The Most Effective Way to Organize Your Suitcase Using Packing Cubes

"As sweat started to bead on my forehead as I sat on top of my trusty Away suitcase in my room at the Signia San Jose, once again needing some elbow grease to zip it shut, I realized organizational value might outweigh an extra few ounces."

Our room was fine but there were little things that indicate the Hotel is no longer as nice as it once was. There was only one pair of slippers though they had two robes. They never made up our room even though we asked them a number of times. Lights for elevators were not working and one of the elevators broke down and was not functional and somewhat dangerous as it was not level with the floor. The Valet was great and prompt. The staff was pleasant, but when it was a Fairmont it was a much nicer experience.

Angela at the night time front desk was exceptional. We arrived at 3am after a super long travel and she was hospitable, welcoming and made our check in process so seem less even though it was the middle of the night. When we arrived and saw valet was off duty and there was nobody to help with our luggage we got nervous about the check in process but she handled it with ease and we were in our room within minutes. Thank you Angela. You deserve a huge shoutout for being so good with your costumers and as a Gold Hilton member-I can honestly say you are one of the best I’ve come across. The room is spacious and clean.

The best thing going for this hotel is its marketing team. Pictures promoting this place are extremely deceiving (as is the hotel lobby), because the rooms are a completely different story. Inside the furniture is falling apart, the carpets stained, and doesn’t feel clean. We had to report the television not working our first night only to discover that they have issues with their cable connection and television channels making it janky at best. The real draw to this place is the pool, as most hotels downtown don’t have one. Overall it was fine. They maintain the pool area and there are plenty towels. It would be great if they moved one of the many fire pits they reserve for the rooms with patios to the pool area and/or added a hot tub. The staff is not seen around and usually absent from the desk. While absolutely NOT a 5 star hotel - that was kind of a given with the price range. Not sure I’ll be returning but hope they consider an upgrade to their guests experience.

Friendly service. Large gym with separate yoga/floor area. Sauna was nice but steam room wasn’t working. Nice relaxing pool. Rooms were a good size. Parking $50 per night with valet service. Restaurant and bar on site were decent. It is in a very walkable area.

Very nice hotel, a couple issues that seem to be pretty common for hotels. Our shower drained extremely slow, didn't enjoy showering with a puddle growing, and it seemed like only 2 elevators worked. Mid day on the weekends took a bit to get one. Other than that, beds were comfortable and rooms are otherwise nice. Pool area is nice and lots of loungers, pool is heated and very comfortable, bathrooms at the pool did not have working lights. Great area, would book here again!

I’ve traveled to over 70 countries and stayed in hundreds of 4–5 star hotels. I took a chance on Signia by Hilton San Jose since downtown options were limited — but I wouldn’t stay here again. It’s not terrible, but it falls well short of what should be a flagship Hilton property. Pros: The lobby is beautiful, though the rugs and floors were often dirty. My suite was large, and the bathroom remodel looked modern, though impractical — the floors were dangerously slippery, and only one bath mat was provided (oddly by the tub, not the shower). The gym is huge and well-equipped, and the locker room includes a sauna, but the steam room has been out of service for months (see other reviews) and cleanliness is poor. Breakfast was good, and the hostess was kind. Cons: Housekeeping is inconsistent — my room wasn’t serviced one day, and when I asked, I was told only two attendants were working for the whole hotel. Cleanliness overall is lacking: hallways never vacuumed, gym floors dirty, stains on the couch, and even a long hair on my bathrobe. Room quality feels unfinished: cheap paint jobs, loose carpeting at the trim, and sparse furnishings - like they could not afford to fully furnish the suite so it felt like a run down cheap motel room. The furniture was old and stained / scratched - felt dirty even if it was clean. The patterns and lighting gave me actual vertigo while in the room. Service feels indifferent — check-in was cold, and a staff member eyed me suspiciously afterward as if I didn’t belong there. Bar looks great but service varies — one bartender was friendly, another acted pretentious. Maintenance issues everywhere: crooked elevator buttons, smudged mirrors, cloudy water from the Nespresso machine. Overall: This property feels like a 2–3 star hotel wearing a 4-star badge. Corners were clearly cut in both renovation and staffing. The building has potential, but service, maintenance, and design quality all need serious attention. Next time, I’ll stay at a proper 5-star — even if that means renting a car to get downtown.

