend for a casual outing or date night! Can’t wait to go back!!!

We went for the first and second time in one day (brunch and returned for dinner). We absolutely loved the place. The food, the drinks, the staff... all the stars possible. The mixologists were very talented and made us great off the menu drinks based on our preferences and taste. That's always fun. My favourite dish was the lamb shoulder poutine. It was phenomenal. We will be back. Often.

Yelp
It was really busy Wednesday night around 8pm due to the holiday crowds, luckily they found us a table. Drinks ordered: Sonoma Chard,Spiced Pear Martini,Seasonal Old Fashioned,Smoky Passion and we shared Butterscotch pudding and daughter got fries Wow,the cocktails were amazing! The waitress said her favorite was the Pear Martini and I can see why,so good! Waitress was awesome and we enjoyed how festive it was decorated for holidays.

Yelp
This review is long over due. Especially for one of my all time favorite restaurants in Los Gatos. I'll start off with the owner and service. The owner is the sweetest and makes sure everyone is well taken care of. One evening the whole block lost power and we immediately got a glass of champagne to hold us over and they offered us anything off the menu that didn't need to be cooked. It worked out well since we were there to catch up with a friend. Not only are their cocktails to die for they have delicious food to match! The menu rotates so you can always go try something new. Few of my favs are always the French fries, chicken wings, their salads are always great as well. The whole vibe of the restaurant is great. Very comfortable small restaurant with great music always. Don't go there expecting a quiet evening. This place is always jumping. I highly suggest a reservation on the weekends.

Yelp
Our friends are regulars here for dinner and discovered that the restaurant just started offering brunch, so they made reservations for 11am on Sunday. Although downtown was busy with the farmers market etc we were able to find street parking directly in front of the restaurant. We arrived at about 11:15am because we are always late, but it was fine because our friends were seated on the patio and had already ordered drinks. Upon arriving to the table we were immediately greeted by our server who was super friendly and attentive. Since our friends already had drinks we reviewed the menu and ordered some as well. I got the Pick Me Up & my husband ordered the John Wick which is served in the coolest vessel. For food we ordered: fries and prawns to start, then the French toast, breakfast plate, biscuits and gravy and chili verde. Everything looked great and tasted great. The portions were standard which is a good thing, just enough to feel satisfied without being overly stuffed. Overall the vibe was chill but lively and the people watching from the patio was great. I'd love to return for dinner and cocktails!

Yelp
Cool spot with great cocktails and nibbles, and friendly service. They have indoor and outdoor seating. Happy hour (as of this writing): tue to thur 5-6 pm; fri to sun 4:30-5:30 pm

Yelp
The crispy cauliflower is well prepared. It has a nice medium golden crust with a super creamy sesame sauce. It's dimly lit inside with a warm glow. It's a nice local bar/restaurant with an attentive host and friendly staff

Christopher S.

Yelp
Good food and great drink menu. Came here a little early on a weekday evening so parking was easier to find and chose lounge seating. I don't typically like bourbon that much but the John Wick cocktail was a highlight. Sticky ribs and prawns are also v good. Get the brownie it is delicious!! Will be back

Noelle P.

Yelp
This place did not disappoint for a quick stop on the way to the coast. I got the chili verde and the pork was done to perfection. I wish they did offer corn tortillas. My boyfriend ordered the burger. The brioche bun was slightly crunchy and soft at the same time, it added the perfect amount of texture. The burger was done at medium temperature and was extremely juicy (I could have eaten it all myself:) We will absolutely be back again!

Yelp
Came here on a Sunday evening right when they opened for happy hour. We parked around the corner and walked about 5 minutes to get to the restaurant. Inside is decorated really nicely, with a cozy vibe. The service was professional and welcoming, adding to the experience. We ordered a martini and cosmopolitan and the charcuterie cheese board from the happy hour menu. Both drinks tasted very fresh and what you would expect in those drinks! The cheese board was delicious: great choices of cheese and meats, and delicious bread. This was my first time coming here and I would definitely come back again and bring more friends!

