29 Iconic French Quarter Dining Experiences

"A staple of New Orleans cuisine, the classic Muffuletta sandwich boasts briny olive spread and cured meats, and Central Grocery is where it all began. The third-generation, family-owned grocery has been closed since Hurricane Ida — with plans to reopen by Fall 2024 — but it’s still churning out its famous sandwiches to grab next door at Sidney’s. Grab one of the sesame loaf sammies and take a stroll down Decatur Street." - Eater Staff

Best Muffulettas in New Orleans | Eater New Orleans

"While the singular gold standard for the muffuletta, Central Grocery, prepares to reopen in January 2024 (hopefully), there’s an easy way to get your fix, and it doesn’t even involve going out to Metairie for a visit to Zuppardo’s (though you can get them there as well). Simply go next door to Sidney’s Wine Cellar, where they sell Central Grocery-made muffs, either a half ($14) or a full sandwich ($25 and serves four). It’s just as good as you remember, promise." - Beth D’Addono

Wondering What to Eat While Visiting New Orleans? Grab a Muffuletta | Eater

"A neighboring wine shop that has been selling the deli’s muffuletta while repairs are underway, offering half and full sandwiches (a full can top out near $30 and comfortably serve four). It tends to have shorter lines, clear signage directing customers, and provides the same tightly wrapped packaging ideal for taking the sandwich on a plane." - Missy Frederick

Google
Currently closed for renovations due to Hurricane Ida, the BEST muffuletta’s in Nawlins’ are made by the Central Grocery. Stop next stop to Sidney’s Wine Cellar to grab their famous sandwiches!

Google
The muffuletta was amazing. Got a half because it's huge. Very well sealed packaging. Looked and tasted very fresh. Staff was nice. Side note: they had Titos in liter sizes, I've never seen before, maybe a south thing?

Google
Staff was super helpful and friendly! Just got to town and made a couple of beverage purchases. Life is good we will be back.

Great spot to get rare whiskey.

Google
Well first, Hats Off to Sidney’s for helping out a fellow neighbor and second thank you for selling Central Grocery’s famous muffuletta sandwich. Central Grocery is closed and still under repair from storms, but Sidney’s Wine Cellar next door is selling that mentioned sandwich out of their store. The sandwich doesn’t disappoint either! I got a half size because the whole is the size of a medium pizza. It was very good and filling and surprisingly fresh and not soggy considering the sandwiches are pre-made. A definite treat I enjoyed back at my hotel the next day after buying mine. My cost for the half size was $16.45 including tax, well worth the cost, I had two meals out of the half of sandwich.

Google
Looks like I’m not the only one that thinks the staff here is super rude; just read the other reviews. I’ve been twice now, with the same experience both times. The people behind the counter couldn’t care less about you. CVS is just up the street, with better prices and better service.

Google
Convenient spot to grab a beer or pickup a drink while near the French Market. Hit the streets: the folks at the counter are happy to pop your tops and brown-bag you. The expansive selection is worth making a dedicated trip, even if you're not in the area. Also, this is the furthest from PA I've been able to find a Yuengling.

Google
If you're walking the Quarter people watching or taking a break from the crowds, Sidney's is the place to go. Stop in and grab a beer (or bottle of your favorite liquor) and walk around. Cheap beers. Great atmosphere. Currently, the best place to get a Central Grocery muffelatta.

Yelp
This place has the central market muffulettas stashed behind the counter so if you are looking for them just ask the cashier. Wd went for the muffulettas but ended up checking out and purchasing quite a few chip varieties to go with it because even getting just the half muffuletta we took 4 sittings to eat it all lol. I cant review them for wine or alcohol of any sort but this place gives "convenience" store at its BEST. Very clean and well organized and the staff was really nice and directed us to where everything is located because trust me there is ALOT to choose from but you wont be disappointed!

Yelp
We bought a central city muffuletta here since the shop next door is closed for repairs. When we bought it, the cashier made a rude comment when I asked if there was any way to get it cut in half. (" there are many ways to cut a sandwich in half, but it's your sandwich, so I will let you figure that out "). We let it go and proceeded to the park to eat. Once there, we noticed that the sandwich had an expiration date of 8/28, and it is currently 9/1. When we brought the sandwich back to let her know, she told us that the date there was a "made on" date and not an expiration date as it was clearly stated. I politely asked for a refund, since the sandwich was completely sealed and clearly not touched. She refused to issue a refund for the expired sandwich, saying all sales are final. Avoid this place!!