First the stay was amazing the hospitality, the ambiance, the rooms, was close to the best I’ve ever had in a hotel. I really really just wish one thing that there would be streaming or some type of cast to the TV’s just to make the stay a little more welcoming rather than being forced to watch what ever is on and dealing with weird advertisements. Besides that I have to say thank you to Angela and Su you both have been the most accommodating people I’ve ever had the pleasure of dealing with especially at a hotel where everyone is busy and trying to get by with their day. You guys made this entire stay feel incredible. If I had the option of having you two again to book my stay I would 100% be more inclined to stay here for small leaves. Thank you again! (If my name doesn’t pop up I really hope you two know who I am while writing this)

Google
This is a very IMPRESSIVE hotel - it is very, very impressed with itself. The actual substance, not nearly so much. Believe the critical reviews here, not the "thoughtfully decorated" paid rubbish. AI phone operator: useless & wrong info. Shower: only 1 (quite hot) temperature available. Signage within the building: badly lacking. Room service: not necessarily available (though the AI is oblivious to the limitations & schedule). Restaurant prices: absurd, even for California. Housekeeping: no idea when guests are checking out, even when the info is at the front desk. Outside noise: quite a lot. This place is a mess, and I wouldn't want to stay here any time I have a choice. Even though THEY seem quite impressed with their fancy enterprise.

Yelp
We stayed here this past weekend and really enjoyed our stay. It was my Mom's birthday and we decided to go to Christmas in the Park and stay at the Signia to make a weekend of it. We had so much fun at the event and loved staying at the Signia. The reason why I docked off a star was the air conditioning didnt work in our room and we had to have maintenance come in to fix it. We also had some challenges with the shower but everything else was perfect. My parents loved it here and so did my kids. It was a perfect place to stay so we could enjoy all the Holiday activities. I would definitely stay here again. It's so convenient to so many places in the Downtown area and San Jose.

Yelp
i seldom leave negative reviews, but oh my. what a mess. we reserved a king bed with a pool view for a night. we checked in, made it to our room, and it's 2 queens with a view of the street. since we were so tired from our trip & were only staying the night, we let it go / & didn't feel the need to call down / ask to switch to the actual room we reserved (even at $575- thankfully we paid partially with points, otherwise I'd be pretty annoyed). the wrong room turned out to be inconsequential compared to the rest of our stay. upon arrival, both the toilet (when flushed) & the shower (not even used yet)were leaking. there was hair all over the shower floor (not ours), mold in every corner, and unidentifiable stains on the doors & walls.. it truly feels criminal to charge $575- especially on a random monday in february- for a room like this. the room was relatively quiet but the pillows felt like concrete- neither of us slept well. slow wifi (keep in mind if you need to do work while you're here). i'd recommend avoiding this place like the plague, but if you for some reason decide to stay, make sure to bring your shower shoes. it wouldn't be fair to say there weren't a handful of pros: lobby and bar area were beautiful & ubers were always just a minute or 2 away. additionally, it's a quick 10? minutes from the airport (i do not believe they offer shuttles). these were about the only upsides.

Yelp
Came here for a corporate banquet and found the food, place, and service to be excellent. The banquet started with a cocktail party in the lobby, with snacks including cheese, dried/sweet fruits and nuts, hors d'oeuvres (sliced pork over bread), spring rolls (both Chinese and Vietnamese), fried shrimp, with quantity and variety enough to serve as a light dinner. The cocktail party was followed by a sit-down 3-course dinner (salad, entries with vegetarian/pescetarian (salmon with pine nuts, green beans, baby carrot, yellow curry rice)/meat options, desserts consisting of creme brulee and chocolate mouse cake) in the ballroom. The service was friendly and efficient (given the party size), and the overall place has a historical vibe.

Yelp
The hotel was decorated beautifully and the staff was friendly. I do wish the hotel bar had more variety of food. However, this is a good location.

Yelp
Very nice hotel. It's n a great spot too, right in downtown. Walkable to a lot of food options. This hotel is beautiful, very esthetic. It's clean and the beds are comfortable.

