Sift - Review - North Nashville - Nashville - The Infatuation

"Both the owner and the director of the bakery at Dose are behind this North Nashville project. The bright and cheery space is loaded with pastries like lemon meringue tarts, oatmeal creme sandwiches, tiramisu brownies, and eclairs sprinkled with gold flakes. There are plenty of tables for remote working opportunities along with coffee drinks from, who else, Dose." - Jackie Gutierrez-Jones

Super cute bakery. I got the matcha latte and cold brew. The matcha was delicious whatever whip cream they use was very good not too sweet. The cold brew was strong. The confetti cake was ok not to sweet nothing special. The chocolate chip cookie was really good taste homemade. Definitely going back.

This is a new bakery on Buchanan, on the west side of Rosa Parks Blvd. It has a super cute butter mural on the side of the building. The space is really huge - lots of tables for those who want to come and sit or work out of there. It was not busy at all when I stopped by, and only 1 person was sitting inside. All of the coffee is produced by Dose, which is a more bitter coffee than I prefer. I got the sipping chocolate drink which was really good but really rich. The roasted marshmallow in it was HUGE. I also tried the chocolate raspberry cake and that was also very tasty. Most of their other items were vegan or not up my alley. The don’t have many traditional baked goods; its more like gourmet pastries. I honestly wished they had standard croissants or bread to purchase.

New bakery that I just tried out in North Nashville. Super clean, really friendly, not too many options but just enough to keep you excited. The coffee was good where the location was was easy to pull in walk in and leave out. It is on the side of a building. I definitely recommend giving this place a child because I will be going back to try other things.

Sift. is a welcomed addition to the Buena Vista neighborhood, especially for me who has lived in the neighborhood for over 8 years. The bakery is decorated nicely and open. The pastries and baked goods have been great thus far. My favorites have been the tiramisu brownie and coffee cakes. I appreciate Sift. not having the “usual” bakery choices like croissants. 5/5 stars for me as a true local.

Here comes the bad guy. This places has been so hyped up over the past few weeks since they opened it seemed like a must visit. I saw them post something on ig and less than 2 hrs after opening, 5 mins after posting, I pull into the parking lot after making the drive from Atlanta. There’s 2 people getting coffee otherwise the store is completely empty of customers. Everything is full but the one item they posted magically has completely sold out. There’s no line, there’s no excess of customers buying pastries, nothing. The 2 people who were there didn’t even have pastries. They had coffees to go. So I’m a little conflicted to believe they had a massive rush in that tiny window that sold out all of the apple “tarts” but again every other pastry item was still full and plentiful. Ample chocolate items which I don’t eat chocolate, and over the laminated pastries trend. Anyway I feel like it was poor preparation or none at all and saying “we just sold out” sounded better than saying we didn’t make any. Or we made 2 for the day. While I understand you can’t make items on the fly if you know that’s a hot item and you sell out in under two hours and nothing else moves why wouldn’t you out emphasis on making that item and not so much time making excess of items that clearly don’t sell.

Must try the tiramisu brownie and the eclair with gold flake! Vegan and gluten free treats are amazing too! Take some to go because the packaging you carry it home in is adorable.

Tried the hazelnut cheesecake, corn cookie, pistachio eclair, and a loaf of the brioche bread. Each item was a 5/5. Can’t wait to try the other pastries! Welcome to the neighborhood Sift, we’re so happy to have you.

Yelp
Stopped by Sift for a little sweet treat, a Saturday girly must-do, lol. The space is stunning and bright inside, the kind of spot where you can sit and catch up with friends or open your laptop and get some work done. On the bakery side, they've got pretty much anything you'd crave: cookies, bagels, tarts, and even tiramisu brownies. The staff was super friendly and explained the menu without any pressure, which I really appreciated. On the coffee side, they don't serve espresso-based drinks (a bit of a letdown) but they do offer cold brew with lots of delicious foam options, so there's still something fun to sip on. Overall, it's a perfect place for a cute outing. And it wouldn't feel right not to point out that the baker is helping bring new life to a part of town that's often overlooked. Sift sits right among community favorites like Slim & Husky's and Tío Fun, plus The Loading Dock, a new coffee shop nearby if lattes are more your thing.

Yelp
3 words- Iced Tiramisu Barcelona!!! Easily a top 3 coffee of all time for me. Been waiting months for Sift to open and was so excited to finally try it. The coffee selections are creative and fun and exactly what I expect from the Dose team. Pastries are more gourmet and restaurant level as opposed to typical coffee shop pastries. Great for catering/takeout for hosting. If you're looking for a "basic" muffin/loaf this is not the place for you. Savory recommendation- Ham and gouda roll. Sweet recommendation- Any of the cake squares. I love the creativity and attention to detail the team put into pastry design. I do wish there were more savory offerings. Free parking and it's a large space so we had no trouble finding a table to sit and chat.
