Highlights

If you've found us you've been digging deep, searching for something different; something unique, hip, exclusive, chic. A place that buzzes via genuine old fashioned word of mouth. A place visited by groovy, choosy people... like you. 200 year old Leopoldina stone villa in tuscany An historic, square, brick and stone villa on a bluff, with long, long views. Dating from around 1750, abandoned since the 1940's, a beautiful plundered ruin transformed into a blissful hideaway by it's English owners. Restored to forever-house specifications, with a sculptor's eye and a design-loving purse, the spirit and layout of the property stay true to it's Tuscan country house heart. Only 4 luxurious bedrooms. So much space. Large open retreat and socializing zones within on both floors. Outside: Walled Tuscan country garden. Nature. Soft lawns to pad about on. Large salt water pool with breezes and views. Comfort and escape whatever the weather. Located well for sight seeing we are recommended for Tuscany explorers, designer shoppers, wine tasters, hill town climbers, chic city window-shoppers, Florence day trippers, romantic weekend away stay-at-homers, and easy connections for Rome. If you can't decide which gorgeous Tuscan hill town or valley to base yourselves in then this might also be the spot for you. WORD OF MOUTH: From the Experts. MONOCLE: 'The couple's deep knowledge of the area teamed with their fine cooking skills make for the perfect rural Italian holiday' ~ Daniel fisher.

"As a description, of course, Siena House is perfectly accurate. With just two double rooms and two two-bedroom suites, it’s certainly on the scale of a guest house rather than a hotel. Stylistically, it’s certainly distinctive, marrying contemporary Italian design with an impressive collection of modern art. And its location, near Montepulciano in the province of Siena, is a foodie’s paradise and an oenophile’s dream." - The MICHELIN Guide

I don’t normally leave reviews but this one is so well deserved as we had such a relaxing holiday at Siena House. It’s the perfect level of hospitality: more freedom than a hotel, with the ability to use the guest kitchen and roam over the property without sharing the space with too many other people, but removes the work of renting your own villa. Malvin and Amanda were wonderful hosts and we so looked forward to seeing what Malvin had whipped up each morning at breakfast. The rooms were spacious, cool and mosquito free, with beautiful bathrooms. The ability to get our laundry done was also very much appreciated. The location was perfect for doing as much or as little as we wanted, and the saltwater pool was ideal. Malvin and Amanda’s exploring and restaurant recommendations were also spot on. We can’t wait to return.

Siena House is one of the most beautiful places we’ve ever been. The property is set atop a small hill with idyllic Tuscan views in a serene, private location. This is a true boutique hotel experience, with all the personalized touches you would hope for. The accommodations are top|notch and extremely comfortable. Amanda and Malvin are superb hosts. Amanda dutifully cares for all the animals and the property, while cheerfully communicating with guests. Malvin creates spectacular homemade breakfasts and ambience. A special treat that was unexpected - I have celiac disease, and Malvin baked homemade gluten free bread and pastries in a seperate oven to avoid cross contamination! We spent our days visiting Amanda and Malvin’s many wonderful recommendations, then enjoyed a relaxing sunset by the pool. You cannot go wrong with Siena House. Book now!

We had a wonderful 3 days at Siena House. Malvin and Amanda are very gracious and charming hosts. Malvin made delicious breakfasts (homemade breads, yogurt, jams, bacon) and gave us the best recommendations for restaurants nearby. We had some excellent meals near the property that made the trip a highlight. The farmhouse itself has really lovely views of the Tuscan countryside and the rooms are very comfortable.

An Unforgettable Tuscan Dream at Siena House! From the moment we arrived at Siena House, we knew we'd found something special. Malvin and Amanda have created a truly magical retreat that exceeded all our expectations. The villa itself is beautifully decorated, spotlessly clean, and incredibly relaxing. Every window offers breathtaking views of the Tuscan landscape, making it a perfectly quiet escape. But what truly sets Siena House apart are Malvin and Amanda themselves. Malvin's culinary skills are simply phenomenal! We were spoiled daily with his homemade breakfast delights, from the most delicious muffins and jams to incredible pies, crispy bacon, and the freshest eggs imaginable. Amanda's wonderful hospitality made us feel right at home, and watching her interact with her farm animals was an absolute delight. Their adorable and friendly son also added to the charm, making our stay even more heartwarming. The location is perfect for exploring the region, with several vineyards just a stone's throw away. One of the absolute highlights of our trip was spending an evening at their outdoor kitchen. We felt like true Tuscans, not just tourists, cooking and enjoying the incredible atmosphere. It was literally the best night of our entire trip! And let's not forget the fantastic pool – perfect for a refreshing dip after a day of exploring. Siena House is more than just a villa; it's an experience. We left feeling rejuvenated, inspired, and already planning our return. Thank you, Malvin and Amanda, for creating such an extraordinary slice of Tuscan paradise! Scott & Raffaela Brugge Summer 2024