Yelp
Absolute worst service that I've had anywhere!! Bar none! The scraggly looking guy (beard, lt brown hair, trucker hat. He looks like he should be sitting outside begging for money) was so rude. We stopped in on Sat 11/2/24 at around 7:20pm.. We were getting rung up, when I asked about the muffaletta, I wanted to know if I should pick up Sun or if I should wait until Mon. He says "we don't have anything to do with Muffaletta!!!" I said " You mean you don't sell it and pointed to the cooler on the other side that held said muffaletta?? He was so f'n rude, that he put a damper on my night. What a miserable person! I've been buying Central Grocery Muffaletta from Sidney's since Central Grocery has been shut down for renovations. Every year, I buy several, I just wanted to know if I should buy them earlier or not. I think there were even signs that said to ask about the Muffaletta. I'm sure people buying them has brought a lot of business to Sidneys's, this guy should not be working with the public! There is usually a lady during the day that we normally deal with, she is pleasant.

Yelp
Just went for the muffuletta. It was awesome. Friendly staff. Great selection of wines if needed

Yelp
The famous Muffuletta sandwiches by Central Grocery (still closed next door) are pre-made and stocked here. When you walk into the store, there is a small sign directly ahead (facing towards you on the closest wood shelf) advertising the famous Muffulettas. The Muffuletta sandwiches are stocked in a small refrigerator behind the front counter so you must ask the clerk to purchase it. A half muffuletta (cut in two pieces) is $18. A whole muffuletta is $27 (cut in four pieces) and nearly the size of a small pizza. I suggest paying cash since Sidney's charges a small surcharge fee if you use a credit card. The muffuletta is very well packaged in its own plastic bag so you do not need any additional bag for carrying. The clerk was friendly to me. The muffulettas are equally delicious as I remember eating them inside Central Grocery's store next door.

Yelp
Went over to Sindeys to get a muffuletta from Central Groceries. However, an employee said they've been closed for two years very rudely. He said, "they've been closed for two years and you can just Google it". While we under the impression we weren't able to buy anything from central grocery because of him later I found out that was incorrect. The employee needs to learn some manners.

Yelp
We stopped in to pick up "the big ole famous sandwich from next door" just before heading to the airport for our flight home. There are signs outside to advise that, while the repairs are completed next door, you can grab yourself a sandwich here. On entry, we found a register on each side of the door, both were staffed and the gent to the right greeted us cheerfully. We had our sandwich and we were out the door in less than 5 minutes. Staff were friendly & efficient. I kind of regret not taking the opportunity to take a better look around the store to see what they offer for their own products. Anywho, great stop!

Yelp
Thank you Sidney's for helping me to get the best and original muffuletta sandwich while in town! Short line, moved fast, and I was very excited as I had walked about 1mile to get this delicious sandwich, next door to original location while is being renovated. I called an the first day was sold out! but on day two I called ahead & I was able to make it down in time to get one!

Yelp
You need to accept credit cards, always -- not just sometimes. You do get a little credit for "sometimes" though, but it does not make up for a wasted trip.

Yelp
I excitedly bounced into this store not for liquor, but for a world famous muffuletta from Central Gro. Co. whivh happens to be under renovation d/t Hurricane Katrina some years back. I was so happy to see the arrow directing customers to Sidney's where their muffulettas are sold until Central re-opens. I did not see a sign or any indication that muffuletta's were there so I politely asked. The cashier was nice-nasty as she shined a flashlight at the sign that I clearly missed as I entered. It wasn't immediately noticeable amid all the crammed clutter (liquor) in the store. I shared my apprehension of trying it with a customer who encouraged me to try it. I wasn't certain if I wanted it after seeing it wasn't freshly prepared like the Grocer sells them. In the meantime a group of older men came in behind me also inquiring about them. They too didn't see the sign. The cashier on the other side pointed a flashlight at the sign and began yelling at the customers as to what the sign said and what to do if they wanted one. Immediately my antennas rose and I was hot as fish grease! That is simply no way to treat any customer and I was furious. I thought to myself, if this is any indication or reflection of Central Gro. Co., they can have it. I was so appalled that I made a U-turn and immediately left the store MUFFALETTA-LESS! There are many other places in New Orleans that sell Muffulettas, so I was not out of anything except for my blood pressure rising to the ceiling. I am not sure what is wrong with people who think it's OK to treat customers any kind of way. money is green and even if you don't like a person, you should act like it so that you are able to receive their business. I made up my mind long ago that I would not pay anyone for any service to treat me like crap and I mean it. This was the second encounter in one day where someone acted ugly and I made a U-turn and left without purchasing anything. I've learned that it is OK to do without and be content. While I am enjoying my stay in New Orleans, I'm finding that some of the people here that are business owners have much to be desired. I may not make a difference where there are thousands and thousands of customers, but this lady will always carry dignity and pride in how she treats others and how she spends her coins. Enough said! How bout it?

