I had my wedding reception here at the Il Tetto Beer Gargen, it was amazing! They included food & beverage in their event rental cost, that was why we chose them. We had very minimal decor because the Ik Tetto is so pretty on its own! My only complaint is that we dealt with 3 different event vendors which was frustrating, our second one was supposed to be our main one and he ghosted us the week of the wedding, the third one pulled through to get it all done though. My guests loved the venue.

Google
Nice atmosphere and solid Italian food, I really liked the ambiance with the lights, holiday decorations, and lighting. The drinks were really fun, especially their seasonal ones! The pizza and pasta were also fairly good, you can definitely feed two per pizza, and the fig drizzle was delicious! It’s a very floppy pizza crust, which isn’t my preference, but it was a good thin style. The other flavor combinations also looked good, especially the hot honey. The only thing is that the food and drinks took forever to arrive, even when the restaurant was only half full. But, our server was very nice and took great care of us, so overall, would still recommend as a solid spot downtown!

It has been a few years since I was in this establishment, but nostalgia kicked in as soon as I got seated by the window. This is one of the few places in downtown that survived the pandemic and offers a rooftop bar. We were welcomed with a dazzling mimosa tasting that sparked joy and bubbles. The pumpkin waffle was absolutely amazing! Thank you for your hospitality.

Google
I was impressed by the speed in which our meal was served. We had less than an hour until an improv show and I got a chicken sandwich, which was pretty decent. Decor was lovely, I hope next time that the roof deck is open next time!

Google
SO GOOD! You can mix and match meatballs and sauces and have them in a sandwich, bowl, salad, by themselves, etc. they have 5 different meatballs and about 8 sauce flavors. I had the spicy pork meatball with Diablo sauce - delicious but hot 🔥, the veggie with mushroom gravy (good but not my favorite) and the “ball of the month” was a gyro style tzatziki sauce - amazing! My kids had just buttered spaghetti and green beans and loved both! My parents also had salads that they liked!

Alicia N.

Google
So yummy! My sister got the stuffed shells and I got the shrimp vodka pasta and we had the mozzarella sticks as an appetizer! The rooftop bar upstairs, il tetto, is beautiful and such a vibe on a summer afternoon!

Google
Great meatballs, very tasty. Somehow food came faster than cocktails, service can be improved. Indoor dining area is too hot, restroom temperature is way lower than the dining area, which doesn’t quite make sense.

Google
My mother is visiting from out of state and found this place while searching the map for Italian dinner spots. We came here on a whim and had one of the loveliest dinners we can remember as a mother/daughter duo. Our server, Jacob, was fantastic. He provided warm, friendly, charismatic service and was eager to answer all of our questions about the menu and plates. Not only was Jacob our server, but also the bartender and the cocktails were fab-u-us!! You can NOT go wrong with the charcuterie board which has rotating selections daily, the entrees are very fairly priced for quality and quantity. I ordered cannolis on a whim (there’s a whole family lore behind why I don’t eat cannolis) and you know what… I think after 30 years, I love cannolis again. To the entire staff- thank you for a fantastic evening! We loved it, and went home stuffed and happy.

Yelp
We were in the area for a sporting event, and decided to try out this place before the game. They offer a good selection of make your own pasta bowls, and other classic Italian cuisines. The open air section on the first floor can be lively at times. They also have a couple of upstairs dining area as well. Service was quick, and staff was friendly. However, the dishes that we've ordered seems just a bit under-flavored. The portions was good and plenty, but just seemed to miss the "Wow" factor. Overall, still an enjoyable dining experience.

Yelp
Came with some friends for brunch. We had reservations which was good because it was packed. Food took a while to come out but the staff was friendly and helped us navigate the drink ordering. Loved the fireworks when the drinks are delivered. Now for the bad. Food took a long time to come out. I ordered the quiche and the waitress brought me French toast instead. That was really disappointing but I didn't want to wait another 30 minutes for my meal so I accepted the French toast. It was pretty bad ; burnt on the edges and just smothered in jam. When I got my bill I expected some compensation for the wrong food, but they didn't even apologize again. Not impressed.