Yelp
Everything about this place is good. From the seating, to decor, to food, to service. We came here for a friends birthday. They have very unique names for the drinks. All of us liked what we ordered. We ordered crispy cauliflower, Brussels sprouts and sidecar salad. The salad was fresh and good. Cauliflower tasted good though I would have liked it crispier. Brussel sprouts were perfectly cooked. They had Thai curry and jasmine rice for chefs vegan for the day. It was very good but a bit sweet. We had the brownie and ice cream for dessert and it was simple and tasty. The service throughout the evening was great Would definitely go to this place again ... and again ... and ...

Haleh H.

Yelp
Fun place with good service, over-priced though. It's definitely not a $$ place. The restaurant has a good vibe, it's happy with good lighting. The service was good, server was attentive and we didn't have to wait long for the food to come. I think this place would be a great option for drinks & nibbles to share. - Drinks: all around good fun cocktails, really enjoyed. - Crispy cauliflower: it had good seasoning, I really enjoyed it although I didn't think I would. - Burrata & tomatoes: can't go wrong with this! Pretty standard. Lots of fresh tomatoes. - Scallops: small portion for $38! It came with 4 tiny scallops. It had good flavor, and I really enjoyed the peach slices and the corn purée. Just not worth it. - Lamb sliders: Flavorful & came with 4 decent sized sliders. Really needed a salad though so ordered one. - Pasta: portion was just enough, flavor was amazing! This was surprisingly a really good dish - pasta with tomatoes & bacon. - Grilled salmon: our friend seemed to enjoy it. - Brownie w/ice cream: the brownie was rich & flavorful. Ice cream was pretty standard and tasty.

Yelp
We've now become regulars at this spot. All of the servers working here are real gems; Keith's cocktails are out of this world, the food is interesting and tasty, and nothing beats the chill vibe. The owner, who is a really nice guy, has created an amazing place that's always fun to visit. What's not to love?!? They offer an extensive cocktail menu, sure to please anyone's selective palette, and the variety of food is excellent (a great place to visit with your vegetarian friends). The shrimp and fries are always phenomenal and our usual go-tos, but during the recent visit we branched out and got the truffle broccoli and pork belly and both were outstanding. The broccoli was not overcooked and still had that nice crunch; the seasoning fused well with the truffle oil; the cheese added just a slight salty note without taking away from the flavor other flavors. While I didn't love the side dish that came with the pork, the pork belly itself was to die for. You got a nice heaping of crunchy skin, super tender meat and just the right amount of fat. The sauce that it came with had a lovely paprika flavor that worked well with the meat. I could eat it every day. If you haven't been to this place, please stop by. I promise you'll love it.

Yelp
I've been here several times for brunch and dinner and it's always been a pleasant experience. On this particular visit, we did not have to wait for a table at 1pm. I recommend making a reservation for dinner service. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable about the various drinks and daily specials. We ordered the Pimm's cup, Pretty in Pink, and the espresso for drinks. For food, we chose the shrimp (always delicious), grilled cheese with tomato soup, and crispy potatoes. I feel like you are getting a lot of food for the price. We had plenty to take home as leftovers. We sat in the lounge area which had couches and fancy chairs. The wallpaper behind us reminded my husband of those "I Spy" books. Would definitely recommend Sidecar as a great date night spot.

Krystina M.

Yelp
Great spot with delicious food and thoughtfully crafted cocktails. The ambiance and vibe of this place are so cool. I highly recommend this to anyone in the area! And they have a happy hour with some great specials. All staff I encountered were so friendly too. Overall a great spot when in Los Gatos!

