This place is absolutely amazing! Being so close to the airport was a definite plus for convenience. The environment was great – a really pleasant atmosphere. Ordering was a breeze; you simply follow the clear instructions right at your table, which made the whole process very simple. The drinks were delicious and refreshing. But the real star of the show was the food. It was absolutely delicious, so much so that it made me immediately want to look up a recipe to try and replicate the dish at home! Highly recommend this place.

This coffee shop is just a stone’s throw away from Newark Penn Station, offers the best coffee in town. From the moment you step inside, you’re greeted by outstanding service. The staff is incredibly fast and friendly, always ready to greet you with a smile and make sure you have a great experience.

Sihana Cafe feels like a warm hug from an old friend. The staff is super friendly, and every corner is full of stories — old books, a retro typewriter, vintage radios… you can easily spend an afternoon here getting lost in the details. I ordered a latte and the chorizo omelette. The latte was smooth but the milk foam didn’t quite blend in perfectly, and the art could be stronger. The chorizo in the omelette was really tasty and the potatoes were crispy and flavorful. But for me, there was too much cheese on top — almost like eating a pizza! Great at first bite, but gets a bit heavy towards the end. Still, if you love quirky spaces and brunch plates that feel homemade, it’s worth a stop.

This is a great spot to walk to after a visit to the Newark art museum. The interior is nicely done with spacious wood block like tables and looking out on the street. Menu is not extensive but then again it’s not a diner. I ordered the salmon bowl which was delicious and everything was fresh. The cost was reasonable all things considered. I also ordered the cafe au lait which was also good but they had no sweetener, only sugar. The service was fine albeit our server seemed a little gruff (no smile, no greeting) but that doesn’t bother me as much as it may for others. I’m figuring maybe he was a having a tough day (?) . Even though it’s a place featuring Georgian food, there was really only one dish. I thought they had appetizers of Georgian origin but there wasn’t an option to order any. Maybe next time!

The focaccia bread with prosciutto was incredibly fresh and delicious — perfectly crispy, aromatic, with a great balance of textures and flavors. The shakshuka was outstanding: eggs cooked just right, the sauce rich and flavorful with a subtle kick — everything was perfectly balanced. The interior is cozy and inviting, with a calm and quiet atmosphere — a great spot to relax and enjoy a meal. I’ll definitely be coming back!

* "Perfect start to the day! The coffee was excellent, and the avocado toast was fresh and delicious." * "A truly lovely breakfast spot. Simple, but the quality of the coffee and avocado toast really stood out." * "Highly recommend for a relaxed morning. Great coffee and their avocado toast is a must-try!"

Google
Genuinely horrible experience. This place is completely a tourist trap. Sure, the interior is cute—but the drinks and food are so bad. I got the most watered-down, disgusting matcha, and when I asked them to fix it, the staff were incredibly rude. It was pale green and tasted like it had been sitting out, melting for 30 minutes. Instead of helping, the servers lectured me on how matcha is made—and when they did go to fix it, nothing changed. I know several people who’ve been here and had the exact same complaints about both the food and the matcha. Apparently, the coffee is just average too. The shakshouka was literally tomato paste with two boiled eggs, a lump of cheese, and some bread—nowhere near what it’s supposed to be. I would never come back. I never leave review tbh but I genuinely don’t understand how this place has good ones so I had to. The photo is the matcha after they “added more”.

Google
While looking for a good brunch spot near Newark Penn Station, I stumbled upon this gem. Ordering is done by scanning a QR code and sending your order directly to the kitchen, giving the place a semi self-service vibe. I had the bacon and mushroom omelette, while my partner went for the veggie omelette. I absolutely loved the atmosphere here—the decor features lots of books, creating a cozy and laid-back vibe. Dining here felt like losing track of time in the best way. I’d definitely love to come back next time I’m in the area!

Yelp
The coffee was large and delicious, I ordered an egg, bacon, avocado and cheese sandwich. Very tasty (messy). The eclectic decor was that of a Greenwich village coffee shop. There technology was not working I'm not sure why. Sorry I ate the food before I remembered to take a picture.