Yelp
Sidneys has a nice charm to it. Eclectic Cashiers, ready to help with directions to a product you can't find on your own.. They have a wide selection of home goods, and obviously wine/liquor. They have a nice array of Smoking materials, candy, snacks, drinks. I've grabbed a few cold drinks, a couple of winekeys, and a few order Orderbooks at Sidneys, and the fun loving, happy, and interesting cashiers make it easy to tip for their latest "project" It also offers Central Groceries Muffaletta while it's under renovations.

Teresa M.

Yelp
Extremely rude staff member. He seemed to be put out by the Central Grocery Muffaletta customers. First day we saw a note on the door saying they were out of Muffalettas and Don't Ask! Next day no sign so I went in and was asked if I wanted a Muffaletta. I said 'yes' and he rudely snapped 'Read the sign' and pointed to one inside the store with prices. I told him 'I know, I read the sign outside' and he said 'this is different. Get your other stuff first, then come up and buy Muffaletta'. I didn't want anything else in his dirty store and was glad to see the Muffaletta was wrapped and sealed by Central Grocery so I didn't have to worry about him tainting it with something. I do not recommend this place at all unless you're a masochist. The Muffaletta was good though no thanks to him.

Yelp
Was able to get the Central Grocery Muffuletta here! Ask at the counter. In my opinion, the best in the city.

Yelp
We came all the way from Los Angeles to get one of Central Grocery's unbelievable muffuletta. We had one 7 years ago and couldn't wait to have it again, they are outstanding. We found out once we got to town that Central Grocery's was being refurbished and Sidney's next door was going to offer Centrals muffuletta on Monday's, Wednesday's and Friday's. We went to the store on Wednesday to pickup up a FRESH muffuletta and ask the girl behind the counter if the muffuletta had arrived from Centrals off site kitchen today. We asked if the fresh batch of muffuletta had arrived and the RUDE girl told us in a very RUDE tone that these muffuletta aren't fresh because they are full of processed meats and that she "sells them, first come last sold'. She told us we were RUDE to ask if they were fresh, or if they arrived today and she continued to be a total bitch, and repeat there's nothing fresh about this sandwich. I told her the bread is. LOVED OUR MUFFULETTA even if she tried to ruin it. We couldn't believe a store would have a worker treat customers so poorly. We will NEVER go into SIDNEYS again for anything!

Monique S.

Yelp
We went to the market next-door and it was closed and it said to get a muffaletta next-door at Sydney's. We thought, great, we can pick up some wine and spirits too. The guy working there was such a complete asshole that we bought our muffaletta and left. Bummer for Sydney's because we went to another store and bought $215 in spirits, wine and mixers.
google avatar

John J.

Yelp
Stopped in to get a muffuletta since they were selling them for the Central Market next door that was under construction. The sandwich was great but the gal at the register dressed like a middle aged stripper was very rude. It's a shame because the Central Grocery people were so nice.
google avatar

stephanie a.

Yelp
Fantastic that we could get the muffuletta sandwiches there. Great friendly service! Fabulous sandwiches from Central Kitchen!

Brian K.

Yelp
5 stars for RUDE employees!! Go get your muffuletta somewhere else!! They are selling muffuletta's at several other locations but don't go here. Don't try and stand in line and wait when they are waiting on more to arrive apparently there is no loitering "BS" and they will run you off. But the guy working can stand out front and smoke every 30 minutes. Note to the rude female employee.. don't tell people to go away and you won't run out when you have a sold out sign on the door and more will arrive at 2. Most of us have traveled a long way to get a muffuletta. Seems like this is a big hassle for them.
google avatar

James D.

Yelp
The website clearly states that the closing time is 11:00pm. I called to confirm this fact. I arrived at 9:49pm and approached the door. The cashier informed me that THEY were closed. I went to my car and called the establishment to explain my disbelief! Damian told me that it had been a long weekend and that THEY were definitely closed! Needless to say...I won't be shopping at this establishment ever again!
google avatar

Wanda W.