Yelp
I had a wonderful time at this very cute restaurant. It's dark and pretty loud inside but great vibes! Servers and staff were incredibly nice and welcoming from the moment I stepped in. The house salad + fries were delicious starters. They came out quickly after our server took our order. Salad was perfectly dressed with delicious croutons + cheese topped. Fries were super crispy and so well seasoned. I had the NY Strip which included bone marrow and mushrooms. Amazing dish. I wish I opted for the extra bone marrow because it was so creamy and tasty with the toast. Steak was prepared at a perfect medium and covered in a yummy sauce. There were a few special Valentine's Day items including a filet mignon with peppercorn sauce, broccolini, and mashed potatoes. Everything on the plate was paired so well with the peppercorn sauce. They have a pretty lengthy specialty cocktails menu so it's hard to decide but our server was able to offer some great recommendations. The pear martini was good and not too sweet or tart. The John Wick is of course very popular and perfect for someone who likes smoky, dark hints. Overall, loved my time here. Food, drinks, vibes, and service were all so great!

Amrita G.

Yelp
It's a cute little place. Quick service and great food. The lamb sliders were amazing and so were the wings. The pork ribs were okay. Really enjoyed the buttered beer on a cold rainy night.

Christina C.

Yelp
I came here for the first time yesterday and the food was delicious! It's a small restaurant so be sure to have a reservation. They have indoor and outdoor seating and they're dog friendly. They have small plates that you share so come with a little group of people so that you can experience a good amount of the menu. Their menu also changes frequently. Shared Plates: Fries - $8 - these were really good. I wasn't big on the mayo but I liked the spice on the fries Sidecar House Salad - $12 - This was a nice fresh, light salad but not flavorful compared to everything else. Crispy Cauliflower - $13 - This was absolutely amazing! Everything about it was delicious Fried Yukon Gold Potatoes - $15 - Another fantastic dish. The sauces were so good Heritage Pork Belly - $22 - This was okay, but I'm not a big pork belly person Wild Caught Norwegian Halibut - $36 - Amazing! It melted in your mouth in the best possible way Lamb Sliders - $30 for 4 - These were great. None of us liked the sauce that was served on the side, but the sliders were so good that you didn't even need it. Desserts: Maple Semifreddo - $12 - I'm so happy we ended up ordering this. It was a beautiful dessert and it was fantastic tasting Valrhona Chocolate Brownie - $14 - Another winner. It comes with a scoop of vanilla ice cream I look forward to coming here in the future to experience more.

Yelp
We just dined here for the first time. We booked our reservation the same day online before Vasona Lights. It was a great vibe. It felt like the big city feel of a cool restaurant. So much so that we told our bartender/waiter that we need a location like this in Santa Cruz. He told us that there is one coming soon where Cafe Mare currently is... The food is family style. We enjoyed the charcuterie, grilled cheese, fries, octopus and lamb sliders. I don't think there was anything leftover! It was a hit for the adults and kids. We also had a few cocktails. They were served creatively and so good I couldn't have just one!

Andrew L.

Yelp
All around amazing spot and never disappoint with the drinks, food and service. Great French fries and don't miss the sidecar my favorite

Evelyn N.

Yelp
Delish drinks and interesting menu! Definitely would come back with friends and fam. Staff was attentive and patient with our party who took their time.

Yelp
Fantastic for dinner! My boyfriend and I came in on a Friday night after making a reservation the evening before. Like all the other reviews say, make a reservation! Sidecar is not a big place and they're very popular on weekends. We were seated outside on the front patio, which had a nice ambiance and those fancy flame tower heaters, but also not a lot of lighting (so excuse my questionable photo quality). Our server Kelly came over right away, and advised that 3-4 small plates would make sense between the two of us. For drinks, I started with the Pretty in Pink and my boyfriend chose the Scotch Kiss. Honestly, I didn't love my drink - while it was refreshing, it was just too floral for my taste. The Scotch Kiss was fantastic though. We had put in our food order at the same time, and some of it actually came out before the cocktails - the drinks do take a little while to make. We decided to share the Ahi Tuna Poke (SO fresh and tasty), Chicken Wings (literally perfect), Crispy Fried Prawns (also very good, lots of garlic), and 2 Lamb Sliders (soft and fantastic, great spicy dipping sauce). All the food was incredible and my boyfriend said the Chicken Wings were "the best he's ever had" - which means a lot because the man eats a LOT of chicken wings. We decided to get two more drinks to close out the night - I picked the Hole Mole, which I liked WAY more than my first drink and my boyfriend got the New York Sazerac (good, so boozy). I would have gotten a third cocktail (had my eye on The Dude Abides), but the timing just didn't work out since the drinks here took longer than the food. Overall, a great choice for date night!

