Didn't want us there...?
We had never been here before, and we wanted to catch the Sunday games and grab some food. We were pretty excited about it! Party of 2 adults and 3 kids (ages 8-11). We got there around 1:00pm so the games were already on. Walked inside to be see 3-4 hostesses and a security guard. There were no other patrons at the hostess stand and no one waiting for a table so I thought we were in luck. I gave a smile, a proper greeting and said there'll be 5 of us. One hostess returned a smile, a greeting and said they are full right now since it's game time. Not one hostess went to look for a table. They said they don't anticipate anyone leaving. I said ok, we will wait and put our name in. She said they don't do wait lists. I said, can I leave my phone number? She said no. I was a little confused, so we left since we weren't given any other seating options and it was almost like "we don't want you here." Upon walking out, there was an empty outside table/fire pit/TV with a menu and two waters, no one was seated there. I asked the fam if they would want to sit there, and they said that'll work. I walked back inside and asked the hostess if that was available and she said to wait a little bit to see if anyone came back to the table. I said no problem. Meanwhile, at least two tables that I could see were being cleaned. I went back up and asked about the few empty outdoor covered seating areas with the TV's and she said that you can only sit there if you have 8 people. I asked if you had to pay or had a minimum to sit there and she said no, just 8 people. I thought it was strange that the only one in use had 3-4 people sitting at it with no signs of 8 people. The security guard perhaps doubles as a host because he felt that he needed to reply to me also. I was getting the vibe from the hostess stand that we weren't welcome. We waited for about 5+ minutes when I went back up and asked we could squeeze into the empty booth, 3 booths behind the hostess stand that was empty and miraculously a table opened up in the big tv room with turf. Our server was awesome and quick. We had the sampler platter, however the boneless wings were cooked, yet hardly warm. Our server was a 10/10, food was 8/10, cocktail and beer was good. Kids got sodas. I'm a retired, disabled veteran w/23yrs+ & w/multiple deployments. My situational awareness is extreme. I thought it was strange that as we were seated, at various times, I saw different hostesses walking around with patrons, looking for tables with them. I couldn't help but think in the end that we weren't wanted there, which is interesting because the males in our group were wearing collared shirts and the females were wearing dresses. We always smiled, and always said please and thank you. We left a 20% tip and departed. Pretty much felt discriminated against by the hostesses. Perhaps some trained professionals at the front hostess stand would do this place a solid because a handful of reviews I just read also complained about the general lack of courteousness.