Yelp
We had breakfast here during the weekday right before we head on over to the city. We sat down and placed our orders on our phones and everything was pretty quick. I ordered a bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich along with a matcha drink. The sandwich came out very hot and was freshly made. I shared with my sister as they were pretty big halves. Service was good. Employees were nice. The inside was super cute and cozy. It felt very peaceful as we ate. Bathrooms were clean.

Yelp
This is a cozy and charmingly decorated cafe about 5 mins walk from Newark Penn Station. Perfect for brunch with healthy and tasty food. We ordered chicken sandwich and vegetarian omelette with hot chocolate on a rainy day and it definitely put us in a better mood. All dishes came with a side of fries and were presented beautifully. The owners are really nice and friendly. Highly recommend!

Yelp
I had a great experience at Sihana Café in Newark, which I discovered on Instagram. It's such a charming and modern space, with a lovely nod to the city of Newark. I thoroughly enjoyed my club sandwich--it was easily the most beautiful and delicious one I've ever had--paired with some very tasty french fries. The only downside was the ordering process. The staff directed me to order at the kiosk instead of through her, which resulted in all my food being packaged to-go. I later learned that wasn't the intended process. For that reason, I'd give it four out of five stars.

Yelp
Great food and amazing breakfast and brunch place in Newark. I ordered their omelette, hole in wall bagel, and shiasuka. Both Omelette and Shiasuka are reallly good!!! Yum yum...but don't order the hole in wall bagel. No taste!!!

Yelp
Visited after church & it was the perfect spot to chill with my 5 friends. Sat next to the bookshelves & had fun chatting. Great food, easy ordering service--they have QR codes on every table, optional of course--and their Matcha Latte actually tastes like real matcha! Believe me, I've been to tons of local cafes and it was a relief to enjoy my drink this time. We all ordered meals and got no complaints. Every latte is served in a large cup, good for your buck. The waiters are very friendly too. Would love to make this an occasional post-church hangout spot!

Yelp
Make sure you visit when you're nearby. Food is fresh and delicious, staff is friendly and efficient. Homelike atmosphere.

Yelp
Casual coffee house type of place but nice casual menu with very good options. Mostly healthy oriented made quickly and well. Friendly staff, clean and reasonable. Don't confuse this place (like I did) with Sihana Bistro which is a full service place.

Yelp
This coffeeshop/Cafe is a real gem it's located about 3 blocks from Penn Station so it is extremely convenient. They offer great food and their coffee is absolutely amazing. If you go towards the back of the cafe, they have intimate seating and books all over. Really a reader's dream! Often, I'll order a latte and some sort of pie. They make cute designs on the foam and offer lemon, pistachio, and vegan options too. At every table you'll find a QR menu so you can order right from the table or go up to the counter making service extremely convenient.

Yelp
I came for breakfast in the middle of the week and overall it's quiet. Service is super friendly and I ordered their special which I've had at other restaurants. It's really good.. Bread is fresh so sopping up that tomato-based "soup" is really tasty. Especially as it was cold that morning so helped warm me up. Found parking right next to the place also.

Yelp
Absolutely loved this "Brooklyn-like" cafe with its charming ambiance, great service, and delicious food.

Yelp
Wonderful coffee/latte and chocolate croissant in the morning as I waited on some friends to grab me. The service was great, the vibes inside were calm, and my little dog was of course making all the commotion haha Would recommend this spot and will be spending more time in the future here.

Yelp
This is my go-to for brunch in the Ironbound. Cute coffee shop with good food and vibes. Staff is always pleasant and never in a rush to get you out. I've had their chorizo omelet, smoked salmon bagel, and shrimp in garlic sauce rice bowl - all very delicious. I've also tried some of their baked goods which are definitely recommended. Great place to just chill and relax and enjoy good food and company.