Yelp
It has been a few years since I was in this establishment, but nostalgia kicked in as soon as I got seated by the window. This is one of the few places in downtown that survived the pandemic and offers a rooftop bar. Very nice! There are 3 floors and different ambiences. We were welcomed with a dazzling mimosa tasting that sparked joy and bubbles. The pumpkin waffle was absolutely amazing! Thank you for your hospitality.

Yelp
Great food, service and cocktails. Fun 3 level venue with a different concept on each floor

Yelp
I was able to attend an event with a friend. Mamossa tower and pumpkin spice waffle. Food was yummy drinks were delicious and wait staff seemed a little overwhelmed but she was very nice. Just a relaxing Sunday afternoon with my husband and friend

Yelp
Hot honey pizza, salmon, and chicken marsala were delicious and nicely presented. We enjoyed our wine flights, and the service was terrific. Looking forward to trying the rooftop bar next summer!

Yelp
They have a great happy hour deal here! The peach cider was delicious and the bartenders were very nice. I love going to the rooftop on a sunny and warm day as you get some great views of the city while enjoying a drink! The rooftop is decorated very well!! I didn't try the appetizers for their happy hour but the deals are great and the options look appetizing. Will try to come back and get some food off the menu as well!

Cassandra M.

Yelp
For a meatball place, it was honestly the worst I've ever had. As soon as I stabbed it with my fork, I knew I was in trouble. So hard, dry, flavorless, despite all the sauce. Mozzarella sticks are definitely frozen from Sysco. We also came for the rooftop bar and checked Instagram and their events calendar daily. When we showed up, it was closed for a private event, which meant different drinks and food menu. Still no event listed on their events calendar. I cannot believe they brand theirselves as a "meatball joint". I'd believe more if it was a front for a drug operation because it was sooo nasty. Will never return. Two bright spots- server was nice and the espresso martini was good. But not worth it to return. We left before ordering entrees-- we had enough fun.

Yelp
Love their rooftop bar for a night out. Pizza is great but I did not like their appetizers much. Service was great!

Yelp
This is such a fun concept of a restaurant located in Pittsburgh's Cultural District. It is a three-story building and each floor is a different menu. 1st Floor - Emporio: A Meatball Joint 2nd Floor - Mezzo 3rd Floor - Il Tetto Rooftop Beer Garden We picked to eat at Emporio, which is located on the first floor. I got the Loaded Baked Potato Bowl which was SO good. I will be dreaming about this meal for a while. It included so many of my favorite things. The base was white cheddar mashed potatoes and it was topped with tator tots, cheese, bacon, scallions, and two classic beef meatballs. They had a few bowls that they have already built, like the one I ordered, or you can build your own bowl. They have so many great ingredients and toppings to choose from. This is such a fun and unique location and I can't wait to check out one of the other floors on our next trip to Pittsburgh!
google avatar

Danielle M.

Yelp
Cute spot! Love the concept of multiple levels with different options. I only gave it 4 stars because I haven't actually had a full meal here, only drinks and apps, but would definitely return. Love the rooftop!

Robert S.

Yelp
On the positive side our server was polite. As for the negatives: I ordered shrimp scampi. What I got was shrimp and pasta soaked in lemon juice. Had I not been hungry and in dread of a prolonged wait like I had for the plate to arrive I would have sent it back. The desert took more than 30 minutes to arrive. I'd ask for a cup of coffee with my desert. My server brought a cup of lukewarm coffee. She did bring a fresh cup when asked. However, by the time desert arrived the coffee was mostly drank and lukewarm. The atmosphere was rather basic. It certainly didn't support the prolonged wait for food to arrive. The party seated next to us arrived 15 minutes behind us yet they were seemingly served before us. And yes we made reservations. So for me a return visit is a hard NO.

Chloe E.

Yelp
I rarely leave negative reviews, but the service here was genuinely disappointing. We waited over 30 minutes at the bar and were never served--not even acknowledged. Several staff members walked past us without making eye contact or offering help. We eventually left and took our business elsewhere. Really unfortunate, because the atmosphere looked promising, but the customer service was a major letdown.