Nick W.

Yelp
Delicious food! We ordered too much :) Try the ribs, cauliflower, and burrata. The service was good, and there is the option to sit at the tables or more of a couch/lounge style.

sally N.

Yelp
Just loved my John wick smoking cocktail. Enjoyed sitting out front on a small patio with heaters. Inside appeared very cozy. It was Cinco de Mayo and the halibut ceviche was one of the daily specials and delicious. They specialize in small plates and the Cauliflower dish was good too. Also tried the octopus tacos, bit disappointing, thought they were a bit bland.

Kayla L.

Yelp
Got here on a Saturday evening and got some drinks with snacks! I sat on the outside and the heat lamp was great and it was less noisy than the inside. I highly recommend to get the fries and Smokey passion for cocktail! The atmosphere, vibe, and service were great. I would love to come back to try their entrees.

Nina A.

Yelp
Swanky, sexy, and served delicious. If you have not added this hot spot to your Bevi-Collection, then your priorities and hobbies are a-miss. While this location does have small plate eats, it would be a hot take to come here for the pre-games or the night caps. Cocktails and visual stimulation is what Sidecar excels in. They have an outstanding easy-to-read menu of wonderful cocktails (traditional, fancy, house favorites, etc.), and an extensive wine and beer menu. The decor inside is just outstanding; darker vibes for all the tea you will spill with friends. There is patio seating with heaters as well. Be warned: it is a smaller joint, so come earlier or make a reservation. This place is popular for [very] good reason and it does fill up. Small plates are delicious. They use very fresh ingredients from broccoli to lamb sliders. IMO they are more of an appetizer than a meal, so perhaps do not come starving. All food served is cooked to perfection, unsure how they made the best broccoli in the world, but they achieved it. Customer service appeared to be shared by all attendants, which was a cool concept. It was very organized and every table well cared for. This place is excellent for a date night, and would be good for a small group up to 4 people. Absolutely loved this location and cannot wait to return.

Marian W.

Yelp
A great place for a fun night out. Delightful staff, amazing food, and delicious cocktails. Great for small groups (4-6 people), and a fun date night spot for sure. Sitting at the bar for a nightcap is highly recommended.

Kelly M.

Yelp
Shared the lamb sliders and the wings. The lamb sliders were good. I'd eat them again. The spicy sauce goes really well with it. The wings on the other hand, were completely flavorless and greasy. So greasy in fact that they disagreed with me, not once, but twice. The first time was immediately after getting home from eating and the second time was on the way back from the airport. I wasn't sure I was going to make it to my apartment. Luckily I did. In light of the issue with the wings, I can't in good faith recommend this restaurant. The ambience inside is nice, the wallpaper choices are a little interesting, but overall nice interior. The service was good but the place was understaffed. They had one girl acting as the hostess and the waitress. I'm not sure if I'd come here again. This was my second time eating here and the lamb sliders were good both times. But the disagreement with the wings was not an enjoyable experience.

Linnea E.

Yelp
Very enjoyable. We've been twice, and while it's not somewhere I'd go often, it's very good. My only complaint is that they seem a bit inconsistent on the food quality. Our first visit was perfect - 5 stars. We tried several small plates and loved them all. The chicken wings and lamb sliders were our favorites. The sliders really surprised us... super rich, very delicious. Fries are incredibly yummy! I can't recommend them enough! Drinks were very good, service as well. Our second visit was good, but more of a 3-star experience. Chicken wings this time were overcooked. Some things were great, some just so so. If it had been our first experience we probably wouldn't have gone back. We'll try again and decide from there whether it's a keeper for us or no.