Yelp
Everything was great, small ,cute space for anyone who would want to enjoy hanging out with friends or work

Yelp
Was looking for cafes offering food and coffee while visiting Newark and found this place. Parking can be a challenge but once that is taken care of you get to enjoy this lovely cafe. Ideal for a smaller group but they do have one big table that can seat 6-8 guests. I love that it looks homey with all the plant decor and warm tones. Ordering is also convenient - using your phone they have a QR code to scan where you order and pay online. We tried their matcha latte and regular latte and both were good. Matcha isnt sweetened though just fyi. The latte was nicely done and both drinks had such cute latte arts. Always a bonus! For food, hubster got the smoked salmon and the egg was done perfectly. For me I got the bacon mushroom omelette. It was almost "well-done" and although still good, i think i prefer it a little fluffier. It came with a side of potatoes, salad and toast. Overall we loved the place. It was warm and cozy and if you prefer a more "quieter" spot, they actually have more space if you pass by the counter and there are many books to choose from on that side. Oh and I love the gender neutral restrooms as well. This cafe is quite well thought of!

Yelp
This place is pretty good it was a little hole in the wall downtown Newark. The prices are average and I had gotten a bagel sandwich it was tasty they give u two pieces of fried potato on the side I guess as garnish. The vibes are like urban outfitters turning into a café, it's cool inside. Definitely a little boho cafe. They have everything that you would need for breakfast and a little coffee date for yourself or a friend.
google avatar

Del marie V.

Yelp
Large cafe compared to the ones I usually find myself in, this cafe has an open space concept with art decor and books which allows you to take your time and enjoy their coffee. In the heart of the ironbound section of Newark, you can get a tasty cappuccino made with great pride There's a menu in the cafe but didn't explore.
google avatar

Sarita V.

Yelp
The food and service were fairly good. The dog wandering around, placing paws and face up on the table while I'm dining, not so much..

Sara C.

Yelp
the place is very modern and nice and clean, but don't like the part that you have to order your own food, everything has a cost, even 1.00 for half and half with your coffee. They automatically take out 18%, but you have to do your own ordering with the code, phone and put the order together. Don't ask if you want water or special way you want your meat to be. But the worse was that dogs are allowed in the cafe, but they were roaming around not on a lease, barking at all the other dogs that were there and who wants to have dogs at your feet when you are eating. At first I thought I would bring people there, but I would NEVER go there again.

Yelp
The three of us enjoyed our first time visit here. So many delicious options on the menu. I had the shakshuka. They had a club sandwich, omelette, berry dessert. The person behind the counter was extremely helpful and engaging. We shared the table with several other employees. We also enjoyed the murals on the wall, the old victrola record player and other decorative items. Unfortunately we enjoyed ourselves too long and I got a parking ticket (even though we did not see any signs indicating a limit).

Yelp
If I could give 0 stars, I would. Horrible attitude from staff and i believe owner. First things first, girl in the front gave me attitude because I was paying with a $50 bill and then snatched bill from my hand. Second of all, I asked for a large and per photos, it looks like a small. When I asked about the different sizes, the guy in the front wearing a cap, only said that that "it's artisanal coffee". I guess it's okay to call artisanal to watered down coffee LOL . I came here because I saw the good reviews on my visit to the area from nyc but next time, I rather take my business elsewhere.

Yelp
Sunday brunch with friends couldn't have been any better. Aesthetically pleasing ambiance with a friendly customer service. One of the BEST latte's we have all had in a very long time. One of the friend (drumroll for Diljit Dosanjh's lead drummer from India) liked the latte so much that he made sure to visit the cafe again on Monday before leaving for his next gig in VA. In frame: Beverages: Hazelnut latte with almond milk, Hazelnut latte with oat milk, and cortado in vanilla flavor. Food: Avocado toast with poached eggs and another without the eggs, cheese flatbread and pancakes. Everything was 10/10. Pancakes were not on the menu but they said they could do it. Thank you, Sihana cafe. You're a gem!
google avatar

Nehal A.