Yelp
Held an event here - spending thousands of dollars - we were told there would be a bartender for our section and there was not one all night - brought it up to the manager and she said she would get someone out and never did. Emailed Jonathan after the fact and he blamed us in a curt email. We also ordered food and it was not placed on heating trays or lamps? so food got cold. would not host a party here
google avatar

Fahmy M.

Yelp
On 2 different occasions now, called to check if they were planning to hold trivia on the scheduled night. In both cases we were told that yes, it's on. So 6 of us planned our evening around it. With No notice, they cancelled it on the day (the second time, we learned about it when the first couple got there). No thought is given to customers (also didn't post about it since we actually checked social media).

Yelp
A complete YNIZ-PLOSION!  Il Tetto Rooftop Beer Garden on the Third Floor of Sienna Mercato is such an awesome, unique space right in downtown Pittsburgh.  Just revamped to "Iron In The Sky" a Pittsburgh pop up experience featuring Pittsburgh Brewing Company.   Starting today, 8/16 and only running for a short period of time!  Pittsburgh Brewing Company is doing a complete Tap Takeover- showcasing 5 of their beers on tap, with IC Light Mango Mimosas, a Pittsburgh inspired food menu featuring pierogies and Isaly's Chipped Ham sliders!  Can it get more Pittsburgh than that?  Local artists will be playing live on certain nights, and they are having tons of giveaway contests!  Great atmosphere, black and gold everywhere and cold beer!  Yinz are going to LOVE it!

Yelp
Went with some friends on a weekday night so it was pretty empty. I got a pasta to which I cannot remember the name of it but it had chicken on it, and unfortunately it was very bland. The drinks were good though. However, I probably wouldn't come back.

Yelp
For food alone I'd give 4 stars but the staff and service brought our experience down. We stopped in for lunch with 4 adults and 2 kids. We had planned to go up to the rooftop and made our way to the elevator. A bartender yelled over to us, "where are you going" to which we replied upstairs, and she just said, "good luck with that" and laughed. We had no idea that the rooftop was 21+ and instead of her telling us, she made rude comments and left us to keep walking toward the elevator until another staff member let us know. Once we were seated on the main level, it took awhile for anyone to wait on us, and they never brought over a high hair even after asking a couple times. Our server seemed a bit out of it, messing up our orders as well as never checking in on us. We had the meatball sampler which was really good, but we won't be back anytime soon after this experience.

Jerome L.

Yelp
This place was terrible. The manager was awful. Had a welcome party here and the bar tender for the private area didn't even show up. Will never show up here again. Meatballs were stale and cold. Never book this place.
google avatar

Yelp
Excellent food and great ambience. Highly recommend to get your reservations done beforehand! We went there over a weekend and they were visibly busy -- perhaps the service could have been better. But the food was excellent!
google avatar

Leon K.

Yelp
We stopped by because it seemed to have a nice atmosphere. We were seated and no one came to our table. I asked one of the waitresses that was serving one of the tables near us, she replied I'll ask. In the meantime I will get you some waters. Well, she brought her tables waters but never brought water to us. We waited for 30-40 minuteswithout service, so we just got up and left.

Michael R.

Yelp
Terrible service by management and the event staff after spending almost $5k there. Extremely unprofessional and no care or responses. Would never recommend hosting an event or even supporting this place. I have only heard terrible experiences from others. It's been over a month and the management has ignored me. Clearly will say whatever you want to get your money but then not follow through on their end.

Yelp
Il Tetto (the rooftop bar of this restaurant) is such a cool spot! The ambiance is really the star of the show with twinkly lights & a full glass rooftop cover so you can see outside even when it's cold. You can almost always snag some bar seats - especially if you come a little on the later side after the immediate after-work rush. For drinks, I had an espresso martini (yum!) & a glass of bubbly. They don't have a huge menu, but what I tried was good! Service was a little lacking, however, as it was hard to get the bartenders' attention even when we were seated at the bar. I would definitely go back, though! Food: N/A Drinks: B+ Service: B- Ambiance: B+

Christopher J.