Yelp
Central Grocery is next door and closed for repairs. They offer their muffuletta sandwich in a corner of Sidney's. Central Grocery should be aware that the staff of Sidney's or whomever is behind that counter is extremely rude. No New Orleans welcome there.
google avatar

Jared O.

Yelp
rude staff and expensive. literally no reason to bother going here. the muffuletta's are mediocre at best too. go to verti marte or matassa's market instead

Kylan H.

Yelp
Anyone leaving a good review for this place must be a family member. The lady with the stocking cap on asked if I wanted to "fight her" when she told me they were charging $700 for a bottle of Weller Full Proof. That's almost $400 more than any other price gouger I have seen! If you want stuff to sit on your shelf for 40 years, have a great time! $250 for a bottle of Blantons that should be $100 at most. LOL
google avatar

Denise W.

Yelp
just plain nasty people working at this store. we got yelled at for saying "hello" and excuse me" so a delivery man could get down the aisle we were standing in. the 2 workers actually yelled at us to not speak with the gentleman because he's working! I've never experienced any like this. when I asked " so I can't say hello?" I was told by a robotic Woman - " no you can't". Wow - can't people just be nice.? This was ridiculous!
google avatar

Krista B.

Yelp
Super friendly and knowledgeable staff. The only place in town that carries the coveted locally made absinthe!
google avatar

Theresa S.

Yelp
They apparently allow charges to be made without a credit card present. Someone stole our info and got some booze. Sent the owners a message, called them, my cc company has tried getting in touch and never heard back from them. Cheers assholes. Hope your holiday is merry and bright.
google avatar

Kevin B.

Yelp
Business is closed due to hurricane ida damage still listed as open it's nit open at all

Yelp
This unassuming Store is a great find. Tucked into a small storefront a couple of blocks away from Jackson Square if you didn't know it was there you'd miss it, be sure that you don't though! You can pick up a good bottle of wine, tasty local beers, and absinthe. Funny Facts... they sold Absinthe before it was made legal and still carry the European Brands that aren't found at most places. Prices aren't that bad, especially considering it's inside of French Quarter. *** Also a good friend of mine Jezabel (Gwen) is the manager of the shop if you stop by be sure to say Nicollette sent you! She won't even mind if you stop by more than once. even if she doesn't happen to be there till the 3rd time you stop in *** hint hint Mr. S***
google avatar

Bill T.

Yelp
Can't comment on wine, alright, so cut me some slack. But seriously folks, I was looking for a specific beer, LA-31 Grenade and darned if Sidney's didn't have it. Not only that, they poured it in a cup for me so I could drink it. Furthermore, they had some old-ass Russian vodka sold in a bottle shaped like a rifle! Guns and booze! What's cooler than that. This place is the shizz, yo. They have mad beer and stuff. GYATTP. BT, out....
google avatar

Jenn C.

Yelp
"Of course we have bags - this is a store" was the deadpan response from the cashier when it placed my selection on the counter for purchase. "Don't worry - you don't lose progressive points for not bringing one." Lots of riff raff outside and some amount of tourists just looking to get drunk on cheap beer - try to navigate around them to find the good stuff. Found Magnolia "Southern Pecan" on a top shelf and the cashier complimented me on the choice. It's small but has some excellent options. And bags.
google avatar

Charles O.

Yelp
Went in to stock up on alcohol and snacks and was surprised by the rude and openly hostile staff. I got the clear impression they resented having to be there. Last time in this store.
google avatar

Jonathan C.

Yelp
One of a few liquor stores open until midnight. Good selection and prices.
google avatar

Mary S.

Yelp
While exploring the French Quarter I saw that it had just hit noon and for someone who isn't used to drinking early on in the day I thought it was a reasonable time to start! They have a large selection of individual beverages to choose from so you can just grab and go on your merry way. It was only $2 and change for a Strongbow hard cider which is a great deal considering the prices we had been paying on Bourbon St and Canal St bars. As I walked up to the register looking like I was about to do something wrong (day drinking AND while walking the streets?! Greatness) they offered me a cup but I declined so they put it in a brown paper bag for me, which was a good idea because it was 45 deg out that day. No lines, no waiting, pain free stop to grab a drink on the go!
google avatar

Amanda K.