Yelp
A very pretty cafe in the neighborhood. Menu is relatively small, but good enough brunch options. They also sell bakery items like brownie and cupcakes. Lots of good hot drinks available. The brunch dishes we tried were made excellent. Fresh eggs, salads and well made pancakes. They are pet friendly restaurant.
google avatar

Danielle J.

Yelp
One of the better coffee shops in the area. The cappuccinos here are mind blowingly good. Made just right, they have a unique flavor and taste great. The people working here are very nice. Pricing is reasonable. Its'a nice cafe to come relax at.
google avatar

Wei H.

Yelp
Nice gem for brunch. Modern vibe decor and pet friendly restaurant. The food is great. We had poached eggs w avocado toast, egg/ham sandwich, eggs with toast and banana/chocolate pancake. All are very good. Friendly staff. Quick service!!

Marilen C.

Yelp
I ordered breakfast for my friend and I this morning (04/25/24). I received my order on time, but when I tried the House potatoes, they were raw, crunchy, and hard in the middle. They were undercooked, which is disappointing given that they cost around $8 for the two servings of potatoes, almost $4 each. Unfortunately I didn't take a picture of the rest of the items because my friend and I were hungry, but my poached egg salmon toast had avocado that was brown on some parts, what happens when you let avocado sit out and oxidize. Also, the presentation was a bit messy and it looked a bit thrown together. The "toast" was just the bottom of a regular bread roll. And my friend's bacon egg and cheese sandwich had no cheese whatsoever. But what makes things worse is that I can't rate the food on Uber Eats. I provided pictures of other restaurants that do let me, which is normal, but Sihana Cafe doesn't for some reason. And I think that's very misleading for a restaurant that has a 4.8/5 rating on UberEats. Based on the food I got, the quality of the food doesn't match the rating at all.
google avatar

Yelp
Cute coffee shop located in the middle of ironbound. The cafe offers pastries, bowls, coffee & tea and they have a Crepes cart! Great place to WFM or study also. The cafe highlights Newark Artists as shown in the video by the art decor around the cafe. I got a Vanilla latte & a yogurt bowl. Both were decent. The coffee could be a little stronger but just my opinion. Def a nice place to stop by and just get coffee with a friend or change of scenery if you work from home. Don't know if I'd go back just for the coffee.
google avatar

Yelp
Nice little cafe in the ironbound part of Newark. It's very laid back hip they have a bookshelf with a ton of books and products from a local artist for sale. I ordered a redeye coffee black which was very good and fresh. I also had a chocolate chip cookie that was amazing with a generous amount of chips in it. The service was good and they brought the food to my table which was very nice

Ray R.

Yelp
Stopped by for lunch on my break. To start off the Manager there has a terrible attitude .... also before I ordered i went to wash my hands in the bathroom. The bathroom was occupied so I waited . While waiting I just so happened to look upand notice there were cockaroaches the size of my hand crawling inside the light fixture. Now the light itself is sealed to the ceiling which means they have an infestation of roaches within their walls . I posted this review on Google reviews and multiple times the restaurant owner had deleted it . So I'm leaving this review here on yelp now . DISGUSTING.

Stuart S.

Yelp
The steak sandwich was delicious and very spicy. Great bread. Chill atmosphere. Warm and friendly service.

Yelp
This little local spot is by far one of my favorite places to stop into in the Newark. Aside from the consistent good, quality food, the waitstaff and managers are all amazing, always greeting you with a good, welcoming energy. This place is always busy, but it's never too loud for me to get some work done and chat with the people around me. I seem to be drawn to the avocado toast with the poached egg lately, but the shakshuka, omelettes, and hot bowls are also delicious. The pastries are all so good--I have to contain myself from over ordering them on a regular basis. I often order a vanilla latte with extra shots to get my day started, but I recently tried their chai latte and it was one of the best I've ever had.