Yelp
I recently stayed at the Signia by Hilton in San Jose and unfortunately had a very disturbing experience that I feel compelled to share. A group of my friends and I felt extremely uncomfortable and unsafe due to the behavior of several security guards who followed us around in a very inappropriate and unnerving way. Their actions were not only unprofessional but also borderline perverted, which led to several of us feeling very freaked out and on edge. It's deeply concerning that such behavior was allowed to happen at a reputable hotel. We expected a safe and comfortable environment, but this experience left us feeling the exact opposite. I hope the management takes this issue seriously and addresses it promptly to ensure this doesn't happen to anyone else. I will not be returning to this hotel, and I strongly advise other guests to think twice about their stay here.

Yelp
I attended an event here hosted by a local organization. It was a champagne brunch in the ballroom. So this is a review for the catering and ballroom experience. The location of the hotel is in downtown San Jose. There is ample parking lots around, prices for parking range from six dollars to $12 on a Sunday. The hotel experience for the event was lovely. The room was set up very nicely. There was a VIP reception in one of the side rooms which was nicely decorated and very cheerful. The buffet brunch was quite good. Usually hotel brunches are mediocre, but the pastries, fruit and hot dishes were actually very good. They tasted fresh and were hot and well prepared. If you're going to do some kind of large scale event of several hundred people, this is not a bad choice. I don't know about pricing, I don't know how easy the staff was to work with, but from a guest perspective, it was nicely done.

Yelp
Came by to leverage the meeting facilities the other day and it was a mediocre experience. Signia is now a rebranded Fairmont. The meeting rooms were extremely dated, including the ballroom. Air conditoning was great in the hall. Inside the meeting room, the room was extremely warm, like a locker room or sauna...yuck. AV equipment was rather dated too. Catering was rough. The breakfast pastries didn't look too appealing. The toilets were rather old and tired. Only some of the faucets were working. I heard that that the female toilets had a cockroach...

Yelp
Have stayed here a couple of times now when I'm not staying with my friends and can say this is a very nice hotel to be at. It's central to most hot spots downtown which is amazing since parking can be a hassle. The Signia does not allow you to park your own car in their parking garage which I found to be a bummer since sometimes Valet can be expensive for some. However, I found their valet service to be quite quick and timely. It was easy to drop off and even to pick up by texting them when I'd be leaving my room. The rooms i have stayed in have been quite spacious and seemed updated. Yes sometimes there would be issues sometimes from burnt out bulbs to loose sink handles but nothing too life altering. All in all, this is a great spot to stay at with their friendly service, their amazing amenities (especially the pool) and spacious rooms. Definitely will be coming back.
google avatar

Yelp
Laughably bad service for a supposed nice hotel. Check in reception people uncomfortably unfriendly, not just hate your job unfriendly... like weirdly look down their nose at you for merely existing unfriendly.. dang if i want to go through that there better be some amazing amenities or hipster shit or SOMETHING. But ALAS, not really nope...bar seems coolish in a worn out velvet couch sorta way. Room wise typical bed, chair, TV etc.. but get this. The toilets do not flush... so much so that they just want to send someone from maintenance to "teach you" how to flush it .... or instead they try to upcharge for a toilet that you don't have to flush 3 times (just for toilet paper btw)??? Also check out their view in the pics. LOL. Wouldn't have chosen this place except the other hotels in the area were already booked and now i know why!!! Ya live ya learn people. Save yourself a headache and stay ANYWHERE else.

Yelp
I stay at the hotel Sia recently, and it was very nice. I had a really great view. My room was clean the hotel. Staff was very welcoming and the bar drinks were delicious.

Yelp
Overdue review Stayed at a suite here for a couple nights for a wedding. . The sofa bed was a bit out dated looking. Was still somewhat comfortable. Tho the rolling cot seemed to have a much more comfy mattress. The bed was definitely comfy. The suite was spacious. So was the bathroom. Tho, I wished the vanity space had better lighting tho. As for the staff we came across, they provided exceptional service. From the valet all the way to the Phoenix bar manager Justin. They were outstanding. We all enjoyed our stay and would stay here again.