Yelp
Buying drinks in the French Quarter is painfully pricey to say the least... and that's where Sidney's comes in! I wish I would have found this little gem earlier in the afternoon I spent wandering around the French Market and Riverwalk. They have a HUGE selection of beer and wine, as well as all of the necessities for drinking on the street (i.e. plastic cups, paper bags, etc). Two Abita Strawberry in a can, yes please! $4 bucks for said Abita, GTFO! Prices like that are pretty much unheard of in the heart of the French Quarter, so this place is a godsend to say the least. Paid with a $5 bill, and the cashier held it up to the light to make sure it was legit. I asked her if they get a lot of counterfeit money? She said yes, especially counterfeit $1's. Totally cracked me up! If I was putting forth the effort to make counterfeit money I definitely wouldn't waste my time on dollar bills, but hey that's NOLA for ya. No longer will I dread coming down to the Quarter and paying an arm and two legs for drinks in the city. Next time in in the area and looking for libations Sidney's is my go to, now and forever. Go to Sidney's, buy cheap drinks, enjoy the Quarter!
google avatar

Daniel A.

Yelp
Nice selection but check the beers. Some of the beer is old and needs to be rotated. Over all they had a nice selection of beer.
google avatar

Miranda B.

Yelp
Pro tip: when hanging out in the French Quarter, grab your favorite drinks from Sidney's and pay a fraction of what you'd be paying anywhere else in the area. They've got an excellent selection and are always super friendly.
google avatar

Eddie M.

Yelp
Beer-thirty doesn't get any more local on Decatur Street than Sidney's. The perfect stop on Mardi Gras Day, too!
google avatar

marian r.

Yelp
Sidney's is the tourists delight, right off Decauter, easy to grab that cold beer or bottle for the hotel room. Staff willing to help , "we don't have a 6 pack, but I'll make u one". Talk about service! My favorite liquor store
google avatar

Mike K.

Yelp
I have lived here for 6 years went there to buy cigarettes and coffee then stopped when I was getting over charged for things I knew the prices of It is hard to even walk in the door of the place because it's turned into a hang out for the homeless I had 4 people ask me for money in 20 feet of the place then I get in they doubled the prices on everything and cigarettes I walk up to the counter and the 2 guys looked like they have not taking a bath in months I bought the cigs was so upset how dirty the place was I WILL NEVER GO BACK
google avatar

Armand A.

Yelp
Mediocre selection of bourbon and whisky. Fine is you are just looking for the basics.
google avatar

Andrea H.

Yelp
Best place to buy beer in the quarter. Excellent service from intelligent staff that are passionate about wine/liquor/beer. They can even special order stuff (I have been known to give fancy schmancy liquor as a gift).. If you are a super broke student or just insanely cheap, grab beers at sidney's and walk around the quarter with them, instead of paying a ton at a daq shack. Yes, the people hanging around outside are super annoying, and the tourists lining up to eat at Central Grocery mindlessly stare into space instead of politely moving to let customers enter, but this place is well worth it.
google avatar

Branden W.

Yelp
Being an absinthe connoisseur, I'm giving Sydney's Wine Cellar a review solely based on their absinthe selection, considering there aren't many great places to find good absinthe in New Orleans. Also because I don't really buy anything other than absinthe here anyway. For the first time absinthe buyer, it would seem as though there are plenty of brands of absinthe to choose from, however if we are talking good absinthe, then there are 3 or 4 good brands here among their selection of 15 or so absinthe brands. Here you will find Pacifique and Heritage-- two of the better brands out there. Also available is the more expensive Nouvelle-Orleans made by Jade Liquers. All three of these brands come highly recommended by The Dandy of New Orleans. The girl that works here seemed a little angry and frustrated at the world, but whenever I buy absinthe here, the guy seemed to know what he was talking about. He agreed that the brands I mentioned are the best available-- at least at Sydney's Wine Cellear. When in the Vieux Carre, stop on by and treat yourself to some good absinthe.

