Sightglass has been on my radar since the day I found this location and its interior design on Instagram. While the light fixtures, seating, to wall designs were super heart eyes, part of me feels like the high costs for the drinks and pastries are due to these gimmicks. I came around the afternoon, a few hours before they closed, and waited in line to order an extra hot oat milk latte with a pistachio croissant. I was taken aback when they told me they didn't have a toaster to heat up the pastry, make it make sense to pay a total of $11.96 for a $5.50 drink and $6 croissant.
Thankfully, I was able to get a seat and enjoy my purchases, but as people trickled in, I realized how silly this whole scenario was-every person who walked by me took a few minutes to snap a photo of the baristas with the shelf fixture behind of them. The oat milk latte was a let down because the barista didn't fill it to the brim as what other cafes I'm used to do-not too sure why they left room since the condiments table only had paper cups, napkins, straws, and lids for grabs. I'm a fan of pistachios so the croissant was so good, however because I got the second to last one, I feel like this was a leftover from the previous day. Usually people feel joy or content upon finishing a yummy pastry, however I felt queasy and have a stomach ache still. I believe they source the pistachio croissants from Neighbor Bakehouse, so I'd rather purchase directly from them instead.
Come for the aesthetic and photo opportunities to flex on your social media accounts, however be wary of the quality of their offerings and the nonexistent WiFi.