Yelp
Date: Thursday, December 21st, 2023 Time: around 5:45pm What: Drinks and Snacks at the Bar for 2 people A friend and I were heading to the Sharks game and decided to drop by Signia for a quick lobby bar drink. (I also had a credit I wanted to spend.) We had no idea the bar was a part of Aji Bar & Robata, so ended up getting a few snacks as well. The space itself are pretty spacious. We had no problem finding two seats at the bar. And there was plenty of lounge seating avail as well. Service was excellent. According to our bill, our server / bartender was Eric. He was great. Nice and attentive without being overly so. Had a great time for the 1+ hours we were here. I'll save my food thoughts for the restaurant review, but drink wise, we decided to try a few holiday offerings. Got the following. *Gingle All the Way: gin, st germaine, cranberry juice, lime juice ($18) *Whiskey Wonderland: Jameson, angostura bitters, orange, house-made cinnamon simple syrup ($20) Being a spirit forward cocktail kind of girl, I honestly didn't care much for these. But I appreciated the effort incorporating holiday notes into the drinks. It was fine for sipping. Typical nicer hotel bar with the expected pricing. If you have the mid tier Hilton CC and need to spend your quarterly credit, this isn't a bad place to grab a round if you're downtown.

Yelp
This review mainly focuses on the toiletries at this hotel. The hand wash, body wash, shampoo, and conditioner all contain Methylisothiazolinone, while the body lotion does not. I believe all hotels should publish the ingredients of their toiletries online. This would allow guests with allergies to determine if the products are safe to use and whether they need to bring their own. It could also impact their decision on how much to pack and whether they'll need to check luggage at the airport. All things aside, the staff are courteous and helpful, and the facility has a nice, upscale appearance.

Yelp
Good hotel, nice and clean. Room was good size too. We felt safe and was an easy walk to the SAP center. Only complaint was that there was no room service
google avatar

Yelp
Great hotel, not great staff. I used to stay here for work but had an invasion of privacy. Maid came in my room while I was getting changed in the bathroom. I had music and the tv on. She saw me in the bathroom fully naked and just stared. I yelled and said "what are you doing here?" and rather than apologizing and leaving right away, she proceeded to change out the coffee. Really unprofessional and concerning. I then talked to the customer service staff down stairs and they just offered Hilton points as an apology. Ok, do free show for my naked body in exchange for points. Very uncomfortable. I probably should've escalated to corporate but it was all just too disturbing. The only great thing here is the rooms are spacious and the hotel bar is great.

Yelp
I really enjoyed this hotel. The lobby is beautiful, although the drinks and appetizers are on the high $$$$ side. The service was good. The room was very comfortable and the Nest products used were the best. The location is good if you have something going on in downtown San Jose.

Fatella H.

Yelp
Creepy security guards that kept staring at my breasts....not a great way to spend vacation with your girlfriends here. The security guards need to be fired. Walking down the hallway I felt like I was in prison. Terrible hotel.

Yelp
Had a great experience at the Signia. The valet staff were so kind and helpful as we tried to find places to go with our kids. They even gave us umbrellas to walk with on a rainy day. The hotel is beautiful and the location is great whether you are walking or driving. Would recommend and hope to visit again sometime!

Yelp
We booked a 2-night stay at Signia through our Amex Platinum card. We paid for a room with a view and were "upgraded" to a higher floor as a perk through our Amex card. The room itself was average. However, we had no hot water in our shower! We had to ask to change rooms just to have hot water. There were also no toiletry kits, etc. which was disappointing. Our new room had hot water, but wasn't cleaned well. There was hair on the floor in the bathroom, leftover dog kibble on the carpet, and the room was only set up for 1 person (and we had 2). Therefore, not enough towels and missing a nightstand. The positives are that the TV was big and modern and it came with an empty mini fridge to put waters. Breakfast at the Fountain was also delicious, although we wouldn't have paid $25 for an omelette, had it not come as a perk with our Amex card. Guillermo and Juan were really nice and accommodating which made our breakfast experience really enjoyable. Valet was also seamless, but we did pay $47/night to park our car. Overall, it was an average experience. Not great, but not bad. But we probably would try another hotel next time we're in San Jose.
google avatar

Mike M.

Yelp
We had a fantastic stay at the Signia. It's a beautiful hotel and the room was perfectly clean. The beds were comfortable, and the employees were all really nice. Mario was the best waiter and served us an incredible breakfast. We'll be back for sure.
google avatar

Spencer F.

Yelp
Overall the hotel was very nice. We had no real complaints but it does not have the little extras that would make it a 5 star experience. Our room had a nice size and we had a view of the pool. The furnishings were up to date although, it would have been nice to have some of the newer USB_C areas to charge our devises. The entire hotel is well maintained and very clean. The staff members were all attentive and friendly. Our car came quickly when we wanted it. The area is convenient to many places in downtown San Jose.