Alvin C.

Yelp
Food, service and ambiance are stellar. Cozy place for friends or a date. Staff is always personable and they make you feel welcome. Unique drinks like the John Wick are what you can expect at Sidecar.

Vanessa G.

Yelp
My coworkers and I LOVE this place, their happy hour is unmatched. Weird thing to love but their fries are top tier hahaha. The half off oysters are also super great.

Traci S.

Yelp
Sidecar is an absolute staple of Los Gatos! We started going before COVID and have remained loyal patrons for many years! We love their brunch, eclectic dinner menu + fabulous specialty drinks! We also love (without a doubt) the staff at Sidecar who have become like family. We are at Sidecar at least once a week + held our post wedding party there last year as that was the perfect end to our perfect day. Highly recommend, especially the breakfast burrito, cold Raman (you read that right) and smoky passion cocktail!!

Katrina V.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I have passed by Sidecar Modern Tavern for years, but I decided to give the place a try on a whim. I called the restaurant to make a reservation, but they weren't able to accommodate us until 8pm or later. However, the hostess (shout out to Jackie) was nice enough to offer us an option. She told us that she could get us a table right then and there if we were able to make our way ASAP and could leave before a party came in for their 7pm reservation. We dropped everything we were doing and made a beeline to the restaurant. We arrived around 5:45pm and assured the hostess that we would be out way before 7pm. There was first-come-first-serve seating inside the restaurant, but we opted for the street view and beautiful weather. I already knew what I wanted from a quick glance of the menu. I ordered the fried cauliflower, fries, NY steak for two, and fried shrimp. Overall the food was delicious but with the exception of the fried shrimp, which I would definitely pass on next time. I liked that the fried cauliflower wasn't covered in batter. I did find that it was a bit too firm, so it could've cooked for a little bit longer. I loved the tahini sauce, which had a sweetness to it. I was a huge fan of the fries. They were covered in "Sidecar spice," which wasn't quite like Cajun seasoning but certainly reminiscent of it. The Japanese mayo was a nice touch. The NY strip dish came with a piece of bone with marrow, toasted and buttered baguette slices, and sliced grilled portabella mushrooms. We did ask for medium rare, but I found the steak to be on the side of medium well. Not a make-or-break though, because the NY strip was juicy, fatty, and tender and covered in a wonderful steak sauce. Loved the bone marrow and all of its gelatinous, umami goodness. The fried shrimp was just not my favorite. They dredge the entire shrimp, including its exoskeleton, which I couldn't seem to enjoy even though the cornstarch fry made the shell edible. Lastly, customer service was great. Our server was very friendly and attentive. We were also able to leave the restaurant well before the 7pm party came in since the kitchen was THAT efficient. Our food came out in such a timely manner.

Sandy Y.

Yelp
Stopped by to check out their cocktails! Each cocktail is ~$15+, so this a treat yourself place! We got the John Wick 4 and Smokey Passion. The Smokey Passion was our favorite of the two, hands down. I don't like my cocktails too sweet, and the Smokey Passion was perfect- a bit of spice, savory, a bit sweet all in one! Now I'm wondering where I can get some chipotle infused vodka.... Next time, I want to come back to check our their brunch menu. Apparently they use freshly grated horseradish in their bloody maries!

Kevin J.

