A Guide to Guadalajara, Jalisco's Beating Heart | Condé Nast Traveler

"Afternoons here are depicted as ideal for sipping Bloody Marys and shots of craft tequila such as Don Fulano Fuerte or Caballito Cerrero Chato Blanco alongside fresh seafood. Recommended orders include chilled oysters garnished with callo de perla (pen shell clam) and chile serrano rings, more than a dozen enticing tostadas like a spicy aguachile chiltepín paired with local craft beer, and even a torta ahogada de camarón, underscoring its blend of seafood and classic Guadalajara flavors in a relaxed daytime setting." - Bill Esparza

One of the best seafoods I’ve ever had! Make sure to come and put your name down first because the line can get quite long (1hr+ for us on a Sunday afternoon). Everything we ordered was delicious. Some of my favorites are: aguachile de camarones, almaja reina, ostiones con callo. The desserts are surprisingly amazing too! Don’t forget to try the plátano w/ ice cream made of tortilla ash

atun maya was the best thing we had but everything was delicious. absolutely worth the wait if get a line, we came early (before it opened) and waited 20min but it got crowded really fast. had the corn bread and it was also delicious. coconut drink was absolutely refreshing.

This place is an absolute disaster. The seafood tastes spoiled — as if it’s been sitting out in the sun waiting for revenge. The quality is so bad it’s honestly a health hazard. The service? Even worse. The staff yell at you, treat you like you’re bothering them just by existing, and make the whole experience feel hostile and uncomfortable. This restaurant should be shut down. Not out of spite, but for public safety. Eating here feels like playing Russian roulette with food poisoning.

Mariscos de 7 y Medio is an absolute disaster. The seafood tastes spoiled, like it’s been sitting out for days. The waiters are rude, careless, and act like serving you is a burden. The place feels unsafe, poorly maintained, and downright unpleasant. I wouldn’t recommend it under any circumstances. If you value your health and your money, stay far away from this place.

Fantastic seafood restaurant with several options on and off menu, plus excellent service. This place is a bit off the regular path but well worth the trip. Everything, including the few recommendations we received, were excellent. Very fresh and quality products. Will definitely visit again.