Amber S.

Yelp
I have to say that this was probably one of the nicest hotels I've stayed at and would stay here again. I was lucky enough to get a room that had windows on two walls. I was able to open the windows slightly which helped to air out the room. The Beach Boys were also playing a concert in the park outside of my room which I was thrilled with. I was disappointed that they wouldn't let me check out late as I ended up getting food poisoning (not from the food at the hotel) and really needed to stay in my room longer until my flight. Pros: Comfortable beds Comfortable pillows Clean room Soft sheets and pillow cases Big screen tv Rain/dual shower head Automatic flushing toilet Nice towels/wash cloths Nice/helpful staff Cons: Weird/dingy smell in my room Shower head pipe was missing a wall plate cover Cockroach was wandering around the lobby by the elevators

Yelp
Great venue, great stay. Beautiful hotel. Rooms are well-appointed. Staff was kind. Valeria was especially helpful and provided superior support.

Yelp
Beautiful hotel centrally located in downtown San Jose. I attended a show at the Civic Center which was a short walk a few blocks away. Best of all? It's also super close to Original Joe's. I wish I could capture the intoxicating scent of the lobby into a bottle that I could keep forever. I can't describe it but it's one of my favorite scents EVER now. Their marketing peeps really know how to get a girl to fall in love and it worked on me! lol. The rooms were comfortable, the bathrooms had a luxe feel to them. I was stunned by the sophisticated bar in the lobby. It made for a nice little photo shoot. I'm no professional photographer but the lobby made capturing its beauty easy. My stay was made special by a gentleman named Mohammed who works in Valet for the hotel. Such a kind and accommodating fella. He was so incredibly friendly every time he saw our group. He went above and beyond to ensure we had things to our liking and whatever we needed. I'll always remember him and associate a positive memory with this stay. My group took a picture with him on the day of our departure, and I'd share it, but I am not sure if Mohammad would like to be posted online. Hilton has a very special employee in him. I am certain he is the best valet attendant in all of the Bay Area. :) I'll absolutely be returning when I find myself in San Jose again.

Yelp
Just finished having a staycation here with my girls. I think the lobby and bar is really nice and looks beautiful, but it's not enough to make up for the front desk experience. I had called the day previous and mentioned i would be in at 3, which i was told confidently my room would be ready. Long story short, our room wasn't ready til 6:30pm... we waited 3.5 hrs at the pool because we had nothing else to do. I spoke with the front desk lady to see if she could provide us with anything while we wait (maybe a comped breakfast, or a drink ticket for the bar) and she blatantly said "no" and had a really bad attitude. I worked in hospitality at a hotel for many years, so i was taken aback by her dryness and overall mean demeanor from the get go. But i accepted my L and decided i would just chill in the lobby. Then we decided to go to the pool since we had nothing else to do ( remember this is supposed to be a staycation) but there was so many people at the pool (because no one had a room) that even that wasn't enjoyable. Luckily, Marris was able to take some money of our night stay and comp our parking. It wasn't even about the comps, but the way he spoke to us and really listened to our frustration was all we wanted. He really turned things around for us in the evening and truly think he is an example of how people should interact with guests. The whole front desk should probably be trained by him. Lastly, i had to pay extra for a 3rd person in a 2 double bed room, yet there wasn't even 3 towels in the room and when i called down to get an additional towel we had to wait over an hour for it come. I probably won't be staying here again, because overall it just missed the mark.

Yelp
Our room was quite new looking and well taken care of. Big TV, comfortable beds with clean linens, bathroom and shower also clean and well maintained with no signs of discoloration you often see in grout and caulk. The toilet is a little unconventional in that there's a non-working motion/presence detector, so you need to manually press this small button to flush the toilet. That's not ideal, but it's not something that would prevent me from wanting to stay here again. The TV is a bit limited with no streaming capabilities and even though it appeared to have some theoretical capability to cast video on it from a mobile device, we got an error message when we tried to use it. So you're kind of stuck with whatever channels are offered on their cable package. Again, fairly minor. The usual expected amenities, with a small Nespresso machine and several pods to choose from, as well as sugar, Coffee Mate, etc. Some bottled water as well. The room was cleaned well and made up nicely on a daily basis. Staff friendly enough and efficient. The valet parking is pricey, so we opted to park at a local lot for much less. I'm sure it very much depends when you want to stay w.r.t. what rates you'll get, but for Labor Day weekend, the rates were quite reasonable and the location is very convenient for visiting local restaurants, museums, etc. We very much enjoyed our stay here and would recommend it to visitors needing or wanting to stay in downtown.