Yelp
We were seated in the back at the high tables and sat there for 20 minutes and no one seemed to be assigned to the table. We didn't feel like we should have to ask if anyone was assigned to the table. Then a group was seated near us and a waiter went right to them. So we just left. If our comfort and our needs as patrons doesn't matter to this establishment, we will leave.

Yelp
Incredible service and food! My friend and I came here for dinner and drinks before a night out, we had Daisy as our waitress and she was wonderful. She was able to answer all our questions about the food and drinks, checked on us consistently, had speedy service, and was very pleasant to speak with. We will absolutely be coming back again because of her. And not to mention the pizza and pasta with vodka sauce was delicious! Daisy, if you're reading this, thank you again for starting our night off with such a wonderful experience!

Yelp
A nice place with outdoor seating and attentive staff. Drinks were well priced and enjoyable. Went with a group of 8 and got seating right away with no reservations necessary. I personally got the chicken meatballs and they were fine, but nothing amazing. So I would not get the chicken balls again. However, my friends got the beef balls and really enjoyed them! Very large portions and a lot of make your own options. Some of my friends had bowls, some had hoagies, some had paninis, and they all had good things to say! A fun place to try with nice staff, the meatball theme is super fun!
google avatar

Remy F.

Yelp
Never eaten here but has multiple food spots on different floors that I should try! With that said cool rooftop bar that's enclosed so can visit in any weather. Great vibes Bar can get busy so service is solid but may have to be aggressive to get a drink during busy hours.
google avatar

Brittney A.

Yelp
What an interesting restaurant concept. I can honestly say I've never seen a "balls" themed restaurant lol From beef meatballs to chicken garlic balls to vegetarian balls to falafel - there's a ball for everyone. Liked the look & feel of the place, exposed red brick and cool artwork. Very friendly service and food came out quickly. Bar looked like a busy, fun area. I had the falafel wrap with no slaw - MMMMM. Tzatziki on point. French fries were decent and their homemade ranch was fire. My hubby had the beef meatball sub, he gave it a high (3.8/5) - good flavor but a little dry. Crack sauce on top was helpful. Bloody Mary mix was basic. The Mac & Cheese looked like "school cafeteria macaroni" but was surprisingly delicious. Not sure if we'd dine here again since there's so many places to try in Pittsburgh, but good meal!

Yelp
After having an amazing evening in Pittsburgh, accompanied by the best "salt of the earth" Pittsburghians...we unfortunately ended are night at 8:45pm on a Saturday night here. It's across from our hotel and we hear an amazing Spanish guitarist near the front of the walkway. It looked so chill and just might be a great place for a night cap. So we came in and sat at the bar. The bartenders...maybe just shy of 21. I regrettably asked for an espresso martini with baileys. My mom ordered the only Chardonnay...Kendall Jackson at $14 My martini ended up being $16 because of the extra "shot" of Baileys. I only needed a splash of Baileys. The girl who made my drink for 5 minutes (mind you, we were the only patrons at the time) handed it to me with attitude, like I had the audacity for her making a drink that's on the menu. I understand why everyone else are at the other places near you and not here. HIRE capable staff that are mature and not on their phones. No one working there was over 24 years old. I do not see this place lasting more than a year. Send #barrescue

Yelp
I used to come here regularly after work and was excited to stop by for dinner. The server knew absolutely nothing about the menu. I asked her if they had Chianti (they did out of their maybe 4 reds available), and she immediately just said she didn't know and didn't offer us a wine list to look at which had it listed directly on it. Later, I had asked her about the pomegranate sangria and she just shrugged her shoulders at us saying she didn't know how it was. As someone who has been a server in the industry for over five years these moments made me cringe on how she was treating our table. A few folks at our table got soup/salads to start and noted them as starters and she brought everything out all together, causing there to be no room on the table. I asked her another question in regards to my entrée where you can customize the bowls if I could get a certain bowl with a different sauce and she said no. Didn't make sense to me because you were able to customize your own bowl to your liking right on the menu and I asked her if she could go back and ask if they could do it (there was a create your own bowl option... this is definitely do-able) and she just said no. Again as a server, this internally made my eyes roll. I used to love sienna mercato so much but the staff made the ambiance fall off. Would love to try it again for a better experience and give a better review in the future.