Yelp
Overrated, Food Portions & Quality is not what's on paper or what's off these reviews. So I called up to pickup a breakfast order. I was told by the gentleman on the phone they have Turkey Ham. I got 2 Slices of Cold Cut Turkey I asked for a 16oz hot coffee with milk & sugar BUT was still given a small 12oz & I had to double check & get another coffee with NO Sugar. There was no other customers, the store just opened. I ordered home fries, or was told they are homemade roasted potatoes. I just got one small slice of potato $16 for a platter that could easily be no more than $9 anywhere else. DO NOT be fooled by the fancy reviews, menu or ambience. Be careful or do not support this business?! 0 stars

Yelp
This café is absolutely amazing!! My fiancé and I were visiting from out of town and saw some of the amazing reviews, so we decided to pop in for a late brunch! The lattes were delicious (White Chocolate and Caramel) and the breakfast options were super tasty (Egg in the Hole and Bacon Egg Avocado on Everything bagel). There's even a cute little food stand that sells crêpes from 9-5 on Sundays! The service was also friendly without being invasive, and everything came out fresh and hot! I cannot recommend enough!
google avatar

Roxanne O.

Yelp
Loved this place! You order from a QR code and pay from your phone. But we came a few minutes too late for breakfast but the barista allowed us to order still, and we paid up at the front. The croissant with the tomato was wonderful, though I did think that the Tiago would be warm. Our flat whites were smooth and just the right amount of sweetness for steamed milk, and I wish I could have enjoyed it more but I was on a time limit. Definitely would come again and enjoy the other half of the cafe which is a little cozier and surrounded by books.
google avatar

Hellen B.

Yelp
One of my fave little spots. Food is delicious! I normally come here for lunch for the chicken sandwich and the amazing fries. Came here for brunch for the first time and it did not disappoint. We had the avo toast with poached eggs and pancakes with chocolate chip banana and strawberry. Everything was amazing!
google avatar

Lauren C.

Yelp
Three faves on the menu: oat milk latte, vegetarian omelette and the Vegan Tofu Bowl. Order extra tahini dressing for the bowl, it's so good!
google avatar

Brianna W.

Yelp
My first time here. Wanted to try it based on the reviews. The food was great, nice and flavorful. I would have loved a larger portion, for the $25 I paid, but it was definitely good. The vibe definitely reminded me of a New York loft w/ brick, art, and books everywhere. They have areas for you to use your laptop and also offer free Wi-Fi. The staff is super friendly and really inviting. After looking over the menu trying to compare the Yelp online ordering options to the physical menu, David answered all my questions and was very patient with me as I briefly showed him my hearing aids. (There is no ramp for anyone using a wheelchair, but the outside seating is fully accessible for those who need accommodating during the nice weather.) The food took a reasonable amount of time and the cappuccino came out almost right away. This was a great self-care Sunday experience & I'll be definitely be back.
google avatar

Zee M.

Yelp
The food was really good! I ate it too fast and forgot to take a picture. I had a matcha latte (added coconut flavoring) and hot chocolate. It did not disappoint. The food arrived at a relatively good time. The online ordering system makes it easier.
google avatar

Yelp
Sihana is my new favorite cafe downtown Newark! I usually bring my laptop and go for lunch. The servers don't rush you, they let you take your time and order what you want. It's also located right on Ferry Street within walking distance of Penn Station. Now onto the food, the Korean fried chicken sandwich is out of this world. It's fried to perfection the sauce is a perfect accompaniment to the sandwich. This place also has the best fries in Newark, and I will be happy to debate this with anyone (lol)! Highly recommend!
google avatar

Jessica J.

Yelp
Cute cafe with lots of space/tables to work at. The ham and cheese croissant was very yummy. The workers were sweet, but when I came to the front, rather than tell me that I need to order from the QR code on the table, they just ignored me and went about their work. I figured out on my own how to order, and they attended to me then. All in all, I recommend this cafe for those who want to linger for long hours to get some work done! There's ample space.
google avatar

David A.