Yelp
I was invited to this hotel for an event, the event space was laid out so well, there was a lot of space for through traffic and to get in and out. The catering for the event was 5 stars. I am tempted to book a night here to experience the rooms! I loved the feel and design of the lobby too.

Yelp
If you are planning to have your wedding here, I strongly urge you to reconsider! Our experience was an absolute nightmare, riddled with unexpected charges even right after the wedding. Whenever we questioned a charge, we were met with the dismissive response, "Everything was in the contract." Let me begin with our event manager, Sheila Newman. Initially, she came across as nice and friendly, but once the contract was signed, her true colors showed. Sheila's straightforwardness bordered on outright rudeness. I have audio recordings of our phone calls, and her tone and comments were nothing short of unacceptable. Despite having paid over 70% of the wedding costs, Sheila had the audacity to bluntly tell us, "No payment, no wedding." This was directed at customers who had already paid a substantial amount. While we had no issue paying, her complete lack of professionalism was shocking. She could have at least said something like, "I understand your frustration, but we can't proceed until we have the full amount." Instead, she treated us with blatant disrespect, speaking to me as if I were her subordinate. Furthermore, even if I had forgotten some contract details, Sheila's response of, "You didn't read the contract, did you? Well, you should have!" is utterly unacceptable. You don't talk to a customer who has spent over $50,000--likely her annual salary--in such a demeaning manner. My father-in-law even tipped her an additional $500 in cash, yet her behavior remained atrocious. Adding to this, we were promised that the floor we rented would be divided by curtains if there was another event on the same floor. However, during a brief trip to the bathroom, I saw people from other events wandering around our paid space, contrary to what we were assured. To make matters worse, after the wedding, some of our guests complained about the rude behavior of the staff. This was deeply embarrassing and completely unacceptable. The horror didn't end there. We stayed at the hotel the night after our wedding and were given a complimentary breakfast. When we arrived at the restaurant, there were human nails on the floor where we were seated. It was revolting and made me extremely uncomfortable. This occurred on May 12 between 10:30 and 11:06. I urge the Signia staff to review the restaurant's cameras if they have any doubts. As if that wasn't enough, the food was absolutely dreadful. In conclusion, we were extremely dissatisfied with the service. We were charged around 25-27% as a service fee, which is nearly $10,000, for this absolutely disgusting service. Although everything was nearly horrible, the valet guys were amazing, and there was another manager, who I believe was from Egypt, who was also very nice. But other than these few positives, everything else was horrible. I hope the management takes this feedback seriously and makes drastic improvements to avoid ruining more special occasions.

Yelp
Great size room, design and furniture are dated, seats are gross/dirty.. but the beds are very comfortable. Booked the junior suite, no view but very spacious. Wifi is free only if you reload every 4h, so that was a bummer.. you can pay for a normal set up.. in 2023... come on.. TV great size, but you can't cast from your own device which is a little disappointed to be stuck with the tv channel. Overall the design of the lobby and bar are really nice and trendy. Food is good too!