Our son and daughter in law stayed at Sienna House in 2018 during their honeymoon, and ever since, they haven’t stopped raving about their incredible experience with Amanda and Malvin. Their glowing recommendation set our expectations sky-high—and Sienna House exceeded every one of them. Sienna House has become our home away from home in Italy. Amanda and Malvin are truly world-class hosts, welcoming us with warmth and making us feel like part of their family. Their knowledge of Tuscany is unparalleled, offering a wealth of information and recommendations on everything from local eateries and vineyards to hidden hill towns and authentic Tuscan living. The villa itself is a masterpiece—a medieval gem beautifully restored with modern touches and amenities. Malvin’s famous breakfasts are a highlight, featuring freshly baked pastries and one of the best cappuccinos you’ll have in Italy. The property is an oasis of serenity, surrounded by the rolling hills and farmlands of Tuscany and home to charming wildlife, including swans, ducks, and chickens. Inside, Amanda’s stunning artwork adorns the walls, adding an elegant and personal touch to the space. Sienna House is an absolute treasure in the heart of Tuscany. Don’t miss the chance to experience this gem for yourself. We’re already looking forward to our next visit!

My wife and I took our first trip to Italy this summer with our three kids. We started in Venice and made our way down to Rome, with some special stops along the way. One incredible stop included the few days that Malvin, Amanda and the amazing Henry hosted us at Siena House. An amazing property just 15 or so minutes away from some of Tuscany's most wonderful towns. Our suite was immaculate, comfortable and more than enough room for the five of us. We were made to feel very much at home and Siena House was the perfect spot to recharge our batteries when we wanted to (with a wonderful pool) or to launch our most memorable day trips. Amanda and Malvin were gracious enough to recommend some wonderful sights to see and restaurants to visit. The breakfasts that Malvin made for us -- from homemade breads to custard tarts in English shortbread to home made jams and bacon -- were wonderful and we continue to crave for the brownie soufflé back in Canada. The option of having chicken, duck or goose eggs each morning was a real hit with our kids too. We have high expectations when it comes to our travel accommodations and Siena House exceeded every single one of them without exception. We can't wait to return to Italy but will never do so without returning to this very special place. We happily and wholeheartedly recommend Siena House, and the wonderful family that runs it, to anyone looking for a very special experience in a very special place. The Power Family Toronto, Canada

Our stay at Siena House was the main reason for our trip to Italy and it was incredible. We had high expectations for the stay and Malvin and Amanda greatly exceeded them. The property is comfortable, beautiful and convenient to so many great sites and restaurants. We enjoyed it so much, we extended our stay and stayed for 6 nights. We traveled with our 9 month old daughter who loved the animals around the property and especially Malvin’s fresh bread every morning. Siena House had everything you need for a baby - crib, high chairs, etc. Siena House is great for families - their son, Henry (9), kept us and kids of other families entertained with his wittiness and energy! Malvin’s fresh breakfast every morning was great - fresh jams, yogurt, eggs and all! We also really enjoyed the swimming pool. It was a great size with great view, and always very clean! By the time we left, we felt like part of the family. It was an incredible stay and I cannot say enough good things about it, and cannot wait to return one day!

Malvin and Amanda have created an oasis at the Siena House. The setting and landscape is stunning, but Amanda’s oil paintings stole our attention. Beautiful “airscapes” throughout the house. Malvin equally artistic with his homemade yogurt, fresh muffins, bottomless lattes, fresh eggs and home smoked bacon. Amazing stay, don’t miss out!

Yelp
Our stay at the Siena House in Tuscany was so perfect, it's almost difficult to describe. But I'll do my best... The Grounds The house itself is amazing. It's airy, extremely well decorated, peaceful, and a mix of modern and rustic. The surrounding yard, summer kitchen, garden, terrace, pool, and outdoor furniture is all so tasteful and inviting. The pictures on the website tell a good story, but it's obviously even better in person. The Owners From the very moment we showed up, Malvin & Amanda were so unbelievably welcoming and personable. We felt comfortable right away. All the 5 star reviews and great ratings on TripAdvisor are not a coincidence as we felt like we mattered so much every moment of our 3 night stay. From restaurant recommendations, to being greeted with a bottle of prosecco and even allowed to borrow their GPS for our entire stay, this was hand-holding at it's best. But they also made sure to give us a ton of space so we felt a sense of privacy the entire time. The Breakfasts! Each morning offered a new take on a delicious (and luxurious) breakfast with a very generous amount of food. The fresh, local and seasonal ingredients combined with Malvin's exceptional skills in the kitchen made these breakfasts a huge highlight of the stay. Quite possibly the 3 best breakfast's I've ever eaten in my life. And he took beverage requests and would whip up an espresso, cappuccino or tea to pair in a jiffy (often offering seconds) The Location The location was ideal. The house itself felt very tucked away in the country and was very peaceful. It was also just 5-10 minutes from the A1 freeway so that traveling by car on day trips to further away towns was convenient. Or you could take the country roads to some of the closer Tuscan villages. All in all, we went to around 7 towns in just 3 days and still felt like we spent a good amount of time at the house itself. The X Factor(s) Quite simply, the generous balance of feeling pampered in Tuscan luxury but also having very approachable hosts who made you feel like their home was yours. Plus, having only 4 guest suites in the property keeps things very quiet and allows them to keep offering the personal touches that make the stay so rewarding. Based on the way we were treated, the wonderful food and how beautiful the house and surroundings were, we would never choose any other place, should we go back to Tuscany in the future. 5 stars all the way!