Yelp
Summary: Bartender Alex is an absolute stud. Fun, attentive, and just an absolute pleasure to dine with. Hosts and chefs are working their pants off to deliver great quality meals with local ingredients and thoughtful pairings. Experience: Came in about an hour before closing on a busy Friday night. They were fully booked at the time. The host was able to point my party of 2 to a couple at the bar that was wrapping up, and had us wait a few minutes so we could grab the seat. Alex took our orders at the bar, gave us drink recommendations, checked in on us regularly, and was great all around. He even put together a fun novelty shot (the "jellyfish") for us before we left. Food: Fresh oysters: We got the last 6 of the day. Super fresh and tasty - decent size, nice briny finish. The chili mignonette is awesome. Black cod: Nicely cooked cod - flaky, buttery, with a very cool light dashi broth. NY Strip: Well seasoned steak with a big half-bone and marrow, and some amazing trumpet mushrooms on the side. Wow. Summer salad: Really good! The usual spring greens, but dressed up with cucumbers, strawberries, manchego cheese, streusel crumbs, and a really nice savory basil vinagrette. Drinks: I don't think the drinks we had are on the menu anymore, but they were super good, trust me. Well balanced, lots of interesting flavors. Try anything on the menu, it'll probably be amazing.

Yelp
Had a great pre-concert meal at this restaurant last night. We were able to get seating outside on a beautiful Tuesday night. The staff was friendly and efficient. We shared the grilled peach salad (next time will ask for dressing and bleu cheese on the side), the crispy cauliflower, and the fried prawns. (Fried prawns were excellent but be prepared.....they are messy and fried with shell on. Trying to take the shells off is an adventure!) Will definitely be back!

Yelp
What an awesome experience my friend and I had at Sidecar! Such a warm and inviting place to chill with friends over food and drinks. Gorgeous interior and there is patio seating too. Every item we tried was spectacular: brussel sprouts, sliders, chicken wings, chocolate cake. The meat in the sliders was unreal! It was hard not to mmm & ooohh with each bite. The service was stellar and everyone there was just wonderful. Loved the music and the positive energy each person exuded. I'll be telling friends to try Sidecar Modern Tavern for sure.

Tanita J.

Yelp
Yum! This is one of our favorite new spots. I had been wanting to come to sidecar tavern ever since I saw it's excellent reviews on Yelp. Believe me, it is worth every star! We made a reservation and we were seated immediately. Our server was amazing and explained the menu great. We ordered lamb sliders, crispy shrimp, cauliflower and crab. Every single dish was exquisite. When the food runners delivered each dish to the table they took time to explain what was in it. Besides taste, presentation was gorgeous. The pace of meal was perfect. It seemed that as soon as we finished a dish the next one came out. We later talked to the owner and he said they were slightly understaffed due to COVID. I couldn't believe it because we had the best service we've gotten at a restaurant since Covid started. I can't wait to come back and bring friends! This place is perfect.

Michelle D.

Yelp
What a fun spot for date night this was! The drinks here were so tasty and fun. They are the stars of the menu. Took a while for us to try this spot out, but I'm so glad we finally did. Dining outside was a bit chilly as fall is approaching, but the staff was so friendly and made sure to get a heater working for us. Don't make our mistake and be dumb; bring warm jackets. The atmosphere is really cool and trendy. All of the dishes that they are known for, were cooked perfectly. I thought the prices were high before we dined, but for how quality the presentations were, definitely worth it. We will return! Thank you SMT!

Michelle M.

Yelp
Stopped in to have brunch!!! Best decision ever! Food was so flavorful. Bloody Maria had me drooling for another. Chile verde was delicious made from a treasured recipe. Biscuits with honey butter.. yes Please! Ambiance is laid back and welcoming. Staff are super friendly and attentive. This is a definite return spot.

Shelby S.

Yelp
Adam took such good care of us he was friendly and not overly assertive. He brought us a drink to try and to be honest it was way better than the drinks we ordered. The environment was fun and hip. The service was fast and the employee described the dish so well even though he wasn't our main server. I recommend Adam as your server because he takes good care of anyone who comes through!

Christina W.