Yelp
I wanted so much to leave a 5 . So our family has a wedding in this hotel and our whole wedding guests of maybe 200 + stayed the weekend here . My husband and I booked our room in advance and only booked a day but called bk to add another day . The person that spoke with me reassure me that I'll have a room on higher floor with a view of downtown . We got to the hotel to check in the lady who helped was just rude . We went in to our room and to our horror it was on the lobby floor or first floor don't remeber but there were no other rooms other then staff office n some broom closet anyways the room was far in a corner . I opened the curtain and all I saw was spider webs dirty Window and I belive the back of trash bin or just wall smacked on our view . The man the brought our bags shook his head I saw he knew we were wronged but kept quiet. I nearly cried I told My husband I'm not staying in there it smelled and was dark and dusty . I came bk to the lobby and the lady said " sorry all rooms Are booked I pleaded with her please I'm staying here for two nights we travel far and this is wrong . They have our room away probably and stuck us in corner maybe she didn't like something about us I don't know . So I nearly died but we were with our son I did not want him to see me like that. She left the lady in front desk and I went to the next girl and told her my issues and how I was told my room was on top and I'm next to the staff toilet ( looks like ) the girl checked her computer n asked what's your room number ? When I mentioned the number she said " oh wow oh ok let Me help you" she then said no prob sorry for you trouble and gave us a room on 16th floor and a view . We went up I was pleased but still upset at the treatment the first time. As the same guy brought our belongings from the other room my hubby apologize for the moving and gave him an awesome tip . The man reluctant to speak said " maam when you told Me your first room I knew it was bad for you but I couldn't speak up . He then said I'm so sorry for how you felt this shouldn't have happened to you and happy we got a new room . The wedding was great beautiful . If I'm spending so much money on a hotel . Please treat your customers with respect and kindness and just because she may have had a bad day or didn't like us for whatever reason ! Do your job . I'm still upset thinking of that room and how embarrassing it was to ask for room in front of others . Horrible treatment I wish I'd stayed in the one across . Please meet with your staff and teach them well that customers should be treated with respect . I even asked during the wedding if they Can help with something so small and was told by the girl who looked annoyed that I disturbed her and another staff 's convo , " Sorey were busy we can't " I will call corporate and I need for someone to apologize for making us feel so badly . No one deserve that at a paid hotel .

Yelp
My work had a conference here and management is horrible. The workers help as much as they can thank you. I would not recommend this hotel management is not helpful. Customer service was poor on their end.

Yelp
Front desk ppl aren't kind . I wouldn't stay here ever again. Not to friendly for checking in guest . Other then that it's a nice hotel

Yelp

Yelp
What was once the Fairmont Hotel in downtown San Jose is now officially a Signia by Hilton property. You'll notice a new re-fresh at the Signia. The renovation began during the pandemic when it was closed to the public prior to the new ownership. It's not a down-to-the-stud remodel, but a nice contemporary remodel with a more modern and comfy feel. Within the Hilton brand, I'd say Signia falls somewhere between the Conrad and Canopy collections. If you're looking for meeting space, put this hotel on your radar. Meeting room options are pretty vast for both smaller and large corporate groups. Parking is $26 for valet/overnight parking; No self-parking. Street parking is available, but if you're there in the evening, I'd suggest using valet for safety reasons. Still one of my business hotels of choice for a convenient downtown San Jose location.

Yelp
Chef Joe Derla and his staff are the BEST EVER! I recently planned my company's Executive Offsite at this hotel and Joe Derla and his team produced the most beautiful food display that I have ever seen with attention to detail on everything! The food was amazing and the quality and taste were beyond compare! I would eat here daily if I could:) We had a vegan and a vegetarian and he made an additional vegan desert that even the non-vegans said was the best! Literally... look no further for food and beverage as the Hilton Downtown SJ is the best. Thank you Joe Derla for setting a high bar!!!! Additionally, I would like to compliment Sheila Newman and Ritu Khurana and their teams for helping organize/plan a seamless event with superb customer service and support. If you need to plan a corporate event, Signia by Hilton SJ is the only place to do it!!!

Yelp
I loved my room. I had a big room however I saw an insect in their bathroom and I was so Grossed out. I love all Hilton hotels and stay at Hilton only.

Yelp
We're greeted nicely and Christopher at the front desk was personable and nice. My wife wanted a view of Plaza de Cesar Chavez and the pool. Christopher said the view towards the mountains would be better, so we took the room he suggested, which included all the mechanical equipment on the building roof next door (see pic). We were told we could use the steam and sauna in the gym (neither are working), and our room has nothing on the wall - nothing to make it look nice. I had to plug in the TV and refrigerator as nothing was working upon arrival. There is something wrong with the shower temp control, as all we could get was scalding hot water. The corner shelf in the shower is falling off the wall too, and the shower floor is very slippery. We've stayed here many times before when it was the San Jose Fairmont - we sure miss the Fairmont. BTW, we have a Jr Suite...

Yelp
Fantastic hotel. This is our go to hotel in San Jose and Signia stay never disappoints! Great food, delicious drinks and the architecture is stunning! Definitely recommend.

Yelp
Update, they were awful with sorting out the fraudulent charge. I ended up having to dispute it through American Express to get my money back.