Yelp
Picture it: New Orleans. End of June. Probably around 90-something degrees and dense humidity, even though it's the evening. After seeing a show in the Quarter I had the BRILLIANT idea to actually "go out" somewhere down there. Meanwhile I'm in heels. So dumb. Where am I going with this? Well, here it is. I was walking in the heels and the heat and the humidity when I decided I needed AC and ASAP. The cool air was flowing out of this place and we immediately went in, not even knowing what it was. Well, it turns out that it is a really cool place that sells a TON of beer and wine. They had beer that I didn't even know was sold down here! I was impressed. Although I personally didn't buy anything, they are getting five stars because of what my friend did and how they handled it. Well, he had a huge bottle of beer ($14) that he was going to buy when gravity fought back and he dropped it. Bottle smashed, beer e'rrywhere, some got on my shoe. It was a mess. The guy working there immediately rushed over, cleaned it up and when my friend insisted on paying for the broken bottle (as well as a new one) he was told not to worry about it. He just charged my friend for the unbroken bottle, told us to tell people about the place and sent us on our way. He was so nice. You know as many drunk people as that guy sees in a night, he could have been SUPER ornery about the whole thing but he wasn't. So five stars it is. And I will be back.
google avatar

Christopher W.

Yelp
Huge selection of wine and spirits but the best part is that they have the 16 oz cans of Steigl Radler, the best beverage ever made. If you can't find what you need at Sidney's nobody has it.
google avatar

Chris T.

Yelp
SCOTTY. What can I say about that dude? His KNOWLEDGE OF WINES, LIQUOR & BEER is an alcoholic's dream of pairing, comparables, aperitif's. Youngman GENIUS! BEST PRICES IN THE QUARTER! ! Semi-pretentious staffing is what keeps the locals coming back! They know who's who, aside from the standard tourist or the raggedy-assed Gutter Punk Spangers. Specific requests? See Scott! He has tracked down specific libations for me, AND keeps them in stock for me. KUDOS MATEY!! 100K STARS FROM THE CHILLY DADDY! !!!
google avatar

Sabrina K.

Yelp
This liquor store was a great little find while we were walking along Decatur St. It's a very tidy spot filled with a wonderful selection of Craft Beers, Wine and Spirits. The employees were very nice and helpful on the couple trips I made here. If you are looking for a great selection of Craft Beers you definitely should stop into Sidney's!
google avatar

Bryan R.

Yelp
This just in: you can openly drink in public in New Orleans. If this wasn't the very reason you chose to visit, take a moment to appreciate it now and walk over to Sidney's Wine Cellar. I myself had some serious reservations; in a place where open drinking is not only tolerated by seemingly encouraged, one would expect businesses catering to that caliber of clientele to be somewhat seedy. Not so. I walked in to a well stocked store with a delightful variety of beers and wines from two-buck-chuck to imported Scottish Lagers. When my female companion and I were searching for the right kind of beer on a hot day we were helped out by Hugh (at least that's what the name on the card said) who talked us through the right drink to try for the river walk we were about to take. They even gave us plastic cups (glass is not legal) to drink our beverages with. It's was a pretty impressive operation.

Yelp
This is always my go to spot when Im on Decatur, or Im about to wait in line for dinner at Coops. The selection is vast, the prices are cheap (respectively) and the service is always friendly and attentive. I normally stock up on a couple of Restoration Ales and then walk the quarter. It's far more cost effective to grab a couple of beers here before venturing out to the bars. I wish there were more spots like this in NYC.

Yelp
Sidney's is a beautiful little hole in the wall on Decataur (though on Decatuar you could toss around "hole in the wall" like so much confetti, but I digress). After trying absinthe for the first time at the Old Absinthe House, I decided to take a bottle home. Not only did Sidney's have a great selection of absinthe (about 8 different varieties, if I recall), but the staff was extremely helpful. The woman behind the counter told me which brands she had in her home bar, and eventually helped me settle on Lucid (which was one of the cheaper bottles) as a good bottle for an absinthe neophyte. If you're not looking for absinthe, fear not. They also have pretty much anything else you could want, including a nice selection of locally made/locally themed alcohol (like sazerac rye whiskey, praline-pecan liqueur, and Absolut New Orleans vodka). And if you're too thirsty to wait, they have a nice selection of cold, single bottle beers and malt drinks (and a sign that makes sure you know that, yes, you can drink on the street in New Orleans). Anyone looking for a great selection of alcohol with a knowledgeable staff should stop by Sidney's.

Yelp
This place is my go to spot in the French Quarter. One of the best parts of NOLA is getting to walk around with your choice of alcoholic beverage. As a local, I would say this is the spot in the Quarter to get your "walking beer." Don't be that guy who pays eight bucks for a Miller Lite at some tourist trap bar when you could get a solid local or craft beer for only a couple bucks! They've got a great selection of single beers (and wine).