Yelp
Came into the cafe early on. Sunday morning based on the Yelp reviews. I was looking for a quick bite before a train and I didn't want to get crummy food at the train station. Staff was great and the cup of coffee was nice and strong (for my coffee person). The 3 egg breakfast plate was awesome and a real bargain too. The cafe is in a neat older building with lots of atmosphere. Exposed brick and free books to peruse. I'll be back next time I'm in Newark.
google avatar

Yelp
Sihana is a great breakfast, lunch, take a meeting with a coworker or meet up with a friend spot. I mean everything that I had was delicious and the atmosphere is vibey but also chill. The staff is patient and also kind. Don't you just love when you have that kind of experience? Anyway, I had the bacon and mushroom omelette which was tasty and my partner had the chicken Caesar salad which was also tasty. I love that they make the dressing from scratch, using real anchovies, I'm drooling just thinking about it. Now for the final recap, the cappuccino is wildly amazing. The perfect amount of espresso and milk were combined to make this awesomeness. It wasn't too milky or too weak, just perfect. Honestly, Sihana deserves 5/5 but parking can be hell so that's why I'm rating it a 4/5. Definitely recommend! 4/5

Yelp
I have visited Sihana Café 3 times over the span of 2 weeks and it's been amazing having them in the neighborhood. I've lived in the Ironbound area for close to 2 years and there is NOTHING like Sihana Cafe around. It has been really refreshing to have a different type of cuisine to enjoy, even the decor differs from the surrounding restaurants. The area is saturated with different layers/flavors of Spanish food so when I saw that they finally opened, I was really excited. I love their decor! It's very warm and rustic. I love the brick walls inside the restaurant even more. Can't wait to see what the restaurant looks like when indoor seating is allowed again and things are "normal". The outdoor seating is properly spaced for the COVID-19 restrictions, they provide hand-sanitizer at the entrance of the restaurant, and staff are wearing masks. They also provide contact-less payment. Food: The cuisine is a mix of Georgian, Italian, French, and Spanish. So far I have ordered the Mixed Seafood in Coconut Sauce, the Chicken Flatbread, and the Chocolate Fondant dessert. I've also had their coffee, which is really good. My favorite so far has been the FLATBREAD. OMG the bread just alone was perfect, I would have been satisfied just eating that lol. I came to find out that they make the bread in-house and it shows. The chicken was well seasoned and full of flavor. The tomato sauce was also delicious. The dish was a 10/10 for me. Everything I've had so far has been exceptional. The service is good and the staff are very friendly and are always recommending dishes. They seem to be really passionate about their restaurant, the quality of the food and the customer experience.

Yelp
It was a special surprise landing on this restaurant. We started with chais and cappuccinos. The chai was perfection (I added a flavor shot of hazelnut and almond milk). As we waited for our meal, we enjoyed the decor and atmosphere. There is a little shop set up in back with local Newark artist hoodies and tees. There, also, seem to be a lil hangout/ community area. Now the food... I had prosciutto toast which is bread, pesto, arugula, mozzarella cheese, and a poached egg. My friends had eggs Benedict, berry pancakes, and peri peri chicken. We shared everything. It was plated beautifully and tasted so good. We strongly suggest going and having brunch!!

Yelp
Really cute spot with good coffee and great food options. Went with our kids, and they were able to find kid-friendly food they loved, while my husband and I enjoyed the avocado toast and chorizo omelet.

Yelp
If you want an extremely overdone and BURNT chicken sandwich, here's your place! I ordered the Korean fried chicken sandwich through Uber eats. Now I'm not sure if this is an Uber eats only thing but I doubt it as I arrived to pick up my order because the notification said it was ready but when I got there it wasn't so it seems like they were intentionally burning the sandwich. Also, you get like 9 fries with it. No I'm not exaggerating, wish I had taken a pic of that too. And to top it off, the guy at the front was extremely rude and flippant when I told him I came to pick up my order. Don't. Just don't. There's images all over that say Newark is for artists, should say Newark is for piss poor food and nasty attitudes. End rant.

Yelp
Good food, excellent coffee, fantastic vibe. It's the best place to chill near Penn Station for several hours. Bring a book, or borrow one of the hundreds on the wall. Check out the art. Buy NORK! swag. It's one of my favorite coffee shops in the country.