Yelp
DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL. This hotel is not a "5 Star" establishment. It's not even a 2 star hotel. A local holiday inn would be better in almost every conceivable way. Let's talk about why this hotel is terrible. First: price. Compared to the other hotels within a one block distance, it is nearly 3 times as expensive. You would think that this extremely high cost would bring with it added benefits? Whether it were nicer rooms, excellent customer service, or free amenities (such as a free daily breakfast), but no. What this added cost provides is an opportunity for the staff to be standoffish with guests; old decrepit furniture (the beds are like sleeping on a slab of concrete), the opportunity to pay an ADDITIONAL $47 per day for parking, not including the tip for valet (which is the only option). Hell, they even charge you for the bottled water and COFFEE MAKER in the room. On top of this, if you need to have a package delivered to yourself while staying, you will be charged another "fee" for processing and handling. My best advice. Stay the hell away from this hotel. It is disrepectful to jokes to call this hotel a joke. If location is the only thing that dictates this absurd price and terrible service. Do yourself a favor and book a room at one of the many other hotels within a block or two of this place.

Yelp
Everything went well here. The restaurant and bar quality was amazing. Everything is new and trendy. 24 hour Valet service. The room was spacious, clean, modern and worst every penny. The customer service was professional and very welcoming. The pool and gym (everything new) was the final reward.

Yelp
Wow this used to be the Fairmont Hotel now called Signia by Hilton. The bomb hotel. Beautiful and huge and very luxurious. Restaurants are delicious and the room service was excellent. The Piano bar always classy and really enjoyed the music when visiting friends and events. The exercise room was big and a lot to use as needed. One of the skyscrapers in San Jose Ca. 22 stories tall. The roof top was always fun to visit. Ever since Covid came along it changed a little in all the business in San Jose. If you are looking for a 5-star hotel, check this place out now called the Signia by Hilton?? I will always remember it as The Fairmont Hotel. Just like in San Francisco. You want to go there with that special someone you may have or any company event. The banquets and food were always made to your request. Enjoy.

Yelp
Girls weekend staycation- very pleasantly surprised by this hotel. It was great and would definitely recommend it! Nice staff, updated (formerly Fairmont) making for a lovely stay.

Yelp
We had an amazing 4 day stay, over looking the pool and the park area. The dj in the lounge, the cocktails and the food was all amazing. I loved the location. Only downfall was mandatory valet parking. Staff was very attentive and kind.

Yelp
Signage is horrific in this hotel. Finding an elevator, rooms during conferences and rest rooms are poorly marked or not marked at all! No room service! Only two elevators appear to work. You need to wait 10 minutes and then everyone crowd in. Front desk is nice but not helpful. App doesn't work for check in or key access. All around not a great hotel. Don't host your conference here. Your attendees will complain. I have not heard one positive remark from anyone.

Yelp
This is the type of hotel where you feel like a VIP from the moment you enter the building. Mohammad greeted us warmly when we arrived and helped us get our car seat out of the Uber and then tagged and stored it since we wouldn't be using it during our visit. He also helped us bring the bags up to our room. The other hotel staff members were equally welcoming and kind. This was our first trip with our baby and I felt self-conscious and out of place being in such a posh hotel with a baby but everyone made us feel welcome. They provided a crib and extra linens and towels for us plus extra water bottles, which was especially nice since it was so hot during our visit. The bar lounge area was cozy and relaxing. It felt like we were hanging out at our stylish friend's house. There was always chill music playing softly in the background. We ordered in-room dining for pickup a couple of times and everything was tasty. The hotel is in a convenient location downtown right next to the art museum and an easy walk to other attractions like the Children's Discovery museum as well as a few nice parks. Public transit stations are also walking distance even though we did not take advantage of it. We are loyal Hilton Diamond members and this hotel definitely made us feel special.

Yelp
This is a very dated hotel that is more two or three star than four star. The decor is old and peeling--my room chair is literally peeling off in large chunks. My room wasn't cleaned despite multiple requests and there is a long wait to talk to anyone at the front desk (and front desk is useless). There was a water outage in the whole building the first morning I stayed. Will find a different place to stay for business travel next time.

Yelp
We stayed here for nights. And we're impressed from the start. Everyone was so nice and welcoming. Any request was answered with, a we'll get on that right away. The room was fantastic and very clean. We were in San Jose, and Signia was the highlight of our time there.