Yelp
This review is long overdue. This is my hands down my favorite spot in downtown LG-- if you love craft cocktails and wonderfully executed dishes (particularly the garlic prawns, lamb sliders, and steak specials) in a quirky-vintage-yet-somewhat-romantic atmosphere, you'll love this place too. Their menus change seasonally (also they don't update on their website), but some items are always consistently on the menu. The fried garlic butter prawns and lamb sliders are my personal favorites that they always serve! The prawns are fried completely, so you can eat the whole thing, from the head to tail. Trust me, you'll want to. They are so crispy and flavorful! My boyfriend and I would actually have cravings for this. The lamb sliders are also super flavorful (because of the meat's natural flavor, not because of it being too saucy), and the meat is so tender. I highly recommend trying these dishes. They sometimes have steak specials, like a ribeye that was just freshly butchered and brought in the same morning, which never disappoint. They always cook it correctly at the right temperature that you ask for. My boyfriend likes his filet mignons blue (more rare than just "rare"), but many steakhouses overcook his steaks to a regular rare or medium rare. We had a filet mignon for Valentines Day here, and it was cooked a perfect BLUE! We also tried the ribeyes a couple times as rare, and every time the steak came out really tender and flavorful. In addition to the food, the cocktails are outstanding (again, their menu online does not get updated, and there are actually a lot more cocktails on the menu than it says online). Divided into sections based on the flavor profiles, the cocktails are creative and balanced well. There is something for everyone! Some very memorable ones include the Snap Pea (they used fresh pea juice!), one with chamomile infused vodka I think (I don't remember the name), White Pearl Martini (they use this special Japanese strawberry vodka), and the John Wick (smoky bourbon based drink-- this one is an experience!). So... before you automatically order a glass of wine or beer, take a look at the cocktail menu first. :) This is honestly one of the few places that my boyfriend and I have never had a less than an amazing experience at. Every single time we are satisfied with their drinks, food, and service. We've been here numerous times, and it is without a doubt that we'll continue to be regulars here! Keep it up, Sidecar LG! Btw, to keep updated on their menu changes and announcements, follow them on Instagram (@sidecarlg)!

Yelp
Make reservations for this place. It's always busy. The wait is 1 to 1.5 hours. We made reservations 1-2 weeks prior and we were seated otudoors right away. It was Saturday at 5pm. We called to let them know that we were running 10-15 mins late and they said it was ok. There's indoor and outdoor seating. We ordered the Smokey Passon, John Wick, Crema De Melons, and Awayuki Julep. The Awayuki was the worst out of the 4 and had a lot of ice in it too. Cocktails very from $14-18. It's not cheap. Wines are prices of $13-20. Beers are $8-10. We also ordered salt spring island mussels and fries for $28. Again, expensive. Some mussels were tiny and some a bit bigger. Salty wine broth too. Street parking or find some other parking lots to park in. Parking isn't too bad. Service was decent.

Yelp
So vegetarians be warned, the brunch menu lacks choices for us. There is a chefs special which I have to say was delicious but essentially was asparagus, nectarines and tomatoes. I mean don't get me wrong, like I said it was absolutely delicious but when I want brunch I want brunch. Keith the bartender made it all better with his sunny personality and awkward convos. Totally endearing. The John Wick is a fun drink but tastes essentially like a smoky old fashioned. A little too sweet for me. I liked it smoked for three minutes. Would love to come back to try their dinner menu and another drink.

Yelp
The service was very good and the appetizers, salads and main dinners are excellent. I highly recommend the Thai curry.

Yelp
Sidecar never fails to disappoint. I love the food but man oh man those cocktails. A couple years ago I wasn't into cocktails honestly (*gasp*) until my girlfriend introduced me to Sidecar. I wrote a review back then raving about the Dirty Old Man- which taught me that Mezcal can be amazing. Fast forward, I've tried some amazing cocktails from Maui to Paris and... I gotta say Sidecar is still my personal favorite. Case in point the John Wick 4... So smokey, perfectly balanced... Oh man. If you like old fashioned you HAVE to try it! I know I should talk about the food today but I can't stop thinking about the cocktails. Cheers!