Yelp
The gnocchi were such as disappointment. I was looking forward to my food after being told they were handmade, but they were so bad, I wasn't able to finish half of the plate. They were small and super dense, with a distinct doughy taste, it's almost like they hadn't been cooked enough. I don't know about the rest of the food there, but avoid the gnocchi. The service was incredibly slow as well. It took at least 5 minutes for a waiter to get our drink order, another 10 to get the drink, and the food didn't arrive for what felt like half an hour or more. I don't recommend this place.
google avatar

Ashley M.

Yelp
We popped in after spending some time upstairs at the rooftop bar and boy those meatballs did not disappoint! The bartender seemed overwhelmed, so we told her to surprise us and we ended up with the spicy pork meatballs covered in cream sauce on a bed of tortellini. Holy. Crap. It might have been the endless flow of alcohol, but I could have eaten 4 more orders. I would return in a heartbeat to try some other meatball/sauce combos!
google avatar

Humphrey F.

Yelp
Based on my experience, the beef meatballs with marinara sauce (5 stars) are far much better than the chicken balls (3 stars). The parmesan pasta is acceptable with decent price (4 stars), the hoagie bun is crunchy but a little dry and bland, the cheese is unperceivable (3 stars). However, the service is warm and quick and the food is well presented (5 stars).
google avatar

Jenny L.

Yelp
Delicious meatballs of all types, beef, chicken, lamb, cod. You basically pick a type of meal (sandwich, panini, meatballs alone, etc), sauce, and a side. The sides are an extra cost. The food was good, big portions. The meatballs were a little dry so I requested sauce on the side. The environment is very hip and trendy with an industrial feel: high ceilings, wood walls, iron chairs and railings. The second and third floors have pizza and a rooftop bar. The service was a little slow since they were busy on a Tuesday night. The meatballs are very filling so I only ate 1.5 out of my 4. (In addition to fries, cheese bread, and broccoli) Took the leftovers to go and they tasted great the next day microwaved for a minute.

Yelp
When in Pittsburgh . . . plan to have a meal at Sienna Mercato. A cool place if you're looking for good drinks and a bite to eat! This restaurant has three separate levels and each level has its own vibe - Emporio (snacky food), Mezzo (where we ate - small plates, pizzas, & entrees), and Il Tetto (cocktails). Whether you're looking for a cozy atmosphere or energetic ambiance, Sienna Mercato is a neat place to check out! What we ordered: -Burrata -Genovese -Polpette -Lavender Haze -Quattro Formaggi

Chrystelle H.

Yelp
I have not had such a disappointing experience. Our server Sarah M. was rude, unpersonable, and ignorant. She continously walked past our table without checking on us, our appetizer (burrata) came out ice cold, my husband got his drink right away and mine took 20 minutes, our food was mediocre, and the staff looked miserable. Sarah walked past our table 7 times and would only acknowledge one table at a time and pass all other tables. Not once did management make an appearance but my drink and app was comped. Honestly, we would have recieved better service at a bar.

Anthony D.

Yelp
Food and service was terrible. The food was dry to the point where people were spitting it out and choking on it. Never going there again and as an Italian, this place is a disgrace to our culture which is known for the best food in the world. The place needs HELP.

meghan p.

Yelp
Kali the waitress was INCREDIBLE. Ben, the manager???? Creepy asf. He was drinking on the job and made our girl group uncomfortable. Experience was great other than that guy???

Antoinette O.

Yelp
We hosted a large event (rehearsal dinner for 70 people) and we were greatly disappointed. Service was slow, air conditioner was broken, food was cold and not good at all ~ very disappointed because it was not what we were promised. I do NOT recommend Sienna Mercato for large sit down events; they are unable to handle it and your guests will be disappointed by the food. We spend an extremely large amount of money and did not get what we paid for; it was not worth it. I tried to reach out to the event planner and I have not received a call back ~ again very disappointed!

