"This restaurant is located in a lively residential area. Plenty of Swiss produce goes into the modern seasonal dishes, which are created in the partially visible kitchen. The restaurant is just as committed to sustainability as it is to wine – selected by connoisseurs, the distinctive wine list is testament to a true passion for the grape. I didn’t appreciate that if one or two people at the table want to have the tasting menu the whole table is forced to have it. This should be communicated in advance of taking the order and/or noted on the menu. The the food was decent - I agree that for the price the quantities were very small and unfortunately we did not get to try some of the plates we wanted to try due to the above rule. Wine list was great - very good knowledge and recommendations.

Incredibly thoughtful, well rounded tasting menu focused on local ingredients and superb natural wine pairing for the vegetarian and meat 5-course tasting menu. Friendly, professional, multi lingual staff deserves a big compliment. Quality-wise, it's excellent price-quality by the strange (expensive) standards of Zurich, but many of the wines by the glass and bar snacks are very decently priced. In one word: go!

Go to Silex if you're into good wine and complex, unusual flavors—they definitely don’t do anything average here! I was especially impressed by the oyster mushroom starter and the liver pappardelle—both were packed with flavor. Our waiter was fantastic—not just great at his job, but also super friendly and really made our visit special. We had a good laugh—thank you!

Loved our celebration dinner at Silex! The place has such a cool, minimal yet fun vibe with lots of attention to the details. The staff were super friendly and really attentive, which made the experience even better. For us, the orange wine was a highlight, and every dish we had was so unique and filled with flavor. Plus, our dogs were welcomed and got a special little corner next to the garden door, which was a huge bonus 😊 Cannot wait to be back!

I have always come to expect greatness at Silex ever since I set foot in there 3 years ago and this evening was no exception. With a clear focus on pig, the lardo on honey toast, the playful pork liver hot dog elevated with edible flowers and the asparagus tempura only serve to remind one that playful, adventurous food with a winking nod to the classics can stand up and truly be recognised. Get a high table by the kitchen to witness the creations and never leave!!

I haven’t eaten this well in Zurich in a long time - and standards in Zurich are generally high, but there are many restaurants out there serving good food and being unmemorable. This is not the case for Silex, a fine dining restaurant offering French classics with Italian and Korean touches. Ingredients are top quality and staff is exceptionally trained. We were welcomed and advised by a sommelier, and after that we opted for a la carte menu. Bread and cultured butter were really good, but to me the amazing dishes were the pate and the oyster mushrooms. I haven’t eaten veggies this flavourful in a long time (and usually, for the price, I generally avoid vegan fine dining in Zurich or try to at least put some meat). Their pappardelle came in a generous portion with enough Parmesan and meat. I need to say, as an Italian, that was the first time I found chicken liver in a pasta. Chicken liver is a childhood memory, and their pasta, although not like Italian pappardelle, made me think of the precious childhood memories with my grandma - so thank you for that. The meat was also perfectly executed, a very classic plate with a fine dining presentation. Desserts were very original: the chocolate sorbet with liquor was very interesting and full of cocoa flavour, and the rhubarb one was also so decadent and elegantly presented. We ate well, staff was efficient and this was very good value for money that we can only recommend for your special occasions or a guaranteed good dinner out.

The best dining experience I’ve been lucky enough to enjoy in Zurich! Service is impeccable, we had the tasting menu and they accommodated to each individual dislikes or allergies. Like this they made sure we all had a perfect experiences that fit our tastes. Our waiter recommended the most delicious wines - we stayed many many hours. Portions are just right, the explanations with each dish I cannot repeat but it created a great atmosphere knowing where our food came from. If you are looking for an experience this is your place, their terrace is lovely as well.

This is seriously one of the best dining experiences I've had in a long while and if you follow me you know I'm a Michelin star seeker! Honestly either I'm not a refined enough palate or this place leaves some of the Michelin ones I've been to eating dust behind. Impeccable service, genius food, amazing wine selection. I'm genuinely impressed. How can I give somewhere 6 stars??