Yelp
has a good vibe when you are inside. Got there around 5pm or so; sat down. Took 15minutes to get some water. 5min pass, and i get an old fashioned. Wasn't very good and the ice wasn't right, and was not mixed very well. Biggest complaint was the music was WAY too loud. Couldn't hear my wife across me. I think i will try again, but will be outside when the weather is nice again. I prefer the Vesper in Campbell..

Yelp
Super fun restaurant with amazing ambience. Loud fun music. Everyone is having a good time. It took a bit to get service but once we did it kept rolling... The lamb sliders were a bit dry. The hamachi crudo was a bit bland. Everything needed salt. Go for the vibe!!

Yelp
Great food, atmosphere and service. I knocked a star because I thought the food could have been a little more "to die for." That being said, the cocktails were fantastic and I loved the old millennial music, fun for a group.

Yelp
I was really glad a friend of mine posted her visit here and shared her photo of the John Wick. I was immediately drawn and knew I had to check this place out. I wanted to go the next day, but turns out reservations are recommended and everything was already booked. So I went ahead and booked for the following weekend. I made reservations for outdoor seating. Checking in was a breeze and got seated right away. Our server came soon after to greet us and answer any questions we might have. He told us the specials of the day, which all sounded amazing! We ended up getting the oysters, which were excellent. We also got the octopus tostada and the candied bacon pizza. The tostada is on their shareable menu even though you only get one. I thought that was a little hard to share and could easily be an individual appetizer. It was delicious though. The octopus was braised perfectly and was very tender. All the flavors blended very well together. Very enjoyable plate. The pizza was great as well. For drinks, we got the John Wick and the Spring Fling. I've been wanting to try a whiskey served with smoke. The John Wick is made with Bulleit bourbon, which isn't my favorite, but with the added smoke was actually very pleasant! I'm also a fan of John Wick and love the bullet driven into the glass and the smoke swirling into the glass while the drink is poured. It's so visually sexy! Haha. The Spring Fling was so good too. On the sweet side, it's quite refreshing and the flower ice adds a very pretty visual as well. For dessert, we got the brownie with toasted hazelnut. Excellent! The brownie is perfectly sweet and chewy. The vanilla ice cream has real vanilla, unless it's just flavoring, but it was sooo good with the brownie. Yum!!!! I've been to bars that serve food, but most of the time the food sucks and the whole experience just isn't as satisfying. You get the best of both food and drinks here. Service is great, and the overall vibe is very chill. I will definitely come back to try more food items and get a whiskey flight. They have a pretty good offering here, and a custom flight is available by request.

Yelp
Great little place in LG for dinner and cocktails. Came here on Sunday and was pleasantly surprised at the quality of food they serve as I was just expecting some nice cocktails and bar food. We had the charcuterie plate and chicken wings for appetizers and both were great. The wings were well seasoned (not hot wings, but their own spices) and were tender and juicy. I had the mushrooms and truffle pasta which was amazing! So many mushrooms! Hubby had the burger ( surprise! It came with two patties). Everything was great! Ambiance, service and price. Will defiantly come back.

Yelp
Wow, Sidecar Modern Tavern is such a vibe! We went here when they first opened, on the fifth day. At that time, they were still working out the kinks, but the service was already amazing. Fast forward through Covid, and a few years later, and they are the best restaurant in Los Gatos! Everything is perfect, from the ambience, the cool art throughout the restaurant, the mixologist, the chef, and the sweetest servers! Not only that, corkage for the first bottle is free, and the second bottle is $20! The food is high quality and an expensive. Date night for two, and we left stuffed and buzzed was under $100! Josh is the best server/owner with the best vibes and sexiest ankles west of the Mississippi! Thank you for a great night! This is a note to myself to remember to try the white Russian inspired drink next time, since I didn't have belly space for it this time. This time we ordered the Chicharrón's, peach salad, bone marrow, lamb sliders, and french fries. Everything was great! We will be back to try the rest of the menu soon! I can't wait for them to open their new restaurant that is going to be two doors down from the current one, and wine themed!!!!!