Yelp
Wanted to try something new for Mother's Day. This was a great location. I love the food but I did not love the stairs. My mom is active, but I thought the elevator was used for all 3 levels of the business. We had Bolognese and Purple Haze. Great service and a lovely ambiance. We had to walk downstairs to catch the elevator up to the rooftop bar, which I didn't like. The bar has a different drink menu so we had to change what we were drinking. We enjoyed them but it would have been ideal to keep the same cocktail. Not sure I'll return to Sienna Mercato. I'd rather eat at the first-floor restaurant and take the elevator to the rooftop bar for simplicity.

Bianca S.

Yelp
This place is never open for some reason but it always says it's open online :( the workers are nice tho

Rudy M.

Yelp
We're in town for a concert and from a small town. Wanted to try something different and this fit the bill. The inside looks rustic more like a BBQ place but that doesn't have anything to do with the food. The pasta was mediocre while the meatballs were delicious and reasonably priced. I wouldn't say this place wowed me but I would definitely go back.

Jim H.

Yelp
Went back a second time, and along with the wedge salad, tried the pesto pasta. It was amazing! Thoroughly slathered with pesto, which was delicious!

Laya M.

Yelp
We had an organizational happy hour there. The bartender on floor one, who is also the manager was was extremely rude to us. I even tried to have calm conversation with the bartender/manager about the experience our group was having and she was argumentative right away. We brought at least 15+ people in to spend our money and we were met with consistent disrespect with no remorse from the bartender. It was overall disappointing. Highly do not recommend.

Yelp
I used to love this place. Been coming here over the years since 2015. We went the other night to introduce our friend from the west coast to this location. Well it's changed in a couple of ways, I asked to go to the roof top and order food and the hostess suggested to eat here then go there. That's not what I was interested in doing, but ate downstairs as she had insisted. The other thing is the sandwich process changed and it's not a good process. Before you chose your ball, how many balls, what type of bread you wanted and the cheese. It was an entire process but a great process. Now you choose how many balls, beef, chicken or vegan, and that's it. You can't choose anything else. Then on top of it, they put it on toast. It's not the same experience. I probably do not see me coming back here again. Quite the turn off. The service was pleasant, just the food isn't that great any longer. Fried pickles were good, but also less amount of volume that they provide you compared to in the past.

Yelp
Have been wanting to come by here for a while now and finally made it happen on Friday! It was a little busy so my friends and I put our name down at Emporio and then headed up to the rooftop bar for some drinks and apps. The rooftop was so pretty with the lights and ambience and I'm sure it's even prettier in the summer when outdoor seating is available too! We got the seasonal margarita and a cranberry rosemary mule and I loved the mule so much I had to get another. The flavors were subtle but they worked so well together! We also got a Buffalo chicken dip as an app, but unfortunately by the time we got the food, our table down at Emporio was ready. The rooftop was great but the only downside was that we couldn't take the food downstairs (we could take the drinks though) so we ended up getting a takeout box and made it work that way. Down at Emporio, I ordered a chicken meatball slider and a side of Brussel sprouts and both were good! The meatballs are dense, but really flavorful. The brussel sprouts were good, but I thought could use some salt or just seasoning in general. At the end, we ordered doughnuts with melted chocolate and cream cheese and these were the best part. The donuts were fresh and soft and, with the chocolate and cream cheese, were such a great end to the meal. Our servers on both floors were also incredibly helpful and great. Overall, really enjoyed coming here and would definitely come back!

Yelp
Rented the top floor for a baby shower ... the communication with the coordinator (Jonathan) was fast and thorough and he was a dream to work with. I've planned many events through work and never had someone so easy and accommodating to plan an event with. Am SO glad we picked this venue ... food was excellent and the rest of the staff couldn't have been more accommodating.

Yelp
We went to the rooftop bar portion of this place and had a great time! It's a pretty big space with a big bar so even though there was a good amount of people there, we didn't have to wait long for a drink. We went in the winter on a day when it was snowing and it was a cool spot to see the snow/the city from the rooftop. The crowd was mid twenties to thirties ish and good music was playing. We didn't try the food since we were on the rooftop, but on the 1st and 2nd floor there was food. Apparently they have very good meatballs. Looking forward to coming back here in the summer when the rooftop is open!
